18 pointsI am thinking I am going to call this one "Columbo". This whole renovation has taken a long time and had been just "One more thing" over and and over. Still need to repaint front wheels. Project has taken so long it has 4 different paints. Valspar IH Red (can't find it anymore) Rustoleum IH red and Krylon IH red (really different.) and finally Rustoleum Regal red couldn't find anything else at the moment. (I hate painting....) Not bad for a $50 dollar purchase. Was an Electro 12 that had a K341 small base engine. Engine has been to machine shop .010 over and under. I resurfaced the Hydro slippers, valve block and pump base replaced some acceleration springs and a new anti slip spring in the 10 pinion. Rebushed the front axle pivot and new pivot pin. Added hydro lift. New home made tie rods. She has had a few shake down runs cutting heavy grass. Took awhile to get the carb dialed in. It is a more expensive Taiwanese one but took a lot to get high speed set, still not thrilled with idle but as hydro mower she won't be idling much. (the original carb was a Walbro fixed jet that I couldn't get to work well at all.) I have the electric PTO and it works but my preference is for the manual style.

10 pointsTried out the new camera and some slight editing. Looking pretty good but I think I need a barn/pasture background.

10 pointsPut a Jim Kemp @jimkempstack on the 1067. Old one went tink tink but just a tad obnoxious.

9 pointsI just got on FB market and clicked on a Case 210 when I went back to the main page this was just listed for what I thought was a no brainer. I got ahold of my cousin (I don’t do FB) to message him with a offer and he excepted (I probably could’ve offered less ) after being listed for 12min total. My cousin had to meet him yesterday at a fire station. Said a old man was cleaning out a shed and putting things on the curb and he scored it for free. This is the closest you can get to NOS and I think that it might be a factory hitch pin . He did replace the tires as he said the originals were to far gone. The wife isn’t to happy and I can’t wait to see the reaction from my son but it was to good to pass up.

9 pointsAdded chains and wheel weights to the 418-A so I could use the cultivator to dig up my sweet potatoes. Probably should have dug them up sooner.

9 pointsI spent some time working on the Charger hydro project. Trina and her mom were in the yard processing Firewood amongst a ton of other things. Finished up dismantling the plant supports from the garden boxes and stacked 3 trailer loads of wood after moving it from the backyard to the front yard. The pics below are what they did this afternoon. Trina got out her little electric chainsaw. They cut up 4 loads then moved it to the splitter. Stacked it. Split it all up. I spent bout 2 hours putting brush through the chipper. Part of clearing the back yard. I'll post pics of that project later.

8 pointsPicked up some new to me items yesterday. A new old stock. Toro classic hood in box, a Spyker spreader with stainless steel bin and an RJ PP-8 garden plow. the first two items came from an online auction in Lebanon, Indiana ( 6 new old stock hoods sold at last minute) and the RJ. Garden plow came from Larry Greener in Morgantown, Indiana.

6 pointsSince this thread began on the east side of the pond, I’ll say that I fitted Norman’s bonnet today and pulled him outta’ the shop! The only thing left is to vacuum the A/C system down and recharge it with fresh oil and freon.

6 pointsHere is a simple solution to removing an installing the transmission I came up with. It is high enough that the wheels and tires do not have to be removed.

5 pointsI'm thinking that transmission is cursed. I'd hang it on the front and put in a different one.
-
5 pointsWhat's a tractor without a hitch. This morning's project is just that. I can adjust from 8" to 9.5" to 11" in hieght. One side can adjust 1" up or down from being level and the hitch is set for 1.5" increments offset for side towing

5 pointsWasn't the first time someone got pulled off the plow field.... won't be the last!

5 pointsFriends and Family... The first two... my little Brother in Law is the Senior in High School who has already enlisted in the Marines! That’s Rylee on Putt Putt and Jada on another towed carcass.

5 pointsStill working on the cab. Sewing is definitely not something i enjoy doing yet, work has been busy so i havent even finished sewing one window on yet. Slowly but surely itll be done before snow falls
-
4 pointsYeah I’ll probably get jacked up about this posted but I have wanted to do this for along time and I am finally doing it. Started as a 1257 that was tore apart had some 702 fenders and tool box laying around and got the front narrow front for a friend that is very well built. Went and bought a 22hp vtwin for the sweet sound and this is also going to be used for field plowing here in about three weeks, everything is pretty much done I need to figure out some odds and ends. Anyone have experience with chain driven steering I would like some input on how big the front gear should be and how big the rear one should be, also how to Aline pulleys off the motor to the transmission and how big of pulley I should put on the motor. I will be pretty exciting to see how it works, all around if it gets done

4 pointsNot much just cleanout both Mowerdecks from the last sessions. After that Action i continouse to bring the Workshop more and more together on one Place. begin to establish the Workzones, implement shelves and cabinets. Prepare all for the comeing Winterseson.
-
4 pointsYep, I believe the rubber straps actually twist and act like a cut pulling tire when in loose snow. And they have better traction than steel on a bare paved driveway. Steel is better on ice. Weight=Traction
-
4 points@ebinmaine @pullstart. LOL You wouldnt want to see the shop at the moment. When I get on a build it's like a tornado hit. As far as tools on this build goes. Grinder with various wheels, drill press, hand drill, welder, oxy/act torch, hammer, vise, what ever I can weld the the bench to bend metal along with a wooden hammer form for the dash and basic hand tools. I do have a lathe but havent used it on this build yet. That's about it. I guess there is a Sharpie marker, masking tape and cereal box or 2 for templates. I mostly just wing it really.
-
4 pointsI might start using broken Norman parts to weigh down my plow rig, then we can drive over the scales to see the before and after like the biggest loser shows do!
-
4 pointsMan enough to admit it...I squeel a little bit too...when I'm on my new W-H Senior.

3 pointsNot much to report as its been a damp few days. Im almost done fixing the aluminium mower deck that has corroded badly. The glue I'm using the stick new sections of aluminium in looks pretty good so far and as soon as it has cured I will take the clamps off and get some pictures. Done a few bits on the community project but not much to write home about. Oh did another yoga class on Saturday, nice girl from Australia running it and i enjoyed it a lot.
-
3 pointsAwesome stuff, @Oldskool! How about a shop tour, what are your tools in house for the build? Hammer and a chop saw? Great work!
-
3 pointsThe biggest concern to me would be the pulley width. The belt that came on the older models is an "A" (4L) belt and with higher HP you would want to go to a "B" (5L) belt,

3 pointsHusband was with out wheels today so he took his horse to the stable to bring into town a horse to work on! He had to take a few pictures for me to post!!!!
-
3 pointsEric I think you are right about the chains on turf tires. We had enough snow to plow about 3 years ago here in Va about 15". I chained up and was able to get it done (gravel drive) but not in the most efficient way (lot of slipping) I need weights! Working on that...Thank you much!

3 pointsFound ya something !!! 10" long by 6" diameter, center cap and center petcock, mounting straps and bracket. Not too bad inside either but could use the cleaning described earlier. The cap is kinda funky and could certainly use a new one. It's probably a $50 + tank on epay but since this is RedSquare, it's yours for the cost of shipping if you want it.
-
3 pointsDont count me out of the upcoming plow days fellas!! My annual upstate NY bow hunting trip not looking good, I haven’t had a week off in a year, and I’ve been known to get a wild hair..... Picked up political promises (a load of horse s**t!) from my sisters stables and turned it into the garden today. Finally getting this clay loosened up, and ol Hoss is diggin deep! Yep, my sister has a stable full of horses too, but hers are all 1.0 horsepower and run on grain n hay.

3 pointsI am very happy . Happy you ended up with what you should of had a long time ago . Glad we broke the ice it’s been over 10 years in the making 😆! I’m asking for my casket 🤦🏻♂️ IMG_8271.MOV
