12 pointsWas looking on the net first of the week ran across these little horses not to far away from me so drug them home with a few other makes . Lawn ranger really not that bad needs tires fore sure hood really nice has 4 drill holes and tear up by lawn but again not bad seems to be complete motor is not stuck might even run The one that really caught my eye is the 701 with 702 drive belt guard, again not to bad shape ,have to long and hard find a dent in that unrestored tractor hood, it has all the parts and few that doesn't belong ,the plastic dash is mostly there I was amazed motor is free I believe the seat belongs on the lawn ranger would be nice if the lawn ranger seat was the 701's lol These will be future projects one of my better finds in a while

10 pointsBeen driving by this for 10 years and finally stopped to get a picture. Looks to be a 69 Firebird ? anyone like to guess. You may have to zoom in to see the large black mailbox sticking out of the center of the grille. Captured this on my way back to Maine from New Hampshire. Figured there may be some hillbilly's among us, sorry Jeff don't take it in a bad way, lot of clowns on here maybe. You all have a great sense of humor so I know you can handle it. If anyone has seen a different kind of roadside mailbox post em up.

9 pointsIt was then that Johnny D realized he may have taken a wrong turn. Is this one of those little green men the country folks are always talking about? I had a work friend bring his Deere to the Meet and Greet at @JCM Jim's place this past Saturday specifically so we could get this pic. @Stepney Spenser did a little "work" on the Photoshop... @AMC RULES @Mrs. Rules @wallfish @Sparky Love the acme gun. Note the coincidentally perfect position of Trina's hands.

9 pointsOur line up.... Dan double tripped so he had a nice herd there! Including Terrance (silver belt guard) which probably has never been to a show before! I gotta get a trailer with an exposed spare just to get one of these covers! Dan's got one on his hauler too! We had plows and may have had a crack at turning some dirt Sunday morning but this bad boy even had problem in the bottoms! This guy has an incredible collection of laundry machines! What's not to like about hit and miss stuff! Lots of it here given the poor weather. One thing I like most about them is the sound they have... not unpleasant like some strait pipe monsters bellowing! @Coulter Caleb made a guest appearance now that he has a DL and some wheels! Dad @PeacemakerJack was MIA! He wanted to bring a but the old man said no..... maybe out of the club for that one! I'll take a break here and see if Dan got any I'm sure he got some of our line up. Then it's on to the nite life pics!

9 pointsUsed mighty 6 horsepower Jane to resurface the temporary driveway after this weekend’s wedding. It rained all night but the tent worked out fine and all was well! The flaming arrow stunt did not work out so great, our pre-practice arrows stayed lit but the wedding night arrows did not. I am right handed, but shoot long guns and bow lefty.

8 pointsThis show is been struggling for a bit so I like to bring as many exhibits as I can. This year I took 7 , the Mclean & 2 Cockshutt's. Also helped my brother get 5 other farm tractors from the family collection and a bunch of his GT's hauled in. On Thurs. after I was pretty much set up I figured I'd send a message to Jim in a language that he would understand. The message must have gotten through because less than an hour later I was hooked on to his truck with my tractor getting him unstuck. Being a small show Jim covered a lot of the small exhibits already but I have a couple that he missed. Liquid sun shine was in abundance but we did get a few short breaks in the weather to throw some corn hole bags. We're not very good at it but we had fun. The Saturday night band is always a good time. Jim broke out his very best hat for the event. At one time the drummer asked to borrow Jim's hat saying "We don't need more cow bell, we need more bed pan". To tell ya the truth, it had a pretty good sound. Last song of the night the band said grab a partner, chair , broom ,shovel, tractor or what ever & get on the dance floor. My brother beat me out the door so I let him have fun with his tractor. Then there's always the guy who just can't handle all the excitement and has to sit down to do some "sturgeon spearing"

8 pointsAppears a have a wing window on the door so I would say '67. Awesome idea!! I'm guessing he's not married, don't know too many women who would go for that.

8 pointsTime for the 420-LSE to be put to work. Hauling some freshly split wood to the log rack in the living room, nights are getting cool and I like that.

7 pointsI am am cleaning up some things in the garage and moved out four of the RJs today ! All started up with gas added to two of them. The photo glitch was all me! I have a YouTube account for videos but these were pics. I do need to use the YouTube URL system though on Red Square!!

7 pointsHusband cleared our side walk of some horses and took them to the stables today! Shifted them around so they would fit. It’s a bit tight! They will stay warm this way! Lol.. Later Tomorrow husband is going to drain fuel for the winter!

6 pointsIf you are setting the timing with an ohm meter, the "S" mark not the "TDC" mark on the fly wheel should be centered in the hole in the shroud when the points just open or loose continuity. Kohler static_timing.pdf If it runs worse at higher RPM's I would also suggest trying a different condenser. Also make sure that the condenser body has a good ground. One more thing, check to see that you have the proper coil. Your coil should have an internal resistor. This should be written on the coil. If it is an external resistor coil, it will give you some of the symptoms that you speak of.

6 pointsIt was a weekend of Wheel Horse! "lawn duty" got decarbon'd, a valve adjustment, a new muffler, cut the lawn and food plot for fall planting, Hoss got a secondary idler for more belt wrap (it dont slip now!), yanked the plow around the garden, and both got put on a 93 octane diet from here on out.

6 points14 out of 15 tractors prefer deere roast than horsemeat pie. Deere. It’s what’s for dinner.
-
6 points1. Little Johnny was frantic as he quickly looked for his copy of the First Amendment, assuring his right to attend a peaceful assembly... even at a Meet & Greet... 2. Poor little Johnny had never been to Maine before... 3. So that’s what the paint department uses to get such a good finish...!!!

5 pointsAnother show here that did not get cancelled. Not a good start right off the bat for me as I buried the truck & camper in the mud pulling in. Dan @Achto came to the rescue with the Cockshutt 30 and got me out. Sorry no pic of that! Rain Rain and more Rain kept the crowds away untill Sunday when it was nice and we had to pack up. What's worse is the grounds trafiic turned everything to mud. Had to feel sorry for the club as the truck & tractor pulls were a big money maker for them but the track was unusable so crowd turnout was very poor. We still managed to have a good time! IH was the feature.

5 points1.) It was at this point that John realized who's funeral he had been invited to. 2.) That was the moment that John realized he had lost the crowd, as mob mentality had taken over. 3.) The career politician John Deere trying to blend in with the "everyday person", the real "work horses" of society if you will.
-
5 pointsNothing runs faster than a Deere being chased by a horse unless it is a Gauntlet of pitchfork welding horses, then all bets are off!

5 pointsOh no no... Ya can't get that woman to set a minute. Go go go go go go go go go all day every day. Today we spent a few hours working on clearing the back right corner of the yard. I've been here 15 years and it's time to clear out some tree growth. I felled (7?) Small/medium trees and sectioned up some of the lower portions. We did a bunch of brush clearing and chip/shredded it. Still a ways to go but the open airy feeling is great! After that we emptied out the rental truck and put all the show stuff away. In between a thousand other things Trina and her mom split up a fair sized pile of firewood. Dinner/supper was a couple lovely racks of pork ribs...num num num.

5 pointsGot the new 121 to start and run. It does OK if you shoot some carb spray to get it started, so I decided to go with fuel issues first. It came equipped with an electric fuel pump, so the first test was to see if it would pump through the manual fuel pump. Check. then I tested the needle and seat . check. Then I pulled the emulsifier tube main jet and idle jet ant they wee oK. Finally i found some yellow gas residue in the bowl and some other dirt . if that was still thee after an hour of mowing, i am pretty sure that the bowl had some water in the bottom. So there we are ,starts and runs every time now. I only had this tractor for a week, and two more showed up. Two black hood 14HP automatics. One extra set ag tires in good shape. Front mount blade and chains. All for $200. Seems like he was tired with dealing with ppl trying to lower the price and he just wanted them gone. They were previously advertised for $500 which till was not bad. i do not really feel bad, because i gave him what he asked. He said to save his phone number as he might want to buy one back once it runs... I gotta stop looking at marketplace 11 is enough..

5 pointsok here it is took a little road tip this morning about 5hrs round trip. Picked up a brinly dump cart from one stop and the other stop was the snowblower and wheel weights for a whopping $55 for the whole package! Well was it worth the wait?

4 points2 guys with camera's and no pic of the buried truck and camper! What is this world coming to?
-
4 pointsThose plastic pumps get mixed reviews so be careful. The diaphragms from fleabay ain't no better. They are cheap but that's what you get and do not contain the valve plate gasket or valves if needed. The original diaphragms have three stacked on them to keep the fuel out of the case these don't. Best off rebuilding the OEM pumps from here. https://www.then-now-auto.com/kohler-fuel-pumps-2/

4 pointsDid you know the guy with the Economy Dan? Glad you got a pic sure was a nice old time piece! I just hope the weather and turnout doesn't spell the end. So these guys from over fifty miles away DROVE ther tractors here. Yah you heard me drove them not trailered. One was a Cockshutt 30 with the wide front and one looked to be a Ford N model with a V-8 stuffed in it. One of the guys was a real fun lover and was dancing with everything from chairs to signs to coolers to hand trucks to bags of pellets to...... Course Dan's brother filling him with 'shine & apple cobbler didn't help!

4 pointsLane, you really need to get a You-Tube account. It's free, you up=load your videos and post the URL's here in your thread. The ones you have posted take up space on Red Square and you need to make them public for any of us to see them.

4 pointsHey Dick, I have it set up pretty well to suite my needs at the moment. I found out my eyes aren't as good as they used to be so I built a frame and installed LED strips to light up the lathe. After some tooling purchases along the way I have been able to make whatever I need so far and even make some parts for my son so he can keep customers going when parts are NLA. Jay This is the metal storage that is to the right of the lathe.

3 pointsIts that time of year again, and betting I'm not the only deer hunter here. How bout it, guys- let's keep this thread going with our updates from the field eh? The place I bought last fall is on 1.2 acres, and the property backs up to a 40+ acre field. There are deer out there almost daily, year round! Unfortunately, the landowners sons hunt, and I was not granted permission to access the field. Enter plan B: clear the crap out of the hedge row, plant a food plot, and bring em on my property! As a bonus, theres a 12-14ft high storage barn right on top of this spot- I built a 'stand' inside the barn and cut a 2x2 section of siding out, overlooking the field and plot. The 520H spent a lot of time dragging and raking everything from sticks and leaves to shingles, metal pipes, and whatever else the previous owner pack ratted and threw in the row. Next, I planted some "chic magnet' chicory/clover mix in the spring and let it go. Over the weekend, the 1277 "lawn duty" cut it down, I fertilized and did the fall seeding of chic magnet, and threw out a bag of corn and a mineral block. Bow season opened here on Saturday, but you wont catch me out there til temps are in the 60s and below. Hard to sit still when swatting at skeeters.

3 pointsDriving the truck around for much of the day as I do I see all kinds of interesting things and mailboxes are certainly entertaining at times.. I see model trucks with the grill as the opening. Big fish of several different kinds. Large brick standing rectangles with the mailbox in the middle. Same thing with different kinds of stones or concrete blocks. Several different types or sizes of chain all welded together in many different configurations. Here in Maine it is standard fare in snow removal to use a plow with a wing . That makes it so one driver in one vehicle can clear one whole side of the road at the same time. Some states don't do that. Quite often the plow will just tick the end of the mailbox and of course that sends it cleaning off into Oblivion on occasion. Because of that there are many many many mailboxes that actually hang from chains or rope or cables or whatever. Or even have a pole that is a swing away design.
-
3 pointsYes. I used to have a bunch of those bushings, but when I went to rebuild a #26 carburetor a couple of years ago, I was out. I found a 1/4 ID o-ring that was about 1/32" thick. It fit and compressed enough to get the throttle plate screwed on. It sealed the shaft and is still on the carburetor today.
-
3 pointsTight doesn't always mean clean and corrosion free. Check the ground cable where it attaches to the frame. Check voltage with engine running you should get 13.5 to 14.5 maybe your charging system is bad killed first battery and isn't recharging this one.
-
3 points+ it's actually faster to do because the link you'll be posting here will work vs. you wasting your time on this nonsence that rarely ever works.

3 pointsShowed up to fix a leaky shower drain, ended up finding a shower that is not waterproof anywhere. There is water damage and the shower needs a tear out. I can see through a grout line to the next room!

3 pointsNot sure about them being special....called an “Anniversary model” but I think it was a chance for WH use up old leftover body parts in 1981. And then WH kinda cheaped out and slipped in the less costly Briggs. That’s being said it’s still a WH so try saving it or pass along to another WH guy, always a better option than the scrapyard.
