5 pointsWith the fenders almost all welded I figure it was time to start on the hood. The headlights should be here the first of the week. So by then I'm thinking the front should get finished.

5 pointsI didn't mind the initial post or the tangents. In reference to the initial topic, though, language (spoken and written) is very important to me. A person's choice of words tells me a lot about what s/he thinks and how clearly they can convey information. Care in writing and speaking is a sign that the writer or speaker respects the listener, and expects the same in return. Does a speaker/writer pay attention to what words their listener might find objectionable or is it "all about me" when s/he speaks? Casual use of homonyms to "mask" profanity is, to me at least, a sign that the speaker is fully aware of their tactics but lacks the vocabulary or the interest to be better spoken.

5 pointsBack to the original intent of the post. I was attending my 11 year old grandson's championship soccer game back in October. These were 5th & 6th graders. There were more f-words being thrown around on the field, and I don't mean "fricking". I'm not sure why the officials allowed it. I'm not a prude either, but I am disgusted by what language has devolved to in today's society. Not only was the language on the field, but some parents were guilty as well. I never used the f-word around my children, and now that they are grown, they don't use it around me. You hear it in movies, TV shows, and in music. My neice who is a nurse can't talk or type on Facebook without using it. I can't accept it as being the new normal. There is nothing normal about it. My 2 cents worth.

3 points@)#($+&-_@$$. Us and meeces. Constantly at war. IIFF the ground wire won't contact anything and shut the tractor down at the wrong time it really won't hurt anything. Mice are extremely fickle about what they like or don't. Search this site and Google and you'll find dozens of helpful things that may or may not rid your area of the no good rotten sonova........

3 pointsDo not apologize for the way you feel about this. Your feelings on this are not unique to you. Your specific complaint may not seem "severe" enough for some but it is legitimate and a sign of worst things to come in the horizon. You have the right to not want your grandchildren exposed to that language. We speak here also about will power and stopping addictions such as to tobacco by using just that. We also compare it to heroin addiction. Most of us that do not have one or the other really have no idea what we are talking about. I have never been addicted to anything in my life with the exception of cake. Although I have never spoken about it here before my life has however been affected by tobacco addiction which is really inconsequential compared to the other addiction which affects my life. Heroin addiction by someone very close and dear to me. Comparing the reactions to quitting attempts on the two is really with all due respect a bit ignorant. Knowing the two on a very personal basis has given me a rather deep understanding on the struggles of stopping either. Our society and systems are not conducive to it. Promoting will power for it although with good intentions, it is a bit naive. Lots of forces not under our control at work here.

3 pointsI didn't put them on to make the spindle stronger. I had a front wheel that would not hold the bearing a it destroyed the spindle. This was long before Redsquare, used Wheel Horse parts were nonexistent. The trailer spindles ,hubs; wheels and tires cost me less then new WH spindle, wheel. I for got to say the front tires would not hold air, so that fixed all three. The only thing every mounted on the front is a mule drive. I went with the heavy spindles for ease of installation. I sawed of the back of the trailer spindle drilled a 3/4" hole in it cut some off the WH spindle slid it on and welded it. That was 33 years ago the only thing I have done to them is tighten one nut to the next slot.

3 pointsWhile I have been at the hospital with my wife USPS has been dropping packages in my mail box. The parts above the cable is for other tractors. Needle bearings for front wheels. I also have new bearings, races and seals for the 953 not pictured.
-
3 pointsI think kids are well versed in much “nastier” words than fricking nowadays. But…the use of that word got your attention, got a discussion going on a tractor forum about the difficulties of quitting and AND got a few of you talking about the quitting process that worked (or didn’t) for them. And if if gets just one of my Wheel Horse brothers to quit a nasty life threatening habit I’d say it might just be a successful TV ad!

3 pointsMy dad smoked. I hated it. Eventually what lead to his death. Never had the desire. I did smoke a clutch in my buick. Smelled worse than cigarettes
-
3 pointsA lot of cleaning, painting, wiring, flushing, lubing, replacing worn out fastners, battery, fuel shutoff and lines, front wheel bearings, hardware and armrests recovered with leather when a new addition to the herd shows up. All worth it when the time comes to throw a leg over it and get some seat time. In the Spring carb and starter need attention and should be ready for the 4th annual Meet & Greet in September 2022. When the next owner comes along it will probably need nothing but love, that which it deserves.
-
2 points......"Please excuse the mess"........ Don't apologize for the mess, I read some where that a neat garage was the sign of a sick mind. After walking through mine, and reminding my brother-in-law of the fact, he observed that that put me on par with Einstein!
-
2 pointsNo pictures of no snow? It was 60 degrees here yesterday.
-
2 points@stevebo has some good advise there. Ditch the three jaw puller before you bust the hub. Rent a large bearing splitter that will clear the hub. What is that spacer doing on your axle, it has eaten you axle seal. Once the hubs are off you can pull the spacers off and throw them away.
-
2 points@ebinmaine how did you make with the fuel check valves? have all three in the same area , just off fuel pump discharge ,and carb fuel entry point , instant starts , less choke easier cold start running . pete

2 pointsI can't speak to that... yet... because I'm still taking Nicotine in the form of the Nicoderm patch. Step 1 is 21 mg / day, 2 weeks / Step 2 is 14 mg / day, 2 weeks / Step 3 is 7 mg / day, 2 weeks. I'm on my SECOND box of Step 3 right now because when the first one was finished, I wanted a smoke so bad... hopefully another 2 weeks will do it. I know at some point I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and JUST DO IT ! The PHYSICAL reaction to quitting Nicotine isn't nearly as bad as that with heroin though... and I'm speaking from OBSERVATION, NOT personal experience! Whatever the hold that nicotine has on someone just doesn't make any logical sense... it's not like nicotine gets you high, you don't actually FEEL anything! So why does your brain crave it so? And,,,, it's NOT FRICKIN HARD! You just need to make up your mind to do it! All it takes is WILL POWER! How is having will power FRICKIN' HARD ? (I say this as I'm pondering an excuse to the Treasurer for me to go out and sneak to the convenience store and buy a pack... yeah, it's FRICKIN' HARD! ) This makes "Honey, I gotta hit Tractor Supply, be back in a bit!" plausible...
