11 pointsThis belongs to someone in the guitar shop where I work. And it's red as well. This one I believe is all original. Not sure about the white walls. Enough metal in this truck to build three of mine thats sitting next to it!!

11 pointsHello All, Today a deal that was made years ago was reversed... Russ and I had made some deal and I got his GT1800. Well Russ got a 520h along the way and simply didn't like it and wanted his GT back. We made another deal and the GT1800 again sleeps in his garage where it should be. We all have tractors we wish we could get back... Enjoy it Russ !! And THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE GREAT U.S. OF A.! @SALTYWRIGHT

11 pointsGet today a delivery of some Steel i wait for. like to built a Frame myself from Scratch.. firstly find the needed lenght, i like to have. i ended up from rearaxle to Tip with 1,60 meter. than i cutted the lenght and use the Bandsaw and later the Grinder to cut angles in. i cut the Angles a bit wider, because i will reinforce the welding sections later. so i be able to bend it in the Vice to my destination angle i need. Short verification after bending. doesn‘t look too bad. when i lay it on the floor in correct dimensions, i check, if my Plan will work. It seems i can go further forward with my Project..

9 pointsI was an idiot and posted my own real name as my user name. Now it seems I have to make an entry before I can change it, so here it is. You may find in the future I am a bigger idiot than you already expect. Greg here btw

9 pointsI have wanted a Wheelhorse for a long time. They just didn't seem tp pop up very often in my area. Then a few weeks ago a C-141 Automatic showed up on Facebook, and I snatched it up. I want to do a complete rebuild on it, unfortunately, I don't think the weather will allow it this year.

8 pointsI imagine if need be, a set of 12” weights can also be added. I’m not sure how necessary they are, but more weight is always better! These also seem to stick out more with the 5 lug hubs and the 12” wheels, I am considering a 6 speed swap with shorter axles to bring them inboard a tickle.
-
6 pointsSo, @PeacemakerJack and I took a chance on these 27x7.50-12’s last weekend and they performed like monsters! I just ordered another set of them, but in the 10” wide fashion. I tubed and filled mine and haven’t weighed them, but have extreme traction. For my 7.5’s, I used a set of wheels (5” wide?) off an original 6-12 setup. I’ll likely use 7” wheels on the 10’s and fluid fill them the same. As for what to put them on? The 1054 “Joe” that I brought to plow day just needed a set of 1-1/8” hubs swapped from a 12” wheel tractor and we were in business! The best part about these tires is the price! Well other than the traction they offer, of course. I found a few deals on eBay for a little over $220 for the pair shipped.

6 pointsYou have to watch those Lawnboys, when you're asleep, they seem to reproduce. This is some of them, I have 17 in storage. My wife.....
-
6 pointsIm building a custom right now, that has a 753 frame and i used a workhorse gt 1100 6 speed transaxle and i used the front axle as well. Also i ended up using 701 sheet metal and the last pic gives a idea of the mods made to tool box for the dipstick and u can get a general for were a hole was drilled for the hi lo shifter.

6 pointsThank you guys for the prayers...I know they work. I, Chris and Stacy have been avid mask wearers. We also keep a bottle of the soap in the vehicles. Somehow, that nasty stuff got us, but I still believe in wearing a mask and separation. We all have the same symptoms at this point...headache, raspy throat and cough, slight fever 100-101, shortness of breath, ache all over and chills. The raspy throat and shortness of breath is what scares me. Just getting out of bed and you are trying to breath deep. No taste and no smell and nothing sounds good to eat, but that's OK...not hungry anyway. Hot tea with honey and lemon are very soothing. Getting pressure behind the eyes. Sleep one of two hours at a time. I pray none of you catch this.

5 pointsI was able to play with my new grader blade after work today. A friend of mine had some gravel delivered & I offered to smooth it out for him. The challenge. My C141 with a grader blade in action. After several side passes to knock the piles down things are getting close. The finished product. Playing with my grader blade was sooo much fun. I can't wait to find more material to push around with it.

4 pointsYou sure have been haulin the mail on projects lately Madge.... you tell W P to stick it in their ear or just burning the midnight oil? In the lower 50's here today so I said to heck with it & closed the shop & played hookie. Cleaned up the plow mules and their implements of carnage and greased them up for their winter home. Cleaned up four more, pulled batteries and stuffed them in the horse hauler winter home. See ya in spring girls. Blew out the pressure washer and then the sprinkler system/water supply to the warehouse... I hate winter!
-
4 pointsThe only thing I did to my WH today was look at it. But at least I got to look at it. Maybe I'll go check the oil again and see if it changed sitting since yesterday.
-
4 pointsI think Eric is right....reach out to Terry. Even if he didn’t make the one that fell off I bet he could match it.

4 pointsChanged the engine oil and the rear gear oil! (Also retrieved the rear end plug from the bottom of old engine, old gear oil, and who knows what....) and also finished running new wiring.
-
4 pointsought to be interesting. Kevin has access to a mill, lathe, welder, and a variety of powered hand tools. And most importantly, access to hammers and a standing invite to the local Ready Care clinic. I don't think he will have any trouble pulling this off - unless the project stalls like his dump truck project seems to have.
-
4 pointsIt's hard to let them go. I have turned down some really good offers on some of mine.
-
4 pointsAnything will fit with the aid of a torch and a hammer. Thought that I would drop in for some learnin'
-
4 pointsOk so they aren't Wheelhorses, but they are red. I inherited the first Massey from my father in law. I bought the second one last month. It's just that I never had the opportunity at a Wheelhorse before.
-
4 pointsOh, to have good young eyes like Jimbo. Yes, that belt retainer/,stop should be rotated CW so it just clears the belt when the clutch is engaged. Then when it is disengaged, it will pinch the belt. The bottom loop must be supported especially close to the engine drive pulley.
-
4 pointsYes i agree but a lot of times im just moving a machine a few feet. Pulling it in or out of the shed. No need to rev it up to 3,000 rpms for a short trip like that. When i am working them they stay at full throttle all the time no less. Regardless a centrifugal clutch is not for me. You guys have been a huge help im confident i can have it driving by the weekend!

4 pointsThat's kinda sad Jason. Not a handy man is not in most of our vocabulary here but i get how some are not. Hard to not take things mechanical which comes second nature to many of us for granted. A quick surf to a friendly quad site would have him up and running and the guy might even learn something. Guess not willing to learn? Lets all remember that when a newbie who is "not handy" pops up here.

3 pointsI have always wanted a Wheelhorse, and recently one came up for sale in my area. so I jumped on it. I have rebuilt a LOT of Lawnboys mowers, a couple of Massey Ferguson 14 garden tractors, and 1 John Deere. I plan to do a complete rebuild on this C-141 also. I have a couple of questions if I could. Here is a tag from the mower deck. Someone had it pinched under a piece of metal on the deck. I would like to know if anyone is reproducing them, and where the tag was located on the deck originally. Also, I am trying to remove the steering wheel. The spiral pin drove out fairly easily, but the wheel is stuck to the shaft. There doesn't seem to be a center cap on the wheel that can be removed to facilitate using a puller. I could use a bearing separator, and a slide hammer, but I worry about what damage I may cause to the dash and elsewhere. I would be willing to drill out the top of the wheel, but only if I had another one in my hand to take it's place. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Greg

3 pointsSo today I received my first Social Security Pension payment. Its a good thing but it has me feeling a little old.Feeling shouldn't last too long hopefully. Been pondering for a little while to stop doing work so I decided today that it is it. I will no longer look to do any work for others. Thankfully I did not need to do it anyway for a long time since I already collect a very decent pension from the Carpenters Union anyway and do not owe anyone anything.. I do however enjoy my work, so now all work will be dedicated to us here and my children. Going also to concentrate heavily on passing the craft to my grandchildren the oldest one in particular now since he has taken a serious liking and aptitude for it.

3 pointsA gt14 front grille is deeper and will fit but you may need to drill more holes in the frame. The gt14 has two holes in the lower grill and the two on the fuel tank plate that hold it in place. The 953/1054 grille shell is held on with two small square Ubolts that bolt underneath. U could just use bolts. The hood is 3” shorter on a 953/1054 but the same shape. I am using a gt14 hood on Karen’s 1054 on the gt14 frame. Frames are the same length but the front axle is mounted further forward on the 953/1054 as is the grille if I remember correctly. Hope this makes sense. You have my number 👍

3 pointsEspecially at 6 g’s for a tractor with shiney wheels and no sentiment. I’d rather put one to work or at least put around in it for that matter.
-
3 pointsI personally never had the hankerin for one. Just can't see havin a tractor you shouldn't be putting hours on no less than working it. I'd take one it was given to me tho. I'd probably want to turn it into a plow mule... Member here in southern WI has two of them.

3 pointsSame here very hard to let things go. In my case a lot of what I own was my late dads. A lot of good memories. I need the money right now I am struggling but sometimes you I just cant sell even tho I should. I wont let my family suffer but I wont just sell because. We have my wifes commando v8 for sale to help us out. She don't really want to sell and I don't either but out of everything we have we decided to sell it. my wife gets choked up and i do to but you do what you have to to take care of family. I have already sold a few of mine to help. We are at that point tho where we will most likely keep what rare other machines we have. We own around 15 machine the ol commando v8 is number 16. We will miss it very much when or if she gets sold. We have lots of good memories. My wife bought it from my late dad many years ago.

3 pointsHey Boyd, get with me...I have a snowblower you can have, if you don't already have One? Probably even delivered, since you live near by. I have never used it, but got it in a package deal. It is complete with flag and belt. It is not a show piece, but the auger spins and i believe it is usable. It has been sitting in my backyard for a couple of years, semi-covered. I have one everywhere I plow, so I don't need this one. Don't want to see it in the backyard anymore, and I don't want to see it go to waste.
-
3 points@Jhook I've played the belt and pulley game with two machines, invented my own vocabulary and threw half my tools across the shop before figuring it out. A small tab near the engine pulley and below the trans pulley can work, but belt length is EXTREMELY critical, and then when you're done you have a machine with no belt guard and although it looks cool, just aint the safest. These guys hit the nail on the head- something running along the outer edges of the belt, mainly the bottom half, and you should be good. While I'm here, as for 'what have you done to your Wheel Horse today?' Not as much as i'd like to, that dang thing called responsibility getting in the way lately. Its overrated I did, however, FINALLY get the little emulsion tube/rod freed up in the 655 carb so it idles and performs correctly. Cut the grass again yesterday. Still cant get over just how capable that puny little 6hp is. The more I run it, the more I love it. Dont think this one will be leaving the stables anytime soon. Is it a Kohler? Heck no, but really starting to believe the only thing that truly sucks about a Tekky is that stupid carb design. We battled that issue back in the day when racing karts- very few engine issues, tons of carb issues.
-
3 pointsJust a thought on cutting the shaft. When I did mine, I cut it at an angle so it would naturally go back together in the correct alignment.

3 pointsHelped an injured grass snake which was laying in the road. We only have three species of snake in the UK 🇬🇧 grass, smooth and adder which is the only poisonous one. Our boy was about 2 feet long so probably 10 to 15 years old. Unfortunately he died but we recorded him for our wildlife survey.

3 pointsWelcome to the forum Greg. I make a thick brush chrome and black decal to apply over the original metal tag. I m not sure about the first numbers on your deck tag but here is what I read it to be.
-
3 pointsThe belt brake on a 1055, this is factory. Just throwing ideas at ya.
-
3 pointsYepp. I did a pulley swap on a tractor that I'm not sure had the right belt guard in the first place. I riveted a "shelf" just under where the belt rode with the clutch OUT. When the pedal was pushed in the belt would sink to the lower lip of the guard as it should and also the shelf I put in. Worked slick.
