My wife had a birthday recently and she has been looking at metal roosters to put up next to the outhouse for several years but has had the good judgement to not pay several hundred dollars for one. A few weeks ago I started working on one for her with a frame of #8 galvanized steel wire and skinned with copper (sort of like the statue of liberty). Before I took off for the Big Show the finishing touches were put on it and I spritzed it with salt water to get some patina going. If I must say so I think it came out well. So, if you cant decide what to get someone you may want to build them a copper roster!

Trying to find the words to express my gratitude for one of the most thoughtful gestures I have ever experienced. Have not been this surprised since the day I discovered my high school diploma was actually signed. Was working at our booth when 2 of my favorite support members walked up to show me the pine rj58 that @wallfish was trying to finish up for the show. Wow what an amazing work of art. I was glad he brought it up to show me as we were busy as usual. To my surprise he said no it is a gift for you for all I have done for the hobby and the RedSquare support members. I am speechless. This handcrafted pine rj58 is a gift that I will cherish forever. Thank you @wallfish and @953 nut. You got me good!

Hi Everyone I thought I would introduce myself. I live in NW Ohio and have always liked Wheel Horse Tractors since 1972, when I bought my first Wheel Horse tractor. It was a 4 hp mid engine tractor with a 2 bladed mower deck. Then I moved up to a 5 hp 550 tractor and mower deck and snow plow. Not sure about the model number. Then I really did it when I bought a C-141-A with a 42" rear discharge deck and 42" snow plow. I loved that tractor, but had to give it up after about a 2 year ownership period when I got a divorce. I actually traded it in at a car dealership as a down payment for a late model used car. Then as time has gone by I have owned Simplicity, Allis Chalmers, Cub Cadet, Wheel Horse, John Deere and Power King tractors. I'm a tractor man, zero turn mowers are faster and great, but I like tractors. Nothing is any better looking than a sharp good looking red Wheel Horse tractor. As my first posting in Red Square indicates, I recently acquired a Wheel Horse C-101-8 speed. I'm looking forward to fixing it up and using it pulling implements around. I also currently own a C-81 with a modified Sears sickle bar mower attached to it. klink

A little of both, the outhouse is our well pump cover/yard tool storage and the rooster is about four feet tall.

That's one big rooster or a very small privy.

I just recently bought a gorilla lift to help raise the gate on my trailer as I have a really bad back and was looking to do something to help. This was the best $165 bucks I have ever spent!! I can raise the gate with the tip of one foot. Anybody with a bad back should check these out. I give it a big thumbs up!! Randy

I've been on hiatus for a while. Finishing the new place and moving and getting my new shop lined out. Finally had time for a little project and thought I would share. Every time I went to mow down by the road and in the less groomed areas of my place, I would find logs, rocks and trash from those who don't cotton to "Don't mess with Texas." I would pick it up and try to hold on to it until the load got bigger than I could handle and then I would make a pile with the intention of picking up when I headed back to the shop. I usually forgot but got a "friendly" reminder from the war department. I looked around for a way to carry the debris and couldn't find anything I liked, nor wanted to pay for. I am planning a carry all for my JD2305. So I set out to design a Carry-Some for the C-121. The goal was to use only what I had on hand. So i gathered what 3/4 plywood I had and drew it out on my workbench. (Nice to have a melamine top that I can draw on and just wash it off) I cut three strips of 3/4 plywood for the receiver hitch tongue and glued them together. I then cut my first side piece. I then took another inventory and realized I needed to cut it down a little to have enough large pieces. Then time for a bunch of pocket holes. All joints glued with Titebond II. Dado'd a cross brace into the tongue to give lateral support Primer And finally paint. viola! Didn't have any Regal Red but had a quart of IH Red which looks just fine (Better then the C-121 for sure) Had a partial can of truck bed spray so I painted the inside with it (after the coat of red) Probably would have made it 8" on the bottom instead of 12" if I could have visualized it. A little worried about going down hills and bottoming out at the bottom. Oh well, just have to be careful! I am hoping this will be a handy tool for picking up debris and keeping the war department happy.

Hi folks, long story, but here goes. My dad got this or at least part of this tractor about 30 years ago, I vaguely remember going with him and helping heft it into the back of a pickup truck. He ended up blending two tractors together for some reason, I dont know why. He's used it in his small garden, pulling trailers and such. Fast forward, he's 72 now, I'm turning 48 soon. So, anywho, he tells me his tractor is locked up, wont shift!!! Rutt row!!! But it is at least in neutral. I didn't have alot of time to mess with it, not that I wouldnt have, so he finds a place in south bend( an old wheelhorse dealership) that will work on it. We load it up, get there, guys come out to look at it, and guy ask if that's a hydrostatic drive!!, oh no, I knew we were in the wrong place, turns out they wont mess with it, too old! So before it escalates, I tell my dad, I'll take care of it, I knows some people, dig it!! So, on the way home, I says, you have left that tractor outside alot haven't you? Oh no, son, always inside, I didn't believe him. So I do some googling, and reading through the forum 9n what to do first, or to try. First, I drained the oil, but there wasn't any, so I shook the tractor and drained the quart of water outta the tranny. Then I filled it up with gear oil, started the tractor, let it idle abit, slowly but shirly I could shift through all the gears!!!! Yippy!!!! Then I noticed the head gasket appeared to be blown, was blowing out the side. Got a new head gasket, old one wasn't actually blown, but I installed new one anyway, still blowing by. More googling led me back here to learn to sand the head as best I could, and then more, pluse some spray on copper permatex. Sealed the gasket!!!! WOO HOO!! So next is attaching a fabricated belt restrain on the bottom of the belt guard, I learned I needed that from looking through the forum too, she grinds a little bit when trying to shift. And I also ordered a new break band today from one of the forum members. I actually power washed it today, its seen better days, but starting to look better. I'm gonna change the tranny fluid again, change the engine oil, and then I'm gonna call it good for now. Anyway, just wanted to share about my dad's old horse, and how I been spending my time lately. Learned alot too!!!

As you probably know and have heard I went to Lithuania on a missions trip. The plane ride over I got to read Louis Lamour books(Utah Blaine) for a while (about 9 hours) We then headed on another plane which was a two hour flight from Vienna to Vilnius and a bus ride from Vilnius to siauliai. After we got to our room and crashed for the day. We were so far north that it didn’t get dark until 10:00 and the sun rose at 4:00. the team from Oshkosh riding to the airport in the non air conditioned van! sharing popcorn at O’Hare with mom always a good sight when your suitcase shows up on the other side of the world! Don’t want to be without extra underwear too long! Outside the airport in Vilnius waiting on our coach bus to arrive. it was a cool building!

Probably not easy to do but here is what I am thinking. I missed meeting quite a few of you while at the show. Not easy since everyone is all over and if someone does not introduce or points us out to each other it just will not happen. So why not after picture taking , staying together for a while and perhaps someone who knows most of us such as an Administrator or Moderator, sort of take over and introduce everyone. That way we can then have a face to the name and go on from there.

OK Folks, I tested the new lights tonight, and am a happy camper! The headlights are 18 watts, and only draw 585 milliamperes, but the light they emit is pretty amazing. I also upgraded the rear lamp to LED, and as you can see, it lights up my truck pretty good. The tractor was about 15 feet from the garage door in the pics. The headlight is pointing straight forward in the pics, and I have a good bit of adjustment up and down I may try at a later time.

Honestly on your set-up there I would get one of those double electric fan/shroud sets like Jegs/Summit sells, and forget trying to get a clutch fan and shroud, I wish I had went that route on my car... I actually have an electric pusher fan plus the SFI flex fan in a shroud and still runs "warm" in "parade" traffic.

We finally made it home! Husband and I couldn’t wait to put a battery in our new horse and check it out! And introduce it to the family! LOL! It was a long drive but worth it! Family and I are glad to finally be home! But really enjoyed seeing new places like Lake Erie, Niagara Falls, and other cool places! And a few problems along the way but nothing that couldn’t be handled! But the best part was to meet other cool friendly horse lovers!

Doing today another „Testwelding“ with same Setup. Got my Snowplow and welded two Steelangles on for a Spring mount. Additional i drop down the height, that the shovel will be pushed more lower. The Plow was made of 3mm Steel and the Angles made of 5 mm Steel. because i like to see if they welded thru yes, they are even if seem doesn‘t look pretty cool nice, ok better than the first but not as good as they can be. About last i have no doubt. The idea behind was follow: A new Plow angle to push but much deeper as before, so that i can set with the spring the resistance of the Plow. This was the Endstop for the Spring to bias it. The Wheels will be maybe next issue i would change. They become also a height setup and will be changes at 90deg.

@BHunter This was my method for the time being, due to sinking my truck in the yard. I can typically back into the ditch and load/unload off the road, but eventually I’ll put this pile of power poles to use and build a loading dock similar to what’s at the show grounds.

I was wondering how you were going to get them down from the upper deck. Any plans to build a loading/ unloading ramp in the future? Great pics. Lots of great memories made last week. You had to work your butt off keeping everything going for the girls to have fun. But it looked like you were enjoying working on the horses too.

Thanks! I've waited a lifetime for a shop this size......but I want it bigger! Stack has to be forward to allow for the handle on the plow. No more than it's on, I'm sure I could tweak it back. Grandkids don't mind!!! Hahaha

Got some time to get a few things done. Finished the rims. Picked up a set of seat springs from fast88pu at the BS Got them blasted and painted and just finished mounting them and the seat Had to use RIVNUTS on the seat to get it to match the springs Before someone mentions that the springs are on backward...I did that on purpose It tips the seat back a little and gives a little more leg room

Update on Scottie: On June 5, 2019 Scottie went in and had his hardware removed from his right elbow. He had 11 titanium and stainless steel bolts and screws along with two titanium plates. He was sent home with a soft cast and told to use it as normally as he can only lifting less than 2 lbs. Well Scottie in true Scott fashion he tries to do more than he should and that is completely okay with Lowell and I as we want him to be as normal as possible. On June 13, 2019 Scottie and I headed back to Rochester to have his MRI completed for the doctors. The reason why the doctors ordered the MRI is so they know how they want to proceed with the reconstructive surgery for Scott. His MRI took about 90 minutes and then we headed to the doctors appointment to have out consult. This is what we found out...Scott's reconstructive surgery will last about 10 hours and he will be hospitalized for a few days or longer. The surgical team will have to make a total of five small incisions four on his abdominal area and one under his scrotum. We will have two different surgeons in on the procedure and each has a fundamental role they play in his surgery. One of the surgeons is the pediatric surgeon who has been changing out Scottie's catheters and the other surgeon is the adult urologist who has been on our case since day 1. Scottie will have to undergo the reconnection of his urethra to his bladder. What does that truly mean for Scottie? Well he will have two catheters in place again, one in his penis and the other is the supra-pubic catheter. He will have both of them in for six to eight weeks and then they plan on removing the penis catheter and see if the surgery works, if not then we have to undergo another surgery to place in a stent. If the surgery takes place and his urethra does not collapse, then we will wait another six to eight weeks and take out the supra-pubic catheter. Keep in mind that Scott does not have a valve to open or close his urethra so he will have no control over peeing. We have to wait until December to place in an artificial valve in his urethra that will allow him more control of his urine, we will also be hospitalized for this procedure as well. Please keep in mind that the doctors and surgeons do have a plan B but we are hopeful for Plan A to work. On June 14, 2019 Scottie and I headed back to Rochester where he had another catheter change. He was in and out of the hospital in less that 2 hours. That is Scott's new record. This is when I found out from the surgeons that they have some concerns and that the medical team is busy trying to figure them out as they want Scott to be as normal as possible. Some of the concerns are...being able to pee like a normal guy, to not leak, not wearing depends, being able to have an erection, having control over his bowels, being able to tell the difference between peeing and having a bowel movement, being able to have an ejaculation, being able to have children, making sure the nerves and neurons are all connected and working properly, and most importantly making sure that Scott will be as normal as he was on December 11, 2018. On Monday June 17, 2019 we loaded up and headed out to the Big Show in PA to see our friends. The trip was not all that bad for Scottie as he got to sleep most of the trip out there. He was hooked up to his catheter bag while he was in the vehicle and once we stopped Scottie was capped and he got to be as normal as he could be. We stayed at hotels along the way and was able to allow him to be as comfortable as possible. Once we arrived at the Big Show, we were able to set up and have Scottie as comfortable as possible. He was able to rest in out trailer and come out when he wanted to. Though he was not out at our booth much, the few people who seen him, made his day. I want to say how much it means to see all of the love and support we have at the Big Show for our son Scottie. His road to recovery has been long and difficult but we will be by his side every step of the way. Seeing all of the Team Scott t-shirts and all of the Wheel Horse Parts and More apparel in the Big Show picture, makes my heart melt, just knowing how much you do care and love our son, Scottie. I also want to say thank you to everyone who supported our benefit for Scottie by pre-ordering sweatshirts, blankets, t-shirts, and hats. Without your love and support this road would be very difficult. The reconstructive Surgery is set for July 16, 2019 and we will be hospitalized for a few days. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and your family!
