15 pointsSo I went down to Pennsylvania a few days ago and picked this 701 up. Pretty excited to get back to working on these tractors!

10 pointsJust happened to snap a couple pics of this interesting cool machine while driving home last night. Looks like a small dredge powered with paddle wheels.

9 pointsA guy stopped at my tent at Fawn Grove Olde Time Days a couple weeks ago and asked if I buy WH tractors. He lives about 10 mile from me and has 4 short frames to sell. I got the 875, 877, a nice 48" plow, and still negotiating on the 2 855s. The 877 has some wiring mods that need corrected. I should have this one running today. The 875 is all original and It runs perfect with no smoke. The hydro is strong and hydraulic lift works.

7 pointsNeighbor across the street sent me this story. My son has the same exact tractor, and would probably attempt the same if he thought of it 😂😂 https://www.wthr.com/article/toddler-gets-driving-privileges-revoked-after-driving-toy-tractor-county-fair

7 pointsUpdate: Got most of the parts reassembled, tractor has been rewired. Finished most of that late last night, so pictures will be coming after work today. Had to buy another set of rims for the rear tires because once I started wire wheeling the rust off the rims, they start leaking air, the metal was so thin and rusted. Might even break down and buy another set of tires depending on how well they come off the rims. They are original tires. Never did get the steering wheel off the shaft, but that's ok, it will work fine the way it is. I'll work on the fuel lines tonight and hopefully fire it up. Cranks over fine, just need the fuel to go. Decals will be the final touch!

6 pointsIt's to blinking hot to work out in the horse barn tonight, heat index is like 98 degrees. Supposed to be feel like 110 tomorrow, so might not get to much done tomorrow either. I did promise pictures though One of @Vinylguy 's decals Some more

5 pointsWe are hosting our local summer show this weekend in Abingdon, VA. Here are a few pics of a few of the entries. Check out the steel wheeled Huber - only about 10 are known to exist! The John Deere 110 was a surprise for Clay - my friend Joe’s son. He just got it yesterday and is on cloud 9! The last pic shows Emory and Clay with Emory’s new Cub Cadet. Tomorrow is our last day and I’m wiped out!!

5 pointsHi folks, I been on a quest lately to find a wheelhorse or two that I would actually use for mowing/work, instead of just putting around on. I mow about 1.5 acres and have been using a husqvarna with 36 inch deck. This past week I picked up two horses that I think will finally fit the bill. Last week I got the 312-8. And the other day, I found this c-81. It was owned for the last 25 years by the same family, hes a retired mechanic and took great care of it. When I arrived to pick it up, he was actually greasing the deck for me:). New paint, tires, battery, belts. He didn't refinish the deck, but maintained it very well. I only had one picture to go on, when i agreed to buy it, but was VERY impressed when I saw it in person. Runs like a kitten too!!!

5 pointsThe 854 I picked up at last years big show was run very little until recently. For months when I'd find a little time I would putter around with it getting things bolted together properly. It was missing so much hardware that I'm amazed it didn't end up in a pile of parts on the trip home. The engine had been cleaned up when I got it and I didn't notice much in the way of leaks until recently now that I'm running it and the bulk is from the breather area. I also couldn't get the carb tweaked to my liking so I decided to rebuild it since I'd have it off for access to the breather cover. Ya thunk this could be the problem? OK, carb rebuilt. No on to the breather. I cleaned things up. The PO had used the lovely blue silicone stuff. Fortunately it cleaned up good. I made new gaskets and ordered new breather filters. Note that Kohler now recommends using 2 filters in the K-181. Before I saw this I ordered 2 so I'd have a spare. So much for the spare now. They were delivered today. The clutch wasn't right. It was way too sloppy causing it to not engage properly. Enter a pair of 1/2" x 5/8" bushings a couple days ago. I had to grind off the old idler assembly but fortunately I had a spare from the two tractors that were given to me. Clutch is now smooth a silk and slop free. I need to finish the breather stuff and get the carb installed. I thought I'd do that this morning but after a few minutes out there I think I'll wait a couple days. It's HOTTTTT!

5 pointsHi Guys, Like a couple of other newbies, I really had a great time meeting so many like-minded folks at the show this past weekend, very passionate about Wheel Horse tractors and their history. I only wish I had more time to spend at the show to study tractors and jaw-jack! I've been collecting and showing tractors most of my life, but this was the very first time that I've shown Wheel Horses - and must say that I kinda liked it! I definitely caught the WH bug this past year... Hearing that the "Horse Barn" at the fair grounds will be dedicated for Wheel Horses going forward, I'm excited to see this show turn into an annual, Wisconsin WH gathering! Thanks, Rob

4 pointsMet some really good friends at the big show this year! We met up with our friends from Canada!! @WheelhorseWes and his wonderful family! Hubby wanted a 1961 551 and scored one! My birthday present to him.. It was a two tractor deal..so we made it a chance to see our new friends as Wes was interested in the 854. So we both have new horses for our stables!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 We went out to eat and visited!! It was a great time!!

4 pointsDude you know the rules....no pics means it didn’t happen and you ain’t there
-
4 pointsThought I would share this aerial view of the pioneer power show grounds, this was from the last day of the 41st annual swap meet held this weekend. April 27-29
-
4 pointsIt didn't Denny. Steve, you nailed it with the blue tarps. Fortunately they run with a good supply of 40' x 60' tarps. The rain was supposed to skirt north of us but I guess it didn't want to. They covered her up about 12:30 and the skies opened up. About 2:00 some strong winds tried to mess with the tarps but they held up. No water got in. They started back up about 3:30 and didn't roll out of here until about 10:00. They got it done and I think it looks good. No finished pics yet cuz it was dark.

4 pointsThe “crew” continues to make headway... Judge and Zach are removing nails from the old wood... @Coulter Caleb is installing the new hidden fastener Trex decking! What’s dad doing???? 🤔 Good question!

3 pointsThe Case 110hp is an awesome machine. If you look close at the video you will notice that the tractor does not have a steering wheel. The Case 110 was the very first tractor with power steering. Steering is accomplished with two levers that control steam to turn the steering spool for the chains attached to the front axle.

3 pointsIf the kid had been driving a Wheel Horse the cop probably would have given him a warning, asked about mods to his tractor, horse power, what color red he used on the restoration and if it had liquid in the tires or not... Just sayin’...
-
3 pointsI am gonna go through the whole machine mechanically and then put some new tires and freshly painted rims and a new square pan on it. I will keep the photos coming once I begin workin in it.
-
3 pointsThat's a funny story! I think my own son would have done exactly the same thing at that age under the same circumstances.
-
3 pointsThat’s awesome! If I had one of those, I’d change my name to Springstart!

3 pointsSo my part of the 854..... transmission is junk but I have a spare...it’s in the tractor already. Like Joe/Jennifer said I have it running already. The engine had just about an 1/8 of oil in it. Did an oil change cleaned the dust out of the carb. Put gas in it and it ran. No smoke no knocks it’s a score for just a good smooth running 8hp I have plans down the road to restore this one ...does anyone have a good/perfect 854 hood? And an 854 toolbox? My family and I got to tour the Holland Michigan windmill tulip place before we picked up this Wheelhorse which was pretty neat. Got to hangout with joe n Jennifer and family which we could have spent hours talking about Wheelhorse tractors. Love that we have new friends

3 pointsLucky you! I’ve been to countless shows and not once has someone come up and asked me if I buy Wheel Horses . I would have been all over that 4 horse deal! And again I’m loaded up and will be at a show this weekend with a couple of mine in tow.....hoping someone with a neglected horse (or four!) stops by looking to unload it.
-
3 pointsI thought that for a few minutes too. Looks like the paddles are relocated for transport to keep the machine under the DOT road width. Look at the side of the boat and you'll see a mounting/drive hole on the side.

3 pointsMy son says they use wax on all thier blades and bits where he works. Started using it on my stuff too. I just got an old car paste wax and dip it. Seems to work good.
-
3 pointsThe stories your telling, we do enjoy. About the time you were a boy. So come on lad, now don't you stop. Tell more of what happened, at that tractor shop.
-
3 pointsHey Eric! Travel safely, bud. By the way, if you ever invite me over for a picnic lunch I like Limburger and braunschweiger on rye with a side of pickled red cabbage and a tall, icy cold, Miller High Life. Just in case you're asking..... Cheers! Dave

2 pointsTrina and I are headed north in the morning to stay at the campground this weekend for the Owl's Head Transportation Museum annual truck and tractor show weekend. @JCM Jim you have my number. FYI.. we'll be having a picnic lunch and we'd be happy to have you and your wife share. If anyone else is planning to attend we'd love to see you. Feel free to PM me. Cinnamon is loaded on the trailer and Pony will be in the morning. Pics to follow......

2 pointsI recently picked this case up from a neighbor, says it has a knock. Anyone familiar with these old Case 220, has the 10 horse Kohler. Thanks in advance.
-
2 pointsThe weather forecast for today is hitting the highest since 2013 and oppressive humidity rivaling the central Florida weather. I would have been fine if they postponed it but we were on the schedule. Fortunately the clouds have kept the temps down a bit but the threat of rain has them keeping their guard up.

2 pointsHave fun! We’re camping at the lake, watching our 1 year old niece. A/C and beach time!

2 pointsNever worked at Magic Kingdom. I did work about a year at the Studios. I was at Indiana Jones Stunt Theatre. Knew that show by heart simply by where it was with the music/sound effects. Never got old either.
-
2 pointsI get this one stuck in my head a lot. As o was standing here folding laundry I realized I was vocalizing it 😂😂
-
2 pointsCan’t leave us hanging like that Dell!!!Now I’m sitting here trying to guess what it is...way too many options out there to venture a guess. You could have fun with this by starting an other brands thread and give hints so that we could try to figure out what he got. Stay safe and hydrated this weekend! jennifer—nice score on the tractor for the hubby and also getting the opportunity to spend time with friends. Looks like it was a Win-Win. Please start a restore/refurbish thread when you guys get to fixing up the little 551. I would definitely follow along...

2 pointsMoved a couple horses to the off site storage. Then picked these two up on the way home. Bob Maynard is right, this downsizing isn't working.
-
2 pointswith that much history and experience behind you that tractor should be easy to get up and running. Glad you found the site. of course you understand that the rest of us five-year-olds are going to need pictures of your herd of horses.
-
2 pointsMade it! To prevent so much shrinkage when I fill the gap, I’ll find some threaded rod or the like to wedge into the open space. It’ll save a ton of welding too.
-
2 pointsTesting the ability to cold form the bends. So far I’m at 49 degrees on a 2” piece. The biggest bend is close to 85 degrees, so I’ve got a little further to go!
-
2 pointsHere is a video of a 2” cut. I realize I should probably have more PPE and also noticed that I seem to chew when I’m thinking! There’s not much in that noggin, especially in my mouth! Also, I’m testing my depth to make my bend points. I cannot believe how clean this cuts, I could probably get into the key cutting business with it!
