13 pointsI have moved my business to a new location. I now have room to expand and offer more for my customers. My new address is 695 E Rehrersburg Road, Bethel PA 19507. At my new location I am going to have a store stocked with your wheel horse parts and part for most small engines. I will add some pictures when I get more of the moved finished.

9 pointsThis 953 that we have dubbed “Hot Wheels has quickly become a go to tractor for myself... and my kids especially! The increased visibility, the feeling of a big tractor, the hydraulics, who knows what really makes it so different from the rest. Now that the Magnum 12 roars to life so easy, it’s that more attractive to jump on and take a stroll or do some chores! Here are some pictures from this morning, checking my food plot after some sprinkler time and a few days of good soaker rain showers. I’ll try to keep this thread active as photo ops present themselves.

8 pointsSoon after we returned home, Hot Wheels received his first Pullstart mod. I removed the core from the Harley Davidson stack muffler to get a bit more tone out of him. There after, we headed to Portage for some more play time!

6 pointsHere is where Hot Wheels changed hands of the keeper, from Richard the builder to me.... well... Rylee for the most part!
-
6 pointsJust finished doing that, Eric. Plan B put into operation this morning. Decided to see if I could mount it on the mid mount grader. So a measure up and a bit of angle iron found. BINGO! And no alterations to the grader. I'll see if I can lay my hands on some plate at the farm. I'll maybe modify things and raise the disc up, to just below the grader blade. I'll see how it performs first. Used at an angle as shown, may push the sod outwards.

5 pointsI can assure you that an upside down blade will not cut well, actually in my case it was all three!

5 pointsToday, I checked on the progress of the food plot that Hot Wheels helped so much with.... along with the help of Big Junky and a borrowed Mule. I am happy to see new plant life, and hope that in a couple months I’ll be using Hot Wheels to haul in the fruit of my labor! Soon, I’ll likely be mounting the 42” SD deck from the previously Charger 12 currently known as Frank and keeping the deer trails mowed now and again. Maybe instead of Putt Putt being worked by the front sickle mower project, I’ll see if Hot Wheels wants to play with that mower too! It sure would help with the PTO issue I’m hung up on in my mind...

5 pointsand then you come to a guy like me,,,,,,, everyone agrees a little on the high side...….but...…..it appears to need nothing,,,,,,, for the 300.00 more that is a cheap investment for the nothing part...….. I would pay it,,and,,,,,when your serious and looking....nice comes with a price,,,,,and that's what we pay,,,,, for needing nothing...…... my point of view seems off to some,,,,, we all want a bigger better faster cheaper,,,,,,,,,,,you just need to know ,,,,,when......

4 pointsAfter some fun, and hiding in the weeds, I put him to work re-learning how to plow. A few little issues arose, and after a new fuel line system, a couple carb adjustments and some wiring work and a bath, we’re here to present day I believe.

4 pointsListen to the wise words that has been said: A blower on a tractor with manual lift is a heavy thing to handle. Not optimal ................ 12hp for a blower is to some OK, but to many others it is under powered. If you are looking at tractors in that price range, are willing to pony up, and it's for blowing, I would take a look at something with hydro lift, and with a bigger twin engine. Heck for 1300ish you are in the ballpark for a nice C175, 417, 418, 518, 520 etc. And should it be a single pot you want, there really is just one for that job IMO, and that's the 16 horse. Remember a hydro unit is super comfy to have, but it also eats a bit of HP, so better have enough. Just my and yeah i know I'm but really, there is such a thing as not really enough power. On the other hand, too much power really ain't an issue, now is it? again just my

4 pointsBefore you put new axle seals on check for worn axle bearings. Try to move the axles up an down. If you have more than a tiny bit of movement, it indicates the bearings are worn. If the bearings are worn, the new seals may not last very long
-
3 pointsI would suggest you not remove the 1533 bearings right away. Clean everything up with mineral spirits to get the old oil film off and some diluted vinegar to get the rust out. Rinse it well with water and then put a few drops of gear oil into the 1533s. If they turn freely you will have saved yourself around $ 150.00.

3 pointsWell, the search ended a little sooner than I thought. Ed Kennell messaged me about having a C160 that hed gotten recently. Turns out, he only lives about 50 miles from me. I drove down this afternoon, took a look at it, and its a nice tractor, and comes with a blower that looks like it probabaly was really never used. His price was fair too based on what I've learned here and what I've seen on craigslist and Facebook market place. Always nice to make connections with people online. I am sure as I own it I will be here to ask for advice on keeping it going.

3 pointsFirst test was done. Finally today the nearly last Parts arrived. So far, i‘m excited. After Work i went urgent home and started immediately the Welder. Quick buzzin the precutted Steel on the Quickchanger. Than i drill it complete with 16mm, and build 2 drilles Bolts for quick dismounting. Thinkerin about a hand lever to release as by the huge Quickchangers, but this few minutes i have to release the Bolts. Than i installed the both Tee‘s and do a bit Plumbing. For the securebolts i‘m using a bit stiffer Pipe as an defined weak point. I‘m doing this not to Overload or stress the Shovel too much while pulling, than i try the first bleed and refill Hydraulic Fluid. After that, i do some Seattime on my Wheelhorse, and mow the Lawn, and arround the House. While i‘m done i Fired up the Beast and drove to Mart’l, because i want to drive in the Forrest, to bleed the FEL Complete. Therefore i asking Mart‘l if i can play with the gravel in the Forrest, he allows me at my own risk. 😎🚜 But he forbid me to take foto‘s in or from this Areal, so i leaf the iPad at home, Sorry, no Pics available while Playing. Diggin several Times fully Shovels and it works better as i expected. Try a bigger Rock, the FEL was easily able to lift, no Stress can be heared from Hydraulic. First time it reacts a bit huckly, but after bleeding very smooth. After about one hour Playing, i clean the areal up as it was, and have another hour just Trip with the Beast. i like to see if FEL makes some noises or sounds, i didn‘t like to hear. Funny how far in that little Timeline can be driven. Passing few Valley‘s just by riding along the Forrestry Way. No Sounds occurs, the give me a bad Feeling. I absolutely enjoy the ride, the FEL was stiff enough, but gets later additionally Enforcement on the Lifterangles. i like to reinforce it, to last longer. After i‘m back, i try do dig in my Potatoefield. How the Fel will work in Earth. Not bad at all, i‘m satisfied with my Work. parking both beside, to show the dimensions.

3 pointsI knew "Hot Wheels" was going to a good home, thanks for confirming that!

3 pointsIt’s pretty nice, neighbors are virtually out of sight... but the special ones are always close enough to help in times of need! We’re just a few miles out of town, if there’s running around to do.

3 pointsYeah, listening to you guys, I think for now I may continue the search. I may yet circle back to this one if its still there down the line. I suspect it will be, as the price isnt stellar, even if its nice. It is a nice tractor, and man that blower is top notch. But 12 seems to be the bare minimum for snow blowing, and the consistent opinion is that a hydrostatic may be a better bet for snow blowing. Theres a '76 C160 Hydrostatic with a cart and blower an hour and change from me for 1200. I may take a ride up to see it at some point in the next few days. It isnt nearly as pretty, but if its mechanically sound, I can fix the not pretty part with a little paint and elbow grease. Or even buy the blower from the first guy. If I do actually go look at it, I'll make a similar post on it here. Thanks again guys.

3 pointsI've used the wood chisel as mentioned. Works well but you've got yours past that point. It sounds to me like it's hanging up on one of the shafts. Push the case halves back together and clean all the shafts well. Use emery paper to get rid of the burrs, rust etc.

2 pointsChances are the gears and case will all clean up well enough to be used. If some parts are needed please post your needs here, lots of us have extra parts we can share with you. Yes, you can beat the old bearings out with the right size sockets. To replace them you will want to use a hydraulic press to prevent damage to the new bearings.

2 pointsYes, i can everytime upgrade to a larger Bucket, because of fast changer. Simple 2 Bolts out and release Shovel by Hydraulics, lift new Bucket and set 2 Bolts in. I found a 1,20 m Bucket as Construction Kit in a good Pricerange, but now first a small Sicklebar or a bigger Hedgesaw is searched as upgrade. I didn‘t wanna Cut the Hedge by Hand anymore...😎

2 pointsHonestly, I own a house in North Carolina. Its got 1.3 acres, and back then I didn't really know much better so I bought a Troy Built, for probably more than I am going to pay for a Wheel Horse. I had to wrench on that thing, and it was brand new haha. I even ended up having to take it in for a recall. Thankfully I would argue tractors, as a whole, are less complicated than cars, even the old cars. They're for sure less complicated than a jet.

2 pointsI put everything in the drink on Monday evening. On Wednesday evening I took out the float, bowl, and elbow. I wire brushed them very very lightly by hand under lukewarm water and they all came out excellent including removing old blue paint. I'll do the same thing with the rest of the carburetor later today or sometime tomorrow I hope. It's cleaning up nicely and I'm hoping it will come out and run well.

2 pointsHappy Birthday Jeff! So glad to have met you at the BS last year... Caleb is thankful for the friendship and the weight bracket that you sold him for JackRabbit! Hope you get a chance to have some fun this weekend and maybe a little seat time too!

2 pointsHello. New to this site. Small Engine Supply Humble Tx Established in 1965, they sold and serviced Wheel Horse tractors for many years until it was sold off to Toro. Still in business today with other brands. Great service and very knowledgeable. Good memories.

2 pointsI started mine with a sharp, stiff putty knife. Danny
-
2 pointsI like it! Or put that blade out front and power it up like an edge trimmer. Adding it on to a snow plow frame will give it easy height adjustment. Just a little toned down from Ed's monster tiller but it'll cut an edge. I guess you could add on a guard if you're squeamish.
-
2 pointsI think it's a little high, but if it is as solid as it looks and runs good, I would offer 1000 that offer shouldn't offend him. If you can just jump on it and go that's worth something. I like a power lift snow blowing that blower is heavy, first time I used my c-125-8 to snow blow I got a bad case of tennis elbow. The twelve worked good, I used my 418-8 last year it definitely worked better and has an electrical lift. I have over spent on one or two of my tractors but I have been lucky they have been trouble free. One breakdown can cost more than 300 and your time. Good luck!
-
2 pointsThe ones I've done I very gently take a wood chisel that is maybe 1.5 in wide and tap it against the gasket all the way around the case. on the second revolution you can start to see things separating a bit. Be gentle. Be gentle. Be gentle. You'll get the feel for it.

2 pointsOne option you may want to consider is removing the existing tubing and having a piece of 2" ID mechanical tubing welded into your rims allowing the more commonly available 2" OD X 1" ID bearings to be used.

2 pointsReally getting to love the 1990 312-H and this deck. It is a mowing monster. Power to burn and beautiful cut. Should be done mowing the ridge in another 30 minutes. Taking a short break.
