We finally got a little plowable snow. Alex texted me about 6 times today while I was at work wanting to know when I was getting home so he could plow. I finally got out and him and his older brother Aiden headed out and plowed my driveway and the path to my parents house. I really could get used to this. Alex on his 1077 and Aiden on my Bronco 14. They quickly worked out a system. Alex plowed with a straight blade and Aiden came behind him and did the clean up. The path between the 2 houses has never been so big, you could drive a Mack truck down it. They had a blast which is all that matters and I enjoyed just standing in the driveway watching. After all this is there 3rd year plowing snow so Maybe next time I can sit in the nice warm house and watch from the picture window 😂

I want to thank @19richie66 Richie for letting me adopt this 953. It has been a fun tractor to work on. I can really appreciate the tool box and gas tank modification. And thanks for letting me have the original wheels and the patina tins. The Ross steering is complete. New ignition switch and steering installed. Here is the 953 whole again. All new wiring and everything works as it should. Sorry about my finger in the corner.

Today was a guys trip to one of our local lakes. We caught a few pickerel, perch and one nice bass. Nothing crazy. It was a decent day of fishing with a good bite. Some times the food is better than the fishing though. anyone else ice fish?

Five inches of fresh snow this AM Which plow horse to use? The 312H open top or the 520H sedan with heat.? With the temps at 26F, the 520H got the call. Got about 2.5 hours of warm seat time plowing 5 paved drivewys, stone road and trails. Got any snow pics ? Post them here If you like.

A little ice fishing tip - If you find yourself having to chase after a lot of tip ups, stop putting bait on the line. This will allow you to have more time to sit in a warm shack with a cold drink in your hand.

Bought a muffler for my c160 off of fleabay, I had a Cub cadet muffler on it and changed it over to that one looks a lot better back to original. I didn't like the Cub cadet muffler because it pointed down to the ground so when I drove over the driveway which is stone all I would get was dust storm underneath.

@WHGuy413Those are some of the best pictures I’ve seen here in a while. They really put a smile on my face! I first started plowing snow with my Work Horse in 1984 when I was 14. For Christmas my parents got me a plow, I plowed my lawn customers driveways in the neighborhood. I liked it so much that when I was done I would plow the neighborhood basketball court (even though nobody would be playing!) just because it was a clean smooth asphalt surface! Because of that I’m still in the snowplowing business! It’s nice to see kids out there getting it done, and having fun. Just dug up these pictures from 84 or 85. In the first picture I have a insulated Wheel Horse hat, wish I still had it!

Thanks for all the Birthday Greetings. It's good to hear from all the old buzzards that have harassed me for years and the new guys I hope to meet soon at the shows. Also great to hear from all my friends on the East side of the pond. I spent the day at the Shady Maple with Mrs. K, MIL, and some neighbors from our Delaware beach camp.. Stopped at son Mikes on the way home and got this. As we were leaving Mikes, 8 deer walked across his lawn.

1 - Hold the chain by one end with the links facing horizontal. A bad chain will have a very noticeable curve to it instead of holding a relatively strait line. 2 - With the chain on the sprockets, pull the chain away from the sprocket in the center of the sprocket. A bad chain will allow you to see 3/4 of the sprocket tooth or more.

First Winter trail work, plowing out to the Cabin. Sure is enjoyable on the 417-8. Was slightly concerned about getting back over the brook with it's grade, it did start to spin slightly but grabbed and made it up at low throttle, last picture. This tractor seems to be the perfect combination of weight, power and manual transmission to get the job done.

Keep the chain lubed and don't worry about it. The forces involved bending the chain around the sprockets should easily break ice unless it's a big thick block.

I'm also grateful, Terry, I asked for "reverse" colors on my hood decal. You replied with a sample which I was able to tweek. Your magic was a huge contribution in personalizing my C-165. Thanks

Any lawn mower of garden tractor solenoid will get the job done. I prefer the old style FORD ones because they should last a lifetime. https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/311006_Starter-Solenoid_32639.htm?gclid=Cj0KCQiAieWOBhCYARIsANcOw0wef6wamDn9J_p_GYpzPDX9T0813PeH7y7Ud0H4oL98PnxayFj2noQaAsthEALw_wcB The "I" terminal will not be used on this unit and it is grounded internally so no ground wirer is needed.

We got about 6” of dry snow today. I spent about an hour the other night setting the tractor from summer to winter duty. I should have gotten my chains from the shed before the snow..

Been inactive for awhile now because life got in the way but turning back to this long overdue project. Frame and trans are already done so I plan to at least strip all the tins and start with an etching primer to make sure it has a good hold and lasts another 40 years!

Hey Jim. Thanks for the compliment. I posted a couple of my 1077 pics right after you requested them. I think I quoted you on the reply. I put new points on it today and still don’t have spark. I ordered an ignition switch so hopefully that will fix it. If not, I’m going to need your number so I can get more advice. here is the pic I posted . It’s little brother was thrown in on the deal. He kind of looks like a little red frog. We call him froggy

We used to go quite a bit. We made super lightweight shanties and the ends folded down towards each other. Just propped up four braces from the inside and it stayed in the sixties inside on a sunny day. We use such light weight line that a little snag on the edge of a hole just tears the line, so the shanty is nice. Perch bluegill and crappie if we can find them

She's pretty smooth...fired right up. I did crank it 10 seconds with the plug out to prime the fuel system.
