Like most parents I am proud of my children and their accomplishments. My son graduated in the top 10 percent of his class with a chemical engineering degree from Va Tech. He went to work for Azdel Corporation as a production engineer. The parent company, Hanwha, is a multinational corporation with holdings servicing ,the petrochemical, financial and chemical sectors. Hanwha started an advertising campaign asking its employees to submit an essay about why they are proud to work for Hanwha. Hanwha proud was the theme. Out of the many submissions my son's was one of the five chosen.The prize was a poster of him and the other finalists to be displayed in New York's Times Square and a company paid trip to see it in person.This my son Andrew with his likeness on display. Shortly after he started to work for Azdel, he came home to visit. He spent a lot of time on the production floor then and interacted with the workers. He told me that he met an elderly woman who was a custodian and found she was walking miles home because she had no car. He started giving her a lift home. I told him that alone is one of my proudest moments as a parent.

I’m proud of this, a 1973 wheel horse 14 hp hydrostatic transmission, with a 42” RD. All I had to do to get this running is install new fuel lines, a fuel pump, battery and a spark plug. It runs sweet!!

New front tires,new seat,rebuilt hyd.pump & cylinder,new belts,wiring & fuel system repair,runs & drives great next will be WD40 & steel wool and it will be finished first show this weekend.

I recently pick up a set of old general 4.00-8 at a swap meet. Refinished the rims in a gloss almond. which in my mind is a modern shade of the old linen white. A little more beige than the linen. Anyway that was off topic. I had planned to put them on my c 160. I had a set of Goodyear ags in the barn that I had already painted. Just tinkering around today I decided to put them on my wife’s pediddle to surprise her. Needless to say I was surprised, I love the look. I like the Iook of the almond wheel much better than the silver. And the big ags and skinny fronts make it look like an actual tractor. Both the ags and the old turfs are 23-8.5-12 but the ags measured almost 2 inches taller overall. Only problem now is I have to find another set of skinny’s for the c 160

My main mowers C-120/180 and 520-H both with 48" side discharge decks. The 312-8 was used today it moves right along with the 25" rear tires. I used Forest Gump for clearing small brush and around fields. Then the 1958 22" Eddleman for triming and ditches and banks. I have 4 1/2 acres and mow a little over 2 acres. We also have 28 acre farm next door with a acre or so. My brother is taking care of it now. I will get the leafs up around Thanksgiving.

Just got done mowing my sister in-law’s place. She said it was really bad, so I brought “Jane”, my Plain Jane Commando 6 along in case I needed to do any sweeping. By the way... I miss having dogs, but I don’t miss all the poop!

Picked up this old horse from a farm down the road from me with a snow blower that's missing some parts and a heavy duty belly mower deck, not sure the make not wheel horse but adapted to fit, 3 point hitch came with cylinder but no hoses and bent lift arm but some heat and sweat should fix that, any help with the sizes on the hoses would be much appreciated, not sure about the year but it cost me half a six pack, oil change in the engine and hydro and drove her home about a quarter mile hydro seems strong but linkage is iffy works but not centering right, anyway just throwing this out there probably alot of questions to come but any thoughts on how to go forward?

Trina and I have held much council.. We have hemmed. We have hawed. We have considered. We have discussed. We have shot the breeze. We have also contemplated. We have decided that the answer to the above dilemma is..... Neither. It is a boat anchor.

I laid in my filler and anti-shrinkage rod, then welded my first seams this morning. I’ll end up hand belt sanding the piece to remove the excessive spatter and to dress the welds as smoothly as possible. Luckily after both welding passes, my angle checked out as un-moved!

Just getting some old iron prettied up for the big show coming nearby this weekend. Anyone heading to the Raitt Homestead engine/tractor show in Eliot, ME, this coming weekend?

Glad to see a couple of you using other brands ....I’m one of those guys as well. So probably 70% is done with my Craftsman with a 46” deck and a triple bagger setup and 30% is done with my WH C-105 with a 42SD. That’s my dad mowing my yard with the C-105 last year when I was laid up with a leg infection.

Mow with my '82 C-125 and 42"RD. The '79 C-81 fitted with '62 sickle gets some use as well.

Consider the alternative. You could be mowing with a Big Box Store piece of junk and have to go buy another one when it broke rather than a couple of trips to Ace!

Been taking my WH's work back from the old JD slow but sure. I use a WorkHorse GT '14'-48 'Twingle" lately, with the original 48" the tractor came with. Works great for the few properties I manage.

My mower is a 1965 and don't seem to have all of the fun adventures you have. BUT, the adventures always come when it's freezing cold out and removing snow. Especially when some idiot keeps throwing those stupid crappy advertisement newspapers in the driveway before snow storms so I can find that little hidden treasure with the blower.

If you used the mid tack-a-matic I would also put a pin with clip pin in the hole to secture it. I never had a problem with the tack-a-matic untill it got old but I lost the deck twice with in thirdy minuets one hot afternoon. I guess the spring is weak but I have just used the pin every since.

I thought you just pile them all up in the back of your truck!!

I've seen pictures of Wheel Horse weights, and these look very similar. However, it looks like these have a cut-out for a valve-stem, and 2 holes for wheel bolts instead of 4. Are there different variations of WH Weights? Thanks!

The ordered Steel Pipe is here, just do a fast cut today after Work, maybe tomorrow after work drilling than Welding on Weekend. Still missing the Hydraulic tubes, fittings and the Lasered Steelplates for the hydraulic mounts. Things go slow, but steady.

Hey Kev, how about a sicklebar frontmower on the Horse, so you don‘t spray the Poo, just sickle it... 😂 I use just my 212 „Allround Workhorse“ with an attached 36“ mowerdeck and an Sweeper behind. That does all in one.

Old cardboard, poster type material...full of mold, priced like they were trying to retire on the sale of this stuff. But...it did Jason, have a large formatted image of that factory proposed C-171 unicorn.

I've tried every configuration except 60" SD. my favorite this year... I thought was going to be the 42" RD I got last fall. But having hooked up the 48" SD makes me think twice. Great cut and I can really fly when mowing! Only drawback is my tow behind sweeper doesnt work that well with it. Sooo... to answer the OP.... whatever one is mounted and has gas in the tractor! (Those big bores can be thirsty)

I have something I started on and will finish it after I get moved to my son’s house(temporary housing). I have a 5/8” rod and will weld 3/8” chain links to the ends. These will snap right into the tachamatic brackets. Hook your straps to the chain links and cinch it down. (Unless you have an attachment on your tractor)
