Had to dig up a pachysandra bed. If you have never done this the roots are like a plate of spaghetti. Using my 312-8 and the plow I was able to plow up the lion's share and do very little digging by hand.

A little light duty clean up with the 701 today. This is my favorite tractor for pulling the lawn sweeper around.

Bought this angle grinder a few years ago on the cheap. Being compact and slightly underpowered, i dedicated it to the "wheels of death".......the wheels finally won out but not after a impressively huge run by the Har-boo Fright "Drill Master" I tortured the living snot out of this thing, don't think I had much more then ten bucks in it.

I was actually able to remove not 1, not 2, but 3 roll pins in one day. Not only that.......I was able to reuse one of them needed on another tractor! After nearly destroying a tractor trying to get my first steering wheel off, i was not looking forward to this today. It all worked out tho. Skinny Minnow said i should go buy some lottery tickets today i thought about going after #4, the steering wheel, but thought not gonna push my luck and keep soaking it for a while and end the day on a good note. i dont know what whoever was thinking that invented those ....... things!

The question was " What did you do to day" I took a few pictures. The Eddleman mower was finished a couple weeks back. Ran out of black paint, I used some old paint I had on the tank and it came off when I filled the tank. I can't used the cart as I don't have any lawn level enough as It doesn't have brakes, but I painted it anyway.

I bought this C-120 with a 36" RD deck solely to pull a 42" lawn sweeper. As usual with a new acquisition, I hid it from my wife until I could sell another red tractor. Then, out of the blue, inspiration hit: I presented it to her as 'her' tractor. It worked! She had a blast driving it (and didn't ask me when I bought it). I think I might look for a C-160 to give her for Christmas!

Finally got the engine mount fabbed and installed. Alignment is perfect. Love it when a plan comes together! I could've dropped the Onan plate altogether, but the PTO hoop thingy is already there. One less thing to worry about later.

Options were pool time or wake up the tractors. Win! “Cheeeeese! All done.”

For those who have never done this. two notes: The short bar ,right side of tool picture, is made from a piece of 3/8 flat stock. It is 1.772 long and the ends are rounded to fit in the outer bearing bore of the bell. The ring is 5/16 thick to be used when installing the inner bearing. It sets the bearing to allow installation of the seal. Hope this will be helpful to someone. Marv

Yes but I must admit I only test pushing. If it passes that and then you find out it is not strong in reverse it will most likely be an acceleration valve issue which is not a major issue. As long as it is strong on one direction you can be pretty assured you don't have major wear on slippers or valve plates...They be the difficult fixes...

The Joisey Shaw was pretty much spared. We did get a lot of rain, about 5" or so, but little or no flooding. The whole shore area was to the East of the major rain. Nawt Joisey got absolutely HAMMERED with flooding and damage. My neighbor works as maintenance guy for a major chain of coffee stores in the North Jersey area. His company diverted all their teams to help the people up there. I donated my 'trash pump' to the cause. Haven't used it in many years but he and I were able to get it going in about an hour or so. Last report I heard is that it pumped out over a dozen basements already!

What's in my mirror did not really concern me too much. It's what ended up in my face that was a bit of a concern. Went to a local drive through zoo today. You are allowed to feed the animals through the window of your vehical, some of the critters don't have the patients to wait for you to get the food out side of the window.

There is a couple things i do to also make them last for years. 1 i try to never cover the vents on the body...it creats big heat inside. 2 during use i never push it hard....creats alot of heat on the peice being worked on especially thin metal and will cause warpage. Letting the tool rev will allow it to cut or clean much faster too. 3 i always try to blow them out....rust and fine metal paticulate accumulates inside. 4 thank the grinding gods for getting one more days use and still having all my fingers lol.

Ive talked with Dennis Thornton about mini crawlers before on here and usually see Struck crawlers for sale when a min pops up but when has anyone ever seen one of these Lennox Kitty Kats for sale? Ive seen them in photos and old advertisements but never for sale. This would make a fun rest project. I believe one of our members in HVAC is familiar being that its related to Lennox furnaces.

Ensure the fuse and the contacts in the fuse block are clean and tight. Put some di-electric grease (even white spray grease will work) on the fuse block contact area to help keep out water and prevent corrosion. The reason your fuse melted is due to a bad connection creating heat.

@Marv I really appreciate good "pictures of how to do stuff". For those of us with the willingness to tear stuff apart, but lacking experience, or even the knowledge of what things are called...it's invaluable. Thanks for doing this! Suggestion, parts laid out with written labels (ie. one of @stevasaurus's transmission teardown pictorials, I forget which) is also really valuable. Sometimes I don't even know what stuff is called, so it's hard to search for parts or ask questions that can be clearly understood by knowledgeable people. For example, when working on my car, I had to search through rockauto by category, looking at pictures, to figure out that the piece of cast aluminum that holds my wheel bearing/hub, connects to the tie rods and suspension is called a "steering knuckle".

Long time NY-er, I spent some growing up years in Newark and LeRoy and wound up here in Cortlandt. Gonna keep an eye on that Pageant and see about getting up there next year! (I noticed it used to be held at the no-longer-there Roseland in Canandaigua, a fun destination and some good memories from my younger years!)

Now THAT is a great score! That tractor is awesome the way you got it!. If the spray paint is still fresh (I see you posted Friday) Toluene or Xylene should take it off without ruining the original paint. Especially if he shot it with Rustoleum, That takes a long time to fully cure. If that doesn't work, I'd wet sand it with 320 until you get to the original. Then depending how shiny you want it, go finer from there and hit it with polishing compound. I use this three stage compound. If you dry sand it you risk messing with the original paint in that it may put in deeper scratches than you can get back out with the thickness you have to work with. I hate half-@$$ rattle can jobs

Decks were a dime a dozen, at one point I had stacks of them. I've kept a few and I keep them oiled. It does see to keep the grass from sticking. Even the tractor get sprayed with WD-40 and wiped down. Not so good if you plan on repainting something, but a good rust proofing. WD will remove oxidation off the paint, the lazy mans shine.

So a recently retired friend from work needed the ceiling of his front porch replaced...house built in 1936 ... not a square corner to be found.... Real 2x4 dimensional framing lumber though... I about choked to death on the dust tearing out the old ceiling... Check out what must be the original wiring... cloth covered wires strung through porcelain insulators..and look at that porch light socket ! Didn't finish today...back at it tomorrow...

A few pics from my Aunt… the customer. the precast installed… starting the block install after the granite company laid the countertop… Near completion yesterday, after setting the grill signing the last block “FJ Platte Services, ‘21”. That is my grandpa’s name, her dad. We were a bit choked up for that picture! When I roughed in the power, water and gas from the house, that job is what landed me Poppy’s new shoes.

It's starting to look a little more like a tractor than a collection of spare parts. Waiting on a few things that should arrive in the next couple of weeks. Started to run some of the wires and noticed that the 876 did not have lights from the factory. But this on does. Who ever did it did a great job of cutting out the hole for the wafer switch. Since the 876 wiring diagram does not cover head and tail lights. I tapped into the cigar lighter for the circuit. If anyone has a better idea for the circuit let me know. I made a mod to the seat. The original is bolted to the fender with one bolt into one of the three holes. Even with the bolt in the farther hole it is/was a little cramped if you are 6'2". Dug around the spare parts locker and came up with a set of seat springs and a pretty decent seat. The "Sage of All Things Wheel Horse" once told me that if you mount the springs backwards it tips the seat back giving a little more room for long legs. It really works!!!!! Finished the hood and was ready to attach the hood ornament and found I was out of the push on nuts. Went back to the auto paint store where I had bought them before and they were out. They tried to order more of them but both of the suppliers they use were out. Found some on Amazon. They come in 100 packs. Told the wife that I had enough for 50 more tractors. The woman has no sense of humor. So.......If you need a couple or so, let me know. I have a surplus

My very own 1990’s commercial!😂 more loam spreading and because of the hills I’ll be using the 520 with dump cart too move the loam to the back of my property. I never realized just how tippy a loader like this can be on uneven ground! So twice the horsing around!

I seen this at a local show a few weeks ago. The owner did a very nice job on it. He was driving it around and it was impressive.

Had a great time visiting @19richie66 and Karen today with the Stertz Gang! It was HOT and sticky outside but we still managed some seat time on several of Richie’s machines… Zach enjoying another GT-14 besides Blackbeard! Skittles is a sweet machine! Judge liked Karen’s Tractor—that M20 has some power for sure! I drove several including the Heston articulated machine. The cab/sunshade was really nice today👍🏻 Caleb is reunited with Skittles after three years. It brought back a lot of memories from our visit to the BS back in 2018! Thanks Richie for being a great host! The fellowship was wonderful and the whole family enjoyed ice cream at the Creamery! Always fun to connect with fellow RS members🙌🏻😎. Already looking forward to our next visit…
