@David Star In a time where selfishness, arrogance, and indifference is the norm, to come across a story like this, specially involving someone who most of us know and admire is indeed a glimmer of hope for human kind. You have not only my gratitude for your actions but also my admiration . Much respect to you sir.

74 C-160. Runs pretty good. Needs a little tuning. All the gears work main belt is ok. Needs the fluids changed of course, another seat and some minor stuff. Deck needs a couple of patches but it's quiet and a heck of a lot lighter than my recycler!

Soo couple of years back did a pulley change on the tranny from 6 inch to 4.5 and used a 1/2 X 79 belt to make it work and it worked fairly well but wanted to get back to a 5/8 drive belt so went to a 5/8 x 81 inch belt and added a second flat Idler pulley. I simply cannot believe how smooth and sharp it shifts and drives now! The added flat Idler was 2 3/4" with a 5/8ths bore used and existing hole on the side shroud and just opened it up a bit. I use to slip a bit on steep hill with the 79" slips no more, the belt drives and the clutch is LOT smoother and in the right pedal area.... Will see how it holds up cut 3/4 of an acre of grass yesterday NO issues.

What am I doing? A guy asked if I could have a look at his outboard motor which is not running right. I'm just going to clean the carb and if that doesn't cure it he will have to find a proper marine mechanic. Can't get involved in learning another skill set.

Decided to cobble the 2 plows I have into one. All I did was swap out the blades. After I finished doing that I had to see how it looked mounted on a tractor. So I rolled out the 500 Special and hooked it up. Amazing how easy it is isn't it?

Only ever seen a police officer round here twice in 20 something years. Spoke to one, a WPC, and she said they didn't know any one lived down here. Tackled the remaining section of the bridleway this afternoon. The start. The far end. Ready to start back from the far end. After the return. After two passes with the C-125 and mowing deck. The deck was set a little high as the track is pretty rough at the far end. Not bad for two hours work. Now when we get the new pup, we can walk her down without tripping over briars and brambles, or getting stung by nettles. If I mow every fortnight it should stay clear. There's some big ruts at the far end and they'll get filled in over time. There was just one down side. Got a thorn in the LH front tyre on the C-125.

Thank you so much for your willingness to be such a blessing to Howard. The selfless act you have done inspires all of us. May God continue to bless you and your family.

On my 1970 Charger hydro project tractor I had to split the transmission as well. The fluid pump does separate from the transmission just fine. Heavy, so use caution. You can leave the pump nearly where it is by hanging it from the steering wheel by a thick wire. The transmission halves then split alot like a manual. Do NOT use silicone for reassembly. Proper gaskets are available from Wheelhorsepartsandmore.com.

This become a Project of my Heart. This year The neighbour Farmers ask me if i‘m willing to help them out, to check the fields before mowing to seek for Baby deers. i agrred immediately. We run about few hours and it seemed nothing is there. Than they begin the first part of mowing carefully. Once a Mower stops immediately but it was too late. We missed one Baby Deer in the higher Grass and it became a victim of the Mower. I was about 10 meters far and i swear, that should be the last victim in my Area. So i begun with maximum force to develop a Solution with a Thermal imager and a Camera togerter as a Seek system for my Drone. Yap such a solution can be bought for several thousands of Dollars. ( range is from 5000 up to more as 10.000$) what is completely out of my Hobbyist Budget. i get a Seek pro Mobilephone Thermal imager, a Raspberry Pie, my FPV equippment and bring that all together to run. it is not 100% finished now, but my first results give me a good Feeling. I found few good sources to start with, added few things and try and coding, try and coding until Today. Today‘s maiden flight was IMHO a fully Success. it was all bound on quick and dirty, but i get a flight time of 25 min what is a dang good result. Sadly the Thermal cams with high frame are hard to get. So i must dealing with a <9Hz version, what is very Slow, but it works not too bad. While i forgot to put a TF Card in the Videorecorder, i have no Pics of Videos. The Way the thing goes told me i must continoue this Way. now i will enlightened all the unneeded things, to increase the Flighttime. Each gramms counts here. few Pics of my Setup ‚til now after i disassembled it to improove the weight saving. A 1500 mAh Lipo to compare dimensions the Seekcam mount and also the Video Cam mount together here is removed. a new version i had actually on the 3D Printer will save another 20 gramms The right Side shows the Raspi with SSD Harddisk and a 2 Way Video Switch, a Second 5V Regulator, a Video mixer and the FPV Transmitter here without Antenna. all squeezed in smalles Parts.without enclosures stick with 3M 2 side Tape. The Gimbal and the High Res Video Cam with Full HD possibillity An old membercard is used as insulatormount. The actual weight is Copter 980 gramms incl. 4500 mAh Lipo Battery 236 gramms of the whole Video processing Unit platform That results in 1216 gramms gros weight Airborne. the Bad was the Mavlink Telemetry Controller dies on the Session flying. but the Drone itself make a perfect Job until this happens, it flies the path and returned save home. For now the Invest was 500$ and a lot of hours Coding and testing any others here on Redsquare with activity‘s on the same issue?

Price reduced to $1,350. Please IM BillKC if you are interested or have questions. I have an RJ-35 and two RJ-58s for sale that need to go to a good home. Also included is a snowplow, three K91s, and two spare rear wheels w/tires mounted. I mounted a newer engine on the RJ-58 just to push snow and do some light mowing for fun. The RJ-35 runs great and fun to drive around and experience the beginning history of the Wheel Horse lineup. Someone before me started restoring one of them so it is a project. Paint is great but needs put back together. I also have a copy of Straight from the Horse’s Mouth (2000 copyright) that goes with these tractors. I don't have any way to transport these so Local pickup in Smithville, MO. Do not want to separate the lot. You can buy them all and sell what you don't want to other collectors. Thanks, Bill

The last few months I picked up a couple of Ford N-series tractors. First one I picked up is a 1944 2N (the painted greyish-beige one). The other one I picked up last weekend. It's a 1947 8N with some modifications, i.e. side distributor instead of the front mount distributor. And this 8N, someone replaced the original 8N engine with a late 2N engine. The serial number on the block was hard to read, but I was able to deciphered it enough to find out it was a 2N engine. Luckily I found another serial number stamped on the transmission that makes it a early 1947 8N, which from the other features on the tractor corresponds to it being an early '47 8N.

It's possible we both enjoy relatively flavorless but expensive sea food drenched in lemon juice and melted butter. I do have ancestors from his neck of the woods. Other than that, who knows? We both own Wheel Horses, does that count?

If you could find a cop anywhere near a bridleway you would then have to hope he knew the law in relation to them and that he gave enough of a toss to do something about it lol. Got the grindstone separated from its hub. Lot of huffing and puffing involved but I got it split. There is a drive key wedged into that slot and I will make one thats 3/16 thick not the 1/16 that's left of the old one.

I might have a complete new one. I will check later this morning and let you know.
  32. 3 points
No need to remove the hydraulic motor. You can remove the right half of the tranny with out unbolting the left half from the tractor but, I find it easiest it remove the tranny from the tractor and then split it. The tranny will split just like a gear driven one and there are a lot less parts inside the gear case.

I like what you're doing Stephan. Working on farms in my younger years I have run more than one fawn through a haybine. Not only a bit depressing but at times a real mess to clean out of the crimpers. Keep up your campaign.

Here is a short Demovideo of the FPV System i actually running No the Drone is not fixed, i plan to use Mavlink, an GPS located route to fly before mowing. The plan is if they will mow, i fly in the morning before they do the Field to find thermal differences, than i can switch to the Real Vide to see what it is. If it‘s a rabbit they will flee but not the fawns as you fella’s know. The next Step is a crosslink to Alarm the seekers, that they can save the fawn and continue mowing. Yes, is seems i‘m on a good Way!

I is just gonna call you EB # 2 I see you already met EB # 1 .... lookout for him he is a shister and is absolutely color blind. He senselessly yaks alot, way worse than Squonky, but does do a mean carb rebush tho so we put up with him. Gets fewer projects done than @19richie66 tho. Not only that heard tell his better half opened up a # 10 can of whoopin on @JCM once just cause she didn’t like the brand of hot dogs at his M & G. Just sayin ...it's a rough crew......put him in the hospital i understand ..... What model horses ya got? You a lurker you already know we like .

Well, a guy can't just go rushing into these kinds of things. The droll wisecracking alone here is worth the ticket price. Thanks for the welcome. It's entirely possible I may actually provide a useful contribution at some point, but being mechanically challenged, I'm more likely to have questions than answers.

Got my C-175 plow mule back up, running right today. After sitting the past few months, I couldn't help notice how bad it was running when I wanted to move it the other day. Today I decided to pull and flush the carb and discovered a good amount of sediments growing like mini stalagmites there in the bottom of the bowl. Seems crazy how the additives they put in fuel these days actually put down roots and attach themselves to the bowl, leaving the aluminum all pitted up in the process.

Unless you've had the Sundstrand pump & motor rebuilt, you colud atleast open the pump for inspection. It is, after all, pushing 50 and...without doubt...you'll find some internal wear issues. Now would be the ideal time to address those issues. To restore these Sundstrands is not a difficult endeavor and I have a couple of .pdf files to assist in the overhaul. Here are examples of what you MAY find inside the pump.

Well just like a sled operator the guy running a dyno can lie, cheat and steal too but I suppose it helps to keep folks honest. I quit racing dirt bikes for points years ago because I had enough $5000 jackets for class awards, meaning after all the expenses were added up getting that year end award cost me $5000 and that didn't include the cost of the bike. The problem is to get that award you need to race a lot at all kinds of tracks (some good some horrible) and weather. A lot of the time it just means you simply could afford to out spend the competition. I have a B-I-L that wanted his three boys to play hockey like he did when he was younger. Drove his family all over the state, racked up thousands in credit card bills every year; for years and put the family in major debt. I'm sure there were some "Life Lessons" learned somewhere during that time. Me? Now I race for fun, at my leisure, when the weather is good and the track is also.

Your plan, if I have this correct, is to fly a pattern over the field to locate the fawns before starting the mowing operation. Will you then relocate the fawn and mow their bed or is the idea to flag the spot so you can mow around them? In a year or two, you'll be able to buy what you want as obsolete and surplus hardware from the military for a small price!

That would only be a guess. The 16 HP had very few valve seat problems. Onan says to remove carbon at 500 hours and the valve seats can be checked at that time. I have never seen enough carbon to matter when I do my carbon removal, touch up valves & seats, adjust the valves and thoroughly clean the fins at 750 to 1,000 hours.

The biggest Problem to do that is the less flighttime of the Drones. The bigger and the better the camera is, the less is the flight time. i working on a compromise the cheap Camera to find themal differences and than a Video review. the focus and the alignment of the both Camerasystems is the next Task i have to solve. but it works for now. To have an idea basic flight time without anything is 45min, what is a heck of flighttime. with the old gimbal and Actioncam together it drops down to 37 min. +115 grams of Payload. i changed the gimbal to a lighter one ( expensive) and tune few things down. i also reworked the inside of my Drone to save weight. an additional OSD ( On Screen Display) will inform me on the Battery Status to estimate my Flighttime. the whole flighttime with the complete actual Videoequipped Setup was 25 min. i plan to strip it down til i reached 30-35 min. That is a real hard Plan and still a lot of Work to do. but i didn‘t give up. let the fawns become a Deer and harvesting them after they had a great life!

If it makes you feel better we saved these 2. The kids found these 2 under a shed across the street. Both were under weight, severely dehydrated, eye infections. We are good friends with someone who runs a large animal rescue in nj. They picked up the 2 and were basically in "critical condition" for a week required almost 24 hour care.. They said if we didn't find them. They may have lasted a few more hours without water. They are both doing fine now and will be up for adoption soon. If I didn't have 4 already I would have these 2.
