4 pointsOf all the old spark plugs I've seen over the years this is the first one using leather for the insulator. Later this afternoon will post a few pictures of a few more oddity's.

4 pointsGot a stick welder? Clamp a piece of scrap metal to the round bar. Put the ground clamp on the pedal. Crank it up and run a few beads on the scrap metal. The current running through the rust will heat it up and should blow the rust out. Garry

3 pointsMy nephew just got this 312-8 a few weeks ago, then found a dozer blade for it...great price on both... BUT... Just LOOK what he did to the 42" dozer blade....JUST LOOK... Call the Wheelhorse Police..... this is almost sacrilegious..

3 pointsI got my Wheelhorse in 2004 when I was 14 (I am 28 now), my Grandfather had a Lawnflite and ever since I really wanted a lawn tractor. I saved up doing chores and mowing lawns etc, and finally we went to a garden machinery place in our local town to see if there was any I could afford. Outside were a lot of customer machines, and I was instantly drawn to a Wheelhorse, as a fan of classic cars and machinery it just stuck out to me. The owner came out and started talking to me and my parents and said he had one just like it, but black indoors. We had a look and I still remember seeing it for the first time, love at first sight I suppose I think my Dad said "wow, that's like the Dodge Charger of lawnmowers!" haha. I paid £300 (I live in England) for it, it was the first vehicle of any sort I bought myself. Had it ever since Here is a picture of it the day I got it, and now: Aside from the fact these machines are so tough, easy to work on, and just really cool, it is a machine I grew up with as did my friends, and I could never get rid of it I hope one day I can pass it down to my children. I only have the one Horse, I don't have space for any more at the moment but really enjoy reading about other people's machines and also of course, Wheelhorse fans seem to be the nicest people around

3 pointsyou know what would look great with my classic wheelhouse tractor? ... an avocado green dozer blade !!! said nobody ever.
-
3 pointsI think what you should do is sell one of the weights to me . There is no way to mount them both on one tractor.
-
3 pointsSince when does Ryobi sell sell dozer blades? LOL. Teach him right from wrong. He obviously doesn't know how to mask off anything! Just look at where the black meets the green.
-
2 pointsThats a great story and thanx for sharing with us ! Great looking machine and long live The Red Ones!

2 pointsPM Bob (very nice guy) .... he is the only source that I know of for these covers with the pressed pleats and logo as original . He had plates specifically made for pressing the pleats and logo . You never know until you ask ?
-
2 pointsThey made a factory bracket that mounted two of these, one right in front of the other so they were pinned in with one long bolt. I can't find the picture right now, but I'll check again later.
-
2 pointsNo regulator. Just a diode the rectify a 3 amp stator to charge the battery and a 2nd stator that powers the lights only with AC current. Garry

2 pointsThink I'd do a custom side by side mount...one facing left, one to the right. Probably take up the same amount of space as one in front of the other.

2 pointsWell....I bought another Wheel Horse today. It’s a C-145. I bought it for the engine. I was told it wasn’t all that nice so I didn’t feel bad taking parts from it but it turns out it’s in pretty good shape. Now I’m not sure I want to strip it for the parts I want.

1 pointNice, Ctek is a good charger for Winterbreaks. I previousely used it also but changed my Charging station, put a Solar Panel 250W on Shed, build a 12V Solarregulator in shed with a 120AH Gel batts reused the second charging ability (Starterbatt Charging output) on a 12 V Socket to attach all my external Needs. Motorcycle, Wheelhorse doesn‘t need because often in use, or Scooter.
-
1 pointPut some quick connect eyelets for my new CTEK smart charger on the 246H and GT2500. Charging the GT2500 now, as it gets used less than the 246H.

1 pointWell here's how my project is coming along. I took an old snow plow frame and modified it to go on the tractor backwards. Then I put the leaf vac on top of it and fastened it down . I got some semi rigid flex duct from Lowes that I'm going to try. Still need to modify attachment to hook to the mower deck
-
1 pointYou did that all by yourself while Trina was painting the house?
-
1 pointThat's awesome Eric!! You get to haul both tractors and room for all your stuff below! Randy

1 pointOK, decision made on drive pulley...No go on the centrifugal clutch for this one. (I am keeping it as a future option for another build...). Going to try and position the shaft as close as possible to the original power plant so I can use the same belt size...We shall see. No "progress" today except in the area of draining my wallet...Ordered from A to Z Tractors (Nice to deal with): belt guard right side foot plate shift cover steering wheel seat drive belt Have also decided against too many crazy mods. Gonna just go with repower and fix up everything with no paint - kind of that "ridden hard, put away wet" look... Fiberglass repairs underneath the rear fender pan will be the plan, along with sheet metal reinforcements where needed. That fat rear end is growing on me...No dually for now either, thinking of using those extra tires for my next trailer build (stay tuned)... Pics to follow when parts arrive and I figure out where they go...

1 pointDo an interesting test. 🤔 i dipped the oilpump with sucktion side into an oil reservoir. As i found it just workin in one direction. 🧐 If i rotate the pulley clockwise it sucks the oil from Pressureside back to reservoir. if i rotate the pulley counterclockwise, it supports oil to pressure side. Guess that means it could work, also if Vane are stressed i hope a short term run, doesn‘t kill it immediately. i don‘t know how far the wear of the pump itself is, but if the pump fails, this is no big damage because ist useless for the moment and i payed trash price for. (Just 5$) 😎

1 pointUpdate: Took carb off and took it apart. First thing I found was a missing screw on the throttle side butterfly. Replaced that with a spare laptop screw that fit it perfectly. Second thing I found was the main needle was flaking off it's "paint". Scrubbed all that off, put it back together and it runs a lot better. It occasionally "misses" but nothing impactful. Float was fine. Submerged for a while, no water in it. Did not sink at all.

1 pointI considered removing the weights, but instead of using separate bolts for the inside and outside weights I just used real long bolts and bolted em all on as one. It’s a real pain to get it all lined up and bolted together. These rears haven’t been off in a few years so it’s not often I find myself having to do this. I did set up my sons new WH with inside weights held on with their own bolts.
-
1 pointHaha! Sorta...but after muckling the rears on with both inside and outside weights installed I was ready for a nap 😴
-
1 pointIt's an old photo. But here she is. It's been in storage and occasionally used at a friend's place, but a bit of a trip from here. Burns 2 was repowered with a Hercules engine.

1 pointI think I'll take the cake for 'oldest running B&S' There are mowers for sale now that you don't even check the oil. No drain. No level rod. Just drop the bottle on top of it. Seen a few locally. I'm sure riding mowers are coming this way.. I replace rocker arms by the monthly on a Kohler 20 a neighbor has. Its a shame how flimsy they are now..

1 pointThe two different lengths got me interested. Wen and measured my BDR-385...It is 39 inches long. I have a spare wear edge it is also 39" long. The wera edge part numbers are the same for the BDR 385 and the 6-3151. The mounting units are completely different. The BDR-385 parts list doesn't mention length at all. However my L-107 manual does call the BDR-385 a 38" blade.
