Hope you guys don't mind some more action shots. 520 with a single in 14" of fresh powder day before turkey day in northern WI deer camp. Busting the initial trail through 2 ft drifts in 30 mph winds was the worst. Got a real quick lesson on keeping the chute turned with the wind! Doing good till I lost the pin that holds the attach keeper up into the front attach. A tie down lashed the blower back to the tractor and ran a 1/4 mile backwards in my own tracks to camp for repairs. Luckily I found the bracket in the snow and a piece of all 3/8 all thead for a new pin and back in business. Finished clearing a 1/2 mile of road plus parking areas. Four hours of seat time not counting down time for repairs. 6 gallons of gas. Guys are right about needing to keep a single loaded up. Onan never missed a beat other than being thirsty.

Of course here in the mid south we don't get a whole lot of snow but when we do I will be ready !

FINALLY getting the final touches on this rig. Put these wheel weights on the 520 tonite on loan from Jack. Kind of pain to put on Josh but will be well worth it we get some snow I'm sure. Also fitted with Hillbillie's mandatory sno chute. Just waiting for Dan to get "grilling" and burn some things for me! Many thanks to Hillbilly Jeff, NEPA Kurt and Brian aka Super C for the lift rod and helping me put this thing together. Best advice to those who want to join the deuce bag club is buy one that is all there!

Got the Little Green Tractor finished up and ready for next years show season. New rear bumper, added 2nd set of horns, and totally rebuilt front end were a few of this years improvements.

I think this may be what we are all after... @Kurt-NEPA or @wallfish?

Learned a few things. Solid link on the plow= awesome for the icy crust from this storm. Chains and turf tires = awesome. I’ve had the chains on the AGs and they stink. The biggest thing I missed was the fun I had pushing snow on it!!😁 Oh! And these monkey grip gloves are the best thing going for hands on snow removal. Hands warm and dry and they might save a finger from a snowblower. 😲 don’t ask how I know.

Hey no worries Gary. That's what we're all here for. Glad to hear it works well. Now how bout some pics??

I'll have some pics and video later today of my 416H running a 41" single stage. We got hammered here over the last 2 days and I have not been home to VT yet. Been staying at my girlfriend's house which is closer to my work in NY. I'm leaving work soon (sick time cough cough) so I can go play. I'm hoping the 416 and single stage will handle it. I'm currently trying to button up my install of the 2 stage on my 161 but the snow came early. We will see I guess. This is a photo from my cameras I have setup at the house. I'm driving my Tahoe but as you can see my car is pretty buried.

Of course I'd be remiss if I didn't post this annual pic here... my favorite sno mover...the missus with a shovel!

I would like to thank Stevasaurus and Eric for helping me with the plow set up. that works great. I just put a little pressure on the handle and it cleans it down to the pavement. A big . I have had many plows in the past but I never took the time to set them up right. Happy plowing>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This is from last year. C-145 with single stage blower, no problems with clogging up! Nothing here as of yet

Ok guys here it is twin Briggs on a 875, has anyone tried this yet need a little help, looking for options on an air filter, and trying to cut as little as possible out of the hood here is what I got so far, I’m going to get a 1/4inch piece of flat steel to mount the engine on so I can move it around on the frame
  15. 4 points
Actually no Jim but it does look like one. Regular stick build with common trusses. Back in '87 when I built it T-111 was all the rage in siding so that's what I used . Trouble was the siding had defects where missed material made horizontal strips in-between the vertical grooves. Bugs got in the horizontal strips then the woodpeckers went after the bugs & sometimes put a hole right through it. Louisiana Pacific the maker had to cough up some coin so say the lawyers but I never got any! Couple years back I got tired of looking at it and staining all the time so just put steel on and was done with it. Yes this single surprised me on how far it launched it. They don't do well with light dustings tho.. 2 or less inches. You have to run in 3rd or as fast as the hydro will push to keep it loaded up. My short chute doesn't do nearly as well. Fact last year the short got ripped right off in slush and ain't gonna get fixed --- look for a long chute and convert it.

i think you should install an airspeed indicator and maybe a turn and bank.... vertical speed would be nice too

EB, you may want to consider adding a Garmin or other GPS so you can find your way home when you are out in the woods!

those weights look good with some fresh red on them and they are yours now! I can’t wait to see some video of that beast clearing your driveway into the neighbors

With the upsized engine pulley the 6.5 Predator Rat has a top speed of almost 9 mph. I usually push the little 42” blade at about 3/4 throttle or 7mph on my concrete drive and it really rolls it over nice.

51" should be 102 links if you measured center of the pin to center of the pin. Count them and see how much it has worn/stretched. When the 1/2" pitch increases from wear the rollers must run higher on the sprocket teeth and that is what wears out the sprockets. A new chain will put the rollers back in the bottom of the teeth where they belong for long life. You can get 10 feet of chain for a reasonable cost and get 2+ chains out of it. A roller chain tensioner is a very handy third hand for installing chain. It can also hold a length of chain installed to determine where it needs to be broken for proper length. When the U-shaped retainer is installed in the master link do so like the illustration. Arrow shows the direction of chain travel. If put in backwards a piece of ice can knock it off. Garry

We figured the 2001 dated tires would be a bear to dismount with a hitch and a bumper jack, he’d be better off saving time and driving down to let the machine do the work. It’s always good to have a visitor who likes a good chat! We probably spent more time yackin’ than we did workin’

Recalculating. How often would that be heard as Eric is on the trail only to go off trail to see some cool sight or chase a squirrel

Another option: A basic clock. No wiring needed...

Looks good Bear... didn't you have the deck wrench floor boards on it once or am I nuts as usual? You wake up alive for 2020 Portage show you best have that on the load or there'll be no fish fry or pulled pork in your future! We sure enjoyed seat time on your tractors last year!

So cool! Once you get the 1/4” plate under the engine, try cutting various blocks of wood at a certain thickness to sit on the carb and see if the hood clears. In die making we used modeling clay to run a die over in the press to see where the stop blocks needed to be. Maybe you could build a carb hat to relocate the filter like the GT-14?

Put the turfs and chains back on the L107 AGs off. Plowed down to the barn this morning with the Charger 12. Took the L107 down with her trailer and some tires. Barely made it back up the hill empty with the darn AGs. AGs are near worthless on packed snow or frozen ground.

Thank you! I appreciate it. I have went ahead and ordered one. Just working on some finishing touches. I am in need of some information regarding how to set of the deck belts and their sizes as well if any one knows.

In Portage in July, there was a Lawn Ranger converted to electric. The guy housed the batteries in a trailer box and had a heavy duty cable to power it all. It was quite a cool setup, just not too fast for cruise night! He also owned the doodle bug thingermajig that I drove around for a hot minute. We used my generator to power an electric motor on a belt to start the hit and miss engine, then we realized why he couldn’t start it by hand. There was a hole worn in the copper fuel line and it was sucking air. I think we electric taped that. All kinds of electrical in this story! I don’t believe he is a member here... but if you are, please show your face! It was a lot of fun chit chatting with you and your lady friend!

I used to run temp gauges on my air-cooled Arctic Cat snowmobiles in the early 2000s. My Trail Cat 4000 had a temp sensor ring that a spark plug was inserted through before it was then tightened normally into the cylinder head. I do recall the scale being 0-600 degrees. Here is a link to what I installed on my sled: https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-ARCTIC-CAT-TRAIL-TEMPERATURE-GAUGE-KIT-CYLINDER-HEAD-TEMP-ENGINE-TRAIL-CAT/113828669661?epid=593188559&hash=item1a80b7a8dd:g:nmgAAOSwvNddNxtV

I'll beat the dead horse. I'd have a volt meter, oil pressure gauge, and possibly an hour meter, just so I could have an idea of how long I've been on the tractor each time. Ammeters cause fires. I don't like having every bit of current that something draws going through a gauge. If I just had to have an ammeter, it would be an inductive ammeter.

@pfrederi When plowing speed is definitely king. I found that to be absolutely correct while plowing my neighbors 1/4 mile driveway at a steep incline over the years. Used to plow it with his C series in third gear. Then started using my Electro to do it. Going up hill Electro is much faster rolling snow off plow much easier. Then going downhill I actually have to hold it back since it will go twice as fast as uphill. Downhill snow just literally flies off plow. I do it the same way as you do. First pass with plow to side full throttle and speed at center of driveway, then up and down on opposite sides so I don't have to turn blade. This thing is absolutely unstoppable. So many time guys driving by with plow trucks just stop and watch me plowing it giving me the thumbs up.

Mister man, don't push me... I'll get a 5-inch analog backlit with a shift light set for 3599 RPM Funny you would bring up the fuel gauge. I was trying to think of how I could do something with that galvanized tank I intend to use. I do have a slight inkling of the fuel consumption on that beast. When I was getting it running it sucked up about a half a peanut butter jar of gasoline in just a few minutes.

Worked the heck out of the 16 auto and the 877 today on my 1/4 mile driveway. And what fun I had Just got the 877 at the big show this past year, and put a 48" plow blade on it. What a difference there is between the standard and automatic. I'd be hard pressed to go back to a gear jammer, now that I've used the auto.

B-80. Without a doubt the easiest machine to work on ever. Only two safeties, fuel tank is easily accessible/removable, minimal levers and rods, and everything is out in the open its so refreshing S16H. still easy (compared to a car) but nothing like a mid 70's Horse

Sorry guys , no attachments for the Wheel Horse . Only the poly dump cart . All I have is this semi-restored and re-powered '66 tank .
