8 pointsthat’s cousin Jethro! I few months back THREE (that part’s important) guys at Home Depot loaded a car roof in similar fashion, using the free white string to tie round and round through the back windows, to the trunk latch, probably the antenna... WHEN THEY STOPPED TYING AND WENT TO GET IN THE CAR... the guy who drew the short straw had no way to get in the back seat!

6 pointsIn my own defense,When I redone my 701 years ago I had no idea about all this support that is on this site and figured I would have a hard time finding any parts to help with the restoration of the 701. So I found a seat at tsc that has worked real well for years and made my own dash out of aluminum that has also worked for years.Having said all of that I now have been trying to round up a few parts to put my 701 back to original as possible.Got a square pan seat to replace the tsc seat that is on it now, thanks to rjg854.Now Im trying to get hold of Glen Pettit for a repro dash and cant seem to get a hold of him.If anyone has his ear could you have him get in touch with me?Thanks

6 pointsWalking through the back yard after putting the Horse in the shed this afternoon and spotted something odd, so I got the camera and snapped a picture. The evergreen tree in the picture is a cedar down by the lake. If you look carefully. you can see that the top section of the cedar is framed by a couple of small oak tree branches from two different trees that are some 50 or 60 feet further away from shore than the cedar tree. What caught my attention was how well these small branches matched the shape of the cedar tree.

6 pointsBench keeps evolving. Was able to score a long looked for vintage industrial articulated light at a reasonable cost. It will be invaluable for those tasks which are not so easy on the aging eyes. As a bonus it will allow me to occasionally warm up stiff hands.

6 pointsThis Gilson snow blower is on a local auction site. No interest to bid, but plenty of interest to share the awesomeness!
-
6 pointsHow about this one? train came off the end of the line and sat on top of a plastic whale sculpture.

6 pointsA few different things come to mind. I wish I'd bought that car with the roof racks Hey you got any extra bailing twine? How much do you think this will affect my mpg? Remind me to stop on the way and pick up a few cans of spray paint for my roof. Hey Zeke did you bring those Oversized Load signs? How come pullstart doesn't use his roof in addition to the bed? How many beers does it take to balance a snow machine on a four-door sedan? I genuinely wish I could say this surprises me but I live in Maine......
-
5 pointsBetter alert @pullstart... I think he starts with about 3’ overhang and goes up from there...

4 pointsI'm going to mention a few names in this thread but if you folks know anybody who's close to this area or if you happen to be traveling through please do share the info... H. A. Mapes over on route 224 is now selling 90 octane NON-E gas right at the pump. Price this morning was $2.89 which is roughly HALF what the airports are selling 100+ octane for. Mostly to satisfy my own curiosity I'm going to check with management when I get time because I know it's been pretty much a nightmare to get non-ethanol fuel here in Maine unless you own an airplane. @JCM @WheelhorseBob @Stepney

4 pointsIt's alot like how many gays in the milltary these days ..... don't ask don't tell. Not counting parts tractors or non runners which can never be counted by the international rules of hoarding I am safely under 30 . Cindy just keeps tally just in case I croak and she knows what she has to get rid of them for if my life insurance doesnt pan out. I always told her just give the whole herd to Dan but she doesn't see it that way. I won't give a rat's @ss I'll be dead. Smart girl.

4 pointsAfter further investigating, in WI you can not have anything hanging out past the vehicle on the left side & your only allowed 6" hanging out past the right side of the vehicle. Soooo i guess this was their violation. This by the way is what they received a warning from the state patrol for. The driver also received a warning for running a Minnesota plate on a vehicle that he had drove in the state of Wisconsin for several months. Stating that he did not get around to registering it yet after he purchased it in the Twin Cities early this spring. He did how ever receive a $10 ticket for not wearing his seat belt. That'll teach 'em !

4 pointsThank you all for the birthday wishes. Every day is a good day. A year ago I wasn't sure I'd see this one. Start what the Dr thinks will be the last round of chemo next week. Things are looking good.

4 pointsSimilar story. I was at a U PULL IT wrecking yard a few years back. I walked past a complete Lincoln Town Car on my way. As I was there, A group of shall I say Latino's descended on it like a swarm of locusts. I came past this car on my way back and it looked like @WHX24 and @Achto had mafia'd it. I go out to the parking lot and these guys are loading their Town Car parts into and on another Town Car. There are 5 of these guys and they had taken everything but the air in the tires. I just stood there watching. They had fenders in the front seats! I have no idea what they were thinking but once everything was tied down they finally realized they had no way to drive this thing home!
-
4 pointsHonestly... most people don’t use their steering wheel very often anymore, so why have them?
-
4 pointsTheir only real violation was that they for got to measure the length of the sled. I'm quite sure that they were over the maximum 102" width.
-
4 pointsIf it is secure and you can see the lights then it should be OK. 😃 Over here we would try dangerous parts or condition, insecure load, maybe even dangerous driving. Of course the guy could just say it landed there while they were driving along.

4 pointsHonestly Officer I have no idea how the accident happened! I sneezed real hard and the next thing I knew I saw all these cars crashing.
-
4 pointsC'mon Eric that's no fun. Now I won't be able to get my feet caught in the steering wheel while trying to use my turn signal.

3 pointsWhen sometimes I need a scroll saw for pierced work but I don’t want to go through the hassle of installing and removing blades for every cut on a regular scroll saw I use this rare accessory. It is made by Bosch for their saws but it may work for others. Quick to set up and works great. There are very thin blades for scroll work available for this saw also.

3 pointsSpent the afternoon in high gear and at 1/2 throttle sweeping leaves. Looking up in the trees, it seems that I'm about 2/3 done. Lots of oak leaves still in the trees. All I had to do at the lake house was to blow the leaves that collected in the 'wind shadow' of the house and sheds into the open, making 3 or 4 sweeper loads. The rest of the lawn was blown clean (piled on to the fence at the main house) by the high winds we've had the last couple of days. At least they are dry and are burning well.

3 pointsOur lord is a merciful and forgiving God. You need to begin by forgiving your sef for your transgressions, big or small. That was one of the most difficult lessons I ever learned, but it is life altering. During my darkest days I learned the Serenity Prayer and if taken very literally and applied to your daily life it can be a positive influence. God, grant me the Serenity To accept the things I cannot change... Courage to change the things I can, And Wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, Enjoying one moment at a time, Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking, as Christ did, this sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it. Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will. That I may be reasonably happy in this life, And supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.
