14 pointsSo I walked into a local dealer by me and the owner mentioned to me he was thinking about selling a wheel horse and asked if I would be interested. He said he’s had it for the last 40 plus years and wanted to see it go to a good home. I made him an offer he said he could refuse and I now have another machine in the stable. More pictures to come and hoping to get to tinkering on it soon

12 pointsI picked up this old girl from @WHX24 at the portage show. Shes tired but has a great color. Thanks Jim! The weather has been unbearably hot and wet and life has been busy but tonight i did a little farrier work and put some new shoes on her i think shes shaping up nicely, Future plans will be a heart transplant, new saddle, along with a new hitch and cable, then i think she will be ready to make an appearance in WI at Jims Plow day. So @Coulter Caleb you better have that 854 ready to roll some dirt so we can show all those Big Block Kohlers what a small block can do! And thanks again Jim!

11 pointsHere is a picture of our adopted cat Spot using my main mowing tractor as a cat bed.He adopted us not the other way around. This 416-8 was a much neglected and abused machine. The tires were full of fix a flat, the tie rods were shot, the fan gear and steering shaft were worn out.The hood stand showed dents from where a chain was used to secure it on a landscape trailer. It has been used as a true garden tractor this season. It tilled the garden and dug the potato rows at planting.Next week it will dig the rows with a potato plow.It has over 1400 hrs and shows no signs of wanting to quit. The hood says 414 but the original hood was junk.

10 pointsHeading to the Delaware Bay tomorrow for two weeks of crabbing and fishing. The family out grew the 35' Shasta so I sold it last winter and rented a five bedroom beach house for two weeks.

10 pointsPicked this up last week knowing nothing about the Onan or the 520.There was a miss in the engine which I thought at first was a spark plug or a coil issue. After a few post here and some great advice from members I ran a compression test only to find the rear cylinder had 0 compression. Further inspection lead me to find a broken rod, which I never would have suspected because other than missing the engine made no odd noises. I was able to source another p220 with 800hrs, so after a couple nights swapping everything this 520h runs like a new machine once more. I have had many WH tractor over the years all of which were 8 speed tractors with the exception of one which was a C-195. The C-195 was a great tractor but I was never impressed with the hydro trans, it always wanted to speed up going down hill. After using this 520 for a couple days nows my opinion on the this hydro has changed. I have been really impressed with this machine and I think I will definitely keep it around for a long time. Thanks you everybody for the help.

5 pointsmy L-107 was my fathers. He never went for electric start and started it with the recoil into his 80s. We did replace the original H60 with an HH70 to get ACR to make it easier for him. Lazy me added electric start after he passed. Always had the recoil aimed back and he started it from the seat. But Techies start with 1-2 pulls. I still start it occasionally with the recoil from the seat.

5 pointsVery nice looking tractor! I’m digging that single/dual plow setup with the rear tires! How in the world did you get @WHX24 to turn loose of that one? We all know what a tight wad he is!
-
4 pointsTime to change that user name there @WHX24! Or have you already replaced them with even more?😂🤣😂

4 pointsKevin I should have everything you need give me a shout... I have been procrastinating (in denial) about selling things off . As far as Harbor Freight engines go the 79cc 3hp I had mocked up looked to be a direct bolt in .

4 pointsThanks guys for settling that. I am a fan of Predator engines, but I don’t feel like they should be in these two builds... if I can help it. I’ll be grinnin’ ear to ear the day that my girls rebuild their own engines and make their tractors fire off for the first time, next time, every time!

4 pointsA little filler work, and this radius will be ready for paint! I am going to sand the other filler rods before welding, that should have been done first.

3 pointsHere is the one I've been looking for to smoke for 2 years. An 8 lb Lake Trout caught Thursday July 25th, 2019. 154 feet of water with a green/blue spoon set down 65 feet on a down rigger. It is the only one we caught all day.

3 pointsAs long as it's not the other way around, 16 cats on 1 horse, THEN it would be a problem. Cory

3 pointsI believe it’s time to flip this thing. I made up these little rings to thread into the adjuster holes and assist with flipping.

3 pointsDid the best thing I think I could for my Horses today. I renewed my 2 year supporter membership:-) Finally had some room to breathe time wise. Relocating is a true PITA.

3 pointsThe steel was clean and oil free so with ample argon supply, there shouldn’t be pitting. That’s a sign of some contaminate. The only thing I didn’t do was prep and clean the rod, so I am hoping that’ll take any possible contaminate out of the equation.

2 pointsSo, we picked up two RJ-58’s at the Big Show. The one from Richard is much more complete.... but for the most part, I should be able to use one to pattern the other, and vice versa. The major issues with the second, is the lack of most of the “power drive mechanism” (transmission) components and the lack of an engine. Looking at sickle mower possibilities last night, I realized I have a Clinton A700 engine. Richard’s came with a K-91. Other than the difference in power ratings, base bolt pattern and exhaust location, they are very similar. I was thinking before that we’d rebuild the K-91 as a team then power one with a Predator mill... but I’m not so convinced that’s wise now. Would the 1-1/2 horse Clinton push an RJ and a kid?

2 pointsWell today im very proud and happy to say my daughter cut her hair today and donated it for a wig to be made Here she is seems like she grew up overnight im so Proud! She turns 6 in September.

2 pointsI assume you stay on the NJ side. We stay on the Delaware side. Mrs K likes to ride the ferry to Cape May to gamble away her money while I'm out in the boat catching her dinner.

2 pointsThe chevette was sold under the Vauxhall badge over here. The trouble these days, you don't know who makes what. The days of seeing a car go past and saying that's a so and so are long gone. You could tell by the body style and radiator grill. Now they all look much the same. "It was a Ford, Honda, VW, Rover, Ozzifer."

2 pointsWhere to begin, hum started after Work the Welder and prewelded the both Liftarms. Because i still miss the Lasered Parts, i decided to keep them in full lenght. Than i do a quickmount, to see if i reach my Goal of, 2,30m. Make a long story short, yes, i will reach 2,38 liftheight max. On the Anglepoint. Than i try once outside once inside the Mountingpoints, for now it‘s to hot outside to work. While tomorrow Weatherforecast tells something below 36*C i decided to wait. completeley Wet i try to find a good position for the Steeringvalveblock. Think i found a good position, even i won some space. The valveblock can fully supported by the Front, so i just have to change 2 Connectors and i‘m done. a decent question at the Lasershop how long it maybe will takes after several Weeks ends up in an harsh „where not Witches...“ and he hangup the Phone, that was my second Carefully ask... i was a bit shocked about this. After that i think to myself if that shop is a Partner i want to deal with and thinkin to stop that contract. Anyway, Because i like to mount the Valveblock on the Left side, i think i found a real good place for. a lot of space, even to Clutchpedal, a quick in out is given. hope the Weather isn‘t too hot tomorrow, than i flex the Front blades down and weld them in the console to implement the Fork, than a few measurements and welding the base strut in.

2 pointsThat looks like a B model. There a few in the county but mostly Cubs and A models. Those old Farmalls are some of the smoothest running tractors ever made. Thanks for sharing.
-
2 pointsJust remember too that I need two engines... The tractors will be restored with as much work as possible done by my girls.... but that doesn’t mean they’ll be 100% original either. If the small amount of power from the Clinton would push it along, I’d rather keep that vintage rather than go to Harbor Freight.

2 pointsSKF 11050 is $3.55 from my bearing supply house and is a steel shell. Some of Toro's are plastic
-
2 pointsThis page should help you understand how they work. Click on the picture and again on the next page. Not all relays have the B terminal. These are wired internally so the base of the solenoid provides the ground when bolted to the chassis metal. Garry

2 points600hrs on the original machine. The reason the rod broke is a mystery to me. There was about a teaspoon of gas water mixture that came out when I took the head off, but the piston wasn’t stuck. The rod broke close to the crank and the bearing end came off the crank and is in the oil pan. I haven’t pulled the oil pan yet to investigate further.

2 pointsHey Buddy, you ain‘t time for such complex things, you have to finish your Customer Project, 😱 i will store the Sicklebar instead, to keep you free in Mind for your Project..😇 😂 No? Ok, you win, it was worth a try 😎 😂 I see the simpler solution with the db mower more easy to connect to the Horse PTO. Just a longer Belt and a Beltspanner shall do the trick. Maybe you must rework a bit the transmission on the db mower with a Spring loaded spanner, to keep the mower still running even landscape wasn‘t straight, but thats no big deal for you. the idea with the Snowblower mount sounded to a perfect basement. If you made it screwed, you also be able to use the bar further for a snowblower. 👍
-
2 pointsI didn’t think to use my snowblower pulley setup! I’m on it! Thanks Jim!

2 pointsI am not a neat person. I try, but it’s just the way I am I guess. But sometimes a little tidying goes a long way.

1 pointAfter i had today that inaceptable phone call, i cancel the Contract. I accept stress, but i don‘t accept unkindness in that Way. However, drove to the Office and ask if i could use the Machines, a Yes started my nightly Action. first i quick dismount the FEL Parts and put in my Car. Than i sorted my Materials and begin a hardcore cut, drill &Welding session. Yes i know, no Seams they worth a Price but they Last and i had just few Hours. Normally i hate it, do things in houding but no Time for any Breaks. I welded both inside and outside and i‘m far from a professional Welder. but for my purposes it lasts and it is good enough. a lot of Metal must be cutted, drilled, formed and Welded. i ended up with a nearly complete Final new FEL in Steel. just the Struts are still just Material but Precutted. Consoles are reworked and improved made of 5mm Steel All together was done in 4h + 1h for Cooling and completely Handcrafted. the Console differs a bit from the Plan but i must build a Solution, i can handle myself. I’m proud of the Result.

1 pointSounds like they both got a good home but your not going to get much work out of Spot. I have two cats and two dogs. When the Micky the cat is missing I go check the seats on the tractors and that's where he's found. If one of the tractors is tarped he goes underneath. (cat hose) Nice hard working 416 by the way.

1 pointMe too. Mine was a 79. I had three friends that had chevettes also. We tried quite hard to snot beat them into submission and none of us succeeded.
