13 pointsSo as most of my projects go, I spend quite a good bit of time going back to fix things that didn't go so well. Case in point- my 867 was painted with automotive paint several years ago, and I didn't have a decent hood ornament to install when it was finished. Last year I found one, and got into a mess when I went to put it on. The layers of paint had reduced the size of the holes, so the ornament no longer fit. When I removed it, the hardened paint chipped around both holes. So I had seen a couple ornaments by "Wheel Horse 3D", so I reached out to see if he could help. I'm very glad I did. He came up with a base to go under the ornament, that I think looks great even if you don't need it. And it will cover my damaged portion very nicely. I still have to drop a little paint in the hole first, but I like the look!

6 pointsIf you have access to a welder, set a 5/16 or 3/8” nut over top of the broken parts. Run the temp high and feed slow. Fill the hole in and the weld wire will only stick to the steel parts. It should turn out once cooled. You can even use that heat cycle to quench the threads with some wax or oil. It’ll pull it down deep into the threads.

5 pointsWe have the first real snow in north central mass coming Friday. Typically I have my tractor and wb snowblower ready a month ago. I had removed the deck 2 weeks ago, but the bagger frame was still on and my dozer blade wasn’t. I have to remove the under seat bracket because it interferes with my 2” receiver that attaches to the rear tach-o-matic. It’s all done now, I dug out the suitcase hanger I made for my weights. I have 6 45lb cast iron weights, plus the 70lbs of iron in each wheel. It’s heavy when loaded. I also started up my 1984 5/21 toro (first pull) and changed the oil. Awesome light weight snowblower and throws the snow a country mile.

4 pointsFound this while surfing and thought it was very interesting. Thought that I would share it and get some comments. https://www.amazon.com/Kolpin-Heavy-Duty-3-Point-Hitch-System/dp/B003UYWUBK/ref=asc_df_B003UYWUBK/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309830501429&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9777140197210288750&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9018899&hvtargid=pla-448694326486&ref=&adgrpid=57212496130&th=1

4 pointsAnother archive shot. A little over 3 years ago. Patriot Horse in the back in blue. The 1267/87 attempt in it's original work clothes. And of course Trina's Pony 657 in Poppy Red.

4 pointsBack when some of us had very slow connections, a "signature" that had images would take a long time to download. Others that had a lot of text were just distracting. That's why admin put restrictions on what could be in your signature. I personally find some of them quite interesting and informative. Others which promote things that I personal find offensive or wrong for this type of forum, I just turn off. It's pretty simple.

4 pointsExcellent!!! That’s actually really old school… many ski areas in the early days hooked up old Fords and ran rope tows off the rear hub… A bit of historical context: http://retro-skiing.com/2010/12/the-rope-tow/ Purportedly the first rope tow, using a model t…

4 pointsRight now, I’m at $870 w/ paint and parts. But, I’m my eyes, this being my Dads Horse, and him passing in June, the Horse is priceless.

4 pointsTake your time and find out what you need. Make a list. Plenty of parts at the big show. No sense giving up on it. Doesn't look like it really needs a lot and is easy to work on.

4 pointsSome one gotta explain this one to me too..... "off-road-motorcycles; street-sport-motorcycles; street-cruiser-motorcycles; street-touring-motorcycles; street-motor-scooters; snowmobiles; marine-personal-craft" A touring bike??? a jet ski??? really?

4 pointsHAPPPPPY BIRTHDAAAAYYY Thank you for holding an annual Meet N Greet at your place and making Trina feel just as welcomed as anyone else. We've talked about it multiple times. This past one was a great day and we wish we could have stayed a lot longer. Have an awesome day!

4 pointsNext up, steering console and dash. Tried to model this to the real dash while incorporating the controls and ignition switch from the Murray. Gauges will be added later when I decide what I want/need.

4 pointspfrederi, that 165 is awesome! I can't think of any disadvantages to the wider track- except for fitting through a narrow door or something. All of my tractors get the wider track treatment.

3 pointsWas the original paint white or silver? I went and read a tutorial on here about the subject and the author used a Sharpie with a wide square tip.

3 pointsThat IS a nice incentive. I got a good look at an 854 at last year's BS. It made a great impression for its size and capacity and I'm sure seeing the possibilities was in the back of my head when I saw this one for sale. On the plus side, a friend offered me garage space to store the Lawn Ranger for as long as I need it, so today I moved it. Car back in garage, 854 in the shop, "Clyde" tucked away in the corner and snow tomorrow! Things are looking up.

3 pointsGot pictures of the front rims? Given the loads and speeds these tractors operate at, some repair methods can be used on them that would not work on automotive wheels.

3 pointsI called Terry today and he did not know that the 1970 GT14 decal set was not in the 1970 to 1972 category so he changed it. That's why I could not find the set for my 1970 GT14. Anyway, I think the problem has been rectified and I did order a set. He is also going to make some hood decals for my 1620 Power King tractor that are not available. He is a super nice guy and he knows his stuff.

3 pointsCalling for a little nuisance, possible 4-6" predicted here overnight tonight. Yesterday, it was a dusting to, 1". Last night, 1-3". This morning, 2-4". Noon today, 4-6". Just now, 5-7". Fully expecting nothing short of a full on snowmageddon here by this time tomorrow.

3 pointsA normal 3 pt draft arms are mounted way out from center line. here all twisting motion is concentrated on the 2" receiver wonder about stability for an uneven load.......

3 pointsExcept for the price... Bet a guy could copy & build one for alot less with turnbuckles from TSC. Most expensive thing would be the actuator.

3 pointsSo it’s dark outside obviously, but loading the fire with my flashlight I figured I’d check things out. He mentioned some bondo on the rear quarter. I didn’t see it in the pictures, but the right rear has a big Ole chunk about 1/4” thick popping off. No worries. I’d rather have a poor dent repair than rust any day! I noticed the windshield is cracked, something unforeseen. The tires are 355/60R20’s which is like a 37x14-20. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for some smaller meats. If anything, the 265/75/16’s on “The Cadillac” will be great tires to knock it down. The lift is RCR I think, which is likely Rough Country. Drop brackets on the lower control arms and extended spindles up front. I’m not sure how far I’ll be able to drop it, but I’ll try my darndest. It DOES have a rear anti-sway bar, so that’ll help with stability too.

3 pointsAs for the 8 speed idea… a 6 speed transmission would be easier. Similar brakes as a 3 speed. Bonus, limited slip!
