13 pointsWanted to see other people restorations. Always like to see the small details that were put in to make it different. Tell how long you’ve had it. How you got it. And 1 thing you changed when you restored it. And 1 or 2 pics of course. I’ll start. Here’s my 856. I got it earlier this year as a birthday present from my girlfriend. 1 of the many things I’ve changed is the color scheme.

10 pointsInitially I wasn't going to make this show, but some things changed Saturday mid-morning, so I picked up my son and the grandkids and made it to the show for the afternoon. I didn't get to take any tractors, but sure had fun with the grandkids. You will see the boys on lots of tractors, but I insisted the boys ask the owners before they climbed on them. Most owners really took to the kids having fun on their tractors. This is the broadest showing of all types of garden tractors I've seen here yet Pic heavy Baird Beaver Hit and Miss Powered Sheep Shearing Trailer little boy in BIG Case Tractor Oil Pull tractor running the threshing machine Scary old Dentist Office More Picture Tomorrow IMG_4268[1].MOVIMG_4265[1].MOV

9 pointsWent through a period of time for a few months when I lost interest in messing with the tractors, was having some issues at home, which ultimately resulted in Krystal and the boys leaving me. That really took a toll on my mood and willingness to work on projects for a while. But I’m slowly getting back to the old me, met a girl whom I’ve been keeping company with and she has shown an interest in the old tractors, which has led me to getting back into some of my projects. She told me a few days ago that she would like to have a tractor of her own to fix up and take to shows and parades. Some of you may recognize this tractor from 2-3 years ago, I owned and used it around the place some, before selling it to a good friend of mine. So when Tasha decided she wanted her own tractor, I figured a good starter would be an N series Ford. Made a phone call to Joe this morning, and after a couple hours of negotiations on a trade we will be bringing her home tomorrow. I still don’t know why Joe thought that he had to have this tractor so bad when he bought it off of me, we found it in the exact same spot in the pasture that I parked it when I delivered it to him. He had pulled the starter off of it for some reason, and after a short while messing with it, we opted to put some fresh fuel in it and pull start it. Didn’t take much pulling and we had it running

7 pointsI regularly refer to a " small drawer section for lots of smaller parts ". I was just there again today for some speed clips , if you do not have a HILMAN FASTENER CENTER , at your local h/w store , you cannot relate to what i am referring to . i have 3 of these stores in close range of me , and it always get what ever I want , and also a HILMAN WANT LIST , SO THE STOCK REPLACEMENT PERSON CAN GET ANOTHER DRAWER STARTED . mine are true value stores , but they are also in many others , often just seeing something , lets me get started on a project, keep improving , pete

6 pointsI wanted to start a topic on what crazy stunts and stories people have about there wheelhorses. Past or present. One story I have is our first wheelhorse was my sisters 753 It was the first wheelhorse my late dad ever bought we use to pull around a full blown hay wagon all the time with it. But the craziest story I have is when i was around 19 or 20. I put a set of duals on it and drove it threw my grandpas swamp I was sitting in water and the fly wheel was spitting water at me. That old horse was unstoppable. We beat on it and it always kept taking it. Its stuff like this that makes me love this old iron. This is some photos of that 753.

6 pointsJust finished painting the sheet metal on my 1988 520H. Does anyone know where the battery warning label goes. That was the only one I forgot to take a picture of. I painted the tractor with PPG single stage polyurethane. I spent so much time prepping, i figured i should do a little better than rustoleum. I used my Fuji HVLP turbine spray gun. Redoyourhorse.com decals were great.

6 pointsAll right all right I got to get in on this. We're going to file this one under crazy story. I don't have any pictures because my photographer was inside the house at the moment... Many of you know that Trina and I had a major oil spill in the basement about a year and a half ago. During the cleanup process of that whole affair about 40% of our basement floor had to be removed including the part that the oil tank was standing on. Because of that there was a 20 or 30 gallon stainless steel tank outside the house right where the fill pipes were. Basically right by the front corner that's at the driveway near my side door. That was also the point in time where we were doing final assembly on Cinnamon and of course that got put on hold for about a month. Well as things with the oil spill, DEP, EPA, insurance, HAZMAT Remediation and whatever else started to calm down we went back to work on my Horse. Eventually we got to a point where we needed to start doing some test drives so we could work out the bugs. Two of those bugs were ... for some reason the clutch was every kind of jumpy you could imagine but only once in a while. Another one was that the seat pan latch wouldn't quite catch just right every time. Those of you who have had 1975 or earlier horses are probably already adding up where this is headed. I was out in the driveway fiddling around and just driving around trying to figure out what was cooking. I let go of the clutch and it super jumped at the exact same instance that the latch let go. Worst part is, I knew about both of these. I had been fiddling with them as mentioned. I was DEFINITELY PREPARED for both of them to happen. Nope..... That tractor took off in third gear and the seat pan flew backwards. CINNAMON TOOK OFF AND BUCKED ME RIGHT OFF THE BACK!! Well I landed on the driveway right dead square flat on the small of my back with all four of my limbs sticking right STRAIGHT UP. Of course I was yelling all kinds of colorful language that would most likely make the most sour-mouthed person blush. It took me just a second to realize that I hadn't been hurt at all. Lucky. So I got up and ran over to the tractor which was proceeding to try to climb up that damn stainless steel super expensive was not owned by me tank. I was super impressed to find that the tractor did exactly 0% damage to that tank. That sucker was some kind of rugged. Right about that time BBT come rip roaring out the side door to see what all the hubbub was about. It took her somewhere near 3/10 of a second to figure out I wasn't hurt and also what had happened. I'm telling you people. She laughed so hard she was in great pain. I didn't think it was quite so funny at that particular moment In time but I knew why she was laughing and I couldn't hold that against her. Now? That was hilarious. No way around it.

4 pointsSunday I had the first chance to try out my WH mulching leaves. I don't have a recycler, just a standard 42" SD, but was happily surprised by how well it did. Without a mulching cover, it took quite a few more passes, but the leaves are gone. For now. And of course, when I was done, I parked her in the side yard and gave her a good cleaning with the air gun. Ain't she purty? Even for a "new" one?

4 pointsI sold a tractor to a fellow that came to the house with a 24 foot trailer behind his truck. Needless to say there's no place for him to be able to turn that thing around using his truck. So I told him to unhitch the trailer and I'd use one of my tractors. So I got out the 854 and backed the trailer out of the way so he could turn the truck around. Well backing the trailer was no problem, but pulling it was a different story. Once I started forward to be able to pull it to his truck, he had to hold down on the front of the 854 to keep it on the ground. But it did it.

4 pointsThe problem with these pull out drawers and bins is you have to be vigilant. They are installed in the store full and then that's about it. If you see a drawer getting low on supply, let someone (hopefully an adult) know. Next time you go back check that drawer again and keep reminding them. Within a year hopefully it gets refilled. You can't sell from an empty basket! When purchasing items make sure what you're pulling out of the drawer bin is what you want. All too often I'll be getting bolts or nuts and there are 1/4" in the 5/16" ect.

4 pointsTook the El Camino on its maiden voyage today. Was having hell getting the drive by wire throttle working. Pedal tested out good, as did the throttle control module, and throttle body/TPS. Still no throttle. Went to the local salvage yard that i frequent and got another pedal and throttle control module. No change. He didn't have another throttle body, and I was at my wits end so I bit the bullet and went to oreillys and bought a new throttle position sensor. Bolted it on the throttle body and all is good! Drove it down to my family's river place, about 15 miles each way as a shakedown run. Did great! Way more power than the 350 that came out of it was making! Now I just need to do something about the body..
-
4 pointsI did a little more work today on it. I fitted the rear tires and realized the fenders need cutting. Original plan was a 31" pulling tire but no chance that would fit so I am stuck with 26 x 12 x 12 will have to do lol.
