6 pointsThought this was kind-a interesting. I'm probably the last one on here to discover this site, but just in case there is 1 more person, I thought I would post a link. Sort-a like tractordata. https://www.manytractors.com/

6 pointsI’m seeing alot of chatter about motor swaps with some cool custom work! Maybe time to revive this thread Just a “plain-Jane” original K181 in my 867 to kick things off and the Magnum 8 yank start on my 657. @ebinmaine @kpinnc @Bens vintage tractors @Achto and many others!!

5 pointsThe cart is in good working order. It was a bit pitted when I found it. I cleaned and treated the bed and sprayed it with bed liner. The back is a little bent but it does not affect functionality. I may be able to get it hauled to @WHX?? plow day in a couple weeks if that helps. I can take pics if needed. IMG_5989.MOV

5 pointsSometimes you have to put stuff up crooked to maker her look straight! Or you can dim the lights, I look better in the dark! Or you can just look down when you walk over there! Or put up one of those pin up calendars to draw your attention! Anybody else?

5 pointsYep. Me too. Randy don't worry about the inappropriate level in there. Just mount a whole bunch of cabinets on the wall with every single one of them tilted a slight different direction. Problem solved.
-
5 pointsYes and the shelf next to it, my wall runs down hill!! I'm a picture straightener so it keeps me up at night, but I bought the two car garage on a double lot for 10 grand! I needed to a place to go with my stuff after Mom decided to move to town after Dad passed, most empty lots near my house were 20 grand, so this was a steal. When I first put up that grey shelf I had to try 2 different levels to figure it out!! Best 10 grand I have ever spent though! I just hung that wooden cabinet today and had to take a pic and share. Randy

5 pointsI built my father in law a hitch so he can pull a trailer, and I'm gonna set up his leaf vac to work with it too. Just realized I missed a brace on the bottom. Guess I'll add it tomorrow. At least mine catches the slot hitch mount as well.

4 pointsAll you can say is the crankshaft is shorter than you need ! Maybe a hex threaded bolt with no head and two flat sides on your red 4 hp Kohler could accommodate the Schnacke hex head nut? The hex head nut will hold. Something was changed for sure from normal.

3 pointsI have a brand new 1991 P220 engine that is just taking up space in my shop. I have had it for at least 20 years and was planing on using it but never did. I removed the plastic plug, installed a pipe plug, filled with oil and started it up to make sure all was good. Located in central Alabama. . Local pick up only. I have a link on youtube if you want to hear it run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qXx_tCCviM I don't have a muffler so I could only run it for a minute. This engine fits a 1989-91 Wheel Horse but could be made to fit most anything. Make offer . Thanks.

3 pointsWell nothing as exciting as fabricating a new hitch, but I did change the drive belt on the 875 that recently had an engine swap. Ran into a little issue with the ground wire but @squonkwas able to talk me through it. Tractor runs and drives great. Also swapped one of the steering gears while the engine was out. Steers nice and smooth now. I bought it as a parts machine, decided to invest the money to get it going again. Now I am on the fence about spending more money for a new seat for it. There no padding left and the cover has big hole in it.
-
3 pointsI have two with braces to the hitch that will also allow the clevis hitch if it's modified. The 312-8 with the raised gastank and fender is braced on the top of the transmission.

3 pointsFinished painting these boys….. clear coat tomorrow. Might try working on an actual tractor this weekend.

3 pointsLove the 953/1054. Keep it original. But that poor horse is probable feeling sick with those green parts Heal him up quickly with some red paint asap. Any red paint will do. This is an old style solenoid. Their rugged and work great. If it doesn't work you can gently uncurl that top lead, clean and rotate the contacts inside. close it back up by gently tapping the lid curl back down and seal it with a small bead of silicone. Wala, just like new again.

3 pointsMake sure you have your truck payment in your pocket when you drop off your wife at the casino!
-
3 pointsAll good suggestions. One that I've seen adopted is to blur or camouflage straight edges by having tools, hoses, pulley belts, tools and other stuff all over the place--but I suspect that'd also give you ulcers!
-
3 pointsVegas!!! When we went to Las Vegas, we drove around out in the residential areas some and couldn't believe how many old cars and trucks that looked in great shape with no rust. Someday I want to fly there, let the wife gamble while I look for a nice old truck to drive home!! Randy

3 pointsI wouldn’t worry about a gas tank… by the time this baby gets running we’ll all be using a proton physical particle emulsifying separator for propulsion and the UN will have banned internal combustion engines…

3 pointsThink you're right. That should be the threaded end of the crankshaft for a nut
-
3 pointsYou folks will be happy to know we've been getting ready to start back in on this Ole build again soon. Organizing the parts pile and checking to see what I have/need. It's "only" been a little over 2 years.
-
3 pointsVery nice. Here's my version. I designed it to allow use of the factory hitch as well.
-
3 pointsThey grow like weeds here. I have to collect them just so they won’t sprout. I set ‘em aside for the squirrels but don’t ask me why. Maybe I should make wood stain of them to reproduce that classic wood look of the 70’s nobody likes these days. Maybe not. Oddly enough, last year’s crop was a complete failure. Must have been due to Covid.
-
3 pointsThe main shop has a loop from the outdoor wood boiler, but the shop itself has very poor insulation. I typically run that pump on a 24hr timer that I can switch on in 15 or 30 minute segments… and run it a few hours at night, a few hours mid-day. It seems to keep the shop comfortable for sweatshirt weather at least.

3 pointsBeen doing some welding practice today. Started with the 2 pieces bolted to the transmission. Made those back in April I think. Welded the other 2 pieces to those.
