Put a freshly redone hood on my C120. Something fell on it about 10 yrs ago and I finally redid one of my spare hoods so I could just swap it out. Cleaned and detailed the headlight assembly, added a new headlight lens , LED bulbs , fresh wire clips , new decals (thanks Terry). First time in 23 yrs that it's had the right decals on it , maybe now I can relax...…..

I found these on C/List for $10.00 I ask if they hold air they said? For $10.00 I took a chance and went to look at them with my dog. They fit but I think there a little taller. Nice country ride in the rain. I will put the chains on and the wheel weights.

Once upon a time, in the dim and distant past, I made myself a snowplough/dozer blade. The build is to be found here :- Unfortunately due to Photo****it the photo's are not very good, if viewable at all. Yesterday I thought it was about time I sorted out the non existent index mechanism. The lever I had already made. So I rescued it from it's hiding place. Also had a scrat about for things to make the other parts I needed. Some chain. A gash gate/door hook retaining eye and other bits. Not photo's taken during the process, but the following one's should be self explanatory. That much does work. Now all I have to do is find/make a lever to operate the location pin.

The “2054” got some temporary shoes today. These will eventually be replaced by the same tires but 26-11x15 on 10” wide wheels. These are 26-9.0x15 on stock gt14 wheels.

Well I got everything done I wanted to plus more. I was able to fix the seat on the 416. Bought that new seat and all the holes didn't line up and where it was mounted was too close to the wheel. Was able to dig outta my trash the rusted sliders/adjusters from old seat and got them working again. Then drilled some new holes, taped them and got it mounted. This tractor is much more comfortable when you can sit on it and your belly doesn't rub the wheel haha. Hopefully my PTO bearing comes this week and I can use this machine for the first time. I've got 1 more mow in my front yard before the end of the year and would like to try this on my 48" deck. Had a little photo shoot since all 3 were out of the shed. You can bring 3 horses to water but you can't make them drink!. 416 walk around and cruise around my property

Today I finally got to wrench on one of my two tractors for the first time since purchase. The PO had installed a standard SPST toggle switch to the LOAD side of the starter solenoid to bypass it, so I suspected it bad. Turns out it tested ok. So I pulled the ignition switch and found the connections really corroded, especially the power blade which obviously has gotten hot before. So it tested ok after cleaning, and I reinstalled it. (it really needs to be replaced) Cleaned up everything, installed a new battery hoping for magic... and ... nothing. Looking around, I found the main fuse blown. I put a new fuse in it, and I got SOME magic! All the lights work on the dash, they test, but the start solenoid still didn't engage. Figuring I'd bypass it just to see if the motor fired off, I pulled the spark plug out to clean and check it .. when suddenly... THE STARTER ENGAGED AND BEGIN SPINNING THE MOTOR!!! Ignition switch is turned off. I freak out and grabbed the main fuse and pulled it... it stopped! The next hour was with a wiring diagram where I isolated a place behind the ignition switch where the red had melted into the tan wire. Long story short, it runs with a prime, but no fuel going to carb. Probably the pump. I'll keep you posted after I put on clean pants!!!

Good to hear another horse is on its way to coming back to life in Texas. Before you chunk the pump go through the fuel system piece by piece. Disconnect the hose from the carb and crank it to see if your getting fuel there? If not, disconnect the hose from the pump and see if your getting gas to pump. The hose or the fine mesh strainer in the bottom of the tank fuel shut off valve could be plugged. When you have fuel flow there reconnect to pump and disconnect pump outlet hose and see if you get fuel out of pump when you crank it. (My C81 had been sitting several years and the pump was gummed up with ethanol crystals. I disassembled, cleaned and reassembled it and it worked perfectly.

Been fitting some more parts, finding out what is missing or needs work. The bonnet (hood) hinges were really worn and loose some kind of top hat bearing had worn out in them so I made new brass bushes and washers. The hood swings beautifully up and down now. The rubber retaining straps are shot so I will need some new ones, but I cant find identical ones yet, may use toggle clips but are they too rigid? Also refitted the front bracket which carries the idler pulleys and holds the front end of the axle pivot shaft. Had to make a spacer plate as I put phosphor bronze bearings in the axle pivot and needed 1/4 inch more room.

those old planes are a real treat, going fishing in alaska , i flew from dillingham , to the togiak river range in a recently restored 1945 gruman widgeon flying boat , first river landing in dense brush , really got your attention ! the water flow was so fast , barely had to throttle it down, water came over windshield then , quickly flushed off as was designed to do , but scary to initially look at 10 inches of water on windshield. lake hood in anchorage is a float plane mecca , lots of ww2 craft still in use . if you are ever in seattle , make sure you visit the boeing mueseium , incredible, aircraft, tour guides are former fighter pilots, pete

I'm only able to get out on Saturdays from April 1st to Sept 30. So that's roughly 860 miles in 20 or 22 rides .

Got a chance to do a little more work. Went through the wiring harness and replaced all the questionable wires. Got out my meter and checked all my splices and while I was at it check all the switches to make sure they were good. Was able to get the fender in the blast cabinet and got it down to bare metal, primed, sanded to 500 grit and 3 coats of Regal Red Had to set it in place for now (never have enough room for everything) Would like to get the engine cleaned in the next couple of weeks but not too sure that's going to happen. Found out this morning that they are going to replace my shoulder on the 3rd of December and I need to get a few things done before then. Guess the upside is that the paint will have a good opportunity to dry!

I found these Two 16 Horse kohlers off of Facebook marketplace one of them is definitely a wheel horse motor the other one so I'm told might possibly be a gravely? Ended up paying 220 for them both . The wheel horse one he told me that it was board 30 over. And I'm thinking that I hope whoever did it knew what they were doing.

I have started rebuilding a 12 horse to put on Irv because the 14 was smoking too much now I like bugs but this is a bit more smoke than I like. The 12 horse is coming along good but I just picked up these two 16. Horse motors and pulled the head off of the wheel horse motor. Found out it was 20 over which is OK. Looks like the cylinder still has hatch marks on it . Im hoping !So now I have changed my directions and I'm going to set the 16 horse on lRV. @pullstart hey Kevin this could be the start of the Trojan Horse!!

I have never relied on a bandsaw to cut anything straight and in a situation like this, I have a lathe that could true up the ends. If we were closer, I'd have you bring the PVC or steel and get them cut and squared away in no time.

Read yesterday that the earliest recorded snowfall here in Oklahoma was on 10/25/1957. We beat that record yesterday. It started snowing around 1 in the afternoon and snowed most of the night, sure is pretty but I was out most of the night in the wrecker. Luckily no major accidents just a bunch of people sliding off the road and needing winched out

It's actually not as level as it looks. The stream is at the bottom and it gradually goes up on both sides. I only just bought the house in March but it will probably be forsale again this spring. So...you could own that beautiful 3.1 acres here in lovely VT

The short link is used with item #27 which is the later mower deck lift arm. You don't have that in 1964. The 1964 blade BD-4264 uses a 5118 lift link. The 1965 blade BD-4264A uses a 5331 lift link. I do not know the differences. Item #18 below is S-52-5 top hair pin - 3/32" x 1-7/8" Item #17 below is S-52-12 bottom hair pin - dimension unknown Perhaps the welded in pins need to be a different diameter? Something is different. When I made some links I used about 2" bolts with the threads cut off for pins. Only the head was welded to the bar on the back side like in the illustration below. Then discovered the link needed a 1/4" offset if the pins were to sit square in their respective holes of the lift and plow frame. Ended up welding the pins to the straight bar in opposite directions to get the offset needed. Having the pins square minimizes wear. The holes in the pins for the hair pins were countersunk. When welded to the flat bar the hairpin holes are perpendicular to the flat bar for easier installation unlike the illustration. When installing the lift you know where the hair pins holes are and the hair pins can be installed blindfolded. Garry

I hope so. I'm going to give it a more thorough look-over before I use it again, but I'm down to only mowing about once every other week, so it may be a bit.

changed front tires this past summer planned on getting a tire changer - but instead did it the old fashion way and it (surprisingly) went fairly quickly used motorcycle tire irons ; not the longest tire irons but sufficient force / leverage even to install 4 ply tires the tires were not too 'squashed' or deformed during storage or shipping - but still a challenge to get bead seated on wheel to allow inflation don't have a compressor (took the 704 but left compressor and air tools behind) - so I wrapped a motorcycle tie-down around circumference of the tire and this enabled the bead to seat just enough to allow inflation

Got my new front wheels and tie rib tyres sorted today. Made a start on the stub axles and got one cut and bored to fit the cut off original axle. Another one to do tomorrow but should be easier now I know the method required. I think it's going to look pretty good on those new wheels and tyres. Oh I did a bit of work on the new seat, modifying the mounting as the bolt hole centres were all wrong for the seat support. Mick

@Herder @JCM @Stepney and others.... I think I'd have to enter this into an ugly-as-all-get-out contest. Sure to win. The "cab" such as it is will be removed even before transportation. The pole on the front doesn't go with it. It'll be a good fixer upper for Trina to putter on come spring. We'll use as is til then.

Seat switch is bypassed, but all others check on the indicator lights so I think they are still active. The switch does need replacing for corrosion and wear, but it functions normal.
