Thanks Mike. I'll pass the word along. We've done 2 complete frame off restorations and a partial repaint. She's the de-finish and re-finish department all in one. There's a couple threads covering those tractors. One was Cinnamon Horse, the other is her first tractor. A 657. Here she was yesterday working on getting one of the pieces cleaned off. We've had a light year for snow so far. Usually by about mid February and into March we have a 3 to 5 foot deep base.

Whaaa you tell her she did a dang fine job.....I was going to say I think depending on what the plow was for they had different strenth of springs, for dirt I think they are a tad stronger then for snow.....but to save a buck, well actually just being plain ol cheap maybe I go to the scrap yard or dump and watch for garage door springs, they can be cut to length and bent but dont use heat it removes the spingy in them. I see you all down there have snow too. we have had 3 good size dumping so far, but tonight it warmed right up and is raining now. I just hope the temp doesnt nose dive and freezes.....thered be ice gallor. Oh I got the right side sheet metal almost dun, its still very rough and I still need to weld and tweek it in a few places and then smooth it......18 guage can be a bit fun to work with.

My Honey and I spent some time working on 2 plows today. Trina wants to try out plowing snow with her 867 "Pig Pen/ Otha Tracta" so I took apart a 42" plow & frame so she could de-rust-icate the plowing surface and toss a bit o paint at it. Her plow is Krylon Pimento Red. (It was here so she used it). On the Cinnamon Horse I've been noticing that the blade "trips" forward to easily. The springs are a little deformed and likely quite worn. Rather than buying new ones I decided to put an extra set of springs on to see what happens. Sooo We also dismantled the plow from my tractor and while I was working on the new rods Trina de-rust-icated the plowing surface and tossed a bit o paint at it... Looks pretty orange but that's the Cinnamon color. I took the rods from mine to use for the one on Trina's tractor and built 2 new longer rods from 1/2" steel round stock. Installation will be completed later this week after the paint dries.

I filled a few holes and dragged some rock around the driveway since the weather was nice. It wasn’t really necessary but it was fun.

This morning I did my routine Sunday and came in the back door of my kitchen only to find my Pella door it is completely rotted out from moisture. This really set the wheels in motion forA complete overhaul of my home which I built 20 years ago. So I have decided to start the process of building a new kitchen cabinets and two bathroom vanities. I'm planning on retiring in five years and I surely don't want to do this when I'm retired. That is what my tractor collection is for. So today I decided to clean out the shop and put all my red parts and collection away for now and turn my shop back into a woodshop. I only hope this all doesnt take too long !!

Well I tweeked it a bit more and then smoothed her out. and put a dimple around where it fits between the pto clutch n the drive pulley. I still need to weld in where I made a goof up and then drill a hole where it will bolt to the engine block. I think Ill for now leave it long, but once I start building the cab Ill have to split it to enable its removal when replacing belts, comes off relatively easy now though. Wew Ill say this, with 18 guage it sure is slow going with hammer n dollies......no wonder they called our old cars tanks hahahah, that metal is quite heavy. Ebonmaine you make sure the wife leaves some work for you ya hear......hehehehehe. She sure looks like she is right into it. That is a rare quality having a partner that gets right into it...is a blessing for sure.

I use up all the misc quart cans of gloss rustoleum and brush it on the undersides of the decks. good way to use up the paint, who cares what color, seems to help the decks hold up longer

To answer your question, i guess maybe 1 or 2 as Flowerpot 😂 Renaults has the reputation, they rotten faster than they drive.. 😎

@ebinmaine I have to open the center up to at least 7” wide so the oil pan sump will drop down between the frame rails. The rest of the pan will be above the frame. The engine has to sit off to the left just a little bit to line up with the Xi drive shaft. Just a little bit. I also want to use the tilt column, front axle and steering from the Xi.

How’s this Lane? It will be fully welded but right now just held together till I figure out joining the two different frames. 👍

This time the frame is an old stacked chair cart once destined for the dumpster... Basic design: seating for two high sides roof chimney colors... uhm, red with black trim (hood)...catchy huh? Pic is of my design consultants / assistant wrenches, the video is of the current SL&WHN RR set up in action, and a shot of the caboose and associated parts waiting paint, final fabrication and assembly... I am informed by my twin nephews that a Christmas Day ride is expected... so the pressure is on...seating for 9...ALL ABOARD! Going to rebuild an RJ transmission in February while in Lorida, Florida at Rodney Burgers! Taking a complete transmission and a mix of new and old RJ parts! hope to make one good one and maybe get the three piece housing , bearings and oil seals for a second transmission.

Saturday night Jada helped me mix up some more mud and we finished the mortar bed. We had enough left over mud to make a little stepping stone if it holds together. The chicken coop occasionally gets sloppy in the weather so she likes to hop from block to block to gather eggs. Today, I’ll sand some more drywall seams and see where additional mud is needed... then work on my window boxes.

So I have decided to go thru the deck of my 312-8 this winter while I look for my next horse. I don't think the old girl ever had a bath on her under carriages but in all honesty it was not that bad when I started to scrape her down. Very little rust on the under side none on the top. . Anybody have a good recommendation for the coating for the underside, maybe something with Teflon in it. I've got a fair amount of clean up and allot of prep work to do but I thought I would ask now thanks in advance

It’s cut down to height and will work out just swell. Here is the light “fixture” that’ll be over the vanity. It is from a dead ash tree that I felled about 10 years or so ago. I hand milled a few slabs with my chainsaw for a shelf and this was the first cut. I have the rest of the pieces to house the bulbs in mason jars.

It was listed on Red Square by a new member who joined for the sole purpose of selling the 310-8. I called him about ten minutes after it was listed and sent the money via PayPal friends and family about five minutes later. The next day I headed over to Pigeon Forge to pick it up. He said he had several other members who called after me, one even offered more than the asking price (it was a steal). He was a real nice guy who had bought it from the dealer new, stored it indoors and provided all of the service records.

I've used POR!5 on the underside with good success. It has held up for 4 mowing seasons. I have good grass coverage and not much sand. Some others have said it doesn't hold up for them. Also have heard of good success with a EZ slide paint from Tractor Supply

I’m waiting for final bits of drywall mud to dry and for the shower mortar bed to finish curing. I whipped up a different width piece of shiplap to come up to the bottom of the window boxes. To “trim” the sides, I’ll have to make 4 different shaped pieces for uprights. The area around the light will be cut to fit the picture frame and the next top piece will be cut differently too. This will essentially allow the shiplap undercut to be a molding for the window boxes.

BIGTRIX34 , been doing this for years , my decks are upside down now over winter , combination oil spray , soaking in and keeping them like new . i do it a couple of times a year , always letting the sun heat them downside up to heat up and soak in the oil , kills off the crud and zero rust. also use lucas red and tacky grease on the spindles, also probably replace the idler pulley , known for noise . have a few other mods i do , if interested, pete

We played Rack-O last night. Card and board games are common in our family. We don’t take it easy on the girls either, it makes them into pretty fierce competition!

My window boxes are done. Now to cut the shiplap pieces to fit the windows and trim...

So update is the casting is going in today for repair .... this may actually get done before Christmas . Though I can’t really do anything to help I’m just happy that my nephew is letting me be apart of this and that’s the best present he could ever get me .

At one time i used to react to issues the same way. I have found that sometimes the stress is just not worth it. For as little the cost, buy a couple seals and move on. E bay is a good source for some items but is full of re-sales. The kind of sales where people sell a thousand items a day and make a buck on each re-channeling the sale though the bay. That is why some E bay purchases come in Home Depot boxes, Amazon boxes etc. If it is a must for you, send those seals back in the PP envelope. They are just going to throw them away.

The black loader tractor was from DJ Harrison I believe, possibly the other one too? I recognize that shiny weight in the photo albums up top... Jason Crapo items maybe?

If you can’t find one for a Ferd, possibly you’ll be able to find one for a snow plow pump? Those are actually a bit cheaper at my local Parts Plus and right on the first shelf by the door this time of year...

I have had pretty good luck in the past with eBay's buyer protection. That said, I'm sure the person working for eBay is a 20-something millennial that has never as much as put their hand on an engine. If they insist on you sending something back, I would send the box with the crank seals and ask for a partial refund.

I ((think)) what we have is slightly darker. But ... I've never seen a Brillion in person. Nice color though. I'd still use it if it were the same. I'll run it by the paint department. We've talked about making up an electrolysis tub too. She really likes the hands on physical activity of building these rigs.

Feeling inspired after the seeing the pics, so why not lets just go for a ride and take some photos.

It is a 518Xi parts machine I bought. I have a 522Xi I plan on using for my mowing duties and jumped at the chance for a parts machine. So I figured I could make something out of the transmission and rear frame section. I have a lot of Gt14 parts already. I am trying to build a gt14 with the diesel engine and Xi rear section. Gonna be a challenge but I am up for it. I’m trying to get it to a roller and then add it to the list of projects 👍
