13 pointsI have been enjoying making things with my mill and vintage Atlas lathe. This showed up local for a good price so I had to jump on it. I set up a small corner machine shop. Another nice Precision Mathews product. 1236 lathe

8 pointsHoly Cow Tom...Hoobie Doobie makers all over the place. If I make a drawing of a Hoobie Doobie...can you make me a couple.??? Dang, that thing even has a score board.

8 pointsGot the opportunity to use the FEL on mommas Big Red today for a use other than intended and it worked great... moved an old reclining couch around and placed it in the trailer to take it to the dump! What a back-saver!

6 points"We" may be playin with lectricity today. Shocking isn't it?

6 pointsJust a suggestion, Ditch the points system and update to the solid state system. Never again will you have to pull the fly wheel to deal with the points. This is as simple as replacing the existing coil with a solid state one, the points can just be left where they are and not connected to anything. Note: if wish to remove the points you will need to plug the hole that the push rod comes through, this is why I just leave them where they are. Briggs part number for a solid state 5hp coil is 397358, you can also use an aftermarket equivalent to save a little $. Here is one source for a coil. http://www.psep.biz/store/briggs_stratton_ignition_coils.htm

5 pointsCab is clean and ready for test fitting. Gonna have to make a few missing parts but plenty of time before winter. Might even put it on early and mow with it on if i can😂

5 pointsFinally got the transmission filters, so I changed the oil on the C160 and the 16 auto. Was mowing with the C160 when it just quit on me, seems the ignition switch went bad. Went to a GT repair shop here in town and the owner just happened to have a Raider out back that blew a rod and let me have the switch. All better now. Talked to him about the Raider and wound up buying it for a Grant. I'll go get it tomorrow. He told up until it blew the rod it was a good mowing tractor. Figured I couldn't go wrong for 50 bucks, lots of good parts. Pics to come tomorrow.

5 pointsI'm guessin Kevin was there to load the trailer ....right ?

5 pointsWe was up till 2 am entertaining friends from afar, in town for a wedding. Today, my cup will have plenty of coffee in it as I get ready to go help build the deck at my inlaw’s. The win, it gets me out of a graduation party later and I can still have my shop time!

5 pointsI happen to be a Generac employee. But don't tell my mom, she thinks I'm a DJ at an exotic dance club. Any way, let me know what you need & I'll see if the parts are still available or if an up grade can be done.

5 pointsOne of the best chipper/shredders ever made and still made https://www.mackissicchippers.com/ch.html Remove the recoil starter and you will come to a square shaft that will only rotate one way - the starter clutch. There should be a flat disc on the end of it with a small hole in it. Squirt some oil in the hole. That loads up a felt that supplies lubrication to a bushing in the center. When the engine is running the crankshaft is spinning inside the bushing. That is likely the source of the squeal. I think they recommend oiling it once a year. Garry

4 pointsWell went to a sale today and picked up this sweet little dump cart to go with my Simplicity tractor. I also picked up this little wood chipper but I am having a little trouble finding any information about it. I do not have a model # only a serial number. Runs pretty good. Recoil screams a little bit. Then stops, then screams again but then goes away. Also got this tow behind broadcast spreader. Picked everything up for 100 bucks. Pretty happy about it. If anyone has any info on the chipper I would like to hear it. Thanks

4 pointsAll right boys and girls. We got ourselves a situation. I was at work today. Busting my back and earning some clams so I could bring home the bacon. My female took the day off from work so she could spend the day around the ranch getting some stuff done. I come cruising into the yard this afternoon and what do I find? Aforementioned female and her mom have borrowed my Horse to pull the log splitter down from another location so they could use it next to the pile of logs in the back "yahd". See the hood of the poor poor Cinnamon Horse?? It has been undignifyingly and reprehensibly reassigned as an adult beverage shelf. The miserably wretched former stallion... WHAT SHOULD I DO??? Is the Horse going to need counseling? Does my female deserve reprimand? Should the log splitting earn time off for positive actions?

4 pointsI had the same issue on my 1075 Paul. As I increased the throttle, the belt would create a pull on the idler pulley forcing it down. The shaft the pulley arm is connected to was binding on the motion control pulling it forward. New tension springs, cam plate and a little lube where the shaft passes through the motion control cured it
-
4 pointsLet’s see...... I come home and the wood is split and moved. I had to do none of it. I really don’t see an issue here.

4 pointsMany variations I sure. Such as "Happy wife, happy life." Question is should we let our wives read this?

4 pointsPlan on using the Wheel Horse by mowing then to a drive thru fund raiser at Church. Fund raiser is for a local lady that a land slide damaged her home. All have a safe day. I remember Reddy Kilowatt and proud of that fact.

4 pointsThanks all for the thoughts It was either a CL or a FB Marketplace listing in Ma. I posted it here a few weeks ago when I dragged it home. It will stay a worker either way.... I have two grandsons who live in Maine but summer a lot here on the Cape, was thinking a good way for them to learn bodywork and paint. Never too young to start learning. AMC that is a beautiful resto and what I have in my mind, in reality I would probably do the mechanics, clean the frame and running gear, do a little sprucing up of exhaust etc. , and then repaint the tins. If its here it does get used. The problem is that other than a summer mower and a winter snow removal machine (LOL and maybe a spare Horse) I need the space for the zillion other projects around here.. So why am I continuing to buy ? Talk about addiction, and not being able to resist shiny new paint.... Mike B PS : I ordered a NOS front escutcheon plate a few weeks ago because I saw it on ebay, paid too much for it because it was, well, NEW....maybe it's too late and I am already over the cliff.

4 pointsRight here beside me this morning...stretched out on the couch. Have a good day at work today!
-
4 pointsHow are you going to get the kids to build any "character" ? Remember when we used to move all our heavy stuff by hand and go to school 2 miles each way all uphill with our feet? And the winter...... EVERY DAY was a blizzard! When we moved a couch to the curb it was carefully placed on our shoulders and hauled out on rough ground while barefoot and our knees were knocking because of the weight. Ahhhhh the good ol days......

4 pointsWe’re you wearing a mask when you stole all that for a Benjamin . My most recently acquired freebie .

4 pointsI feel I should report this post. There is something so terribly wrong with using a WH to tow away the carcass of a WH which YOU DIRECTLY contributed to it's ultimate demise. For shame! *wags finger*

4 pointsHere's the beast.. Pretty tame to run compared to some I've run, but at the same time WAY more aggressive.
-
4 pointsI would put 5 more on there and let'm finish the whole pile! Then go inside, get myself a nice cocktail or three and consider the wood splitting work done
-
3 pointsWell here it is. I'm going to use a black rubber front spindle cap as my center cap

3 pointsI vote to fix what needs fixing, wet sand what you want to clean up, give it a satin clear and run it! Why do we continue to buy? To save from the scrapper? To see those smiles? To have the biggest smile?

2 pointsHas it been repainted already? If so I'd strip it and paint it right. Then new decals. If that paint is original you could try to shine it up. At minimum I'd get rid of the decals. Repaint the muffler and wheels. New seat. Just spiff it up some. I had the same thought. Mind sharing where it was? I understand the logic of not wanting to mess with a restored rig too much but Trina and I have no concern with working them. That's what they're made to do. As she says, "I know where to buy more paint". What is really DOES come down to is: It's your tractor and you should do what you want to!!
