10 pointsCame home from a walk today and spotted this little fellow down the track. Helping himself to some apples dumped there. Not seen any deer for quite some time. He's the second one I saw today. First was as I was walking round far off in a field

6 pointsHello All, Alot of 'Horse wrangling today... A guy named Chris out of Rhode Island traded me a clean D160 for my 520H which was in average shape... I dont like I the steering column hydro controls or the Onan... the D has a Kohler K341 in it and thats pretty much how I like my D'S so that was easy. He also picked up an engineless 516A that I owed him. Then... he buys my 416H that I swapped a Kohler 16 in place of the Onan. Again I can't stand the controls so out it went... Then... he buys a C125 black hood that's been laying in a heap since the trans axle popped an axle seal and it turned itself into an "I'll get to it project" that was 5 years back... so out it went too. Then his 11 yr old fell in love with my Raider 12 with the super big Craftsman tires and rims... I liked the idea of the kid having it so I sold it too. Its been sitting for years... Then, his kid sees my Commando 8... father says how much and I let that go... again been sitting for "someday" His trailer was packed with 6 tractors, some odds and ends. A yard cart, a Honda 13 hp horizontal a plow and some stuff Im sure I've forgotten. To round out my day my 1998 314-8 went to Bethlehem CT with (2) 37" decks, a 48" plow, Craftsman weights and a good used set of 2 link chains. The OHV motor doesnt impress me so... GONE Not bad.... I cleaned up a bunch of stuff, have a pocket full of cash and a cool Wheel Horse D160 "Sherman Tank" Here's some pics of the D and my C160 that did all the lugging and dragging today. Hope everyone is well! Tony 20201114_115436.mp4

6 pointsYou could look around a bit and might find the curves you need off of something already prestamped. I made this from the outer corners of a Craftsman rider rear fender.

5 pointsThis was recently on the curb new my brother’s house. Free / doesn’t start. I had to disassemble the controls tower to get it in our Suburban. I stuck it back together tonight, TIRNED THE GAS ON, and one pull it was running! It aughtta do for someone, I’ll stick it on CL after an oil change (looks new still!) and some fresh gas run through it.

5 pointsOk I finally got back into the shop after pondering my plan of attack for the skid plate and this is what i came up with Its a simple ladder design that bolts through existing holes in the frame this way it can be removed for repairs. Then i cut out a trash plate out of 3/16" plate, and drilled holes to mount with button head screws to keep a low profile on the face of the plate. I also thought i should support the hood stand in some way given the force put on the rockshaft from the hy pump cylinder. I decided on a variation of the 701 supports this is what I came up with. Everything on this tractor has been built/designed around function, these brackets will not be painted and allowed to rust to match the rest of the tractor. I am very pleased with how it turned out and I have to say this frame is stiff! Here is where she stands for the night

5 pointsyou done gooooood! It is a Johnson Workhorse loader, mine is the same model. The subframe on yours may not be correct, if should span from the front of the frame back to the rear axle. If the loader is just attached to one point near the center of the frame it could twist the whole frame.

5 pointsA couple of FEL exploits from the last couple of months... the first thing that I used the FEL to do was to remove the kids sandbox which had denigrated down to a king size litter box for the cats🤢. It was fun to play with the new toy but like my buddy @Shynon told me, “you will find a ton of uses for that outside the normal usage!” Next up was to move an old dilapidated couch from the back yard to the trailer... Most recently...removed the play house from the back yard. You can’t see it in this picture but the back right tire is clearing the ground by about 2”. I put blocks under the house and then we pulled it up on to the trailer with straps and winches. Then it was time to clean up the area where the house use to reside. Please add pics and stories of all the stuff that you have used your FEL’s for and cool attachments on to the FEL to make it even more versatile...

5 pointsOk guys heres the pics. Any info on the tractor itself would be great. Looks like engine has been swapped. It runs(bad due to stuck float) and drives amd bucket works great. I paid 1,000 dollars for it as you see it. Im excited what do you guys think? Also anyone know what the loader is? Kwik way maybe EDIT: I think it says johnson on the blue sticker

4 pointsStarting a slow restore to a C-160, Today she got a new fuel tank, and different tires. Started it up and went for a ride under her own power, first time since '08. Next comes finding the fuel leak, looks like a bad hose. and maybe some cleaning of the oily parts.

4 pointsHappy Birthday @admin! Thanks for being here, We’re surely all glad you were born!
-
4 pointsNope. That was a totally different site. The original Redsquare was started by a friend of mine, an 18 year old high school senior. I believe it was a school project or something along those lines. When the original web host was failing Karl @nylyon saved the day and all the data and got us where we are now.

4 pointsTomorrow is gun opener in Michigan. I never even practiced with my bow this year. I don’t know why, but they legalized a 450 Bushmaster for shotgun zones so I picked one up this week. 3 shots to say it’s sighted in, I’m ready for the morning! Unfortunately it was 26 degrees this morning and zero wind, tomorrow is supposed to be 40’s and 50’s, 20-30 mph wind and rain most the day. I have a feeling this year’s opener might not be as plentiful as the last 2. I’ve harvested 3 bucks opening day in the last 2 years, a 7, 8 and 5 points. There’s a big ole 8 point out there that I’m hoping is love struck enough to chase a doe in front of me in the morning!

4 pointsDang! I’m amazed every year that this forum not only survives but grows and stays active. I’m also on a couple well run truck and car forums and they are nowhere near as active as this site. A Redsquare anniversary always reminds me that I’ve been here a looooooong time

4 pointsAye. 14 years on the 14th. Good day for a mini meet and greet. Thank you for keeping a site going that maintains a positive air. It's a genuine emotional buoyancy that is much needed by some and well fed by all.

3 pointsWell spotted. I'd not noticed the single antler. He is a roe stag though. They cast antlers in November to December.

3 pointsClear sky and a crisp 38F this morning. In the tree from 5:30 -11. Had a small 6 point walk by at 40 yds. One more week of bow season.

3 pointsShe slept on the truck last night cant wait to get it unloaded and fix the float issue and drive it
-
3 pointsMy GT14 prototype going to do a full photo layout of this special tractor 1of 1 .......I think
-
3 pointsJust 4 pins hold it on. When they bend I get new ones. This set up got me out of a jam once. My plough tractor broke down and I had to plough about 10" of snow and still had to get to work.
-
3 pointsThank you! Im going to add a full length 3/16 inch subframe that bolts underneath the rear end. This tractor will be permanent loader machine

3 pointsYerr pritty bright to remember the gas switcherer. I'm guilty of getting awful flusticated (yes that's a real word) when some machine or another won't start. "Is the gas on?". Nope.....

3 pointsYesterday, we finally winterized the pool and covered it, I made a wise decision to snag an RJ35 and new 450 Bushmaster rifle, then sighted it in. I feel like I’m missing something or three. Today, moving stuff around in the shop, making room for winter storage, making plans for the future. That sounds sophisticated! In all reality, I miss my ‘99 Chevy 4WD and ‘69 Chevy C10 and the Jeep and buggy, plus have Norman, so there’s no real reason to have a brand new truck with payments. Mrs. P agrees, I fix up the old stuff, I can sell the new! I picked up my recovering buddy and he apologized for his drunken actions too, which was very big of him to admit. I told him that I’ll carry him home from the bonfire if need be, but if I have to carry his casket I was gonna kill him. He agreed. We cleaned and moved stuff around in the barn and made very big storage progress!

3 pointsI had to do the same to my 854. A sheet metal shop should be able to do it for you.

2 pointsYeah, Sears - or at least a clone, Ive got one. I loved that thing, had it on a Suburban and was building my house then and I doodled dirt with that thing like crazy, What was so nice was I could put down pressure on the blade with my hand on that lever and it was great. I could spread a 10 yard load of dirt/gravel in about half an hour

2 pointsWell, guys, I did finally find the ID plate for the sweet sixteen. they painted it heavily, so I used some 1200 grit and water to reveal the numbers. 16K802 17383 6108 Some other things I did was to clear out the garage so I could get the trucks serviced--5 wheel horses in there are too many. Of course the wood shop has to be re-arranged as well to hold three more. The lift table will lift up to 42" off the floor, so they roll right in to the shop. The last pic is taken from the lift table with the c-160 ready to roll to the lift. For now, I have the heavy connectors from the battery and the starter /solenoid lugs all cleaned up. i took some old copper pennies and turned them into washers to make better connection to the lugs. I found out that the solenoid does not work. it clicks, however, so I will try drilling a tiny hole in the cap and putting penetrating oil in there. That has worked before, and i figure the OEM is still better than anything new from china. While everything is pretty much down, I removed the voltage regulator to clean the connections and try to figure out why the electrons are not moving through the switch wiring correctly. one of the wires is just a stub coming out of the rear of the switch, so I need a diagram for that five wire plug/switch with only four wires left. I might just have to do a hasty wire engine tester to hear this tractor run

2 pointsThis morning my Nephew and his 8 yr old son hunted with me for the first time at the Family Farm. I put them in my back pasture stand. It has a fairly good record of yielding a good buck opening weekend. This 9 pt with 2 buttons came out and the 8yr old was too nervous to shoot so my Nephew shot it. He’s harvest 2 doe elsewhere in other years, but this was his first buck. It measures 14-1/2” wide at the widest point on his main beams. Here we have a 13” minimum width (outside the ears) Restriction. So now we’ll see how I do the rest of the season. This morning I hunted in my front pasture stand that is in a creek bottom. I had 11 doe, a spike, and a 4 pt. Plus 3 squirrels and a several red birds. A nice busy morning watching wildlife
