14 pointsToday I saddled up the 1960 horse and put her to eating grass! Not the fastest but man it cuts great! Gets lots of looks as people drive by! Time to clean her back off and let her relax!

9 pointsHello everyone. I was able to acquire a new tractor. This is my new C145. Picked it up from a great guy earlier this week. I was also able to get the plow blade with it. This is a great running tractor and it cuts great. I put it to work today. I'd like to thank everyone reference a post a while back when I was asking questions about what tractor to look at. This was my choice and I couldn't be happier.

9 pointsHaha! Made ya look ! My two show put-puts for this years WH Show we’re still muddy from the spring Zagray show (especially the one I let @wallfish drive ). Broke out the electric pressure washer and gave both a good blasting. The front tire treads were the worst to clean. One less thing to do before the trip to PA
-
6 pointsNo more updates until after the big show, but Frank will make it! I took a test ride last night for a photo shoot and other than a leaky rear inner tube, we’re all set! It’s time to finish show prep, see y’all in PA!

4 pointsGot home today after a long day at work, found this in my driveway, knew right away who it was from, a friend of mine original owner, says all it needs is a carb cleaning, and a battery and she will run, nice original condition. Think im going to clean her up, some fresh decals and use her as a general yard tractor.

3 pointsThis really ticks me off. Bought a replacement carburetor for my chainsaw which is really not easy to find. Found one for a great price of 25.00, bought it and paid . One day later confirmation of shipping on June 1st, to be delivered June 6th.Tracking # supplied. Kind of forgotten about it until I realized yesterday and checked shipping records. Tracking stated that shipping# was opened and USPS was waiting for item. Contacted eBay through provided channels, stated that I wanted item not refund. Within 20 minutes I get a refund and a note from seller saying that USPS it was shipped and that USPS is really busy or it was lost and it was their last one. I check back into their items and there it is now for $85.00. He just opened a shipping ticket and really never shipped because he wanted more for it. Checking further into his feedback he has done this before. What a low life. And to boot there is really no way I can make another complaint about him to eBay since they now consider case closed. Take your money back and just let that low life continue to rip people off by misleading them and reneging on his commitments. There just is no honor or accountability anymore. If things were reversed and I did not pay they would be chasing me for ever. However this low life can just go on doing this and I cannot have my saying about it. Sorry guys, but I feel better now.

3 pointsOk boys and girls of all ages, time for the sale of the season😂! I listed three tractors for sale earlier. I’ll drop the prices a little as we all get ready for the show. 953 - $800 at the show, $750 if presold. 312-8 low hours $700 at the show, $650 if presold. 414-8 $650 at the show, $600 if presold. Hurry on down to Crazy Dell’s, these won’t last long at this price😂🤣😂! Please feel free to ask any questions! If not presold, I will likely leave the 953 or 312 at home - not sure which.

3 pointsTo the people who maintain this site and it the members who contribute to it with photos and information-Thank You. I do appreciate it. I have been using Wheel Horse tractors and their implements for over 44 years. I have been mowing with a C-160 8 speed w/a 42" deck for many years. Good original tractor-but slow. I am in need of a bigger tractor/mowing deck. I am hoping that someone located in central or western Va. or NC might nave a nice 418-A or 418-C or even a 420-LSE with a 48" deck that they might be willing to sell. Because of health and vision problems my next Wheel Horse my be my last-so I am hoping to find a nice one. Thank You for your time and God Bless.

3 pointsMy first workshop was eight feet by eight feet in the corner of my Dad's barn. I could find every tool I owned without any problem. Of course I was about ten years old and had a hammer, a few wrenches and a couple screw drivers so it wasn't too tough to keep it organized!
-
3 pointsThat shop looks too neat for me. Why, I can even see some floor and workbench top.
-
3 pointsNot bringing a lot so it's in a little pile. @elcamino/wheelhorse looking forward to meeting Mrs. Waldo. I'm going to nominate her for sainthood!
-
3 pointsHere's a simplified wiring diagram, provided to me by Richard (953 nut). The switch you want is 103 990.
-
3 pointsI got a few more pieces painted today and got started reassembling this project. With any luck I’ll get the engine painted tomorrow.

3 pointsBasic check over today most obvious is I need a replacement clutch pedal spring, transmission rubber boot, trans oil change. Engine is smoke free with fresh oil/filter but surges a little so changed the in line fuel filter it's much better. Need a good run really if it doesn't totally clear I'll strip the carb, cleaned up ok..

2 points@pullstart I found Fanks other eye cleaning up an old fallen down shed at the inlaws farm yesterday! Also found these old motor parts? s. Can you identify any of them? Especially interested if anyone can identify what this Tecumseh starter fits. Although it looks rough, the rope actually pulls, returns and the dogs work. OK here's some real Whatizits. I picked up this tub at Estate Sale last November Garage sale. The guy had a small equipment repair/junk shop. I wanted the set of number and letter stamps in it. But what are these WHATIZITS? @kenn There a almost afull set of them from 2-1/2 inches to 1/2" The other side has a tool manufacture name on it I can't show you yet. As you can see in the below picture the outer edges are machines to a radius. The top and bottom ends lave lathe center points? This is another strange whatizits item in the tub?

2 pointsAwesome work there! Love the ingenuity and the ability to dive Right into something and figure out how to fix it. I can't say that I would have ever thought of using a log splitter as a hydraulic press but there it is!! Absolutely wonderful idea. @gwest_ca or someone else should be able to fix you up with the manuals you are looking for.

2 pointsI’ll drill through and weld some captive nuts into the ramps and they’ll bolt to the rails. It will be at 101”, under the 102” legal width
-
2 pointsOh, but I have! Our old garage was too short to fit a truck in the door and filled to the brim with stuff. Tractors sat in the porch after I pulled the slider out!
-
2 pointsMess? I’m with Ed On that one Kevin. You’d never function in the tiny one car garage I call a shop. A tractor, a pile of stuff down each side, and a toolbox! That’s the way I roll!!
-
2 pointsThat is really nice! People are so used to the throw-away box-store riders that they do a double-take when they see a real machine like yours! Awesome!
-
2 pointsI second the transmission service, if unknown. I recently drained and refilled the trans along with a new Wix filter, the difference in the test drive last night was quite amazing!

2 points300 Amps is plenty. More likely bad cables and a worn/dirty starter genny. Read this:

2 pointsPut the frontsie on the backsie and put two coats of etching primer on, figured I'd better stop before I messed up too badly, reevaluate some life choices and such....

2 pointsI grew up next to a elderly couple that had a similar impact on me. Mr. and Mrs Amburgee (I believe it was spelled) were in their 70s when I was in kindergarten. They were originally from Kentucky, and ended up moving back thereto be closer to family when I was probably 7. Mr. Amburgee probably weighed 80 pounds soaking wet, and Mrs. Amburgee I once confused for Barbra Bush (I thought Mrs. Amburgee was on the evening news 🤷🏻♂️). That woman would’ve put John Henry to shame. Every day she was in the yard working, while cooking the next meal inside. She used to walk out on the drive way in just a cloth nightgown and robe to tell me to have a good day at school, no matter the weather. Some mornings I’d be bundled up like the little brother from “A Christmas Story” and there she’d be, barefoot in 2mm of fabric to give me a kiss and tell me to behave at school. I’m 31 years old, and haven’t seen either of them in over 20 years, and they’re both long gone, but it’s amazing the impression a strong woman can make in a mans life.

1 pointFirst I mowed, then I replaced the spark plug wire, then pulled a "Couldn't do that again" then I mowed some more, washed, and waxed. Mowed my yard, using up the last of my high test, still ethanol, fuel, knew I was about out, so I ran and got some E0 before I started on the neighbor's yard. I knew I was gonna run out over there, so I unloaded my gas can at their house and left it on the car port. I rounded the garage into the driveway, she sputtered a bit, I pulled onto the carport next to my gas can, and she died because the gas was gone. Took the deck off too. A happyish confluence of events just happened to have my in-laws' pressure washer was here just about the same time I need to take the deck apart again to do the cross-shaft bearings.

1 pointCan you post the tractor model number and serial number? Also the engine spec number off the decal. There were 3 different ignition systems used at the time and you don't want to mix the parts up. Gets real expensive to fix. Garry
-
1 pointIt will run fine and I can get half of my garden tilled and it just shuts down. I just put on a new fuel pump and cleaned the carb.
