I needed something attached to the lift handle to grab while getting on and off my C-165. My first attachment I use 2 sets of gavanized clamps from items used in chain link fencing, a tube and a handle from a shop tool. The second handle needs to be sized. I plan on cutting in down to reduce the ID. If suessful it may be the preferred attachment. I also attached Cub foot rests for more area to stand on. Other ideas are welcome.

Made the trip out to Tractor Supply Store today to pick up some paint. Walked around the store and found they had these seats on " clearance" .... $30.00... So I grabbed one. Can not pass up a new seat for that price. Think I will put it on the Lambert. just thought I would pass it on. Not sure if all stores are getting rid of them or not.

I’d run it! Talk about conversation starter, the extra carry space, plus when mowing you could toss a foil packet dinner on there and be ready to eat by the last blade clipping!

Hien Werner made the HY pumps for Wheel Horse. Rotation of the pump will determine which side of the engine it will run off of. If you look where the pulley shaft goes into the pump there will be directional arrows showing rotation. Hard to tell but it looks like yours is on the CCW side of the pump. If the shaft is on the counter clock wise side, then the pump may be mounted & used the same as a Wheel Horse HY pump. If the shaft is on the clock wise side of the pump then the pump will need to run off of the flywheel side of the engine in order to work. I have a Raider with a Hien Werner pump mounted to work off of the fly wheel. Wheel Horse mounted their pump like this. Lowell has rebuild kits for Hien Werner pumps. Before you order you will need to take the pump apart to see which style spring you have. He also rebuilds the rams. https://www.wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/hydraulics.html Note: The valve body has a slight tapper. If you remove the valve body, it needs to slide towards the inside of the pump. If you pull it towards the out side you may damage it. Also do not tap on the pulley shaft unless the gear cover on the inside of the pump is removed, or you will damage/shatter the pump gears. With the starter gen, again rotation is the key. If it rotates clock wise it can be used on a Wheel Horse. Counter clock wise would be for a Cub Cadet or any tractor the ran the Starter gen off the PTO side of the engine. Easy way to check rotation, clamp a cable to the body of the s/g and to the negative side of a battery. Clamp a cable to the "A" post on the s/g and touch the other end to the positive post on a battery. This should spin the s/g so that you can determine rotation.

I’ve had a “parts” 520H for yearsssssss and decided this spring to see I could get it going and use it around our farm to mow around barns and buildings and other chores. Nothing to loose, worse case, still a parts tractor. Replacement front tire/rim, new fuel line, plugs, engine and tranny oil/filters. Air in the tires... and a 42 inch rear discharge deck. Knock on wood, seems to run great. One question... I have two other 520H tractors. One after Toro bought them and one before with the straight front axle. The older one has a different engine sound than the later Toro 520H. Both cylinders are firing, no issues there. The later model has more of a sweet throaty sound. The older one in some ways sounds like any other garden tractor. Were there different muffler internals on the 520H models over the years of production that would account for this sound difference? This 520H I just got going is a Toro Wheelhorse, but an older model. It sounds exactly like the oldest Wheelhorse from above, the one with a straight axle. Seems to rune fine, fires off first crank. Just doesn’t have that throaty sound my later model 520H has. Here is a video of the whole resurrection and ending with mowing. I can’t hear anything that would tell me it’s running on one cylinder, but maybe you can. I think it’s OK, thought I’d ask. By the way, I use to be a regular poster, going back to the Yahoo group days. I’ve been up to my ears with this farm, but am hoping to get in more Wheelhorse time and will have plenty of videos as time unfolds. Enjoy the Wheelhorse video and if you like farming videos (mostly cutting/square baling hay), check out some of those. Thanks! Bill

Finally, it has happened to me! Yay! My brand new registration document has arrived for Fred. His registration number is JUX 769 V so I've ordered a set of plates for him. Just a day late for my birthday but I'm not complaining. Smiling from ear to ear!

Been real busy with work and kids and cars lately, so I haven't been around much. This weekend on Flea-Bay I found an 8-5551 hitch kit for $150 shipped, so I jumped on that and found it waiting when I got home, so the 800 got a front accessory bracket after dinner: Thanks to @gwest_ca for pointing me in the direction of that bracket set with a part number some months ago. I'm thinking the next step is getting two front tires that are the same size and hold air for more than a day.

Wow, just reading through this thread, I was not aware of so much BS across the pond for simply attempting to legally be allowed to touch a public roadway with a tractor, let alone here in some US states. Its as if we are punished for trying to do things the right way. I grew up enduring the snowmobile/ATV issues back home in upstate NY, most of which were lenient compared to some things I read here. Congrats to you on seeing things through and doing it right! Going to consider myself lucky here in North Carolina- I've ridden the shoulder of the road back and forth to work on more than one Horse, ride around the neighborhood often, and even made a beer run to the local convenient store on the trail bomber. Cops are used to the 'ol country boys' down here and don't bother anyone much as long as were not acting like a fool. I get a lot of thumbs ups on the old Horses which is pretty cool. The girlfriend, however, is not the least bit impressed by any of these antics, so do my best to draw plenty of attention when riding in the neighborhood, then return home and park right in the middle of the front yard Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is not.

Bought a d series snow plow for my d-160. she needs a little work but over all its mostly there. Im super happy with it. it measures 56 inch across. it had a bend in it but i fixed it yesterday a 4x4 post and a 4lb sledge on the concrete slab. Boom straight again. I think i did good i drove 1 hr and paid $60. all i need is the big handle and rod. I sprayed it all down and got things loosen up yesterday. Im hoping to try and mount it today after work. unless it really gets to 100 today then i may wait till tommorow

Are you doing this with the belt guard ON? It has to be in place for the "clutch" to function.. The belt guard is the belt guide.

Worked on the footrests for the 420 today. It seems on this model they painted the area black for the carriage bolts and the 3 holes where the pad bends up to the rear fender when it was built from what i can gather for info. The heads of the bolts where also painted black. Made a cardboard template to cover the red then sprayed the black. Last step will be to stick the new pads on.

Beautiful machine! You will love it even more with a 15" wheel. Makes steering even easier. I also made a new steering column cover by sleeving 3 pieces of plastic pipe together. A piece of 2" IPS, 1" PVC and 3/4" IPS. Cut them at a 46-47 degree angle. I got them all from Home Depot. They sell them in 2' lengths. I wish I had a better picture of how it came out on this machine. Good luck with it. Bill

Finished all the hoods metal work today, thing is rock solid now and fitting tighter than OJ's gloves. The usual broken front mounts multiple issues fixed...all holes welded up...and the broken seams (both sides)... tacked back together. Finished up with an application of a paintable automotive seam sealer to the underside to fill the gap which will have it ready to be stripped to bare metal tomorrow and back into fresh paint like glass by C.O.B.

I’ve actually been more impressed when towing. I have big block trucks and one diesel and it is comparable to the diesel when towing our 7000 pound trailers. In fact there’s a hill that we go up all the time and the diesel will only maintain speed but the eco-boosts will go as fast as you want to up that same hill. That eco-boost was a 3.5 L but it only had 3.15 gears and it still was a towing monster. The truck I use for work now is only a 2.7 L which is only 165 in.³ I use it to tow a 6000 pound trailer with ease on the interstate at 70 mph and it never gets above 2500 RPMs even in the Ozark hills. It’s a 10 speed so I lock out ninth and 10th gear and put it in tow/haul mode and it rarely shifts out of 8th gear. With regard to walking away from any stock truck, if you pull up to somebody in an eco-boost with a four-wheel-drive and you give each other a nod, if you see them turn the knob to four-wheel-drive, either be prepared to see tail lights or just look the other way. If it’s a 2 WD you might have a chance because they will not maintain any type of traction below 40 mph. I’m not tuned but here are some figures before and after a simple tune. These tiny turbo engines are rockets. And we have several that are trouble free after a couple hundred thousand miles so they’ve been rocksolid also.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread and share with yall what I ended up with on the back of “thumper”.Found these wheels and tires on and old monkey ward tractor. They are 23/10.50-12’s on what appears to be 8/8.5” wide wheels. They have a different backspace then the wheel horse rims but I really like the “tucked” looks of them plus they are already loaded with fluid .Aired them up and if the stay up like they are supposed to will pull them off and paint um up,if yhey dont will be putting new tubes and fluid in them....before and after pic...
