Trailblazer 7 looks almost original except the gas tank. Runs good electric start works.

Are the bottoms of the clamp threaded for 3/8” too ? If so I’d say a beam clamp used to hang things from using 3/8” rod . Guess there’s different sizes too . We used 3/8” for hanging duct , gas lines , ect. off beams in commercial buildings. https://www.grainger.com/product/ANVIL-C-Clamp-Beam-Clamp-4HYF4 Just ( different types of beam clamps images ) and you may find something that you could use and didn’t even know it existed .

My daughters and I began a family project to put a pulling garden tractor together for next year! Hopefully it leads to some good daddy-daughter bonding, family memories and a nice tractor they can ride next season... Here we go! I scored a mid-80's Wheel Horse 312-8 tractor for FREE from the neighbor guy. It runs, but needs some TLC.

Next time try using a pump. Blowing them up by mouth is exhausting.

Been scratching my head for the past two hours trying to figure out how to get this trans up on my bench by myself. Then it dawned on me grab some two by material and here's what I came up with! A 12 footer! It was on my bench in less than 30 seconds. Problem solved .

Put air in my tires today. Only 3 of them needed air. Wore me out. Dang! These thing are HIGH MAINTENANCE!!!

Saved! Shes a keeper. Engine needed a muffler ,a fuel pump (as the one on it was missing the arm and spring) and a set of points. But that’s it. Runs very well. The tractor needed new belts and a bath. My son found a steel tractor seat at the junkyard so now we can put her to work without damaging the deluxe seat.

My honey and I had a great day of yard puttering and organizing. She spent a lot of today disassembling, sanding, and repainting the wood stove that we will be putting upstairs. I'll post a couple pics of that in another section. I did a bunch of organizing. Cleared out a spot in the forest next to the parts and project tractors for some pallets so I can lay my parts assortment out in a much more organized and protected manner. I still have a few things to put out there but for the most part everything is in its place and just waiting to be covered. I also took a little while and messed around with the idler pulley on the Cinnamon Horse. I tried installing a cast-iron idler and I wasn't super pleased with the way the belt set on it. It was high in the groove... so I took it back off. I managed to remove the dust seal from the bearing in the existing idler and I sprayed it out with brake clean and then put dry lube in there. Ordered a new part but this one should be okay for a little while more.

A funny story about the first late fall/early winter after my girl friend moved in with me. She came home from work & I was setting up a ramp on the front steps. "What are you doing??" she asked. "I'm bring my Harley inside for the winter, just like I do every year" was my reply. "If that bike comes in the house, I'm moving out!!" was her reply. I said "Well, I'm gonna miss you. Now get out of the way" My bike spent every winter inside the house until I sold it about 8 or 9 years later. Oh yeah! My girl friend stayed & even married me, been together 27 yrs. Moral of the story? Heck I dunno, but it worked out well for me. No more bikes in the house for me, (For now ) The only display tractors that my wife allows in the house (so far) is part of my collection of 1/64th scale Case & IH tractors. Here is part of that collection. I started collecting these about '82 or so & have tried to keep up with the new Ertl releases every year since then, plus collected some of the older ones. I also have some made by other companies as well. I have 4 large totes full of tractors that are still in the package yet that I just don't have a place to display.

Should be threaded making it a vertical load beam clamp. They are extremely use full for other than the intended applications. I have used them on a deck adjuster that kept slipping out of adjustment to clamp it solid and similar stuff.

No packing. Just perforated pipe and 6 changes of direction if I’m counting correctly. They start getting loud when they leak anywhere. Any rust though at the top seam gets real loud.

Thanks for all the great ideas - haven't had much time to work on this tractor but I did get the new head gasket on . Got the engine running and it shut off, turned the key nothing not even the starter. .....ended up chasing wires with the multi meter . Found the problem at the 15 and 5 amp fuse holders and inline connectors - 35 years of dirt and corrosion - was already planning on replacing, had new holders ....wasn't expecting it to throw me into a wire chasing party . ....went with these sealed holders and shrink tube sealed connectors few other connections upgraded . Also new points , plug , condenser plug wire cleaned carb on the engine . Ran like a champ after wiring work .

Been smelling gas in the garage for a week. Didn't see any stains on the concrete or puddles. This morning I opened the overhead door and could smell it from 100 ft. away. Found the leak in the C-160 gas tank. Thought it was a bad grommet but turned into a seam leak. I still had a tank off of a parts tractor in my basement. Been there for about 8 yrs.

if you saved it.....so what is too much,,?? they rarley live again,,,,,,other than a seat.....your lookin pretty good,,,,, once its running...doing to much or to little is your decision ,,,,but getting seat time is the reward.... good job,!!!!!!!!!

I bought this 702 that I call "the closest living relative" a while back and put in in the basement next to the washer and dryer. Got tired of going to the other garage for parts to fix my wife's Dad's 702 we were using all year long. Just like AMC, there has been a laundry basket on the hood from time to time. Bill

The old owner stopped by to visit “old red” as she used to call it. She took it for a ride down the road and had a blast ! 😁 We sent her dad a video of her wheelie and now he wants it back.😲😲 This was her grandfathers tractor and after his passing her dad gave it to her. She mowed with it for awhile. She got a new mower and offer it to me. It was a rusty hulk back then, about 15 yrs ago.

Welded up the rim for the dual on the 1054. Need to get longer bolts for mounting it. Then get the tire mounted.

A common scene in our spare bed room every winter. My tractor will spend at least a week in the house while I let the paint cure a little before assembly.

I picked up a donor 520-H ('90) last Sunday and swapped the Onan and forward swept steering into my 520-H ('89). Original motor burned a lot of oil. Donor engine runs great. There are slight variations in the the 2 installations so I had to swap the engine harness and oil pressure switch over as well. The deal was cheaper than repowering with something new like a Predator (and I wanted to keep an Onan in it) and it came with a plow, cultivators, and 60" deck. IMG_0041.mp4

Well I was lucky enough to find a place less than an hour from my house that had everything I needed. I put all new belts on it including the drive belt a new idler pulley and I had to free up the idler pulley arm slider because it was stuck pretty bad. I also patch the hole in the deck with some thick rubber that I had we’ll see how long it holds up.

Not a bad price considering they don't come up for sale very often. It's not very difficult to change the hydraulic pump depending on the location and the fittings used. Here's a link to a pump you can use. These are a recommended pump from PF Engineering for building your own loader and I use the same one for my backhoe. https://northernhydraulics.net/catalog/haldex-barnes/high-pressure-hydraulic-gear-pump-.517-ci-haldexconcentric-10567-1752.html It would be difficult to check the cylinders and lines for leaks without the pump working to supply fluid pressure but look for dents and damage on the cylinder walls and ask the seller lots of questions. Leaks would show around the fittings and or rods unless it's been cleaned off.

Why you little...... Just found out why no spark at the plug. Brand new set of points fitted and the contact facts were covered in protective varnish quick rub with Alox paper and off we go. Schoolboy error, it's been a long time since I did my apprenticeship and learned the basics lol.

This theory also helps to keep the rear end differential from unloading on one side or the other. The farther a part that your wheels are the easier it is for one side to slip on the diff. Even on my farm pulling tractor, I have the rear wheels set as close together as I can. Besides safety, which is most important. Another reason for keeping the front end down on the tractor. When the front of your tractor comes up your hitch height goes down, decreasing the up pull on the front of the sled. Pulling up on the front of the sled gives you an advantage, this is why there are maximum hitch height rules. I try to balance my tractor so that the front wheels just tickle the ground through most of the pull. Good weight transfer to the rear wheels, without giving up hitch height. Getting your hitch as close as rules will allow to the rear axle will also help keep your hitch height when the front end comes up.

Most likely not... These are low compression low HP engines... I used to work in one of the nation's top aftermarket car exhaust factories and packing was only used in performance or high end applications...

No worries Russ. As a professional CDL driver and having spent many hours in training with DOT and OSHA I assure you it's safe to use. I've even consulted with a commercial trailer and truck body builder. The tractors and trailer weigh a combined 1600 lbs or so. The cross ramps are rated at 1000 lbs. The heavier of the two is 575. The ramps are bolted to the trailer rails with 4 bolts each. DOT rules require 2 straps. Each tractor is held down with 4 straps. Each strap is WLL rated to hold more than the weight of a tractor. . Trina and I are both VERY safety conscious both by mindset and training.
