The dumpster that is. Some idiot threw this in the dumpster at my office. Whoever it was musta been an outboard freak as it was filled with lots of junk from boat motor repair. Very rusted but quite savable. Shoula took some before pics my bad. Had a nasty brush paint job. Blasted it and painted. Guy can't have too many tractors or tool boxes right? Left the dents in it for character and the handles untouched so the MN boys wouldn't be all over me for not staying original! Must be somewhat vintage the badging was actually metal! Off to the jungle site for drawer liner.

I needed a utility trailer and what better time to build one that during isolation......Here is an article I published to my web page with lots of pictures. Hope you enjoy it. http://rvbprecision.com/rv-projects/tent-trailer-to-utility-trailer-a-covid-project.html

Saved this poor old thing from the yard where it had been sitting for 30+ years. It is a ROOF brush cutter, built in Pontiac, Illinois. Sometime around the 50's, going by the Wisconsin engine. Was mostly frozen, but came free pretty easy since it seemed to have been totally doused in oil during it's life. In fact, even the crusty old Fairbanks external magneto came to life after a points cleaning.. Belted it up to the WorkHorse to crank it over faster than I could by hand.. after a few minutes running, it had plenty of compression and starts easily. Currently attempting to repair the cracked cast metal carb, and get the tank cleaned out. Figured you'd like some photos of the death-trap..

My grandson Grayson on the 312-8 in the garage . It won't be long before he is wanting his own wheelhorse. Great Easter day.

Here is an idea for a set up. This could be accomplished using a single transmission.

I figure a man could do brain surgery watching the tube! I came in the house one day and my wife was inside of the dishwasher, iPad on the counter above. She just finished up and was about ready to give it a try and it ran great after using the tube for repair!

OK here we go. Not sure how to post a video. Been tinkering with it this morning. This is what I got. 20200413_142333_001.mp4

That's how it's become up here in the Northeast. I have a half decent pile of spare parts. One whole tractor that needs to be redone. Enough parts to build at least 2 more, maybe 3. I was thinking about offering that to the wonderful incredible amazing folks on red square but now that I've seen the inarguable Platinum mine that I am sitting on I'm having second thoughts. Why, I must have at least $675,000 worth of stuff out there!! I mean I would take less. I'm not just some big block of inflexible Stone. I guess.

Today does not feel like Easter because of our current situation and the Weather was nice for us to get some seat time in,so with Patti on the C-120 and Myself on the 417 we did some spring clean-up before the rains tomorrow. I use the Tine Rake on the lawn but never on the Roadside so I thought I would try that out and pleased with the outcome. Last year I used a rake and for over 400' of road frontage that gets old quick. Also started the trail maintenance with the tine rake but that is a job for another weekend. It works extremely well picking up Pine needles as you can see by the pics. On another note I noticed a change in how people actually say Hi and wave going by when I was roadside whether they were walking or on bicycles, almost how it used to be in the old days, and I like that. Happy Easter All

I wanted to raise the seat just a little to help keep it off of the fenders so I made a 1/4” spacer to fit under the seat then lengthened the shoulder on the carriage bolt to keep the seat from turning.

Im going to do my best at getting it running. Getting it driving is a whole different story. The hand lever on the left hand side appears to do nothing. The foot rest on the left side seems to operate the tension wheel on the right side to engage the home made belt drive system. The foot rest on the right side is stationary. I do not see any kind of braking other then to release tension on the belt. Looks like its going to need some fabricating and reengineering. I dont have the tools or knowledge to do either. I will get it running and see what happens. The dump cart is homemade. The axle is from the front end of something. The bed I believe is a wheelbarrow. The rest fabricated. The tires and rims look pretty good. Not sure if they fit. Tires that are on the tractor dont fit right. Only 3 lugs. Tires are snow tires from a car so maybe I will see if the other rims and tires with chains fit better. I believe the steering and hood are mashed together. I think the original steering column for that hood came through the hole on top. I believe there may have been some type of gauge in the dash that was removed to pass this column through. Also where it says " Lighter " on dash is a button. Not sure if that is a kill switch. @diesel cowboy might be right about it being a Bonanza hood. I liked them up. looks close but I havent seen any photos of any that look exactly like this one with the round vents on the side. The grill looks like one though.

Yesterday and today Trina and her mom and I spent most of both days putting up a 4 foot welded wire fence. We used a combination of standard production metal posts, live trees, and hemlock post from the area that we cleared that you can see in the video just behind the fence.

What do you found between your Easter Eggs? I found this one another new Toy for the Boy. 1600Nm opening force is a lot. Nice and handy not that heavy than my older impact wrench. Kati gets also a nice Gift, our Landlady has in her Backyard a separated Area, she wasn‘t able to deal with. So we get that Area for free and we can use it as we like. Because Kati like to have a raised bed, she tells the landlady few day‘s ago. This Area is full with longterm growing Raspberry and the landlady tried last year to cut it out as much as possible. Basically she give that Areal up, and today we get it as our Easter Gift. There is also a old Glasshouse, but inside it is a mess. All is overgrown with Raspberry‘s. They had 5years to grow since she give it up. Great, but it‘s Katis Area, i just have to help her a bit on the harder Things. So she starts today at 10:00 Am and worked until 15:00 Pm with just few Breaks. Raspberrys are horrible to remove. after Kati cleaned out the Terrain from Raspberrys and old fencep arts and some other trash like bigger stones i started the Tiller to do the first time a tilling the Area. It was just a test how it works and if the new Chain lasts maybe with a bit of hope to crack the Hackstars from the Spindles. yes, the Chain lasts and the Tiller works great now, however the hackstars stay where they are. Several hops was feelt while tilling, but it digs and the Soil is now fluffy like powder.

Some are a real disappointment. There are glaring mistakes in some so thought I would try to correct them as best I can. The 1991-1997 520-H is a mess so thought by the last year in 1997 they would have got it right. Use that info to redo the older diagrams. Wrong. Finally have a version that will work for black and white and color I think. I don.t have an operating color printer to try it. Will have to rely on the members/owners to verify their accuracy. Wire color is one concern and if all the wires for one component match what is on a tractor. If someone has one torn apart it should not be a big task. Here is what I have so far. The original from the manual and the same drawing corrected and colored. If you want to download the color version pdf it is here Any criticisms and better ideas appreciated. Garry

My washer started going out of balance for no reason at all so I Googled it by typing in "washer out of balance" with my brand and model number. Results were the suspension rods were faulty which is a common problem with my washer. I found a set of suspension rods for $45 on and ordered them. I googled replacing them on my model washer and found a YouTube video on it. I replaced them and had no trouble ever since and that was a few years ago. I use the same basic approach with all my problems I don't understand and most of the time I'm successful!

I'm assuming gas? An igniter is about $20 bucks. Another common problem is a small thermal fuse in the dryer chimney. You can check each with a simple DMV. 115V to the igniter and continuity thru the fuse.Goggle the fuse so you can see what it looks like. If the fuse is bad, pull the whole chimney off and clean it out

    1. Is it red? 2. Are you sure? 3. Good... Load the sprayer. 4. Spay red paint on tractor. 5. Let dry.

I'm down to needing only one more part for the differential. I'm bound and determined to find it today. Did get all the lights working along with the horn and cleaned up some of the wiring. Also repaired the back bumper and have it mounted again.

If you weren't so far away, id be on that like a fat kid on a cupcake! Dang, you fellas up there in the north country have some beautiful older machines for peanuts. Down here in the southeast they were apparently not as popular- theyre not as plentiful, and when they are, youre gonna shell out the same amount for a rolling, deckless chassis as you will for a complete runner up north. Geez, I gave 2 bills for my 654, with a non running, non original 6hp Tekky, hacked up hood, no deck, no attachments, and there wasnt a wear item on her that wasnt 30 years beyond its limit

Gave Putt Putt a much needed bath yesterday. He was filthy from last year’s plow day still! When I was on the phone last week with @PeacemakerJack we discussed how plowing does take it’s toll on a tractor and you can’t be worried about it’s looks to particularly. Putt Putt is a testament to that, he’s showing signs of paint chips and wear after just 2 years of frame off restoration. He’s doing what he’s meant to do!

312-8 was traded for this 5 1/2’x10’ tsc trailer. It is a 2019 but was used hard by po. A little stain and gloss rusto and she matches her big brother!!

Says I only used about 50% of my attachment quota but wont let me load anymore pics. Hmmm there it goes < shrug > Looks pretty safe huh ? How can you possibly get hurt riding this? Better get a tetanus shot. Could the hood be off a Gibson? It does say something under the gas tank. You can read... LAWN then the tank blocks the rest but an R at the end. Lawn Tractor maybe I dont know.

Just wondering how many of us have our work Horses, and perhaps a 'trail bomber/woods romper' as well? Thats the plan for this 654- dual purpose trail bomber, and keep another belt and pulley set for garden/yard work, since shes a lot smaller and more nimble that the big 520 for those things. We are all familiar with the racing tractors and pullers, but I had no idea 'mud mowers' or so they're termed, was such a big thing, til I started doing online searches. Some of these guys are insane, putting huge ATV tires, lift kits, bugout boxes, etc on them and burying them up to the hood in mud holes. NO I certainly do not have plans like that, just cant see cutting up a round hood Horse no matter how rough it is, but the concept is pretty neat. Ok, theres a set of aggressive, stock sized ATV tires on the way for her, but thats about it. So, who's got em? Lets see some pics!

Saw this ad on Craigslist for 75 bucks. Not sure if its worth the trouble. I dont have the skills like most of you guys around here. Sure looks like a pretty cool tractor though. Can anyone identify it? The owner dosnt know what it is just wants it gone.

The drum belt keeps tension on the idler pulley should the belt break the idler is released then makes contact with a micro switch to break the electrical circuit or shut down gas supply. Burnt heating element check continuity with multi meter. Faulty thermo switch, usually when these fail the spade connector will show evidence of over heating. Timer could be faulty. Hidden inside the control panel you'll find and envelope that contains the wire schematic and diagnostic codes for late model machines. While you have it apart vacuum all the lint from the inside of the cabinet and the motor, add a few drops of lube onto the oil light bushings, their surrounded by a felt wick. Over time the accumulated lint sucks the oil from the wick ending in premature motor failure.

I may end up selling this to a guy that has bought other stuff off me. minus the deck. He was going to buy it sunday and give me the price im asking but he decided he didn't want the deck and i told him it was a package deal. But if i changed my mind let him know. I think i will lower the price and keep the deck. I will deliver it to. but only if he still want to. we will see. I am a nice guy I love to wheel and deal. I have gave some folks great deals in the past couple years. I sold a 1965 jd 110 original with the original head lights and taillight, seat cover, motor. ran perfect look good for its age for $425. The lady that bought it knew my late dad and it was made the year she was born she still has it and loves it. She was happy and so was i. folks dont need to rip people off. If we want to keep these old pieces of iron going we have to make deals.

Just a warning.... I had to call animal welfare because someone else who shall go unnamed never gave his horse a bath after plow day. Rode it hard and put it away wet and broken. Second year in row this happened... I now have legal custody of said horse... Just sayin.…

These are some great ideas. Thank you. This idea is just in the thought stage and will take some time in between build kitchen cabinets. But I want to get it all planned out and gather the supplies so I can just go at it hard when the time comes.

With the belt driven trans on the Horizontal Shaft Wheelhorses like we’re used to, the rear end could articulate too for better crawling traction!

That sprocket on the bottom moves when you pull the handle on the left side. It moves but dosnt lock in place and dosnt appear to do anything. I didnt look at the wagon to carefully. I dont think they are C-clamps it seems very solid but I will have a closer look. We are supposed to be having 70mph winds today so I may not get a chance to do anything to it today since my garage isnt that big so I work outdoors. The chain on the rear wheel has no purpose as far as I could tell either.

Just to think my (24"x52") 1/2 ton water filled roller pushes my Mahindra eMax (gear) compact around on our hilly property and it has "good" brakes.

115 hours , I highly doubt anything major is wrong with it... But anything is possible... Could be something as simple as dislodged carbon , valve tappet clearance to big , low oil pressure (did you change oil and filter before start up?) To more involved like a loose valve seat or rod bearing... IMHO the Onan gets a bad rap they are hard to beat when running right a little finicky yes but opposed twins have more torque than the Vs and nothing sounds quite like an Onan up on the governor singing its song.
