I am currently on light duty due to a hernia surgery last week so my daughter is stepping up to do grass cutting while I heal up. It is really dry here right now so a lot of the yard is brown and not growing but this part is on low ground so it is still doing well. I really should have put the deck on a regular 520H that would go a little slower for her but she did just fine. It has the 48" deck on it right now which is a little easier than the 60" to use.

Never really thought I would go this route but as we all know one thing leads to another. Anything that looks worn is getting replaced. Rear end and frame are almost done. I will be leaving hood, side covers rear fender and upper hoodstand as is, lower got painted today. All fasteners were removed, cleaned and painted either red or black as original.

New shoes on the back and trailer hitch installed! Unfortunately, the Wheelhorse Turf Savers had to come off. New tires are Antegos, and the trailer hitch came from StreetRays on eBay.

Had a fun afternoon scraping the courtyard clear of as much mud as possible. It was mostly just an experiment to see if the wheelhorse produced a better result than the big tractors with a hay bale. At first I used the blade with the rubber strip, that was no good so removed it and just used the steel wear bar. What a difference, it digs in really well! Probably scraped up a couple of tons of mud, we had the Kubota running back and forth getting rid of the piles I was creating. The ground is really rough so the blade was tripping a lot in some areas, but overall the performance was amazing for such a small machine. It didn't suffer from traction issues unless I buried the blade in one of my dirt piles. It's amazing how these machines find grip. Anyway, was a great way to spend an afternoon 😊

Hello guys and thanks again for the welcome! So long story short, my wife calls me and says theirs a tractor on the trash. So like any normal human I hopped in my truck and drove up to find this 418-C and a set of aluminum ramps on the side of the road. Had to be fate. So me and my 6 year old sons new found love of tractor pulling has inspired this build. I’ve been researching everything about the model and currently have it stripped and prepping it for paint.

Hello from Bennington Vermont. I picked up a 418-C on the curb and plan to build a stock class puller for my 6 year old. This one needs work as well as an engine but I’m excited for the restoration! sal

I’m going to miss renewing old friendships and making new ones this weekend. For me the people are the reason I keep on coming back to Red Square, the Wheel Horses are great but without the people it would be meaningless. With that in mind I have assembled a few pictures that have been posted on Red Square over the past year that include the owners, friends and family members. Turn on some tunes, grab a beverage lean back and enjoy the 2020 Coronavirus Virtual Big Show.

Yup! I should be waking up this morning in a strange hotel bed, thinking about some tractor I didn’t buy Friday and hoping it’s still there Saturday when I roll back onto the show grounds....and of course thinking about breakfast at the Apple Bin Grill a few miles from the show grounds.

Along with the chassis there was a hood, steering column and front wheels and spindles for a C-161. I grabbed it all. This is my first horse so doing a lot of reading. I have the Eaton 1100 as well for the 418. Been degreasing for days.

Thanks, I’m excited about the build and knowing now about the not so common 418-C, I’m dedicated at this point. The plan is to bring it back to stock and see how little Sal likes pulling. Then maybe another with a small block in it. im not sure what parts I’m missing now but I’m going to take it a step at a time. First get all the bones painted and re-assembled. I read the paint threat and of course different opinions about primers. I don’t have a sprayer but had good results with rustoleum. I’ve taken the frame down to bare metal and gave it an acetone bath. After I weld the new angles on the transmission plate I’d like to prime it and feel like got somewhere. here’s a shot of my son while we were disassembling. He’s all about it!

New here, Well i bought a new toy and as always theres a forum for it, earlier this week i picked up this 2007 315-8 with 130ish hours on the clock and i am very very pleased with the size and power of this thing. Seller seemed honest and very knowledgeable so i jumped on it and i think i paid a fair price. Rides like a Cadillac compared to my current home depot mower. Hopefully going to find a plow and grader blade at least in the near future.

Bob, you nailed it. While I was looking at the S/G I noticed that the ground wire to the frame was hanging loose. I found the bolt (thankfully) and with a spare washer got it all back together. It fired right up and I drove it back to the shed! Thank you again, pfrederi and Bob!

I can’t overemphasize the importance of pulling the float bowl and making sure that is clean. Often these tractors sit for long periods with ethanol fuel and it crystallizes and gels in the bowl. It can cause problems intermittently or continuously if not removed. I always keep a surplus of carb gaskets because it is the number one problem to many of the old Kohler’s I’ve encountered in not running. I can’t tell you the number of tractors that I’ve purchased that didn’t run and all it took was cleaning the fuel system and they ran great! Fresh, properly gapped spark plug is also a low cost insurance too.

Made the “Edward” (scissor hands) attachment on Steve come alive... along with popping an extra 7/16” hole in my hand. It was so awesome to see Rylee help me finish this, and Mrs. P. test it out!

I'm a little late to the party, but my kids surprised me with 8 beautiful prints from one of my favorite video games called Bioshock. And they did it all on their own. The art in the game is all Art-Deco + Steampunk, just beautiful stuff. The prints the kids got me are from the "ads" in the game for Plasmids. Kinda like an injection that can give you the ability to launch fire from your fingertips. (This was not without extremely negative side effects lol). Anyway, I hung the photos up today in the back room along with some new hangers for the guitars. My kids are awesome! Lucky Dad here.

Well spent the morning working on the Lambert at my cousins house. When I got home from there I decided to get back to work on the 416-8. With the blades all sharpened and balanced I installed them on the deck. Then I installed the deck on the tractor for the first time since owning it. After the deck was on I changed the seat to this one that I had in my garage. It is supposed to slide forward and back but dosnt seem to want to do it that easily. I may change it back. I am really starting to like this tractor more and more. After I packed all the tractors back in the garage I noticed that my decals came from @Vinylguy I was tired so I will finish it off tomorrow. I will also post some pics of the progress made on the Lambert tomorrow.

I get very bored when working on ships, when your not working your captive as nowhere to go. Watching movies isn't my thing so I tend to try and have some sort of project on the go wherever possible. This little guy came out of our rag bag.

Well after I finished up detailing the 416-8 I took a break to have lunch. After lunch I checked my mail and yesss sir I got my box from K&B Horse Parts !! A set of nice shinny hub caps !! I originally ordered these for the 416-8 but changed it up and put them on the C-161. I think that was the right move. Its looking nice and stylish now.... C-161.... the Cadillac of Wheel Horses. Just need some curb feelers for it now. Picture of my over crowded garage. I have to move some out just to get to my tool box.

My boss asked me if I could run this through my shaper or should I say tablesaw shaper to make some pieces for the kitchen cabinets we are working on. I guess this is what they mean by taking your work home with you I don't know maybe took an hour. Hard maple runner tracks for cookie sheets in a cabinet to be surrounded by another outer piece or cut another track and another piece of wood for it to sit in.I think it will be encased in Walnut. This is hard maple.

I put a set of Deestone 5 rib tires on the front of my Raider 12. I had bought a set of Ag tires for the rear and thought it would give it the “Tractor” look I have noticed that it steers a whole lot easier now. I am starting to look for new tires for the 416-8 that’s in the final stages of completion. So..... I am going to ask the question.... Anybody else use the 5 ribs on the front of your tractors?? Just asking and NOT for a friend

Took a little trip on Saturday morning (7hr roundtrip) to pick up this Delta DP220 drill press. The serial tag dates it 1947. I have a super cheap used taiwan drill press that just hasnt been up to snuff and I really have been wanting a heavy built press for quite a while now. Im gonna clean up some rust and leave the paint alone. I also need to make the power switch rod and bracket, if anyone has one dimensions of the rod that would be great! Boy she sure runs like a well oiled sewing machine!

Another one.... We lived in a two bedroom flat for a little while when the kids were small, it was an investment I brought to do up and sell. We decided to live in it to keep our costs low while doing the renovation, but it was a bit small. The kids bedroom was crowded with a single bed and a bunk bed, so we decided to convert the bunk into a triple. They were almost impossible to buy, and it was an easy conversion anyway. When we moved the triple bunk was sold, it got into a bidding war and one of the guys that lost was really upset. I would have built him another one except we were leaving the UK to live in Australia and all my tools were on a ship already.

I wanted to pick up a plow light for Clyde and so Claudia and I went to the Big Rig Chrome shop and looked through their hundreds of LED lights. We picked up a couple of options for dad and dropped them off at his place today. I pulled Clyde out of the barn and took some pics... please notice the serial number. Dad’s was long gone and so because I bought this for him for his birthday we opted for that date as the tag! the old floor boards were really getting rough and so I gave dad a set that I had kept from an off topic throw away tractor I had parted years ago. Dad trimmed them to fit and they look almost factory on there. the horse barn shot... Stablemates👍🏻 thank you @stevasaurus for the super cool banner that hangs in the background. Both tractors have been restored and are collectibles to us!
