I woke up the 520H with the snowblower a few weeks ago and noticed it didn't appear to be charging. It's at my mother in law's 100+ miles from home so I had to put it away 'til this visit. In the meantime I read all the threads I could find about 520H no charge, overcharge, meter accuracy, and so on. In one of the threads WVHillbilly520H suggested that the voltage regulator (or R/R) was a common failure and the cheap Chinese knockoffs usually work OK, so I had one waiting when I came back. Started it up when I came back, Voltmeter in hand, and sure enough I just had battery voltage on the center lug of the regulator from off (key in on position) to idle to full RPM. Pulled the old regulator and tried to install the new one. Didn't quite fit, but I recalled someone writing that the little locating tabs on the new one might need to be filed a bit. They did, and after some file work the new one slipped right in. Checked resistance from the regulator housing to the battery and it was a few tenths, so I figured it was time to start it up. It started fine and the meter now showed charging. In fact at full RPM the tractor's meter was in the red. Overcharging? Another thread suggested double checking with the handheld voltmeter, and sure enough the voltage off the center lug of the new regulator never went above 14.8, even at full RPM. I'm going to trust the handheld meter and call it a day. Thanks for the help from all the people who posted on the earlier threads.

This has probably been discussed or posted before on Red Square but I was going through RJ and Suburban transmission parts boxes today for someone and came across two #3525 Cluster Gears. Interesting to note that from the 1958 RJ three piece transmission thru 1974 B-80 Wheel Horse tractor transmissions ( and I am sure later models also) that the cluster gear is the same! the only change appears to be a one half inch longer center shaft on the #3525 Cluster Gear for the later two piece transmissions versus the three piece ones.

OK a few hours early...but meet Cyclops. Richard, 953Nut @953nut should recognize her. Spent the last couple years on loan to a neighbor mowing his 2.5 acres. This year he bought a new Kubotoa 2601 with deck and FEL (about $20k) so she was excess. I didn't need another mower but I did need a Paver Plow Tractor.. 98% of what i plow is dirt. However there is about 60 ft of pavers and the other half prefers they not be scratched up. Some PO painted her black and since painting is not something i like she stays that way.. Added a LED head light (she never had lights) fitted front mount to have a plow aligning pin and added some front weight. Can't use my normal roller chain. Rear has rubber chains and 65 lbs weight on each wheel.. Added a Wheel horse parts and more receiver hitch, (have to find some more weights to hang on it), and added a poly plastic blade edge. The light is a single but it is really really bright. (Note in 20 years i have plowed snow twice after sunset... once just to check out some new LEDs I put on my main plow tractor.. You can't beat Charger/Electros for winter duty.

Personally 'nut i like to use a blower ... I wanna see it leave! That said if a blower wasn't available I would say a plow. I have used a loader and it works but too time consuming and not much of a float option as Ed said. Used a plow on a four wheeler and that always worked ok. Had plenty of WH plows pass thru here but never used one. Problem I always had with a plow is running out of room to stack it if alot of snow and a long winter. Blowing does away with that problem.

Take a stare at this picture for a moment or two and see if you can find what I thought was mildly amusing when I sat down in my Big Bear Chair recliner yesterday evening. Now for those that are interested in Old Time Americana, high quality factory materials, USA made products, woodworking, or green chairs... I'll just take a second to note that this chair was made at Athol Table Factory in Athol Massachusetts which is the town I was born and raised in. Now if you haven't already zoned in on it look between the rungs of the back of that chair. This sits in my living room. That's a can of brake clean. I wonder how many other average Americans have a can of brake clean in their living room? Please feel free to share your own pics and posts.

He climbed over a barbed wire fence? String a cattle electric fence wire along it. That could really tickle his assets.

Sometimes a few friendly Words face to face solves more than a phonecall or even a letter. So you make his driveway in the past, that tell‘s me you know where he lives. Stop by and try firstly talk to him friendly and peacefully, that your wildcam catches him on your Property. If he will pass it in future, he may ask before for permission. Tell him that you are responsible for that property to save and watch it. Because of your responsibilities you have to know what‘s happen on this ground and who‘s hunting there. Than you will se how he reacts, that would be my way to try it firstly in a friendly Way first. maybe he didn‘t realize that or he imagine not he is on your property.

The property map on your township website is not an official survey, most likely just tax map information and most likely not 100% correct. Make sure you know where your property lines are first by the deed and survey. I have been dealing with this line of work along time. Talk to a surveyor first

Starting a slow restore to a C-160, Today she got a new fuel tank, and different tires. Started it up and went for a ride under her own power, first time since '08. Next comes finding the fuel leak, looks like a bad hose. and maybe some cleaning of the oily parts.

Yes correct Lane and the 953 pumps have the rabbit ear or double curl spring in them with a lift cylinder that comes apart like H-2 and H-3 cylinders. The 1054 pumps had the butterfly spring in them and they also have a needle bearing on the pulley shaft and they have an all welded cylinder like the tractors with the HY-6 hydraulic systems. The big difference in the HY-2 and HY-3 is the main bell crank or rock shaft 1961/62 for the HY-2 and 1963/64 for the HY-3

I would talk to him personally, you already know one another, just explain to him you have friends hunting on your land and would like to keep hunting pressure down. I have some land I hunt and I don't post it, hunt it a lot, I have had a few people on it at times, some I know some I didn't, I just tell them this is the only place I can hunt because of my disability, need to use a four wheeler to get in and out. They most times apologize, and don't hunt it again and offer to help me set up stands or track if I need help. You never know some people can be funny about deer hunting, risk friendships over it, not me. I think person to person is best.

Sadly an issue in many areas of Michigan, especially during hunting season. I would post signs behind property lines as noted above, add a camera or two to insure coverage, and then if it happens again take the video and discuss with law enforcement, which I assume is your Sheriff, unless Township has a Police Department. By adding signs and then documenting you eliminate him claiming there was no posted signage...

Getting there . Got seat worked out. It’s adjustable back and forth and readily removable when not in use. It can be used on either side .Perfect height to use it standing and sitting is very comfortable also keeping back straight and correct distance to wheel. I can mount it with no worries no movement whatsoever. got treadle worked out. Coming up with some fully adjustable tool rests.

I have a Hatz 10hp air cooled diesel in one of my tractors. IT IS AWESOME !!! I have yet to find enough work to make it pull on the governor. On light duty it takes about 10.5 hrs to burn up 1.5gal of fuel. Pulling a 10" Brinly plow it takes about 6hrs to burn up 1.5 gal of fuel. If you are building a puller check your local club rules, some clubs don't allow diesels.
