Well got some stuff in the mail today. Got this nice spark plug / coil wire from @squonk He was kind enough to send it as a gift. Thanks Mike ! I also got my engine mounts. Replacing the rubber mounts with solid mounts. I havent tried to install them yet because I was busy painting the wheels!. I brushed a coat on first then used spray can to finish. They came out pretty good I guess. I am never happy with any of my painting. I forget the color name but it isnt " WHITE". Its a 10 footer. Looks good from 10 feet away but at 10 feet its a beauty !! Keep you posted on the mounts.

Built a corral for Cindy's 702. Not sure but I think Tom @Shynon or his boy Mike @prondzy suggested this for shows to keep unruly kids off. Bad news is she developed a clutching issue that needs sorting out. Oh well.

Have some Seat time today. first i mowed around the House and the field than Kati went back from Shopping with few glasses. she told me she decided to make elderflower juice so i increased my Seattime and collect some Elderflowers along the Forrest. Think i have a need for a Dump Cart to put all the things in next time 😎 On the Way, i do a stop (ride today with the Horse thru the Forrest) at my Buddy‘s property Michael, because they threw honey yesterday. Where i pick few glasses of his fresh Honey. While i do that ride, Kati begins to make the juice At least i do a pressure wash to the Horse and Grease it up. Love the Country life !👍 I dunno what can bring more Fun than do a Dayride together with a Horse. 😁😇

3 hours build time. Not terrible! Slight change of my plans... We didn’t discuss finish, but I think he plans to use this as a vape / smoking something or another display, so I figured I’d try out my new “wood burner” purchased as a weed torch. Let me know what you think!

This addiction is worthy of its own "continuous" thread.... Picked up my first Horse around December- a 520H. Picked up a 654 in January. In early April I bought a Raider 12 to fix and flip, so basically, two months ago I had TWO horses in the stable. Then all hell broke loose. This is the current stable situation, after taking delivery of three more 'mostly complete' horses and some parts, including an 856 that Ive wanted for a long time, AND a plow and a rake as a bonus!. If you look close, theres a lot of goodies hiding in the pic! Not pictured are my three users- the 1277, round fender/long hood custom, and the 654 trail bomber. Current list of 'sold' machines: 520H, 8hp/4 speed, raider 12. Current list of purchased machines and parts: yes

Fast and cheap. A display for a local party store. “I don’t care what you build it out of, just get it before the weekend if you can!”

We have trouble with kids as well. Also ignorant parents. In the past I've asked what their car number is and where they're parked so I can climb all over it.

Absolutely Johnny! She has HER two tractors. I have my two tractors.... she bought her first one. The second was a trade from a fellow member @buckrancher for another horse. She does a lot of the work on them. During the restoration process Trina does MOST of the disassembly and almost All of the cleaning, paint and rust removal, and ALL the repainting. We share the assembly. She does a LOT of the bolting together. I do the wiring and rebuild the transmissions. Trina has a 3rd waiting to be restored at some point that was a gift from @Herder

Just got home from a little side work set by the shop took my buddy out for a ride now it's time to relax!

Was it rebuilt? Check the flywheel key Curious if the timing marks on the cam and crank gears are lined up. That could delay the points opening and the need to retard the timing with the larger gap if it was off

Craig...I was hoping to do a reveal when I had them installed but looking at the above list—it might be awhile and so here you go... Can I just say that Terry is amazing? I told him what I had in mind and he put these together. They look even cooler in person!

Terry can fix you up. https://www.redoyourhorse.com/wheel-horse-horse-a-holic-decal/ Joe, why on earth would anyone want to find a cure or therapy?

when I have one, I don’t seem to have much or “any” of the other. Well said Dan. the List (only of horses): Vader (Super-C195) Although it doesn’t look like it in this picture, I want to do a full restore on this rare tractor someday and it will be used only as a play/show tractor. JackRabbit (418-C) This is @Coulter Caleb‘s tractor and we need to do a refurbish on it, fix a couple of worn odds and ends, fresh coat of paint. This will hopefully be Caleb’s primary worker on into adulthood👍🏻 Big RED (523Dxi) This tractor has been running a little hot lately and I need to find and fix that issue. Especially because we are getting a very useful attachment soon that I’m pretty excited about...(more on that later) Blackbeard (GT14) This is Zach’s tractor. The initial plan is to do a surface repaint and get the mower deck and snowthrower fully functional and refurbished so that Zach can use it as he grows. There is a longer list with this one but you’ll have to check his thread for that😉 GhostRider (314-8) My Plow Mule is just about finished. Just need to make a few mods to the custom hitch that Kevin made for me and I can say that it is set (except maybe for an electric fuel pump mod) Comanche (854) Another of @Coulter Caleb‘s tractors. This one is getting close to where we want it for now. Long term—we want to rebuild the original K181 and reinstall the original parts at that time. Currently just enjoying it! Needs an alternate rear end for plowing “abuse” and some weight to keep the front end planted. Rusty (1054-A) This Tractor was practically given to me and so I don’t have a real decisive path on it yet. I do know that I want to get the lights up and working, the PO added horns working, tune up the engine, clean/paint the wheels, add a custom seat by @BOB ELLISON and install the freakishly cool distressed decals from the “Sticker Master” @Vinylguy There are plenty of other projects but these should keep me busy for now🤔😂

My grandpa's Wheel Horse. I was a little kid at the time, but I'm pretty sure it was an early 70's C series, manual trans, mower deck and dump cart. I think it's still possible for me to save that machine. One of my cousins got it when Grandpa passed away 15 years ago. That's my wish list.

I have a charger 10 in pieces and waiting for a day to get started putting it back together I wish it were running right now. putting a 14 horse on it to get it moving. i'm going to use it for snow plowing if and boy is that a big if we get any snow! Here's the old girl before he took her apart. I am all the way down to the transmission.

So the last month or two in quarantine I decided to paint all the parts for my charger rebuild. With that now set aside and has time to cure I decided to start on the transmission rebuild . I had to take priority and do a couple jobs for some customers. Now its time to dive into this Sunstrand. Got all the parts cleaned and set aside ready to go. Now I need to fix the brake pawl and l need to make a decision between a 14 horse or 16 on this tractor. seems to be an easy decision but I'm still thinking about it.

I've got a 1994 Toro Wheel Horse 266-H with a K61 Trans axle. I bought it used twenty two years ago, so most of it's use has been mine. Five years ago, it was getting pretty sluggish. I tried the change of oil, but that made no difference. With nothing much to loose, I took it apart and examined the moving parts. The gears all looked pretty good except the final drive pinion. The hydraulic pump and motor had scoring on the surface that contacts the center block. This scoring allows the hydraulic oil to bypass the motor or pump. So, I found a nice plate glass surface, silicon carbide sand paper, and got to work. I used 220 at first, rotating and pushing and pulling to keep the cutting as even as possible. When all signs of the scoring were gone in about an hour. I used paint solvent as a lubricant. Then I cleaned everything up and and started over with 320 grit. I did this to both cylinders and the center block. When reassembled the thing was as lively as ever. Definitely put a grin on my face. Now, five more years of use, the little red machine is again limping along. So, rinse and repeat. New again. Yippee. But, there are some things I learned. The pinion is worse than it was last time. I think particles of pinion were the major contributor to the pump and motor scoring. The first time, I reused the filter because it looked pretty clean, and I was right in the middle of mowing season. This time, the filter had collapsed and wasn't doing it's job. The new filter is much better design. It is reinforced with metal so it won't collapse. Another lesson learned is that Toro used a special build of the K61. If you look in the overhaul manual from TuffTorq, the motor block is oriented with the "dimples" up. That is how I reassembled it. Big swear word. It ran backwards. Got the Toro manual and it shows the motor block with "dimples" down. Switched around it runs fine. Like I need more practice taking that thing apart. So a few lessons learned: 1. Silicon carbide paper can be used to recondition the contacting surfaces in the motor and pump. 2. Take a picture of the motor/pump assembly before you take it apart to make sure you can reassemble correctly for your application. Or mark the parts. 3. Use the new style filter with metal reinforcement. 4. I tried to do an in-chassis change of the motor block when it was running backwards. Not practical. Gravity is not your friend for some of the parts. If you have an oldie and want a few more years out of it, this isn't too bad a job. tom

In 1998, my father-in-law gave me a ~70's 24" 4HP Ariens 2 stage snow blower that he found on this side of the road. He said he didn't know if it worked and wanted me to check it out. I pulled the starter rope and the crankcase went, "whhhhhhhhhhhheeeee". Grandpa didn't notice the hole in the side of the block. lol. He didn't want it and gave it to me. I found, I think at Northern Tools, a 5 HP Tecumseh Snow King direct bolt on replacement, brand new for like $125-150.00. "Woohoo, 20% more power!" Tore the whole machine down and mainly only needed stripping, primer, paint, adjustment and lube. I think I only replaced the belts. Shoes and scraper bar were fine. That was 1998-1999. I've used it every winter since. Only replace oil, belts and (duh) shear pins. Shoes are now shot, new scraper is already in stock. I love this tiny beast.

Dug the taters yesterday! 12-13lbs from a 50ft row certainly not what I expected, but this was my first attempt at gardening and I literally tossed 'whatever' in rows to see what works and what doesnt. This NC clay is not the easiest to grow stuff in, its like digging concrete. The snap peas are succumbing to the heat- theyre falling over, leaves turning yellow, but theyre still flowering and producing beautiful, super sweet pods, so I just keep socking the water to them and am picking a decent container sized amount every 2-3 days.

oh, yes, 2 what’s missing Picts - cool ok, i found fails, Just 2 stairs added, the coke bottle is empty, the blue trash can is added, also a blue canister, 2 accudrills are added, Or I see 2 stairs and an empty coke bottle - that increases the cost...😎 means on 5 stairs 2 1/2 bottles of coke... 😂 😂😂😂😂😂 Nice work 👍

So cool! Glad to be a small part of Comanche’s journey!

Claudia hadn’t driven the Comanche before and so I gave her a quick tutorial and she took it for a spin while Caleb was finishing cutting the lawn. She said it was fun to drive and she was impressed with how tight the steering was (thank you @pullstart for the parts tractor and the awesome steering gear we got from that!). Caught this sweet photo of Caleb’s two horses with him and his sister! Great time capsule👍🏻

That is it. When measuring very long runs one needs to make sure tape is absolutely stretched for accuracy otherwise dimension will be greater than what it actually is. It’s a LUFKIN tape clamp which allows one to comfortably pull tape measure taut while reading with no damage to tape whatsoever .I use it often to take field dimensions. It’s actually relatively rare and unknown as you can see.

I got the mufflers in the mail today. Basically baby glasspacks. Patriot Exhaust Company H3121. They measure only 1-5/8" OD x 12" long. Six rows of flutes down through and into the "sound absorption material". They'll most likely be used as little stacks but the rest of the stack is yet to be determined.....

It was fun to get some wrenching time on @Coulter Caleb‘s JackRabbit (418-C). Last fall it was giving more trouble starting and I could tell that the PTO safety switch was on its way “out”. If I wiggled the PTO lever, I could get it to fire over. About three weeks ago we couldn’t get it to engage. I don’t recommend this...BUT...I bypassed everything by using a pair of jumper cables directly from an auxiliary battery to the starter and touch the black to the tractor battery with the key in the run position. It started every time but it was a MASSIVE PAIN to deal with and so I ordered the new safety switches and we put them in today. I would’ve taken pics but it was a pretty straightforward part exchange with the only headache being the rusted bolts. Once it was back together, tested the function and it worked great👍🏻! It had been awhile since I had done much cutting with JackRabbit and so I took a few passes in the back and Caleb captured them. I was reminded again why I like this tractor so much!!! Has anyone ever found or used a high vacuum blade with these 48”SD decks. This tractor could easily cut at 6-7mph in our lawn if the blades pulled the grass up into the deck cleanly. One of these days, we will give this thing a fresh coat of paint and get some custom decals from @Vinylguy we will eliminate the silver from the color palette and stick with red, black, and antique white!
