13 pointsNew to the group and to Wheel Horse. Collect mostly Case tractors to include L&G. Earlier this year I was given a '69 Work Horse 700 by a friend who wanted it off of her inherited property. Came with a 32" RD deck and snowblower. Had it listed on Marketplace for quite a while and received a lot of interest, but couldn't get the deal done. Well...one thing led to another and now I'm working on it. Original engine was gone and replaced with a B&S 8 hp. Sold that and did some trading for a K181S and fuel tank. That's rebuilt now and installed. Got the rectifier mounted today. Did a lot of cleaning. Have the original rear tires, but I chose to install 8.50 rears instead. Still working on it and hope to have it running and driving soon.

9 pointsWorked a bit more on the 1045 today .... cleanup mostly ..ugg...wife says I smell like parts cleaner. I guess that dab behind the ears doesn't help get her in the mood. I says wadda ya want from a guy runs tractor shop Mrs. candy apple! She quieted down. Any hoo redrilled & pinned the fan gear to the steering shaft with a 3/8 roll pin. PO had a 5/16 bolt through it and lots of slop Also rebushed the the pinion to base and the rebushed the the steering to front plate which was wobbled out terrible. Same things I did on a 1067 resto and steers great. Last two pics but same principle. Woulda got more done if the Packers hadn't pulled it out their rear and had to watch that.

6 pointsGet one of @jimkemp 's . His are supplied with a curved chrome tip but i bet he can furnish one with a flat top for a flapper. He may even be able to furnish a flapper but any TSC will have them too. This whole setup is from a TSC like farm store. A little loud and too long for my tastes so got replaced with one of Jim's. Another alternative is a cub muffler like the one on this 702. Last pic is Jim Kemp's

6 pointsSlow down there Mike!!! He just got dial up internet at his house last week.

6 pointsGod decision going with a Kohler engine. The rectifier you have purchased may not serve you very well. ti was intended to be mounted in the flywheel cover of the engine where it would be cooled by air movement. for external mounting you will want one like this.

4 pointsBought a new laptop, Asus ROG, Core i7, 16 gig ram, Nividia RTX graphics running at 144Hz, no more eye strain. What can I say it came pre-loaded with win 10 home edition The OCR app maxed out 16 gigs of memory.

4 pointsWhen I was a kid I remember my step grandpa (the guy who got me hooked on Wheel Horses) made up some simple brackets and hung a Little Wonder 8hp walk behind blower on his snowplow/dozer blade. He had it on his C-161 Twin Automatic which I now have resting in my basement. I’m not sure how hard it was to steer, but I remember he could angle the blade left and right to direct the airflow.

4 pointsMy muffler finally rusted out, and I need help in what I should order for a muffler, also I guess now is the time for a stack, I was hoping for a stack that had like a flapper on it like my uncles old Case tractor, is that possible? any one have any ideas, and can tell me what to buy or who to talk to?> Thanks.. Stephen Please let me know what you suggest... IT is a great old tractor, since this photo I got the Wheelhorse hub caps :)

4 pointsLast time we were going up to the cabin ther was a place along the way that was selling containers. All different sizes. Kinda odd I thought for northern WI. Guessing they came down from Lake Superior. A couple have had windows and a service door cut in and just for grins gonna check them out when headed up this Friday.

4 pointsNew pins on the right side loader arm today. No grease on anything as it will all need to be painted anyways, i just dont want to keep messing with the loader with worn out pins. Looked at the trans for a few. Dont know anything about them, dont see any obvious issues. Need to lift the machine up soon and wash the trans so i can start to find the problem(leak) if im lucky its a loose filter but i doubt it.

4 pointsI prefer one of each! Options depending on snow density and amount.

4 pointsRemoved the Tyres, so i have at Rear a „Wheel less Horse“ for a moment... popped of one tyre by hand, what was a fight but a completely remove from the Rim is impossible by hands because of the Stiffness of the rubber even the other tyre sits on it’s Rim like for eternity.. cannot be popped off by handy without heavier tools. But that‘s not a problem at all, i will stop by tomorrow at a Fella‘s tyre workshop to remove both tyres from the rims. After that, both Rim’s go a local sandblasting Company few Valley’s down, to prepare for the Finish. curious how they come out if finalized. Stay tuned. 😎

4 pointsThis is what is inside the socket under the bulb. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/dorman-conduct-tite-electrical-sockets-1-wire-universal-single-contact-85800/5011531-p?c3ch=PLA&c3nid=5011531-P&adtype=pla&product_channel=online&store_code=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItLT-x8-H7QIVTfDACh3pFQjFEAQYCSABEgIrLPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds For the wire connections I use bullet connectors. https://www.amazon.com/Terminal-Bullet-Terminal-Connectors-Terminals-Insulation/dp/B07VWBKBH1/ref=asc_df_B07VWBKBH1/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=385629037133&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4630614205927552593&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019173&hvtargid=pla-852178714038&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=73872201970&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=385629037133&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4630614205927552593&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019173&hvtargid=pla-852178714038

4 pointsThat's why it started first pull !! Sounds like you have a good set up. I have a shore plug on the side of my house to plug in my 8000w Baldor gen. Shut the main breaker off & turn the 50amp breaker for the gen on. Will run all but the AC units. System is not what you would call "Up to code" but no power is back fed to the grid so line men are safe to work.

4 pointsWelcome aboard. Looks like a LOT of space in that shop. Be careful. These tractors breed pretty fast! Cheers! Dave

4 pointsSpent some time working on this one. The smart steer has been eliminated. I took the linkage off and spun the rod end 1/2 turn, then drilled a hole in the frame and tightened it up. In this connector, I moved the white and purple wires. For some reason, the cruise control lit up when the PTO clutch was engaged, and vice versa the other way. Now purple goes to white and white to purple, but the lights are correct. Pulled the deck off, it’ll end up being a full time loader tractor.

4 pointsSo I fired up the big compressor and used my "new" tool and put a wire brush attachment on a air based drill chuck and spun the wheels by hand while moving the wire drill in and out. I only did one side of the rims because I'm horribly impatient and wanted to see what it looked like being "done". I'm gonna pop the wheels off this week one at a time and do the other sides but I think it looks great.

4 pointsNew rotatingsystem in use, works ok.It is a flywheel of a toyota aygo and the gearwheel on a hydraulic engine, rotatingspeed is fine. For the moment powered with a small electroengine/hydraulicpump about 0.7 KW so maximum load now 140kg. Mechanical no stress but you can hear the sound the electroengine makes to complain fur the load. Next time I will put the wheelhorse in front of it see how it maxes out. kraantestklein.mp4

3 points1045 perfect example of using what they had on hand. New style hoods and used up old style fenders.
-
3 pointsIf you look closely at the things the Ponds did it was because they used what they had and never made changes that were unnecessary.

3 pointsagree with 953nut , on the rectifier cooling area , I would also emphasize the detail grounding to anything in a build up , that's the time to use serrated ,slotted washers and added grounding wire to insure electrical function , pete

3 pointsThe C-160 lives! I finally got it to crank and spark. It was the cable from the load side of the solenoid to the starter that was tarnished and a bit loose at the crimp. It looked like new and my lying eyes deceived me until the test light probe made the connection.. A little carb spray and she lit off a few licks.

3 pointsTake that TV out of your shop & you will get more work done.

3 pointsIt feels good to say that Frank is finally finished! I’d love to some day get him to quit smoking so much, as in bore and rebuild the engine... but otherwise it is complete and finished “
-
3 pointsFrank’s freshly oiled air cleaner is back on, dripping a bit more residual oil now. I’ll stick the hood back on then toss a rag under the filter to catch any more drips.

3 pointsI have a grapple and pallet forks, both of which I use more than the bucket. I guess it will depend on what you are doing. I got some pallet racks so I can store the implements out of the way when not in use. They are the quick-detach skid steer type.
