I can't remember seeing tracks extended to the rear AND towards the front but not including the front. FORDSON TRACTOR WITH HADFIELD-PENFIELD RIGID-RAIL MODEL X TRACKS (1926), ED BEZANSON PHOTO

Didn’t do anything with the tractors today, but I wrapped up a ‘restored’ Wheel Horse lantern to go along with the patina one. Not really tractor related but figured you guys might dig it.

Got some snow 4-5 ish inches. I did get out and plow some. Used to enjoy this much more, but the older I get seems mostly like work! Was going to do the gravel flat then readjust the tilt and head up the asphalt. It is always fun! This tractors nick name is "Maryland Monroe" cause I bought it in Maryland and she is nice!

Saw this on Facebook earlier. And @pullstart was the first person who came to mind. Wonder just how many Horses could fit on a trailer this size

Some new wires on one of my snow horses. She would click but not crank. I had purchased some 6 ga welding cable from McMaster both red and black. It is nice stuff very flexible even in the cold. Hadn't used the red until today found out they had messed up sent me 4ga instead of 6. Luckily I found a couple 4ga lugs so she is back in business.

BeninCT just built a 2" receiver and EBinMaine suggested a search for implements so I thought it might be handy to collect the forums thoughts here for great uses of a 2" receive besides just towing. I found this: Puts a different spin on what can be done with a 2" receiver. Even a snow plow for a front mount:

Some shaped like that I sprayed a dark brownish colour. On a visit to the eldest daughters new abode I secreted it behind her settee. I was told later she went mad at the S-in-L. Told him to clean up his dogs mess and not let it in the house again.

Trina was putting something up on the top shelf and noticed a draft. I got up on a step, held the phone camera and took a picture of the dark... Showing a light stripe. Where the wall was separated from the sill. So she crawled up in there and layed out some spray foam. Good to have a "Not huge" person handy.

With the Pullstart crew loading I'd say around 647.

Bought this 10 years ago to clean the 12'x22' deck off after a storm and was getting tired of shoveling it. When we first moved here we got much more snow than we do now and after 3 to 4 hours doing clean up the last thing I needed was to shovel the deck off. Picked this up at the Toro dealer and laughed a little when he told me how good these actually worked. I was really surprised at the nice job it does in powder. I try to let no more than 6'' build up at a time.It has been trouble free and I figure at $ 300.00 and made by Toro it had to be worth it. I give it the thumbs up.

I have an old wood chipper that runs but needs sharpened blades so will tune that up and set it on a 2” sq tube so I can take it to where the chipping needs to happen. Would think an 8hp walk behind leaf blower would be a good match for this hitch also- blow leaves from the comfort of your tractor seat! Might be better up front but I worry about the weight.

Fuel pump may be weak, the brass strainer/filter in the tank may be clogged (enthanol fuel?) and it can't pull it enough to start it but keeps it going after, vacuum hose to the pump is brittle or soft or pin holes, inline fuel filter dirty, all the fuel lines hard/soft bad after all these years.

Managed to make the front mount screw capture the two halves of the head, expanding them apart and thus locking them into the slot in the base

Back to my auto college days... Our tutor used to tell a story of a little old lady who had bought a brand new car but kept on returning with engine problems. Every time it was checked, road tested and returned to her with nothing found. It was in perfect health. She returned it again saying it would not run properly, no power, dying a death every time she tried to drive it. The shop foreman suggested she drive him so he could see the problem for himself. In she jumped, started the engine, pulled out the choke knob and hung her handbag on it. Cough cough stop. "See, everytime I put my handbag on that little hook for it the engine stops"

I think it's a good thing that spray foam is not brown in color! I should own stock in that company. It gets used extensively around here. Rodents will not chew through it. They take one bite and run. Must be the formaldehyde trapped in the cells.

Put the Blower and chains back on the 314 today! Worked like a charm still gonna get wheels loaded for more weight but still not disappointed with how she preformed on her maiden voyage in the snow! My other half even wanted to try it out! (Slowly getting her addicted to wheel horse and she dont even know )

Greg Meeker came over today to help tinker on this old girl. He was a HUGE help and great company! We pulled the deck and got it put up, replaced acceleration springs in rear end, got rock shaft & hyd cylinder put back in, new hyd lines installed, fan & drive pulley back on. we briefly tried to pull a hub. Might abort that plan. Afraid I’ll break it. They’re really stuck. I can clean them up and paint them while on the tractor. No big deal.

Max that V plow is fantastic! I've been seriously considering making one of those a project here. If you wouldn't mind I'd love to see more pictures of that at whatever angle you think is usable....

I know some of you more seasoned plow jockeys know this trick but wanted to share. Just showing the tilt adjustment on my toro 522 xi plow. When tilted forward it raises the shoes and I can run the plow on cement or asphalt. (There is a conveyor belt strip on the edge). When set to the next higher hole, it tilts back and the skid shoes contact the ground allowing the plow to glide over gravel or loose material with less digging. I know the video is not to good but my film crew was off today.

That's my garage. I am currently getting ready to build a 32x38 detached garage to move all the projects and tools into that and keep this garage for just our cars. This is a box store brand epoxy with the paint chips and a clear coat over it. The winter salt etc puts a beating on it but with my beating the crap out of it with tractors, trucks, jack stands it has exceeded my expectations. I have 20 or so small chips from dropping heavy items on it but other than me damaging the floor it has help up ok. It was a brand new slab which I think helped and prep work means everything.

I can safely get 4 on my 6.5' by 12' trailer with nothing hanging out. If headed to a show grab a plastic sheet to lay over the bed in the master bed room so you can fill that area with parts on the way home. Oh, and don't forget the drop down bed in the garage, you could lower that some & fill it with parts also.

YYYEEESSS Overall I would absolutely agree with that. I try to be as frugal as possible with most things and make purchases that will benefit us in the long run. Most things on McMaster I wouldn't buy because of pricing but if I need something that's going to be good quality and the correct size, that's where I go. One of my personal values in life is to find the value in any given purchase. My grandparents were 10 or 11 years old when the Great Depression hit. They learned very early in life that something inexpensive is often something also cheap and those can be two very very different words.

Surprisingly, the 656 will move more snow than you might think with that plastic snow plow. Unfortunately, some wet snow and some snow banks kind-a did a number on my 3/8" eye bolts. Guess they just weren't made for that. It was time for a re-design. With a little pipe and a few bolts, I think it's much more rigid now.Of course any good plastic snow plow needs a precise, carefully calculated amount of weight, to make it work properly. Mine turned out to be a 42" cardboard tube, filled with bird seed. It took me a long time to find a program on line to figure that out. A plow this nice needs a better system for lifting. I am working on that. It just might be that I over built the frame mechanism, and I might break my plow. Time will tell.
