10 pointsAs I said in an earlier thread, I am going to be trying a product that I found on YouTube. Since chrome-plating regulations vary from state to state, with Maryland being one with extremely tough restrictions, I am l trying a spray chrome paint called Spaz Stix. The YouTube video looked promising, but you can't always trust what you see on the internet. My shipment arrived yesterday. One can of Mirror Chrome, and one clear coat. Here is my test project, a hood ornament from a 1974 B-80. Because it is aluminum, there is no rust, but a lot of pitting, scaling, and just plain ugly. First step is to try to smooth is out a bit. I trip to the wire wheel on the grinder, and various grades of sandpaper, resulted in something a little better, but still pretty ugly. Next step was to spray it with a primer/filler. Between coats I sanded it with 320/400/600/1000/2000 grit. Final primer coat yielded a nice base. Next step Mirror Chrome. To be continued...

8 pointsA good friend of mine owns this machine. He picked it up last summer for a good deal with the mower deck and snow blower. He brought it in to change the oil and we ended up tearing it down quick and going through it mechanically and clean it up. I figured id share. We started pics after we started. But i will find a before pic.

8 pointsHello, i bought this clevis hitch set of a duud in sweden in original cardboard box. And it was not the only WH thing he had for sale. He had what seemed like varios bits for snow blowers, more hitches, wheel weights and a cab. Found him on FaceBook in a Wheel horse attachments site by Daniel Larsson.

6 pointsBroke ground on this years garden, ran the snot out of Hoss, fixed a fuel leak and charged up the 701 ‘ol smoky’, tried to work him but it’s too wet to disc, fired up ‘lawn duty’ 12(16)77 and lined em up for a pic.

5 pointsNever heard this one before. It is the word for a group of rabbits....We have at least 5 rabbits in the back yard (we have been feeding then a bit during the real cold and snow.) The other half really likes then and they are cute. Interestingly they are not interested in carrots, lettuce leaves, cabbage hearts, or squash. About eh only damage is they tend to pull new little plant out of the ground . Main garden has chicken wire and electric fence her herb garden will get rabbit r fence until the plants get bigger.

5 pointsBump that snow!👎👎 60°'s predicted here next week. Tractor season is the reason!

5 pointsThat is the Bervac (Made in Canada) for WH (came in 38-40"? and a 46" version) which is much lighter and requires less HP to run vs the later TORO 44" version that is more common and available, here it is on my 520H. Hope this helps clear that up.

4 points@WVHillbilly520H your ‘gardening bug’ thread last year went over big, hoping you’re ok with me getting a jump start on this years. That was a GREAT way for many of us to track progress and dates! After plowing in two loads of manure, leaves, shredded paper from work last fall, I broke ground today. It’s still pretty wet here due to the monsoon winter, but it’s time to get things in, so I turned it over in hopes of things drying out a bit quicker. Still too wet to disc but lots of sun forecasted here, so.... Hoss went to work for the first time after restoration and didn’t miss a beat! ‘Ol smoky’ the 701 got a battery charge, fuel leak fixed and went to disc duty but it’s a bit too wet for that.

4 pointsMy reservations have been in since December. When the FDA approved the first vaccine I figured we were on our way to being one big happy family again.

4 pointsYep definitely a solderless cable nipple. Only need a small lathe really, in fact I could make one of these with a drill press. Mick

4 pointsThinkering of a new Torch, because my old is lost and i need ohne. After searching a little arround i found that Thing, promoted as a „cool flameless“ Solution. An Induction heater- first i doubt it will work for my needs, but than i think i can it send back so let‘s order it. so i bought it and today it arrives. while unboxing... a nice Aluminium case jumps out - nice. There are lot‘s of Parts inside. After opening this cool Alucase i have to do immediately a Test, that appears very impressive. Cool Tool

4 pointsI took a covid vaccine watch break and got some seat time on the 520 this afternoon. I moved the stacked snow that contains some stones back where it belongs. Should save some raking when the snow melts.

4 pointsBeen trying to learn how to sharpen my own drills. Got this in the mail yesterday. Wasn't stated as NOS but it has no visible use. It's never been fastened to anything. I'll give it a go...

3 pointsHas anyone ever driven a water pump like this? I wonder how the belt stays on, stays tight, aligned... IF I ever someday dig me a pond, I’d like to use it for garden irrigation, etc.
-
3 pointsMount it on the tractor like the generators mount drive to the pond and attach the hoses. Then you could use anywhere ( like pump out your basement )..

3 pointsHave been thinking about making an Waterpump WH attachment. In summer nature is so dry, and i would use it for pumping up from the water well we have in the forest. So the wild animals can drink.

3 pointsEvening, all. Figured this would be the place to post this. Been wanting a classic Kohler 4 cylinder generator for a while, but rather hard to get around here.. Stumbled into this 1967 (so I was told) Kohler 3.5kw 110/230v, 1800rpm light plant. (Nice and quiet) Allegedly was used exactly one time. It came out of a schoolhouse. It's never had gasoline in the bowl, the sediment glass has blue paint. At first I was lead to believe it was the K331 pressure oil system engine, turns out it's just a 301. Ah well, we can dream. It's a dual fuel, was always run on propane gas. My question here is, on the intake, you will notice a broken fitting and needle valve next to the propane inlet. I've not yet traced the steel line, but it goes behind the shroud. Has anyone here played with a propane fired K series? We had it running pretty good the day I bought it, but still haven't got around to setting it up properly.

3 pointshttps://techcrunch.com/2021/03/03/toro-acquires-robotic-tractor-snow-blower-maker-left-hand-robotics/ Hmmmm... I never had any issue with Toro buying Wheel Horse. Hopefully they respect this buy the same way. Toro was pretty faithful to Wheel Horse for the 21 yrs they built them

3 pointsHappy Birthday Mike, have a great day, Hope to see you back up here scouting for Bears in the north woods at the M & G in September 2021.
-
3 pointsThat'd be the predecessor to the D series. Should be a gasoline engine. Tank is behind the seat. 3 point was an option on those and GT14... Others... C195? I'm no expert but I'm gonna guess it's value is less than half the asking price.
-
3 pointsLooks like seat time will be slowly eroded away! Just think in 25 years owning a box store MTD will be considered "old school"!
-
3 pointsScott, its all good, it will be a few more weeks before I try out that new 3pt PTO driven tiller on the eMax, our sod is still semi-frozen and some snow still on the "grassy knoll", definitely more potatoes this round, corn, green beans, less tomatoes and cucumbers, maybe watermelon again.

3 pointsWhere is the challenge in using something light weight and easy to store? Real men use very heavy somewhat awkward equipment that requires a dedicated high horse power tractor and significant storage space for a job that takes about an hour a year...
