4 pointsOf all the old spark plugs I've seen over the years this is the first one using leather for the insulator. Later this afternoon will post a few pictures of a few more oddity's.

4 pointsGot a stick welder? Clamp a piece of scrap metal to the round bar. Put the ground clamp on the pedal. Crank it up and run a few beads on the scrap metal. The current running through the rust will heat it up and should blow the rust out. Garry

3 pointsMy nephew just got this 312-8 a few weeks ago, then found a dozer blade for it...great price on both... BUT... Just LOOK what he did to the 42" dozer blade....JUST LOOK... Call the Wheelhorse Police..... this is almost sacrilegious..

3 pointsI got my Wheelhorse in 2004 when I was 14 (I am 28 now), my Grandfather had a Lawnflite and ever since I really wanted a lawn tractor. I saved up doing chores and mowing lawns etc, and finally we went to a garden machinery place in our local town to see if there was any I could afford. Outside were a lot of customer machines, and I was instantly drawn to a Wheelhorse, as a fan of classic cars and machinery it just stuck out to me. The owner came out and started talking to me and my parents and said he had one just like it, but black indoors. We had a look and I still remember seeing it for the first time, love at first sight I suppose I think my Dad said "wow, that's like the Dodge Charger of lawnmowers!" haha. I paid £300 (I live in England) for it, it was the first vehicle of any sort I bought myself. Had it ever since Here is a picture of it the day I got it, and now: Aside from the fact these machines are so tough, easy to work on, and just really cool, it is a machine I grew up with as did my friends, and I could never get rid of it I hope one day I can pass it down to my children. I only have the one Horse, I don't have space for any more at the moment but really enjoy reading about other people's machines and also of course, Wheelhorse fans seem to be the nicest people around

3 pointsyou know what would look great with my classic wheelhouse tractor? ... an avocado green dozer blade !!! said nobody ever.
-
3 pointsI think what you should do is sell one of the weights to me . There is no way to mount them both on one tractor.
-
3 pointsSince when does Ryobi sell sell dozer blades? LOL. Teach him right from wrong. He obviously doesn't know how to mask off anything! Just look at where the black meets the green.

2 pointsThats a great story and thanx for sharing with us ! Great looking machine and long live The Red Ones!

2 pointsPM Bob (very nice guy) .... he is the only source that I know of for these covers with the pressed pleats and logo as original . He had plates specifically made for pressing the pleats and logo . You never know until you ask ?
-
2 pointsThey made a factory bracket that mounted two of these, one right in front of the other so they were pinned in with one long bolt. I can't find the picture right now, but I'll check again later.
-
2 pointsNo regulator. Just a diode the rectify a 3 amp stator to charge the battery and a 2nd stator that powers the lights only with AC current. Garry

2 pointsThink I'd do a custom side by side mount...one facing left, one to the right. Probably take up the same amount of space as one in front of the other.

2 pointsWell....I bought another Wheel Horse today. It’s a C-145. I bought it for the engine. I was told it wasn’t all that nice so I didn’t feel bad taking parts from it but it turns out it’s in pretty good shape. Now I’m not sure I want to strip it for the parts I want.

2 pointsOur county fair started today and the elementary schools are busing students over to enjoy the big doings. I took a couple out as part of the tractor and engine club display, the little guys seemed to approve!

1 pointWith my Gt1600 in the garage getting new brakes it seemed like the perfect time to install the stud kit I bought off Bob @rmaynard a couple years back. Checked the hub set screws while I was in there. This is a dedicated plow machine so it gets worked hard. I decided to leave my inner and outer weights on (call me lazy), it’s still a chore to get em mounted but for sure it’s easier than using the old style lug bolts. She just needs an oil change and she’ll be ready for winter. Definitely not a “pretty tractor” but it’s so dang dependable, she earned a bath with soap and all

1 pointPut some quick connect eyelets for my new CTEK smart charger on the 246H and GT2500. Charging the GT2500 now, as it gets used less than the 246H.

1 pointDoing today finally minorworkings. Implementing a High Beam Controll light into Dashboard (last required for road approval) And Fixes the Roof with rubber Dampers. After doing that, i decide to have a longer ride (Testride) I drove into forrest to my Playground, and move my little Mountain i did last testride back to normal. 😂😎 The new roof is a massive improvement, no interference occurs as with the older (Jesus Cross Roof) It is completely silent i just hear the Engine. The FEL seems now completely bleeded. The reaction can now be steered very smoothly and the force is still impressive. Than i try to dig in depth, how good it works, i can diggin 18cm by 1 Shift with 4WD and differential lock. This beast seems to be unstoppable, i love it....👍 😎 after my Testdrive, i went back into Frontyard and check if any troubles occurs. Nothing to see, that can causes Troubles. Back into frontyard, i begin win my further planing of my Hedgecutter Project. Therefore i quickly attached a light Steel rect. Pipe i have in Stock, to see how it will look. i also rethinkin for a Quickmount, for a fast exchange. This is a look from Driverseat, how it will be looked at cutting Sidely a hedge. This pipe is much to weak, i didn‘t plan to use it. It was just for testing and measuring. So it will look if i cut Hedge Top. Simply fixed by 2 Screws seems a acceptable solution. The cutting tilt can be made with FEL also the lift. The setup horizontal or vertical will be made by hand, maybe later via FEL, but that‘s a nice to have for me. Thinkin to build another H Frame with that i was able to construct a quickchanger with a slider, where i be able to enlarge it sideways if needed.

1 pointlooked at the MF battery, not much to work with, shows 10 volts, and not enough juice to light a test light, even dim. liquid level is good. I figure there is a high resistance area internal. Not worth messing with for $29. I guess the moral of the story is when you suspect a battery is bad check the charging system.

1 pointBuild the First part of Testenvoirement so far. Curiouse if this will be work, if not i can simply added a adapterplate for the Oilmotor... This is the „0“ setting This is 180 degrees what means all in one a 8Cm sideshift. while difference between sickles are 5 cm i am able to cut in one side the fully depth on other side just half. i guess this can be an advantage, because the cutting will be differential, what reduces the complete workingforce to the Bracket. will give it a Try... it doesn‘t look bad at all, even the Weight is not too heavy.

1 pointThe only other thing you can do if your unable to weld a nut on it is to drill it out. Level off the broken end of you can with a grinder or file, center punch it and start small and keep increasing the drill size. Also my local hardware store sells left hand drill bits. If you get one of them near the end it may back out. Chase the threads with a tap. OR just thread pipe directly into the block and don’t use the flange mount.

1 pointOk, the color of Support and the Backside of the Plowshield looks forbidden, 😎 but the Shieldfront itself is more visible in Winter, if he plows the Driveway.. 😂 Maybe senseful, if you lost the hearing... 🤔

1 pointI considered removing the weights, but instead of using separate bolts for the inside and outside weights I just used real long bolts and bolted em all on as one. It’s a real pain to get it all lined up and bolted together. These rears haven’t been off in a few years so it’s not often I find myself having to do this. I did set up my sons new WH with inside weights held on with their own bolts.
-
1 pointHaha! Sorta...but after muckling the rears on with both inside and outside weights installed I was ready for a nap 😴

1 pointI think I'll take the cake for 'oldest running B&S' There are mowers for sale now that you don't even check the oil. No drain. No level rod. Just drop the bottle on top of it. Seen a few locally. I'm sure riding mowers are coming this way.. I replace rocker arms by the monthly on a Kohler 20 a neighbor has. Its a shame how flimsy they are now..

1 pointThanks for all the reply's and info. Nice looking tractor!!! Can't afford to redo mine, although it would be a great candidate. As I mentioned in my first post, I bought this from the original owners family. The seat is worn and the knobs for the throttle and choke are missing. The gas tank gauge works but the plastic lens is broken. The owners son delivered the tractor yesterday and I took engine degreaser and cleaned and power washed e the entire tractor. Other than the rust on the hood the overall condition of the tractor is good. Brake and clutch need adjustment but I think I know what is causing the problem. The space between the tranny and seat pan was packed solid with grass clippings. May not have been cleaned in years. I removed the seat and fender pan and the grass was packed so tight the shift lever couldn't moved freely. Today i will roll the tractor outside, remove the rear wheels and power wash the grass out. Then I should be able to check on the clutch and brakes. Here is a picture of the tractor as it was delivered yesterday. It has since been power washed and all the oil has been cleaned up. I'll post another picture later. Anyone know where I can find a seat?

1 pointWow you guys are on the ball man!! I didn't know how it's designed when I was asked about it. I agree, after viewing this it really can't effect it. We were discussing changing oils in our tractors today and the subject came up? Good to know how these operate, all you folks here are so much appreciated. Big Thanks!
