What the heck kinda WH do-dad is this?? Used my Work Horse yesterday and noticed reduced braking. Finished up the landscape project, got it home, washed it off and found the brake lining had separated from the brake band. It was in crummy shape so re-adhering it was not an option. Just so happens that while at the 2017 or 2018 WH show I bought a new brake lining off our very own beloved Bob Maynard @rmaynard ...didn’t need one at the time but I like supporting our RS members when I can. Well today that purchase is paying off! Followed Bobs instructions, went with the Goop brand adhesive, warmed up the brake band with a hairdryer to increase flexibility and clothespins to hold it while it sets up.

About 50-75 miles more to the west and it would have been very bad. God truly blessed us on this one.

This GT-14 jumped on my trailer at an auction today! The auctioneer said it runs but has problems with the hydro. I now have four GT-14 horses in addition to my others I may build a custom GT-14 someday The air compressor was only $17

That is pump rod set up for an oil well. The multiple notches are to adjust stoke length. The item hanging by the tree trunk would be run to the the pump by the attachment of a long rod.I saw this setup where multiple wells were pumped by a number of these things.

Tomorrow I leave for a two week missions trip to Kiev, Ukraine and do this afternoon I’m doing some stuff with the kids. We got rid of a bunch of the nasty apples and used the 1054 to haul the cleanup trailer... Works great and looks vintage doing it. We will call this tractor...”Rusty”!

did one on the tractor, set it in place and set the brake. left it over night to cure, (used JB weld) my wife would not give up any cloths pins!

So my Gt1600 plow machine was needed for a project at my sons house today. If you saw my post yesterday about mouse damage...well my electrical tape repair worked without issue! The previous owner was dumping all their yard waste and who knows what else right in the middle of the yard up against a nice stone retaining wall. It was a major eyesore! Used the plow to bust up the pile, move it closer to my trailer to load it and eventually haul it to the dump. Then graded it all and finished up with grass seed and hay. Huge improvement!

Found one lone Wheel Horse at this car show. Was tied in the back of an old Jeep truck.

Picked this up yesterday... saved from crusher. Runs good, no smoke or noises. Rearend clicks... and check out lift arm. Decided to take for a ride, decided to check fluids---oil full and looks decent, transaxle barely touching dipstick. Put in qt of cheap 80/90. Went for ride and notice shes leaving a "blood trail". Awwww crap... no left axle bearings. Looks like Mag 10 is gonna repower my B100 with the broken governor or my GT1100 with a spent Briggs. I know which one @sparky would would want it in! Tony

Out with the 10 and in with an 18 twin. I call it my 310+8. I experimented with cutting tires too. I think the turned out well for the first time. It's going to be my transfer sled puller.

Those casing nuts are a special thread and they may also come in left and right-hand threads because the cables are wound left and right. B&S used them in the mid-50's. Remove the clip and stick it on a wood dowel. Use a hammer and flat cold chisel to add ridges to the clip. Garry

Ill take some more pics next Saturday . Here's on from one of the most complete operations we've found . It's in a different location and I'm pretty sure I posted this one before ...maybe not

Yep! I’m in charge here , and she knows it! By the way, I was able to get the hairdryer back in the bathroom vanity on the 2nd shelf just to the right of the curling iron with the blower discharge facing left with the cord wrapped around the handle counter clockwise before she got home!!

We got Goop and tractors in hair salons, hair dryers in the shop. Guys using sinks and ovens ( other threads) for engine rebuilding. It’s been nice knowing you all!

Installed new fuel line, fuel filter and a new air filter. Also installed the new solid engine mounts from Zach Kerber. What a difference!! There’s actually less vibes now. I had 2 bad rubber isolators and the engine shook all over. Not anymore! i also made a stack from a cheap TSC muffler but it’s way to loud for yard work. My stocker rotted out and was melting my air filter. I may try one of jimkemps when he gets a few more made. I wish I could really get it quiet.

I spotted this lever type thingy in the area I ride the ATV in . The area has a long history of logging and oil drilling from the late 1800's to mid 1900's . Anyone have a clue ? I sure don't . It had a triangulated piece of heavy steel attached to the back of it ( or maybe the front ? ) from the left side of the pic and it was anchored into the ground very firmly .

I didn't take a whole lot, but here's a few other things I thought were cool. I did find a nice looking Cub Cadet 129 there in the flea market, but I thought their price was high.

Hi Eric, it seems to me a bit, you doubt on your own knowledge and ability’s. you be on the best Way to build a unique. Don‘t set yourself a to strong timeline, just do it for Fun. Just begin your Project, the knowledge you have will improve along with the things you‘re build. Help and guidance is here enough in the Forum available. Things you‘re fighting with, will lost their fear, if you have solved them or made it. If they last, you did it right, if the fail, don’t hesitate just rework it, that simple. Nobody has fallen as a Professional out of sky and we all improve our knowledge, day by day. 👍 To build a own Vehicle is a task, wich many do not dare. Do things, don‘t hesitate to do it, mostly the make is easier than it appears. I‘m looking forward to see your first Solutions. Construct a own Vehicle is not like baking a cake, it‘s a learning curve, youself can decide how strong it is. And if you solved it, you will be proud of your Work. Construction was mostly a mixture between copy of things they available and rework with own ideas. A fail was not realy a blame, especial you do it first time in this complexity. About Welding, if you be able, ask an professional for show you some tips. Don’t hesitate, they will help you mostly, to get quickly better results. importanst thing is, the Seams will last, second they lookin good. Welding is basically just a thing of Training, each more you trainee, each nicer will be your seams. Sent some positive Energy to you Colossus Project, you made it, i‘m sure about.

I'd LOVE to build a larger frame but it's just not in the cards right now. It would be preferable for sure but I don't have the skills to do it...yet. I'll be learning to use my welder over the next few months and parts of this project may see me use it. (Front axle widening.) The way it's falling in place so far it'll all be a bolt-together. I'm not doing that intentionally though. There will absolutely be a reinforcement made to the frame/transmission mount area. Not being familiar with the larger tractors I didn't know they were wider. That's good info. Thanks. One of the counterweight options I'm considering is to put the battery on the right side with a very heavily built box/base. I'm going to use a car battery anyway so that would move that ballast from center/front to right side, still keeping most of the weight to the forward end. I REALLY appreciate all the input folks. Please do keep it coming!! I've never tackled anything like this before and it's fascinating.

Fall harvest came early this year. The corporate farmer usually doesn't pick the corn until mid October. But, they were picking early this morning. Many farmers in the area have switched from corn and soybean to hemp farming. This may have an affect in the corn prices and harvest times. I spent the morning clearing some trails. Hung a couple tree stands. Cleared out my favorite ground blind. My Amish neighbor was busy picking pumpkins. Time to head home for lunch.

One of those harbor freight vibrating saws you'd use to cut trim boards. It cut like a hot knife through butter. It took me about 45 minutes to do both tires.

Well I did get the tractor home and had a great trip up to maine. Thanks again to @ebinmaine and his better half for the hospitality. It was great meeting and hanging out with you guys. I will start a thread on the rebuild and the ideas I have for this machine. I think this should be a fun build.

That is a beauty Jeff...thanks for sharing. That car sounds wicked cool both ways It reminds me of the 1970 GTO which had cut outs as a factory option and this really cool commercial... After watching it once and soaking in the classic late 60’s vibe and thinking about the fact that cut outs could actually be a factory option, watch it again to see all the cool muscle cars around the drive in. Lots of chevys and I think I see a GTX convertible towards the end.

They use "GOOP" at her salon! ! ! ! I have used "Loctite Power Grab Ultimate" with good results. I bolt the cleaned brake backing into place on the , apply the Loctite to the lining and slip it into the backing then connect the brake rod, set the parking brake and adjust the rod. Doing this assures equal pressure on the lining and once it sets you are done.

Correct, also used to drill holes through joists close up to the sub-floor or any other similar situation. Pretty handy thing to have.I still use one today. There are a few variations of them. Some are shorter to fit between 16" 0n center studs or joists.

You are showing us a 30 Amp dryer receptacle. What is the amperage draw on the new Kiln you are going to hook up? If it is greater than 30 amps you will need to have new wires installed that will handle the load. Just replacing a device could cause a fire, we don't want that.

@bcgold Here is a site for reference on bit braces by Millers Falls. Yours is actually an interesting one. Manufacturer should be stamped in one of the round metal parts usually on the long straight part. Perhaps clean it a bit with steel wool, it should become visible. http://oldtoolheaven.com/brace/brace5.htm

Nice job on that one! If you both are looking for "QUIET" then a cub muffler turned to face up is the least noisy I've found. I have one of @jimkemp's mufflers on the Cinnamon Horse. The quality is Absolute Top Shelf! I have a cub muffler on the Patriot horse. It does have a bit deeper tone.
