11 pointsOne of the trucks I drive every once in awhile has a folding knuckle loader crane. For this type of machine in the United States it's quite large. At one of my job sites this morning there was a daycare in the next building. They came out for playground time when the crane was in the air. Yelling and screaming and super excited as you can imagine. Probably 45 minutes or an hour they were out while I was. Every time I looked over there was anywhere between 1 and 10 kids stuck up against the fence watching the big big truck. One kid in particular had a red flannel jacket. Little dude. Seemed like he was about right sideways fascinated with the crane. Reminded me a LOT of myself when I was a little fella which was quite a long time ago. When I was done I went over to the fence and one of the caretakers came over to meet me. I said do you read about The Man In The Yellow Hat and a little monkey? Curious George. She said yes. I said you can tell all your kids they got to meet the Guy In The Orange Hat today and his name is Bear. Them kids sure were super excited. As I was leaving they all yelled out BYE BEAR. BYE...BYE!!

7 pointsSo do these tires make my tractor look fat? Showed them to @Achto and he called me a fat slob. Well he's kinda right but it's his fault feeding me pulled pork and captain's and building fat tractors that give me stupid ideas! ! After a bit of discussion and some more name calling yah they don't' look right... off to look for some wider say maybe 10.50's ags that run wide for the rear. Sure does steer nice tho! Thers a set of spacers on that parts tractor Dan we're supposed to give back to Al. Gonna pull them and see what shakes.

7 pointsYou know it is getting serious and we are getting close when the lists start coming out!!! I have to start a couple of those too before PD. I have three boys that are serious about plowing this year and I need to make sure I have machines ready for them😬😉

6 pointsBack to tin knockin. Starting on the hood now. Not sure which route I will go. Maybe RJ style or 401, or 753. Any input would be great

6 pointsBeen doing the zerk thing on every tractor fellas... @echris looks like yer havin way too much fun with that lathe... I best come get it.... That pic with the center drill gives me a You know what else a guy could do on it is drill down to the center of the hitch pin then a hole to intersect the hole down the middle and tap the end for a zerk. Grease the hitch pin from the side.

6 pointsMmmm.. Facebook.. "What model is this?" (Shows clear picture of ID tag and hoodstand) "What is this worth? I bought it for nothing from a little old lady, and want to be rich." "This Kohler is trash because it needs the points cleaned yearly, Im installing a Clone motor." "This tractor is junk because it only lasted 5 years of being a mud basher." Mm.. I've come back off pretty much every FB page I joined.. much rather be here.

5 pointsMade a to-do list after Norman is running and before Uncle Jim’s plow day. And thanks @PeacemakerJack, the green 1054 got named!
-
4 pointsFigured It was time to build something different. An all out Modified puller. Starting out with a 522xi. I will be keeping the 522xi luxuries like power steering and hydro. But things will change as I go along. Enjoy
-
4 pointsMy good friend, I've had issues. Not life threatening but ... I've very much missed our conversations. It's good to hear from you!
-
4 pointsAcceptable norm's?? How many more of me are there?? As for hitch pins, I use the same as Lee. Makes for changing hitches quicker and no scratting about look for circlips that have gone a.w.o.l.

4 pointsWho were you chasing? The Mice, or the "PETA" people?
-
4 pointsI am also on this train, lists where made before bed last night... sense I have to have two ready by grandpa Jim’s plow day, my oldest boy wants to give his hand at this and I am trying to make magic happen on this other build so here we go..
-
4 pointsBelieve it or not, I put in 22 years at the only factory that makes those Walker , Thrush, Dynomax and Ultra Flo mufflers... Sorta miss working there.

4 pointsI posted a thread the other day, "What's the hardest thing to do on a WH" and @The Tuul Crib reminded me my hitch is frozen, so I set out to fix it yesterday. I got really lucky. Tried a few taps with a lead hammer, she didn't budge. Slapped it hard in the other direction and it moved! "The level of violence increases exponentially with the difficulty of the job" - My neighbor Dave. Pulled off the left rear tire and I was lucky enough to get it out in about 10 minutes. No heat, no bug juice. Just a big-ass lead hammer and a whole lot of smackin'. The shaft wasn't too bad and I was going to chuck it up in the lathe and take off a few thousands up but decided I didn't want to undersize it too much. Off to the grinder for a wire wheel job. Then I decided to chuck it up anyway, sandpaper and scotchbrite. I also decided to find center so I can use a punch if needed and eased the edge a bit more in case I need to get violent in the future, I'll have a 'bit more mushroom space' (I'm trademarking that term lol) I took this pic just because of those 'cute' tiny curls just laying there. Aww. Buttered the ever loving heck out of it with "silver stuff that never comes off your hands" and called it a day.

4 pointsIn general, when I see folks asking questions on those Facebook sites I always direct them to this group and tell them if they can’t find the answer here, the answer probably doesn’t exist.

3 pointsI’ll let y’all know how this works... but I think it’s gonna be great!

3 pointsYou know Eric, you, Trina, Patti and myself will have to make it to the BS to learn all this lingo and understand all these inside jokes.
-
3 pointsNo doubt a good paint job benefits from practice and there's just no easy way to get that... Prep is an absolute must to having a long lasting job and if the foundation of a good job is there you can still sand out runs and dust and bugs and still buff up a dull finish and STILL have a good job no matter how bad your spray skills are! Bad foundation and it's just not going to last no matter how shiny it is! I hope that what little I offered is of some meager help.
-
3 pointsI don't know much about the differences on the round Hood models so I really can't comment but I just got to say I'm real impressed with the amount of work you've got into that already. It looks great.
-
3 pointsif you were truly acceptable you wouldn't be hanging around with this lot, for sure. But that's okay though because you are exceptional.

3 pointsI use FB very little, mostly looking for a few buys. I will say the market place is better than CL. Seems as when people put there names on line it can improve things. I think having the members real names attached and seen on their RS account would just about seal the deal and make it much better too.

3 pointsthis web site is getting weird! Next maybe WH bedtime stories? Once upon a time.....I wanted a Wheel Horse......

3 pointsAin't that the truth Craig! I don't FB and the few folks I pay to be my friends don't either. The few times I have let curosity kill the cat I see they got WH junkies then you got yer banned WH junkies. So what does a person gotta do to join a group? Disrespect someone else? Here I can call EB an idiot, he calls me a stooge and we're both right. Guess what I'm saying here is we all know each other on a more personal level. Question for you FBers how many times would you see on FB "I'll send you that for shipping" or even "it's on me?? Happens here all the time.
