My mock 1045 “Wheatland” model mock... from Sears Suburban toolbox and fenders, 753 Chassis and some square hood tins! for now, it’ll get racked for a back back burner project I think. But it’s a possibility!

Trina and I went with our friend this past weekend to a place roughly 17 miles past the asphalt... Big Spencer Mountain around noon. Big Spencer foreground left. Little Spencer in the background on the right. Just beside the setting sun. Big and Little Spencer Mountains lakeside view. Maybe 1/2 hour after sunset. First star of the night in view. It was in the high 20s both mornings. Our spoiled dog... Papa's warm chair... And a jacket... And a blanket.

Still needs fine tuning, remove sharp edges, clean up the overall install and what-not. But it’s back together and I buzzed around the yard a few times. It’s actually a bit more comfy for me now. I’m 6’1” and this mod gave me a bit more leg room

Got the big wheels out today to clean up the rest of the nasty apples off the trees. Caleb and Judge has fun shaking the trees and making “baskets” with the old apples into the trailer. About the time we were finishing, Achto stopped by and so I asked him if he wanted to drive Rusty up to the shed... Of course he took me up on it! We both agreed that it could use a new seat and some fresh “linen” paint on the wheels. I need to get Terry’s decals on it too...Fun afternoon Claudia picked through a couple of the “good” apples that Caleb found and made a scrumptious apple pie! We just finished eating some of that—yum!

Got one step closer to having a tractor ready for snow plowing. Finished making the parts that I was missing for the pivot arm to work, and sand blasted the plow blade. Then gave every thing 2 coats of self etching primer & 3 coats of paint. Not a show quality paint job, but it should be good enough to keep snow from sticking to the blade. Now that this is done, I'll soon be ready to hang it on the tractor. Then "Bring on some snow!!"

Just my opinion...but I wouldn’t plunk down $900 for that. In that one picture alone it’s missing 420LSE specific stuff (seat, front rims...etc). Looks like an abused 400 series to me.

Got a couple of bicycle brake levers from a scrap farm bike. Bit of a mod to were it fitted to the handle bar and connected it up. After drilling a hole through a 6mm set screw to thread the bicycle cable through. Hit a snag here. The lever not being straight fouled the handle when pulled right back. So I shortened the lever. Finally I did away with the R clip that held the chain to the location pin. Threaded the hole 6mm and secured the chain. Might throw some paint at it sometime. Also see if I can find a straight steel lever to fit. Maybe not pretty but it works and it cost me nowt. PS. Sorry about the poor quality of a couple of photo's. I need a Trina.

All zerks on a are 1/4 -28 fine thread Bill. They all pretty much take a 5/16 wrench or socket to replace. I would go with an assortment kit then you have some of each to cover all the bases. I also keep a 1/4-28 tap handy to chase threads if needed & sometimes I drill & tap one in if I think ther should be one ther. Hitch pins & rock shafts come to mind.

That it was. Might be a while before this under goes full surgery, but I definitely have some ideas bouncing around in my head. For right now, I tucked it away for a long winter's nap.

If you save the lips from the cutoff pieces and turn them outward like the 1045 you could weld them on and support the belt guard and sheet metal on the other side.

Easy decision, time to cut some sheetmetal.

Since I’ve been working on my VW Thing, Emory has decided he wants our next horse to have a military theme. My next one will probably be my D169. How would a big D look with a military theme? I had wanted to paint it up original and even have a nice set of @Vinylguy’s decals for it. What do you guys think? Please post up pics if you have them of any military themed Wheel Horses!

The plan is to have both our “normal” snow machines ready to go. In spite of all this snow, I still have set either one up yet. Momma’s “BIG RED” gets the deuce, chains, and 150# of hitch ballast... This one gets the action when the snow is deeper than 6” or is lighter and fluffy... As I’ve mentioned in the past, it has no problem launching the white stuff over 60’ when working with the wind. In the above pic, that 12’ tall tree under the “rooster tail” is about 30’ from the tractor! If the sbow is less than 6” or particularly wet, we use the diesel cub with the 60” hydraulic tilt blade. I won’t run AG’s on it this year as over the summer I acquired a spare set of turfs. Those will permanently get my 2-link V-bar chains. I have 2 96# tractor suitcase weights that can go in the custom rear bracket if needed. These are our normal snow movers. Now that Zach and I have Blackbeard repowered... I’m excited to try him out on blower duty. He came with the original snow blower that was purchased new with him. It has been patiently waiting along the shop wall for about 3.5 years. In the next week or so, Zach and I will pull it out, clean it up, assess any needed replacement parts, paint it up, and install... i even acquired a Cat-O weight box this summer in a trade for a different machine that will work excellent on here for ballast. I just need to make up a set of “long chains” for the tall tires!

Its definitely got some possibilities & they sure are comfy to plow on when set up decent.

Lordy, Tool Crib is right, its virtually a complete teardown to get to that dang thing!!

I've been using a HF 'kit' for some time and even tho they are from HF they have served me well...

if I could teach a dog to drive a tractor I probably would no longer need to work for a living

I did the wheel stud modification on my WH and it looks great. So much easier to fit the wheels too. The nuts are old style Ford ones and are chromed. They look the bees knees.

Kind of an unexpected acquisition. More than happy to give it a good home though.

Picked up a few parts from a couple of great members here @wallfish and @Chris T . Hmm, what should I do ?

Picked up a clean 1995 Single Stage, auger has the usual bends, scraper needs to be reversed but did not wear down to the frame. They couldn’t find the flag, so visited @wheelhorseman’s site https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com to get a new one sent out. Turns really freely, and looks amazing. More pictures when cleaned up and lighter outside. I think this will go on the 310.

Those weights look like plastic filled with concrete.If they are, you can make your own for a fraction of that price.I made these rear weights 25 years ago ago. They cost me a plastic dinner plate ,some 3/4" pipe and two bags of Quickrete.They are easy to make and form with readily available materials.

We need to place bets on this and make it interesting.

A condenser will do exactly that and easier to try. Garry

I think that's like a 1992. Honestly, my 416 is in amazing condition with a brand new deck, and I don't think I could get anywhere near $3K for it. Maybe $2K on a good day, tail wind, going down hill....

Everything has a block or something in place on the pallets to keep them from rolling

Just a thought here Kev maybe put a tie down around the wheel and pallet to keep it from rolling off case it jumps out of gear or parking brake not working. Makes me nervous seeing them up there like that... just sayin...

Wife had a few days away in Ireland recently and bought me a gift back. Genuine Irish number plate for my WH. Not sure if I should be thanking her for it.

We’re really getting somewhere! My father in-law suggested that I keep only enough WH stuff to fit in these racks. Once it’s full, I have to sell to buy. He’s an odd duck.

I just put the chains on the rear wheels this morning, so this 877 is ready And the 16 auto is ready if needed.

I have had this same thought in my mind since I got my 315-8 a couple years ago and then stumbled across the same info above. I have a C165 and have yet to have ANY single cylinder come close to it in low-end grunt. However, I will give the nod to fuel efficiency to my 315-8 compared to my C165, that CH15 sips the fuel. Both are great engines and respectable to this day and will serve one well provided they are maintained accordingly. With the pressurized lubrication and ohv, I see no reason why the Command series wont enjoy a long run like the K-series!

Added dually’s to the WHrat WHrecker... Used 12” pvc pipe with a 2” spacer width...12” carriage bolts. Tires are 23x8.5x12.
