Just trying to find out if anyone would be interested in a white 20oz tumbler with the Red Square logo on it and your user name or first name on the other side. Karl gave me the okay on this. I was going to donate some of each cup back to the site but he said I didn’t have to…. So I’ll give away one or two every once in while. The admins/mods name would be in blue and the supporter name would be in red just like on the site. The grey one in the picture is Karls but the rest will be white, unless you want grey. I have to run the lettering up the cup to be able to fit logo and name on them. Price will be $35 plus shipping.

added pull springs to my throttle / choke spring pull point , found this to be the easiest way to control throttle creep , also added one to my carb throttle plate , just tempers setting enough to make for easy quick starts . have this set up on 3 kohler magnum 12 engines . lots of hours , with no problems . just an experiment that works , pete

Just gonna add- I just got another decal set from Terry, and the materials, craftsmanship, and attention to detail on his products are outstanding. I for one am thankful that we are lucky enough to have someone doing this work at all- and the level of quality is a huge bonus! I have tractors with his decals that are more than 10 years old, and they still look great!

Thanks for the compliments on the hand painted lettering.However,I can’t lie.It was done with a black sharpie. Trust me If I had painted with a brush it would looked like a blind person painted it and that would be a complement 😆

Day wasn’t completely ruined.. I’ll now refer to this as the hood less horsemen for All Hallows’ eve 😂

I keep the snow blades bent forward like that on both my machine and Trina's all winter. I find that the snow rolls off to the side better and as stated there is much less aggressive digging on our dirt/stone driveway.

Andrew...wet grass is sticky....it clumps...and it attaches itself to the underside of the deck. It is also a very ACIDIC . Have you seen the effect on the aluminum spindle housings? Dry grass blows out faster and easier than wet lawn. The only real way to get the deck clean from the wet grass is to take it off the tractor each time and wash the underside. There is just no substitute for LABOR if you want to mow wet grass....Just my 2 cents from 62 years of being on the planet …..Also my experience with those expensive housings !!

Got the engine painted and bolted up. I forgor how bleeping heavy an old cast iron Kohler is- especially when you try not to booger the paint! I know it looks funny, but I always put stove paint on the cooling fins.

Still waiting for the throttle shaft, probably next week when it comes, but my steeeekers came today! Might name this thing Big Sexy! Also missing my headlight switch.... But nowhere in this machine is the word "Toro"!

Got Busy covering the bottom of one of the 48" SD.....Rubberized truck bed liner, over POR-15.....VERY DURABLE. Have this treatment on a 42" and its been good for 5 years now. The bed liner is very smooth, sheds grass nicely. I do not mow WET grass, so have no info on that

This 953 jumped in my truck today! Between 953’s, 1054’s and projects in between, this makes more than I need. But… 1 bottom plow, 54” snow/doze blade, disc, … @Alliemorgan it was great meeting you as well!

Somehow I ended up with an unneeded snowblower lift bar when I was picking some deck mounting parts at the big show (the seller was helping me load, guess he got carried away). I can send it up to Maine with Eric when I see him on the 23rd, if that's of any help. Tomorrow I'll get the dimensions and a couple of pics and PM them to you.

@WHX?? you can send those horses to Texas. I saw at least 3 Michigan license plates driving through Austin on my way to the farm. @SylvanLakeWH They would feel right at home down here.

@Oldskool Nice find. I don't see the lifting bar or its flag. Needed to connect the tractor lift mechanism to the pin at the bottom rear of the blower cylinder. Dirty for sure, but practically no rust and the auger looks straight and hardly worn. Flip the side panels so the leading edge is forward as a drift cutter and not to the side as they are now. May need to swap sides. Good luck and enjoy!

I found myself a snowblower last night. More work for the horses,and less for me. Although I don't think I have all the pieces yet to install it. Any input from the seasoned users? Do's? Don'ts?

Sorry, I forgot to specify, I usually mow with my Troy-Built push mower because I had no running tractors until this past Sunday. Thanks for the info @johnnymag3. I just never got a real reason even when I went on the Google machine. Thanks again. Now I will probably not mow wet grass because I like my money. Andrew

My grandmother used to make coffee like that. Didn't need a cup, it was strong enough to stand up by itself. Practically had to chew it....

Hello all. I’ve been a member for a while, so thought I should introduce myself after seeing that this forum seems to be a friendly place for folks to frequent. I’m from Indiana and inherited 2 Wheel Horse’s from my parents. One is a ‘75 C-100 and the other an ‘88 310-8. Not the greatest photo, but it’s the only one I have with both in the shot. I’m currently doing work on the C-100 and using the 310-8 to do work. I hope to post more about my adventures here and to get to know you more in the process. Thanks, Ed

For the first couple of years of the Wheel Horse show in PA there was a IH OS-6 living in the orchard near the Round Barn. It was the first orchard tractor I ever saw in the wild. The OS-6 was kind of halfway between the regular W-6 and the full-fendered O6. I remember that first trip to PA over 20 years ago. I saw the sparse corn and bean fields around Gettysburg and couldn’t help but think “why do they even bother trying to farm these hills and rocks?” But the orchards sure looked idyllic. Not many standard tread tractors around here. This was row crop country. The WD-9 was far and away my favorite styled IH. No orchard version of that behemoth was available. I got to drive one at a show once and am still smitten. good looking machines. steve

I did the same thing on my Raider 12. Got sick of having to pull on the throttle all of the time. This spring assist was one of the best things that I've done to improve the tractor.

Paint pens work fairly well for an application like that too.

Original would be 6-12 AG'S or Diamond Pattern turfs.

Before I married Chris, her Mom had passed away. I was with her that night. Anyway, after a couple of years, her Dad and I would sit in the Legion in Huntley and sip DAB's (German bier) all afternoon. I was 19. Chris would call us from home and say dinner was ready come on. We would have another DAB and then go home. You have to train them right...he would say. Must have worked...still with her after 52 years. I'm pretty much on time anymore...it's the kids that are always late. Coffee?? We were in the Navy, always had coffee and it was strong. In the Navy, coffee is a way of life.

Would love to if i could find one. Yep, and it's a 6/8 speed It's a big box, shafts are ticker then those in a WH tranny. I run a 1-1 drive, so it will not reach more then 3600rpm. The hood was made to fit a 20hp command V-twin with the fuelpump on the valve cover, It should fit such a big boxer engine too.

Thanks Kevin Life expectancy for them in an outdoor environment is 4 to 6 years before any significant shifting or shrinkage. Most of the tractors that are restored usually spend 90 percent of their life inside and protected from the elements. Nice to get feedback on 10 year old graphics. I did a small wrap on Lola's golf cart 6 years ago and this cart has been outside in the elements every day since. The graphics have not yet started to delaminate, fade or shift.

Maybe I am missing something... but why is your blade bent down like that? Brand new driveway. Put a pvc wear bar on and keeping blade at that angle and very light to reduce impact on drive… works like a charm…

Having now been on both sides of the "approval" process, I can much better appreciate the parental cautious reaction to me as an unknown quantity college student getting serious with the well groomed, top student daughter. I'm glad you got that handshake.

When you lift up on the large drawer it folds down into the desk to reveal the missing type writer.

Don't own any new decals yet (but I will once the body work is done). Still, I have seen them on others' tractors and they add so much to the curb appeal, owner satisfaction, and even to safety. Outstanding.

Good tip Gregor. Thanks. At this point, the only fuse in the system is on the lighting circuit. Will add fuse holders to the list as well. I have lots of #12 wire on hand in red, green, black, white, and yellow for a good long time. The Delphi connectors ordered last night were for #12 wire as well, so will likely go that route, even tho it’s not quite as easy to work with and bulkier than #14.

I'll take a cup richie! And if @WHX?? is handing out tractors I'll take one of those too!

i have a bagger unit witht the 312-8 and the 37 SD -- u r right - great cut -- and especially awesome for fall leaves --- it is a life saver "vacuuming " up the yard leaves over the many weeks from sept to Nov

i have done a number of deck rehabs myself but for my own original 37 inch SD that goes with my original 312-8, I chose to go to body shop like you did with your hood and fender -- comes back looking considerably better

I love everything about that machine. I wish you were closer, I would love to see it in person.

I'll just comment here that, having had his coffee, the horseshoe wasn't floating, but it was standing up straight.

Looks like an early "B" or "C" 1975 or earlier because it has the hood ornament. The asking price is just a starting point, to me a non-running roller with an 8 speed that may or may not work well is a $ 100 machine. It appears that this machine has been sitting out in the weather for years so expect the worst and pray for the best.

Could be a “Squonk” bustop cup in the future
