20 pointsSo for quite sometime I had this shed . At the time I got it it was just put on blocks since i did not have time for any footings. Sure enough over the years between the flood which placed a ton of sediment against the front of it and the tunnel system underground by Mr Ground hog , the sill plates rotted and the whole shed was virtually collapsing on one side. Had to raise entire shed replace all sills this time doubling them ,dig and pour footings. Decided to also make a deck in front. It’s been three weeks of hard work all by myself but finally except for some paint on replaced parts she is looking good. Even wife got into it and made some valences for windows and put candles at windows. Incredibly she also asked me to place one of the 35s as an ornament there. Center section of fence is clipped in with z clips and comes out to place ramp when needed. I ordered a nice long ramp of aluminum 7-6” x 48” long.

12 pointsTook a few pics of the new to me C 160, and 48" Deck.......and optional goodies that came with it

10 pointsI’m just looking for videos or others that have these gt14’s with the deck on. I got mine fully functional today and let me just say that I loved it and I mowed probably a half an acre of 35 degree slope and it did amazing with all the weight! If you have one, tell me about it or post pictures and if not tell me whatever you want on it! Also I should mention that I only have $350 in this entire setup!

9 pointsShe diffently got the wheels ran off of her. Few nifty mods. The seat has a old car coil spring under it. Duals are just bolts with tubing for spacers. Right engine but the oil fill is in the base like older B&S engines did. No fill in the top of block like my other K161 engines of same era. My other K's do have the flat spot on the oil pan but no hole. Good part is it's all there, just needs a good rubdown.

7 pointsSounds good chief!!! Norman is doing his job as he should. A couple of mechanics from the church we are currently at in Dayton, OH area agreed to install my new trailer hitch on the Excursion! What a production! 18 years in the salt belt and this factory receiver was JUNK! Completely rotted on all four sides and removal of the six bolts was challenging but nothing compared to the final two—warning to anyone needing to change their Excursion receiver hitch! The Feds determined that the Excursion fell under the station wagon category and because of its 44 gallon fuel tank in the back, they didn’t want the vehicle ever driven without the receiver since it was a protection from a rear impact collision. I guess they figured it would help to keep from an impact explosion on a gasser. Anyway, two of the bolts have round heads. We didn’t realize this when we started to take it apart. The most efficient way to do it would be to drop the fuel tank out, heat those two bolts and spin out with a pipe wrench. In our case, we used a Sawzall and about 4 blades through the grade 10.9 bolts! The installation only took about 25 minutes once the old rusty one was out! Many thanks to those guys for tackling a rusty nasty project👍🏻👏🏻

5 pointsHard to believe this was built way back in 1986. I always thought this was a bit of an odd looking truck because they went well away from the standard farm tractor huge tires. Wait till you see it with regular road tires for transport..... https://www.thedrive.com/news/36981/bigfoot-looks-extremely-goofy-on-regular-sized-tires

5 points11.28 mpg hauling the camp rig... close to 10k lbs! That’s about 1 mpg improvement and I’m guessing it’s due to turbocharger and airflow modification!
-
5 pointsGot the 42"SD ready for winter storage. Scraped and wire brushed and oiled top and bottom. Sharpened, polished, and balanced blades. Coated with oil. Idler sounded dry, so worked in some MM oil. Sounds much better. The belt was cracked. I searched my belt dept.( A 55 gallon barrel full), and found a new WH belt.

4 pointsLet’s not go there. We have an agreement in town here. They don’t bother me and I stay quite.

4 pointsI sold the Texas truck’s back bumper the other day, the guy who bought it was hauling a bobcat and the bumper broke in half... hitch dropped down to the ground!
-
4 pointsSaw it quite a few years ago at the 4x4 jamboree in Bloomsburg Pa. The girl I was going with at the time could stand up inside those wheels. And yes, she was out of school....
-
4 pointsTest today if the 8“ of the 656 will fit on the 212 Horse.. yap, they did, so also increase the Deckwheels at one inch At least i build a Welder cart out of some scrap material i had laying arround. So the Welder fits under the Table and is able to beeing moved whereever i deed it.

4 pointsSomeone near me wanted to trade his 1949 Farmall C for my 1950 Cub. He also threw in some cash, so I have been wanting something bigger than my 1944 Farmall B, though I was thinking a Farmall H, but a C or Super C was also on my mind. So why not? This one will need some TLC, but it does run and drive good. I have since remove the cultivators and will put them up for sale. I just don't need them. On a related note, I also got a "free" No. 8 Little Genius 2-12 moldboard plow. It will need tires and also some TLC. I will need a plow hitch now.... Unfortunately the C will need rear tires - one holds air, one will hold air for a few days. I probably will regret getting this C as tractor tires in that size will cost a lot.

4 pointsThe GT-14 is a great worker, mine has a front end loader and is a real back saver.

4 pointsI put a 8 speed in my 953, this may sound crazy but it works. I took the half with the hi low shifter and mated it with the other half of the original trans. Been working great for Years. This is the second time I've done this. I plan on Bringing my 953 to the plow days in a few weeks pullstart if you want to check it out.

4 pointsChanged both Frontwheels, think it ain‘t looks Bad... The Workshop is ready for project‘s... Ok, maybe i shall cleanup the Desk before.. 😂

3 pointsThere's a few people I need to thank off the bat @johnnymag3 for selling me an engine, that runs great @953 nut for suggesting Garry @gwest_ca for coming up with a wiring diagram that converted a 86 312A to the Raider Most especially to @squonk for his witty banter watching me work. His knowledge and bringing his pullers so he could change the drive pulleys on the engine to convert the automatic pulley over to the gear drive. Then pulling off a stuck on hub. And boy, was it stuck. Hope he didn't ruin his puller. So this is the Raider that was owned by one person for 52 years. It threw a rod and he didn't want to fix it. So I was able to salvage it for basically pennies. So obviously I changed the engine and rewired the tractor. Tightened up the tie rods. Drained the transmission and ran some diesel fuel through a couple of times before refilling it with gear lube. Repaired the transmission pulley for now until I can get a replacement. And took it for it's maiden voyage. For the most part I'm quite pleased with everything. There's some noise from the drive belt, of course the bushing on the steering shaft is shot so another rattle. All in all a good tractor it's a limited slip high low transmission. All gears and ranges seem very good and quiet. Got to put the rest of the sheet metal on but it's done other than some minor TLC. This is what I started with The original engine Pieces parts New engine Rewired Together We'll see where it goes from here, whether I just oil it down or go crazy on it

3 pointsHi guys, I brought this unmolested 161 Automatic home tonight. I bought it with the intention of a full restoration, I like working on tractors. But.....I love the patina on this thing! It hasn’t been hacked up like so many. Only known issue is a leaky left rear axle seal. Runs like a top without smoke etc. what to do!
-
3 pointsThat’s the one that sits outside the BigFoot shop in the St. Louis area all the time. I don’t think it gets used for much except display. Also, that body is the 1992 - 1997 style (I only know because my old wood hauling truck is a 94) but I’m sure it was probably built in the 80s and the newer body was installed at a later date. I like the 70s dent side style better but I’m kinda partial to my aero nose ‘94 as well

3 pointsHello from Oxfordshire, UK. Fellow Wheel Horse owners I am a newbie Wheel Horse owner, having bought my 1991 312-8 on the 20th Sept 2020 from a well known auction site. I have wanted a Wheel Horse for many years, I took the plunge and bought the 312-8 and so far it has lived up to my expectations. These American garden tractors are so well built. I am sure they will survive many more years despite the very wet UK winters. I have been working my way around the 312-8 and cleaning, repairing and replacing parts as I go. It now starts first turn of the key and the Kohler Magnum 12HP engine sounds great. The hours meter on mine currently reads 691 Hours. I am restoring it to as near original spec as I can and whilst not doing a full restoration, I am restoring/replacing any rusty parts/panels that I find as I clean up this great machine. I have attached a couple of photographs showing how my 312-8 looked when I found it and how it looks at the moment. The foot rests and side panels have been removed and are being treated for rust. They will be re-painted and back on the Wheel Horse as soon as time allows. This forum and its members have been a great source of help and advice in my repairs on "Little Red" I have found the owners operator manual, wiring diagram and parts list for my 1991 model all whilst searching and reading through the various posts in this great Forum. It was finding this forum and seeing the support and advice offered here that made me take the plunge and buy my first Wheel Horse. Already I know it will not be my only one and I am re-building one of my sheds so that it has double doors and enough space for two or three of these great garden tractors. Lefty 57

3 pointsGot a package today. Hub caps are in! Not sure if im going to run them as is, get them re chromed, or powdercoated.
-
3 pointsSo if you're bored, here's 6 full minutes of Hoss turning some more 'politicians and news media' (a load of horse apples) into the garden. Random gears and RPMs, from off idle to wide open, seeing what that hopped up K321 is made of. We need a 'videos only' thread! Or maybe there already is one?

3 pointsYou don't need no steenkin' lights. Just have Kevin bring some glow sticks from his pool....
-
3 pointsBest get some lights set up @WHX24 Sounds like there may be a night time corn hole tournament at plow day.
-
3 pointsThe seat looks like a fun ride. Might need a tube in that front tire......other than that, she's a beauty.
-
3 pointsYea they are different, but who knows what this ole nag went thru in the past 59 years. Good part is she is all there just a couple extra holes and part of hood cutout but all fixable. Next week I will see if engine has any life, it does turn over.
-
3 pointsI was a little low on coolant this morning but it could have been an air bubble. I’ll watch it

3 pointsSure, but if anyone considers anything from me 'instructional' I cannot be responsible for the outcome No arrowheads yet, just a lot of small rocks, a few spent shell castings, and a questionable animal bone or two. Back in NY in the southern Catskills near the PA border, when I was a kid, my great grandfather found 3 arrow heads while gardening- one was so perfect it almost looked fake. His neighbor dug up an 8lb cannonball, the local historian figures it was from the revolutionary war! That one made the newspaper. Would love to find something like that on the property.

3 pointsWhile on a run to pick up supper I spied this little beauty from about a 1/4 mile away. It was sitting at a used car dealership so curiosity made me stop to look at it on my way back home. ( supper could wait a few more minutes ). No plates on it, but no price tag either. Further curiosity may send me back while they are open to see what the story is on it. It's sooo purty.

3 pointsTrucks are hauling stuff, a bus is for hauling people. Hence my dislike for 4 door trucks with a 5.5ft box. Add a 10ft flat bed, trade the camper for a toy hauler. You can head to the big show with a couple tractors in the toy hauler & an empty truck. You can head home with a full toy hauler & a full truck.

3 pointsI'm going the 2in wider according to the wife. Wish there was another set. Sure would make it easier to widen them.

3 pointsI rolled out of bed at 3:40 this morning. Worked out doing martial arts with Trina and her Sensei from 4:00 to 4:35 via zoom. Got to work for 6:00 like usual. Still working at 3:15 Eastern Time. Intentions this evening are to go home and thoroughly research the inside of my eyelids...

2 pointsI received about 50% of my 2 orders from Jacks Small Engines tonight. When I called a few days ago they told me Toro shut down for 4 months. No way of knowing when I'll get the rest of the parts. Like the head bolts. The red hardware on the recoil has to go. Painting it black.

2 pointsWhat and interfering with our nite plowing?!?! We'll just round up all the horses with lights on!
