,do you plow snow ? have you lubricated your plow steering quadrant ? and related lever linkage ? or is your stuff proudly covered in rust / scale , and difficult to use ? just did quick check , unplugged my battery tender , heat lamp , instant start , plow blade sprayed down with teflon super lube , or snow chute spray , for quick easy non stick plowing , the plow quadrant , swivels with out effort , the squeeze handle lever , is smooth and easy to use. both my plow tractors have the same lubrication set up , just a good opportunity BEFORE IT SNOWS TO MAKE YOUR PLOW EASY TO USE , very sorry for suggesting this , just a good time to get the rust out of the way of movement , keep it slick , pete

Todays project is moving along.. Hiram never had a lift mechanism. He does now.

Built some rear axle brackets for Hiram this afternoon. It time for him to push a plow.

The BBT, her mom and I brought a little firewood in from the wood storage shed to the basement. I also got a Group 51 battery stuffed into the '75 C160 Automatic. That rig is ready to go for our weekend snowstorm. ❄️ 🌨️ ❄️

Actually anything it was pressed against lol. At one point those front corners were used for pushing small roots and stump out of the ground.

I don't like loose pin connections because they just add more rattles. Have 1-7/8" trailer balls on everything. If you could add a trailer coupler to the tongue that would put the top of the tongue even with the top of a ball.

This picture gave me an idea for an appropriate name for this machine,

Once internal meat temp reaches 165 degrees it will no longer take on smoke. I use foil on butts and briskets after they get to 165. Wrap them in foil & put back in until meat reaches 203, foil helps cut down the stall. "Texas crutch" is what they call it, I'm always happy with my results though.

The only ones I've ever seen break were from wheelies. It's a fair bet that if you get one that is broken, that or something similar caused it. There are several folks on here however, who have made nice braces under there for just such a concern. The pic below is not mine, but a good example.

I’m in the 18” zone .. which means I’ll get anywhere from 2” to 42” if the weather guys are using the same equations they always use around here

The frame to rear transmission area needs some definite improvement / bracing. I don't understand how they cheaped out on that high stress area...especially since its a rotation /pressure area, subjected to plow blades trying to rip it off when plowing snow, or pushing back a snow bank. Pulling a Tiller...or any other implement that creates drag....Needs a 45 degree angle iron added from bottom hole of the transmission mount to the frame rails !!

Coastal NJ here... Blizzard warnings in effect, winds maybe up to 50 MPH, more likely 35-40 here about ten miles inland. They're predicting as much as 18" for us. My bet is closer to 12". We'll see.

I was thinking the same thing. The fire box has in inducer fan and the whole unit is designed to work as it is. Adding a longer stack my disrupt the way the smoker works. Collecting the smoke from above the unit is a better route. This way you do not create more draft on the fire. There is always the safety factors, I think adding a CO detector near by is a great idea.

@Oldskool like the heavier grade angle steel , that strength just takes over solid control , also prefer that grade in channel steel, , made up my spiker aerators , 30 + years ago , with 6" channel , also makes a great weight tray . nice job , pete

I have trickle charge connectors like that wired to my battery terminals that also have an in-line fuse. On top of using it to keep my batteries maintained, anytime I have something that needs power I just plug it in to that connection and it works great. My sprayer has that kind of connection with an in line switch. Very handy.

I was thinking whole hog restoration but this seems like so much more fun. @BOB ELLISONgave me a red white and blue seat that @953 nut gave him the vinyl for. We might as well have some fun along the way!

@Achto does this tire size make my butt look big? me thinks an overdriven 10 hp Kohler will turn ‘em just fine!
