Been quiet of late as I've been so busy. Lots of community stuff and litter picking etc. Also while playing in the mower shop today a juvenile Swan landed on our driveway. All I could do was catch it and carry it the mile back to our local canal.

So this isn't perfect by no means, but I couldn't look at the gaping hole in the grille any longer. Maybe someday I will end up with the correct parts to fix it rite. A scrap piece of aluminum, an old emblem from a trash 312-8 hood a bit of paint and no more hole.

I used to work at an RV dealer. We took a rental unit to a Bills game once. Since I wasn't much of a drinker I was designated to drive. Imagine my disappointment when I saw 6.2 DEISEL on the side. One of the guys said if I could pass 1 car on the NYS thruway, he'd buy me a beer when we got back to Rochester. I managed to find an old lady in a Chevette!

If you are buying new cylinders just make sure they are ones that are common size. Helps if you every need to replace one. We have three loaders over the last ten or so years and only one leaked. We did get a replacement and a kit to repair. Sizing the cylinder to the pump GPM is essential. Controllable speed. I looked at both, as a matter of fact, i looked at my old neighbors Kubota single thinking about doing it that way. I did use up a little more space and kind of but it right in the center of works. Ended up with two on the ends I was trying to keep the load closer to the tractor. The single cylinder was just about twice the diameter of the lift cylinder. These pics were from 2011

Same here. at least once a week, but sometimes 4-5 days. I was just mowing parts of the lawn that grow faster and even mowing till dark and finishing the next day. My wife did not like that, so i put her on one of the c-145 tractors that still need a bit of work. Now we mow as a team and she is learning more about how I open up the lands [what farmers call splitting up field segments] . Having at least three or four running tractors helps a bit in case a tire goes flat or a bearing smokes.

Those seats were awesome. I always wanted a set when I had my 80's Chevys. Olds engine is unusual. You normally didn't see that until you had to replace a blown up diesel in the late 70's

Looking good! I never understood what the ring clip on the front of the axle pivot pin was for. That being said, you can get 3/4 cold rolled steel at most any hardware store and weld that tab back onto it. You could always drill a hole and put a pin in place of the clip on the front.

Trying to clean everything and paint as I fix the little things. Waiting on my pin for the for the axle. I ordered and received the key switch and starter. Waiting on the rear axle seals, idler pully and switch pig tail. I still need to order the ball joints and maybe the front hitch plate. The front hitch plate hole is oblong from the pin wobbling.

It was a nice evening so when we got back from my Grandpa’s birthday party Tasha got the rubbing compound out and went to work, I think with some final polishing that the old truck will really shine again. It was too dark by the time she got done with it to get a good picture, but here are some I took that really show the difference a little elbow grease made

One of my dad’s tractors that my nephew had. He wasn’t doing anything with it. I would love to do a complete restoration on this one. We’ll see.

That’s the happiest poop I’ve seen in quite a while… I have been thinking about that tractor and how it could go different. When we buy tractors we have to make the critical decision whether to use money in the bank, or money set aside for play. In less than 12 months, we’ve added a Senior, Lever Steer and another RJ35 to the collection. I feel like I made the right move consciously to wait until I had extra $$ to make the call. No harm, no foul.

I am loving that tractor. Glad you got it home. When you get some time snap some pics. Please. The tires too, front & rear.

Archery opens 9/18 here but I don't get excited until the leaves change and a couple good frosts. Not one to sit in the stand and swat skeeters!

Looks like it hasn't got any rust on it! There are guys around here that collect vintage campers. They all get together and go camping in them.

This my friends is 1/2 on a 161 Ohhhh you wanted stainless.... $XX times 30 horses = yah not gonna happen. I could see Squonkys valve for a special horse tho. Say a good worker or plow mule that requires frequent changes. Seriously pretty sure a 241 is 3/8 NPT & got a little fancy with this one. My life's goal is change oil someday with out making a mess or spilling one single drop. Prolly never gonna happen..... Might be 1/2 on the magnums or later Ks ?? Wasn't the low oil sensing thingamabob bung on some tapped for 1/2?

We would take bets on the Olds diesels. Connecting rod or crank broken in 2. We had one out of a pick up that 1 rod broke. The rod went thru the block and intake manifold, snapping the cam and injector pump in 2 then continuing around to obliterate the piston across from it!

I have plowed snow with an Eaton 6, similar to the 7 (but without decelleration valves, so not so quiet or smooth). Works fine until you get to a bigger pile than you should move. Then it just stops moving or relief valve opens/ bypasses- i think. Not like it'll explode and leave parts rolling down the driveway. The shuttle ability to just go back and forth without clutching and shifting is nice and with chains & weight added it did surprisingly well. For mower work and under 6" snow depth i vote 314A adequate, and i'll duck now - but the 244H would do for you quite a while too. THE major thing I would avoid with the lighter duty hydros is pulling a trailer with a 1000# of firewood especially downhill. When you lightly reverse for dynamic braking you might come to grief. A manual trans comes downhill under engine compression and has actual mechanical brakes.

I was replacing the axle shaft seals on my Raider 10 last week and looked around the house for something to drive them in evenly. I found a basin wrench that fit over the 1-1/8 shafts perfectly after cleaning the shafts up with a scotch lock pad. Just gently tapped them in.

The whole unit is built on the chassis of a 1974 GMC C20. I’m pretty sure that it was originally a 350 auto truck, but at some point in time has had a 455 Oldsmobile and 4-speed installed. I have a list of things that need to be tended to before the first time we take it out, and one of the higher priority items is checking out the entire LP system. We were able to finalize the deal this morning, I received the camper and $200 cash in exchange for an 8N Ford. Everyone seemed happy with the deal, the camper is now in a home that will put it to use, and Joe will probably get way more use out of the 8N than I ever would. We went out and picked it up this evening after Tasha got off work, truck ran great all the way home and I must say I was impressed, that big 455 moves it down the highway almost effortlessly, although you best have deep pockets, she’s a mighty thirsty old girl

Saved a 1968 Camillus Pilot's knife today...picked it up at an antique mall for the whopping price of $5.99. Not pretty and no sheath...but a small project for my son and I to see what she's got left for life... After some wire brushing and steel wool with a little vinegar...also rubbed the leather with some work boot lotion. Handle is still rock solid and overall cleaned up pretty good... We'll see how pretty we want to make it down the road... My son Jack, 9 years old, is already claiming it as his first knife And with the double finger guard I think it would make a good first knife...

One of these goes slightly against the rules here, but the old rat rod bolens looks to good not to share.😅

Got it running…definitely needs a tuneup and some fresh gas ran through it…got a little bit of fuel seepage around the seals in the carburetor, though that will be an easy remedy. Going back tomorrow to finalize the deal and hopefully bring her home
