As long as I remember there has been a well rusted (or as some people like to call it "patina") 867 wheel horse sitting in my grandparent's barn. I loved that thing, and I always promised myself that I would own it one day. Well now, 15 years later, it's sitting in my garage. The best part is, it was free and it runs perfect. I drove it all the way to my house, which is actually only about a 1/2 mile from my grandparent's house, but it felt like a very long time. The first thing I did was put a stack on it. It just felt right that it should have one. Today was a very rainy day, but that doesn't get in the way of having some fun on my horse! I decided to take the 867 for a rip around the block. My neighbors probably hate me because it so loud with its stack, but I don't care. I own my dream tractor.

Hello All, Hope everyone is coping well with this virus mess... On my way to my sisters house I passed this... stopped and made deal. Then I looked around and found the place just too quiet and without any livestock or equipment. Come to find out the whole farm is in foreclosure.... the equipment auction happened April 2019. Nobody wanted the old non running "little tractor".... well the electronic ignition is off of it and @Sparky gave me a used pickup and coil to try. If that doesnt work it will get converted to 12 volt ignition. I dont think its been used much and check out the 3 point hitch! Sad to see Rockland farms heading into history.... at least the 'horse will live on. Tony

Today my wife asked if the old push mower still worked she wanted to cut the monkey grass back. I've been doing it with the Z turn the last couple of years, but like most things I don't do it to her standards . So I dug it out from the back of the shop checked the oil , still has a little gas in the tank at least 2 years old but it's non ethanol with some PRI-G gas treatment looked okay. Pumped the primer bulb 7 or 8 times pulled the cord, third pull , filled the tank with new gas and off she went. #nonethanol!! Side note the monkey grass doesn't look any different to me than when I do it, but she says it is, but after 43 years I just smile, I knew I shoulda married her sister. Stay safe.

I had to share my son Travis’s Facebook post. A brief history........ I bought that truck when I was 18 (1986 Chevy square body) and drove it for many years then Travis wanted it so we gave it to him for a graduation gift (it was ruff) so he worked on it and put lots of time and $ into it and we LS swapped the engine and now he is very proud of it as he should be! I sure do miss it!!! I love his caption 😂😁

I sat down to watch "Follow that Bird" with my kids. It's the movie from 1985 when Big Bird is adopted by a family of DoDo birds in Oceanside, IL. He tries to walk back to Sesame St.. To my surprise, a late 70s wheel horse makes a few appearances, and Waylon Jennings showed up too! Working on getting pics.... my mac blocks screenshots of itunes movies. Edit: This is my phone photographing my laptop.

Well, you asked for it... Emory had it out riding yesterday and loves it!!! Here she sits in the early morning dew. I’ll get some pics of Emory out cruising later on. I’ve been up since early laying a little paint on the ole D160! The other ranger is waiting for a little love - not to mention a transmission as its was busted from water freezing in it.

Nice tractor! I’m a fan of stacks but not the noise of an open exhaust, mine still “muffles”.

Made the C-141 run excellent today! I'd never been around a real Kohler carb that didn't have .050 of throttle shaft slop. Hunted down the suggested bushings (Finally found them at an ACE about 15 miles from my house) and put them in a carb that I had all but written off because it was so worn out. And WOW! It runs exponentially better, not just at idle but throughout the RPM range. I bought 10 at $0.99 a piece. figure I'll do the C120 next and then do the 1650. Both are incredibly sloppy. If anyone on here has a sloppy throttle shaft, fix it! Takes $2 and 15 minutes. Hillman 58087. Takes two per carb.

Firstly i built a new Toy to crumble the Soil. Therefore i mounted few springs on the forkplatform. A testride show‘s it works perfectly as planed. While i do the crumble, i see again the tip of the Rock witch has killed my Tiller and i decide to remove it. So i decide to increase Seattime, with the Beast, because i still needed excessive use of the Loader to diggin the Rock out of my Field. Diggin 45 cm deep into Soil around that Rock to remove it. I nearly forgot to take any Pictures of this Action, but i do remember ( nothing is happen without evidence) and do a Picture while refilling the Area back. I missed to take a Pict of the Rock, but i have to react quick - it was a huge thing with about 35cm in diameter. Our neighbour Sepp come along with his huge Fendt and pick that rock to trash it somewhere into forrest. after refilling i mount again the Plow and do again pull rows into soil. Plow Day - the second. Weather plays along with 20deg. and i was able to enjoy my Seattime today. Forecast tells here - some Snow shall be up at tomorrow. 👍

With a big stack like that you can have a little evening extravaganza, Run the engine up to wide open throttle, turn off the ignition for a couple revolutions and then turn it back on. The flames the big stack will shoot should make your neighbors real happy. Don't tell your grandfather though.

Well, I haven't posted a lot lately since life seems to have taken over. As many of you know, my son suffered a stroke before birth and technically has cerebral palsy. You would never know to meet him. We were lucky enough to get him enrolled in a medical study to help him gain use of his right hand through Virginia Tech and Carrillion Research center. He is one of about 140 kids from around the world to be chosen. He has a cast on his arm and hand he favors to force him to use his affected hand. We have had to move 2 hours from home 3 days a week. I thought it would be something fun for him to go get a cultivator from Limited12. Tommy has been a good friend for the last couple of years. When we got there, Emory wanted to look at Tommy's tractors. He really liked a couple of Lawn Rangers Tommy had. Before I knew it, Tommy and Emory were off talking about the tractors. They ended up flipping a penny for the tractors. Long story short, Tommy told Emory he would "sell" him both tractors for a penny! I couldn't believe how generous he was being. Needless to say, Emory was thrilled and can't stop talking about his tractors! I told a couple of girls I teach with about Emory's gift. One said, "That's proof that there really are truly nice people left in the world!" I know where a bunch of them are - right here on Red Square! I can't seem to get the site to let me upload any pics. I'll try again Sun. or Mon. when I'm back in cell range. Thanks Tommy for bringing a big smile to his face!

I figured out these ball joint pickle forks work well to pull this snow blower pulley! I am shimming the “press” with wrenches on the shaft progressively.

I do this to get rid of all the slop in all the components. Make up a pin from 1/2" rod (I used stainless steel) then drill out the front hitch and the 2 hood pivots. Oversize hood pivot pin.pdf As you can see I use cotter pins and washers instead of the E-clips.

More pics of Trina's painting prowess. Love the copper color on the hubs Lift handle is the same metallic brown textured as the frame/transmission. This'll likely end up being my clutch. Transmission is ready for installation

Unless you have the proper measuring devices and know how to use them I would advise you to take tha block and crankshaft to an engine machine shop. You can spend a lot of money on parts and be disappointed with the results if you don't do it right.

I just picked up the same chipper shredder vac. Those things kick up a lot of dust and debris. I agree with using ethanol free gas and keeping a clean air filter. I also use some Sea Foam and Sta-Bil into all my small engines. When I fill my can up at the gas station I mix it right in there so what ever I am putting gas in, it is all ready treated. I even use it in my 2 stroke stuff, like chain saws and string trimmers.

So I finally got myself a day off from the family projects, and dove into a steering upgrade and test fitting of new shoes for my baby. Do not know if it has any interest, but thought I would share, so perhaps someone else could use the info. Ore just have a laugh at my fumbling around . My current worker C195 goes as my test platform too, where I try out different ideas to make sure they work as intended. When all the ideas are testet thru, the no goes are discarded, and a restomod will start on a second C195 i have stored for that purpose. Hense, the pictures will show a C195 with less than pretty solutions here and there, and some unfinished mods. This is baby Steering is a bit loose, but it already has the gear reduced setup from a 520. So in order to fix some of the slop/play, and to make room for bigger front wheels, i dug out a very tight front end from a 520 that I had saved for this project. One of the major advantages to the steering was adapting the steering rods with zero play, compared to the "ball in a square hole" type, that was on it. The front end on a C195 is a bit wider in the pivoting point than a 520 setup, so I had to shim it quite a bit. Another advantage to the 520 setup is the threaded end of the 1" spindles. The C195 is also 1", but drilled and tapped type. The threaded type is as custom made for trailer hub upgrade. I went for 4 on 4 bolt pattern. The rims are 7x8, with a 0 offset, and pretty much eats up the full 4 inches that the 520 front end is wider than the C195's. But the steering arms on the spindles can not fit, so a little tweaking had to be made. Nice and tight I put new roller bearings and thrust washers in, and reused the old ones on top of the spindle. That took all play out of the spindles. Tire time. 20x10-8. Water filled to help keep the front down when something heavy is on the rear of it. Those things are heavy when full. I tubed them and gave them a 100% fill, which adds 85 lbs per wheel. + the trailer spindle setup, then lets call that at least 90 lbs extra on each front wheel. Here's a few shots of a 520 wheel and the std 195 wheel in comparison. Got it all aligned. A tip is to make sure the "triangle" is centered, and work from there. I measured the with of the rear end, which now was narrower than the front by two inches. Then used a peace of square tubing to put on the side of the front tire, and then adjust till there was 1 inch space to the rear tire. So now it tracks straight Now all this would just look silly, if nothing was done to the rear, so on to the shelves, where I found these. They are 14x15 rim shells, and centers. I pressed the centers in place to give me 1" clearing on the inside. Then mounted them on the tractor, and ran them to see any wobble. tapped them until they ran true, and welded them up. So now is when you think: 14" wide???? WTF is that crazy dude mounting on those.................... 31x15.5-15 on top of the standard 27" wheel. And no, they did not go on by hand and two screwdrivers like the fronts These got a 100% water fill too. The new rims were heavier without tire, than the complete std wheel. The new wheel with tire is a hand full to lift without water, and I estimate they are at least 40 lbs heavier each than the std. The water fill adds 285 lbs to each wheel, so at least 325 lbs extra for each rear wheel. No more slipping I hope Forgot to take pictures of it, but I put bolts in the rear hubs, and now it runs real lug nuts on the rear too. This is how it turned out It is now in use as my daily worker How does it run and feel? Well, changed is a mild description. The steering is much tighter, and the added 900+ lbs to the wheels, and the bigger diameter certainly has put it's mark on how it reacts. The roughly 30 hp diesel has a lot more to log around, and I feel the hydro is working harder. Much harder. now it can pull rpm's down quite a bit in idle, just by accelerating. I am aware that I have to be more careful with the controls. Before I was hard on it. full speed ahead and fast stops etc. This is just too much weight to handle like that. But on the very positive side, it now pulls like the 1 ton tractor it sort of is. No slipping, and no discussion if it is the tractor, or the trailer or what ever implement that decides where we should go. The wider stance and weight has made it incredibly stable. I will be testing out a bit of tilling today too. Why did I chose a 100% water fill? well that was simply to avoid the water moving around in the tires. Also to test out as much weight as possible. This is surely on the high side of what it should handle long term. What can I say. On tractors I like big butts

Not to bad mouth the hydros fellas but anything ground engaging rates a gear jammer. There are some exceptions on on other brands of course. I've tilled abit with a 520 and while with a small plot amd does an adequate job IDK if I would want to do it on a fairly large plot. Hydros have ther place and I would not do without one for blowing or pushing. I threw the mid mount blade on a 1077 just cause others were hurtin.... blade went back on the 867 once the outboard bearings got replaced and much more workable. Just MHO. Wished they they had a tiller for my vintages !

I kept the snow away for the entire winter! Bought a two tractors with snowblower. one for my house and one for my mother in law's. I did just put the 520H away today, but I didn't pull the snowblower and could still get it out if needed. Have other 520H with the Kwik-way starting running right, so the snow should stay away.

I spent time off and on the last few days working on Emory's Lawn Ranger. I just have to rig an old push mower tank I have until I can find a gas tank. He wanted me to take his picture sitting on it and post it up. He's planning on bringing it to the big show with us - one happy boy!!
