As a "husky" old guy I slip around in the seat a lot once off the level ground. I swear I need a racing seat to keep me in. Like Roadapples I had a slippery car seat back in the day, I bought a new to me VW convertible probably around 1965...Like any 20 year old guy I was interested in two things.. Cars and girls..... and more girls ... I polished that old VW up and it shined up like a new penny, Armor-All had just come on the market and I applied a zillion coats to the complete interior. My best friends girl was daringly sporting a two piece bathing suit and hopped in the passenger seat .. off we went for a ride and the first stop sign she slid right off the seat onto the floor losing her top in the process.. I have been Brand Loyal to Armor-All for 55 years now !!!! Mike B

For those going, have an awesome time! Please remember to post your pictures in the 2021 WHCC Show area. If you are taking video's please try to host those on a service like YouTube, Video's consume A LOT of resources and YouTube does a MUCH better job at serving a seamless experience than this forum does.

Years ago I had a kid clean up my 68 chevelle. He put silicone on the vinyl seats to make them shine. You had to wear your seat belt to stay behind the wheel...

Remember stay on top of the horse. U ride the horse don't let the horse ride you! Wise old man once told me that.

Hey everyone. I snagged my third Horse last week, which also happens to be my first "real" non-Toro produced Horse (my others being a 1990 312-H and a 2002 314-8)- a 1974 B-80. I always monitor local Horse selling activity around my area here in St. Louis, but given i didn't "need" to take on a project, I always have just been sitting on the sidelines. I noticed a B-80 went up for sale local for only $200, with a blade and wheel weights (!), that also appeared to be in sound mechanical condition. I messaged them right away and I was the first to say I'd pick it up sight un-seen, so it was mine. I went with a trailer and bam. Even better, it ran great! The only issue I could see was that the PTO was stuck on. Heck of a deal!

Just search "3/4 pulley" on Fleabay. Or 5/8 if it's been converted to 8 speed. Smaller in the back, or go bigger at the engine.

Set up day. Decent crowd.Things still kinda weird. Some restaurants you can eat-in some you can't. Not a terrible amount of wheeling and dealing but a nice selection of parts and vendors. Snapped a couple of pictures. My new Packers chair! Thanks WHX24! Trailer Tractor . Missing you!

Cleaned up the groundsmaster 117 before taking it into the operating room. Got new coil coming plugs in and air filter tomorrow. Looks to have full and new oil already in. But gonna drain it and replace it anyways. Tanks dry but gonna take the lines off and replace. Check carb and then go for a test fire. If fires up and runs and drives. We'll that's gonna make it even harder for me to part out. This might not be the most fancy rig out there but dang is it cool. If deck wasn't rotted out I'd keep her all together.

I've used lots of things to accomplish that, but never Armour All...😝

Loaded up and headed North to Big Show tomorrow. Got delayed by life, now only bringing the 314 h with deck and snow thrower for sale. the tractor is three owner with only 99 hours, yes, 99. It was org sold in Northern Maine. Only used very little, the second owner bought it with 60 hours, then decided he needed a bigger machine for his camp. This is my first horse, I was in Maine in 2018 and found it on Let Go app. Had to have this cancelled my airline ticket back to Maryland, rented a Uhaul, loaded the horse up and brought back to Maryland. Well as fate would have it, not long after I found a 417-8 local and bought it and has become my work tractor. Leaving the 314 sitting unused. Then I decided, not let it work over 100 hours, hoping to let some one else have a great machine. And be the one to run it over 100 hours if you want to or park it as is. Selling as is, with deck and snow thrower, like to keep them together if possible. Hope this horse goes to new home with plenty of green grass.

If I didn't have arm rests on mine to hang onto I would have to teach my wife how to mow with it...........

Pulley sizes are far more important than RPM's in my opinion...why over speed an engine that's not made for more than 3600 ?
  33. 2 points
First off- no laughing! I use a "roid" pad because it has little rubberized grips for this exact issue when mowing the hills in the pasture. I don't have roids, but the cushion keeps yer behind in the same spot. The memory foam cushion is somewhat comfy as well... I've looked for a grippy seat cover with no luck for a long time. My wife got it for me, and I swore that I wouldn't use it. ...then I tried it and it's pretty awesome. Plus it gave my wife something to laugh at!

Cant say enough good about these little Predators, especially for the cost! We ran them in a 'backyard' kart racing circuit- I had one with a pipe, jet, bored carb, milled head, bumped timing, beefier valve springs, Mobil 1 5w20 changed weekly, and turned it 5500-5800rpms racing two nights a week for 13 MONTHS- stock rod, stock cam with plastic gear, etc... The only reason I swapped it out was because it was getting tired and wouldn't run up front anymore. My dads was the same setup but with a billet rod and flywheel and a MOD2 cam- was a 7500rpm screamer! The sky is the limit with these things, but most of us would be fine with just a better pipe, air cleaner and bigger main jet- that alone wakes these things up big time. They respond VERY well to mods- every change made a noticeable difference, especially a cam, pipe, or boring the carb out. **** a word about FLYWHEELS- although ive never seen it happen, they supposedly CAN chuck the magnet off if running over 6000 and really hurt somebody. A top of the line billet flywheel is only 100 bucks, so if you p[lan to rev one to the moon, do it to be safe.

Buddy and I have a full mod HF 420 hemi single in a 1966 SkiDoo.. never dynoed, but we can pull 55-60 miles an hour on good smooth track. So 300lbs worth of machine, plus one of us, a heavy track, and snow.. Likely pushing around 20-25hp or so we figure. It'll lift skis for a solid few yards and it'll even take a second coach up to about 40. I'm not the biggest fan of them, but it is impressive.

So you're thinking that was his nose. Yeah, not good!

I then gave it a wash-down and got it off the trailer (when the points were dried out!). It even had the original manual, still! The owner said he had been using it the last 30 years mainly to plow snow or haul logs in a cart around his property. The motor started and ran strong, but as I mentioned the PTO was stuck on, so the motor did NOT like starting with that kind of load. I took the pulley off and it looks like the reason it was stuck was because the shaft had some rust on it. The pulley itself did too, causing the friction plate to hang. After removing the rust and giving a nice wipedown and oiling, the PTO functioned perfectly. The engine was MUCH happier. The tractor even cut grass very well, although it's pretty clear the blades need sharpened.

I repair a sheared roll pin on the gear selector of my 414-8. I also cleaned off the dirt that my last wash did not reach. Some of that dirt was a 1988 vintage! I now have a happy Horse and Deere ready for the next cut.

Starting to pack now. Didn’t know if we were definitely coming because my friend wasn’t able to go and didn’t how to bring 2 horses on my little trailer. yesterday my sons and I cut an opening in the side of the trailer and now they fit. The loading platform we built worked great. The c141 will block the road debris and bugs from hitting the fresh paint on the 877 . we will see you tomorrow.

Worked on the 1257Heavys snorkel! Notched out the hood and open and closes mint. Need to make a few brakets to stiffen it up a bit but idea is there probly going to find pipe with a 90° bend in it or get 1 more so I can move the snorkel a couple inches back right now its challenging land rights with my headlight.

Couple of touch ups to the seat on the 1075. I'm on the fence on if I like it or not. May paint the center black. It's coming along.

Well, you guys convinced me. Didnt take much. Lol. I removed the governor. Took off the stock air cleaner and exhaust. Went ahead and ordered new air cleaner, larger jet, and top plate for a throttle set up. I plan on using parts I have to build straight exhaust.

Make sure you're up to date on your tetanus shots! I once dated a girl whose father wouldn't let her ride in my car. Said she needed a tetanus shot first! Was it used for mowing? Is there a deck with it? Looks like the mule drive is new! (or never installed, or recently painted?)
