Well little bit of history, heres a picture of me when i was 14 on a wheel horse c141 my neighbor owned. He found it in a junkyard and did a little restoration on it. He took me and his son to a tractor pull and let me run it. So that pic was taking 16 years ago. Well after that neighbor having moved away and the tractor being sold off (i didnt have the money he wanted for it) I never seen the tractor again.... Until! I found it sitting in a back yard rotting away. Spoke with the owner told him the history I had with it and what not, he told me "I'll tell you what you give me a big bottle of jack and shes yours. I know you'll take care of it and actually use it." So I'm happy to say shes mine! After all those years its cool to own the horse i got my start on.

Could not let em get crushed, this Red Face 310, I thought some one had just painted the hood but discovered 1985 came this way she needs work. Now the commando 8, got out of barn where she sat for 15 years after original owner had passed. She is still on my trailer covered in barn dust.

Have been taking advantage of a lovely day (at last) and have been clearing weeds out of the wildlife pond... lots of newts frogs and creepy crawlies had to be put back in, love the pond ! there is another pond to go in alongside this one but will be bigger probably around 3rd of an acre when done... they attract so much wildlife its great just sitting there and watching what goes on , simple pleasures eh lol

Just wondering if anybody from Red Square will be going to the Orange MA Tractor and Steam Engine Show on the 28th, 29th and 30th of this month. I'm told there will be a pretty good turn out of wheel horses this year. I plan to be there with 8 tractors. This is my recently finished C160.

Here's the organ donor I picked up several weeks ago. It ran real good when I picked it up but I figured prior to removing the engine I would go through it and check everything. The intake valve was ticking so that brought on the investigation. It came with receipts for a rebuild and still has some cross hatch in the cylinder. Not bad for a 20 year old rebuild. After a quick valve adjustment, a carbon cleaning and a static timing on the ignition she runs like a top.

Thank you again for the compliments! This was going on a little behind the scenes but referenced earlier in the thread. The pine model which is almost done. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the toothpick model which is so time consuming but... I'll be working on this right up until Wed to bring it along.

During the restoration of my last two tractors I had to remove the rubber handle on the top of my implement lift arm. I have found an easy way to do this. Maybe some of you have done this but the best way to remove it is to put it in a boiling pot of water. Now you have to run this past the wife first but cleanup is easy!

Latest update Have all the parts assembled at once and it's really close now. The steering moves but the tolerances are too loose to keep it looking right. I'll be doing some more little things and sanding probably right up until I leave to head down on Wed but here she is. Thanks so much for all of the great compliments and following along on this little build.

Will definetly check out the Main Meet & Greet.The stack is temperary i have a stainless one i hope to get on before the show.Will post pictures.Still not all back to gether but close inough to bring to show.

The large lettering on the bottle will say diesel but read the fine print. It will have the diesel classification listed as CC, CD or CE something like that. The C is for compression = diesel If it also has SF, SG or SH it is the gasoline engine spec. The S is for spark = gas engine and you are good to go. Garry

Rather than try to do everything Thursday night after I fly back from Georgia I decided to get a jump on it. Only hauling 2 machines down this year, and have one waiting for me at the show to pick up. Trailer holds 4 and the truck bed holds 1 so ya never know....room for 5 total . Only have a couple of pre-sold items to load. My trailer will stay in the garage now till I head out.

Very possible. I have been helping to build a deck 50 minutes from the show. The forecast is for heavy rain in the afternoon so we start earlier in the morning. Then evening gets here and no rain. If no rain is forecast, we get soaked. Meteorologists are the only folks who can be wrong 90% of the time and still keep their jobs.

Thanks @19richie66 I've been thinking about having some machined, but can't beat these for $24.50 Zach Kerber is an interesting garden tractor parts and pulling parts site! He also has Throttle shaft bushings $4.75 and other carb parts at a semi reasonable price.

Aint that the truth! I did get it running gave it a tune up, they had a funky auxiliary fuel tank hooked up you can see in the picture, im currently in the process if cleaning the original fuel tank and hooking that back up. The trans flush is next on the list before i drive it. Thanks for the comment!

Glad to see the tractor has found its way back to a loving home. I too have a C141 that holds a very special place in my heart, mine was bought brand new by a very dear friend of mine who first introduced me to the Wheel Horse brand. It’s currently in pieces in the shop undergoing a slow but full restoration

You may have high speed needle adjusted too rich since this just started to happen after making adjustments

Bit of a “Proud Papa” moment today: My almost 4 year old went out to the family farm overnight last night, and I picked him up this evening. He got out there last night just in time for evening chores, so he was out right to work. Which is exactly what that boy wants. He fed the chickens, he fed the sheep, and he fed the donkeys. Then he collected eggs and shut them up for the night. When my uncle got home he helped unload the car and put away groceries. This morning he got up and did it all again, with a smile on his face. I called after breakfast, and he informed me that “ I’m going to be a farmer for five more days.” (Read: I want to stay here for five more days.) When I got there about 5 this evening, he was visibly unhappy to see me. Not because he didn’t miss me, but because he knew that meant he was leaving. Now, he’s not 4 until the end of August, and he has his moments here at home where he’ll push the limits of whinnyness. Not once, did he defy, disobey, question, or complain about anything I asked him to do in regards to getting ready to leave. His face didn’t change, but he did as asked. My aunt told me that he had been a joy to have, that he was polite, and kind, and helpful. He was asleep about 5 minutes after work pulled out of the drive, but when I asked him “What was your favorite thing you did at the farm?” He listed off the chores he did. “Giving the sheep their minerals, feeding the chickens, feeding the donkeys...(this is where he fell asleep).” When we got home he woke up again for a bit and I asked him again if he’d had a good time, and he said “Yea Daddy, you should buy a farm.” At least he didn’t tell me to buy THE farm. Im glad that I’ve managed to raise a kid who feels a need to work and be helpful.

A few weeks back, I picked up a Commando 8 with a 36" gear drive deck. Needed a little attention to get it mow ready, including tires, belts, fluids, carb tune, seat, deck height wheels, blades, muffler, and a few other things I'm sure I'm missing. I mowed yesterday with it, after getting a different set of slightly smaller deck wheels to clear the oversided back tires, and a little tuning of the carb. After mowing with it, I disengaged the deck, and took a spin around the yard in 3rd gear. I was very surprised how quick that thing moves in 3rd. That was the first time I tried that gear. Was super fun to rip around, but a little scary too due to it's small size and lack of safety (roll bar and / or seat belts) lol. The other thing that really surprised me is how well the gear drive deck cuts. I never really paid attention to how nice the grass looked after I mow. No high spots from the deck cutting uneven, and just overall looks really good. Even my wife made a comment about how good it looks. I also really like too that it's a rear discharge, so I dont have to be as conscious about where the grass clippings shoot.

I use Rotella for everything, the diesels get T6, as do the Audi’s. 30w Rotella for the small engines

Not that my opinion is worth anything, but I wouldn't pay anything near that much for a vertical shaft mower that doesn't have bolt on wheels. It's a lawn mower, not a garden tractor. I doubt the attachments can even be used on a real GT. I'm not saying that it would be a bad machine, it's just light duty.

The 200 series are a decent rig but they're lawn mowers you ride on. Not a true HD garden tractor. That's likely a V-Twin 16 Briggs which is an ok engine but the Peerless transmission isn't anywhere near as rugged as your other horses. Even in Maine where tractors are apparently coated with platinum that's a bit high. You'd be better off in the long run to find a 3,4,500 series or stick to one of the older ones.

I think it is the same filter as my k181 and I just got a new one WIX number #42374.

Put a new battery in my 701, installed a rebuild kit in the fuel pump. Runs pretty good. I have on order a new ignition switch, and have to do a little rewiring.

That is what I use. Tractor Supply seems to have the best price.

You will probably need a new rubber grommet or it is likely to leak when you put the valve back in. Might as well have it on hand before doing the job.

Bringing my B-100. It was my first Wheel Horse that I bought in 1993. It's been my "daily driver" until I discovered the pleasures of a 16 HP 416-H which is now my daily worker. The B-100 is still a beast. Engine runs great, transmission is strong. However, it's been sitting out in the weather for the last two years and could use some TLC.

Spent the best part of the afternoon resetting the mowing deck on the C-125. Before I gave it a bit of a refurb and fitted the rear ag tyres, plus the narrow front wheels, the mowing settings were always the same. Since the refurb things have not been the same. Hence the checking, head scratching and puzzlement and wondering what I'd done wrong in the rebuild. The only difference I could think of was the tyres. And that was it. The ag's are the same O.D. as the turfs. But the front trailer tyres are 1 inch bigger in O.D. May not seem much, but made a difference front to back. Of course when I got things to my satisfaction and ready to mow, it started to rain.

The steel throttle shaft is much harder than the cast carb body. Hence over time it wears away some of the carb body and air is sucked into the carb upsetting the correct mixture. The bronze bushings restore a good seal to the shaft.

Had a bit of a shock for Fathers Day. For the first time that I can remember, I've had a card AND a box of chocolates off the eldest stepdaughter. Only taken her 30yrs. I wonder if anything will be forthcoming off her sister?

Very cool that you were able to rescue it! A C-141 is what introduced me to Wheel Horses also. I've always thought that if someone is meant to have something, they will eventually wind up with it. Looks like you were meant to have it! I've went through a similar situation recently. Does it run? I'd definitely do a oil change and a transmission service before I drove it much. The transmission could have either trans fluid or motor oil - be sure to put whichever it has back in it. If it has oil, put 10w30 in it and use a Wix 51410 filter.
