12 pointsHad them all out today, 310-8, 312-8, 502H and the imposter, 1956 Economy.
-
11 pointsWhat started out as a gloomy foggy day ended up quite bright when the sun popped out and five bluebirds had a pool party in my bird bath. They were then joined by a yellow finch.

11 pointsFinally was able to make it to a show today. We left the house at 6 AM to go to the Threshing Bee and National Two Cylinder Show in Fairview OK. Spent most of the day there, wasn’t able to take any of our tractors, but had a good time all the same. As soon as all the videos I took of the tractor pull, parade, and other activities finish uploading to YouTube I will post them here as well

9 pointsThe guy I got it from is a repairman that got it from the owner. It's got a broken rod, so he was going to scrap it. So I figured it's got many good parts on it so why not part it out. Better than going to the big corral in the sky.
-
9 pointsYes, considering the circumstances this year I was just glad to see it didn’t get cancelled, and was excited to see so many people come out. The show actually runs two days, but I wasn’t able to take off work yesterday and get a tractor ready to go

8 pointsFinally got to spend some time on the lathe today. Pulled a couple of blanks down from the top shelf and spun a couple of pieces. Not sure about the finish on the Urn.
-
8 pointsWell here it is. I'm going to use a black rubber front spindle cap as my center cap

6 pointsI was rummaging through some of the containers in the basement I came across this horn I have totally forgotten about! Still works! I believe it's somewheres around mid 1900s? IMG_8698.MOV

6 points@Stormin Some progress happened tonight in the form of my paint department throwing a little Navajo White at the front wheels.

5 pointsI have been enjoying making things with my mill and vintage Atlas lathe. This showed up local for a good price so I had to jump on it. I set up a small corner machine shop. Another nice Precision Mathews product. 1236 lathe

5 pointsThe repairman gave me the ignition switch, that's how I found the tractor. No I haven't determined if the rod is broken I was taking his word on that. I've been looking around for an engine and will probably sit on it for a while before I actually do anything else. I'd like to find an engine and get it going again. Time will tell.

5 pointsIt just taped a line at the bottom to thin the hood out a bit. The 2 slanted pieces of tape are possible cuts. The one furthest back is a full cut then invert the piece. The next one is a cut up to the flat area on top then bend it down to the same angle as the uprite thats under the hood, then blend in the side curves

5 pointsMy wife got bored sitting around the house since her back surgery, so we went out for a drive and found a small garage sale. I got all these hammers, wire stripper, Craftsman ratchet, and a DA sander with pads and paper for $25.00.

5 pointsDoing a little maintenance on this nice cool morning. Things are starting to squeak and carburetors need adjusting!

5 pointsI have posted several sickle bar mower and cutter bar mower parts sources on Red Square as I have owned one of every type of Wheel Horse sickle bar mowers over the years. I still have a 50 inch sickle bar mower made for the 953/1054 frame, a CBR-327 made for the 701 wheel horse (but could be used on several other models, and a CB-32 front cutter bar mower used on the RJ’s and Suburbans. I have also owned other 42 and 50 inch Wheel horse sickle mowers along with several 42 inch versions and a Haban 414 model made for Wheel Horse tractors. I was surprised to learn the other day from John Webb of Webb Cutting Components of Nebraska the not only do they sell two inch replacement knife blades that fit all the Wheel Horse sickle and front cutter bar mowers and 7/32 x 1/2 inch rivets, they also sell new drilled knife backs or knife bars for replacing your knife section. Now the 42 and 50 inch sections will have to have the end block (where the bolt goes isn’t to the wobble box pivot) rewelded on the end but the 32 knife back bar is an easier replacement. I do not have a cost or price for shipping one of these but I will be checking next week with John Webb. He indicated the knife back would be drilled and ready for reassembly which you would have to do yourself with the new blades and rivets. I just replaced all the blades on my 32 inch chain drive CBR-327 front cutter bar. I would like to get another 32 inch knife section made to allow it to be used in my RJ -32 front cutter bar as a replacement that has new sharp blades. here are some pics on my redo on the CBR-327 chain drive cutter bar.

5 pointsThat's a common problem with a lot of them during that time period. On my 500 Special I added a piece of stock to the front of the frame and solved the problem. This is the best picture I have of it. You can see it just under the bend rod that the hood pivots on.

4 pointsSnatched up a 312-8 today 5 miles from house for a super solid price! One owner, just maintained everything from belts to battery. I unloaded it, cut the grass for 10 minutes, got bored and fired up the 1277 to finish🤣 Whatta machine though! She will get a coat of wax and flipped to a new home in the spring. Also did a pulley change on Hoss (hey @WHX24 you read that??😄) went from 1.5 ratio to 1:1 and fit the belt guard as well. No more slip, no more aggressive clutch, and still about 8mph, plenty for a trail ride.

4 pointsNice sunny afternoon so mowed the green and verges. Could be for the last time this year.

4 pointsThis is just a preview of what it will look like when you are dead. Only difference, you can sit back and enjoy it now. Knowing that the man always dies 3 years before the wife...it is her horse...not yours!! Just try to wipe the smile off my face, if I came home to that. Look, the dog is sniffing where you used to stand.

3 pointsGetting ready to go to Home depot - 26 year old ceiling fan in the kitchen is starting to make noise when the fan is running . After 3 days of shopping online and eliminating all the units with the low light output of smaller bulbs think gonna go with this one . I've learned over the years with ceiling fans spend the money and get a Hunter .

3 pointsShe split, moved and stacked all that firewood. Buy her flowers, dinner and a six pack of her favorite brew. Put a bow on the beer and put it on the hood. Tell her it's from Cinnamon. Enjoy!

3 pointsGot some sets time today mowing the lawn. I was eyeing up the pile of oak leaves in the back corner of the yard as I was finishing up mowing. I slipped the horse into low range and started driving over the pile - repeatedly. Ground those @#/%^& oak leaves up almost into dust! I've noticed that the RD deck trends to leave a wind row behind the left blade. While grinding the leaves, I noticed that most of them exited the deck on the left side. I wonder if that has something to do with the missing baffle under the deck? Guess I'll find out, once I get around to doing some restoration work on that deck. Once I put the horse away, I started working on my 2001 vintage pressure washer that hasn't been used for about 15 years. It fires on carb cleaner, so I figured that the carb was gunked up. Pulled the carb and opened it up. Not much to it. I replaced the bowl seal, float valve and float valves seat. Cleansed out brownish crud in the main jet and any other passages I could find - weren't but a couple. Back together, and started on 3rd pull. Got to replace all of the o rings in the high pressure connections, as water was appearing in places that it should not have. The 1996 vintage chipper/shredder is next on the list for re-animation.

3 pointsUPDATE I have been swamped with orders and I'm still behind. so after some thought i will continue making the seats until its to cold in my garage to work. The lawn ranger seats i can sew all year long. I just precut all the foam for 8 seats now that its nice outside. The 953/1054 i can only do until its too cold for me to do them in my unheated garage. If i feel good next spring I'll continue if I can.
