So I've already done this for the most part, but wasn't a member on here at the time. My grandfather had an old 14hp wheel horse that was the first mower I started using in life. After they had passed and I inherited the property and me and my fiance (now wife) decided we were going to move there permanently, I started going through the garage and restoring / getting running everything I could get my hands on. Lots of memories out in that garage. Anyways, I found a magnum 14 for sale on craigslist as the old K series 14 had totally self destructed whenever I was in highschool around 2007/2008 and had sat dead ever since (he got a zero turn mower after it broke and never got around to fixing it when he started getting worse health wise). Got it put back together.. Here was the first run on the tractor itself over at my parents house after dad and I put it back together. And once I got the deck back on and the "old" exhaust he had on the old engine. Back to being in the working crew.. Before I also got my wife's 417A I don't have an old picture of it with the old K series engine and the stickers still being on it, when the old engine blew up my pap had sanded it down and re-painted it but never put new stickers on it.. I think my wife got me those for christmas for it. That old engine had more hours on it than any small engine I know, he bought it new in 78 or 79, and it took him 4 hours to mow his entire yard with it. It for sure mowed until at least 2007, and he had to mow in the spring and early summer once every 5 days as the yard has natural springs and the grass grows like wildfire. In fall once every 10 days was his estimate once august rolled around. He figured out when it blew up that if those numbers were true and he mowed may-end of october he was using it about 108 hours a year plus snowblowing and tilling and random other small jobs with it so just say 110 hours a year. 28 ish years would be a little over 3000 hours, so it did it's time. You can tell he hated the deck and just made his own anti-scalp wheels for the deck. He loved to weld. I'm glad it's back in action, I mow 3/4 of my property with my big Case with a woods finish mower now, but there is still enough area to mow in that other 25% that the smaller riding mowers get an hour of mowing time finishing the smaller areas with more trees and stuff to turn around. My front yard alone is a bear to mow and my back yard is bigger just more stuff to mow around up there.. That stupid zero turn mower I try to avoid using at all costs unless I'm not able to use the Case, I just don't like it. Clumps up the grass worse than the woods finish mower, loves breaking belts, carb is junk but all the ebay carbs are junk, the hydro drags the engine on steep hills unless you go slow, I just don't care for it.

It is a MUT, they probably were referring to the 65 different models parts were taken from. We all know that you are such a purest. You probably wouldn't want to drive a modified . Why not, the two year long bathroom is nearly half finished.

Here's one you don't see every day. This is a 1969 Arctic Cat Panther P-12k snowmobile, with a factory issue Kohler K-301. There were 885 of them built that year. It's a torque monster to be sure.. and the K adds a lot of weight compared to the 2 cycle models. Top speed is about 25mph and it'll pull down a mountain.. Never have to worry about a breakdown however.. Figured you all would get a kick out of it.

A friend of mine has a home at Cherry Springs in Potter County, PA. He regularly has guests in the yard. While visiting, these guests came right to the porch. Did you know that they stink in the hot summer?

Yes technically SG's were gone in 68. Keeping true to form tho WH may have had some motors they needed to use up on the early Raiders. Waste not want not I guess. Looks like there is a tag under the dash for a PI. I'm thinkin modded Raider too would have to be a very early Raider with the SG but then should have a metal tank. 6" fronts?? they look small something off on the headlight lens cigar lighter there possible mods?? Franken horse any year but a $300 tractor all day + 150 for the plow Pull the trigger and go get it ! We'll check for antlers later!

Bought mine from a Red Square vendor, www.wheelhorsepartsandmore.com If your not a fabricator with a welder (I'm not) this is the way to go. All the research and development has been done by someone else for a seemless install.

This plow is for snow or that's what I have used it for in the past, the plow hasn't been on in 3 years I've always had the blower on in case of deep snow. The grandsons are finally getting big enough to start supervised operating with a plow, so we are going to let them have a try at it.

A few thoughts based on my 60+ years living, hunting and camping in the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains. I believe truly wild creatures fear and prefer to avoid contact with humans. The exceptions are: Extreme hunger when they lose their ability to hunt efficiently due to disease and old age. Their need to protect their food source or kill. Their need to protect their offspring. Losing their fear of humans due to illegal feeding. Black bears exist in nearly every county in Pa. They are normally black in color, but cinnamon colored black bears are not uncommon. I have had many sightings and close encounters with black bears, most of them while hunting spring turkey in the Appalachian Mountains in W Va, Md, and Pa. One very close encounter occurred while hunting spring gobblers in Savage River State Forest in western Md. I was walking a ridge top trail where I would stop every 100 yds, set up against a tree and do a series of hen calls. I had just stepped about 5 steps off the trail to set up against a big oak and started my calls when I saw black movement in the laurel 15 yds to my left. I thought I was about to bag my gobbler, instead a 400 lb sow with 3 cubs in tow stepped out and was about to pass on the trail 5 steps in front of me. The thoughts racing through my head, please God do not let them detect me and force me to protect myself. My fear was they would be alarmed and one of the cubs would scamper up the tree I am sitting against putting me in danger. The last thing I wanted to do was be forced to protect myself by killing this this bear and orphaning her 3 cubs. Luckily as the sow passed 5 steps in front of me, she caught my scent, gave an alarm whoof, turned off the trail and the cubs followed her down the side of the mountain. I have had close encounters with black bears that were suffering from extreme loss of fur due to mange. This is a very sad sight and I will not post those pictures here. I have no personal contact with brown bears, but my understanding is this species is called brown , grizzly or Kodiak based on the area where they exist. I

Hahah ya every time I step into my shop its like Im in a time machine. 7:30am to usually 10 at night and I rarely stop unless I have to think and double think.....eating whaaaa that takes time away from playing lol. Sometimes i do though but very rarely. At night when I finally finish I do eat like a Horse hehehe, pun intended. Im out here now and just ploting some bracing and then I start forming some fresh sheet metal for guards and to keep dirt out of cridical areas. Make it a test when you know your going to have to adjust or replace something like a spring or belt so Ill be incorperating opening panels so I dont have to remove the whole body due to lack odf access. Well I got the filler structure all welded up....took me from 7:30 am till now. Its all nice in accurate too whahhh so glad. Sheet metal work I hope tomorrow, covering the structure to keep the dirt out.

@stevasaurus Very sorry to hear of your Moms passing, if she was anything like you she must have had a great sense of humor. I also lost my Mom this past August at 97 years old. Mom would get a taxi to go to the local Tavern for her Johnny Walker Black with only one small ice cube 2 or 3 times a week and play Keno and if She didn't show up the other Patrons would call in case she needed a ride. she was the life of the party. She did this until 6 months before her passing. Again my Sympathy for you and Family. Take Care.

You guys are something else!! Let me at least say a little bit about her. Born in Chicago in 1928...a lot of you guys are not going to know what that date means. It means that you were a kid during the Depression. It means that you were a kid after the 1st war to end all wars. It means that you were going through the 2nd war to end all wars as a teenager. It meant that you were probably farmed out to relatives or a home to take care of you because your parents could not take care of all of their kids. My mom and her sister were brought up as cousins...not knowing they were sisters until their 20's. My Dad's story is pretty much the same. I have a ton of friends my age, and the story of their parents is always so similar it knocks you out. My Mom and Dad married at 21...their birthdays are 1 week apart. They had me the next year...(might be the best thing that happened to them). Anyway, if you wanted to play TOP THIS for scars, you would not stand a chance. She was almost bionic...quadruple heart by-pass, both hip replacements and some others that I should keep in the family. She was strong until the end, and I got to spend her last days with her at her home. I am blessed that I was able to do that...and I am so happy that she lived a full life...and I am missing her already. She was into the horses, because my Dad bought them and got into a business. After he passed, she was out there in the shed with me getting the 4 of them out of moth balls and running again. That's when we found Red Square. I brought her home a T-Shirt from the 1st Big Show that I went to...and T-Shirts from some of the other shows that were going on during those years. She always enjoyed looking at all the pictures I brought back to share with her. I'll tell you this...if our house would have been near the railroad tracks (back in the day)...the hobo's would have marked her mail box as a safe place to get a good meal and a place to rest. Rest in Peace Mom...I love you.

I just figured out a uses for all those giant flower pots that my wife stores in the shop. I wonder if she will notice them missing.

I haven’t mentioned heat source in the room, but you’re close! I plan to have a heat loop under the floor in the entire bathroom, controlled by a thermostat and some cool pumps through a heat exchanger. I have 130 gallons of stored hot water when the outdoor wood boiler is running, 80 gallons during the summer. There is an air duct heating and cooling the room currently, but I’ll stick a shut off in that for winter months.

Seems I’ve heard that saying... maybe last time I looked at a tractor for you! Not too far off what Jim said... but a couple hours away and I can’t say I should even be looking right now...

tractor looks cool, look forward to seeing what you do with the exhaust. The front end of your tractor looks to be steel, the two horses I have that section is cast iron and it was a little trickier to redrill etc. haha I was a few mins away from running one of those, I just decided that the opposed engine fit the theme better..... I really wanted to run my opposed engine sideways, and let the carb and exhaust hang out the side but I would have had to relocate the battery and gas tank.....

Hahahaha Im the same way brodere.....until I get a kitchen in the shop it'll never happen. Just thank mother nature for winter, keeps my beer nice and frosty for the end of the day. Hmmm when I make time to buy some that is. Im always one of those guys that sais......oh beer time, oh crapper the beer stores been closed for 5 hours hahahaha.

This was my fabrication. I had to add the silver extension so that the sprocket clears the frame. I did have to change the chain length. Its been working perfectly for 3 years now.

Oh that view! The beach and the water, not your feet! Reminds me though, we just booked our next boat ride! Heading to Bermuda outta Boston for 7 days in May!

Lot of nice looking fab work above. My Horse doings are much less intense, the grandsons helped me make and install a new wear edge for the plow. Took the blower off the 16 auto and mounted the plow. Pulled the carb and gave it a good cleaning, and installed a new set of points.

Looking great Kevin! I’m excited for you and Taylor to see this project coming together. You have good pitch on the base “mud” and you made sure to float it out smoothly. The guy who installed mine didn’t do a good job on that portion of the install and it cost the finish stages of the project problems. 10 years later and I’m still not satisfied with the results on the floor. Water pools in some of the uneven portions of my floor and it always irritates me. Two👍🏻 For doing a good job on this part of the install...keep up the great work, I’m following along. Good to see Rylee in on the action too😉

Retaining wall drain? That would make more sense than a drain in the wall! I was so confused... yeah, it’s similar to that in a way. This drains to the center and has a rubber seal and a basket to catch hair from clogging the drain. The center just lifts out and the 1/4” gap around the perimeter will catch the water.

With the chain off spin it by hand. If you hear or feel a roughness one or both bearings are bad
