10 pointsThey say the first step to solving a problem is to admit that you have one. For years now I have been getting flak from my wife & friends. Why did you bring that home? What are you going to do with that? Did you really need another one? The list goes on. Even @WHX24 gives me crap about how much stuff I have jammed into my garage. Well after my latest acquisition of a 753, I think it's finally time to admit that I have a problem. So here goes. My name is Dan & I need a bigger garage. WOW! that's a load of my chest. I bet you thought that I was gonna say that I was a hoarder 'er some thing. Please feel free to share if you suffer from a similar problem. Now on to step 2, decide to add on or build a separate building.

7 pointsMy 701 is going to have a rare sickle bar mower attachment on it at the Gettysburg Big Show and Portage , Wisconsin “Garden Daze”. Where Wheel Horse is tractor of the year!

7 pointsfound this one locally on Facebook about 20 minutes away from my house. He said it ran five years ago tried to start it when l got there but could not. I’m sure it’s something as easy as points and condenser perhaps. What confuses me is the decal says 8 speed but is only a 3

6 pointsFew scores from a local auction today. 520 has a new 24hp honda, Also a 20.5hp Onan v twin never fired. Never seen a Onan v twin. Wonder what the application was.

6 pointsI guess one could then say I have a problem also. And it is not just related to Wheel horses, it goes much more beyond that. My wife says it all the time, and my oldest son says it too, not that I am a hoarder but that although I am extremely well organized,I just have too much stuff. Is it true that I have too much stuff? I do have a lot of stuff but what is too much? It does not interfere with our daily lives, I do not spend money I don't have on it. I like to think of myself as someone who understands, appreciates and likes to be surrounded with objects that not only have meaning to myself, but are important, whether for their quality, craftsmanship, practical, sentimental or historical value. Particularly important to me are tools related to my craft, which I have exerted all my life along with my ancestors. It is my heritage my life and who I am. One of the greatest compliments ever given to me was one time when in a conversation someone said, that if they were to visit my house and property and not know who's it was, that they would definitely say "this could very well be Cas's house". My place is a reflection of who I and my wife are. Our loves, interests, and heritage is all around us. For me its tools, artifacts from mine and many other cultures, memorabilia from earlier in our lives. For my wife its hand blown cracked glass jars, bird houses, crafts etc. Everything is properly and tastefully displayed much of it being constantly rotated since there is not enough space for all at once. Many times visitors when arriving say jokingly ," the tour through Cas's and Dina's house starts in 20 minutes". Interestingly enough, a lot of it is not even intentionally acquired by me. My love for these things is known by all and people just constantly give me stuff. In particular are woodworking tools. I actually have here all of the tools from two of my friends that were used by their fathers.Their children have no interest in them and they said that here they would be safe and appreciated. Indeed they are and I know they will be for at least two more generations. I like to think of myself as the caretaker of all that is here. It is not about having stuff. It is what it means to ones life. Everyday when I am alone in my shop working, I am not alone.I am constantly surrounded by the spirit of all of those who's hands touched or built everything I have and use and have inspired and instructed me all of my life.

5 pointsFinally had some time to finish the swap. I think it came out pretty good. Ended up making an adapter plate for the steering so I didnt have to swap it out and could use the stock 520 tie rods. I also painted the wheels and installed 4 new tires. This thing is just about ready for the 60" deck I have. Just gotta install a new plastic slider for the motion control lever as I stole the one off this a week ago for my C-160 as it broke while in the middle of mowing.

5 pointsSpent a 1/2 hour with a wire wheel on the grinder today. Though it's not perfect, at least not yet...it is getting there.

5 pointsLast week I hung a picture on a southern wall of my house. I used a level to get it perfect. Today it's crooked with the right side lower than the left. Way too many Horses in one spot out west of me tilting the earth!

3 pointsWhat a fantastic day at the auction. Lot of fun hanging out with @Shynon @prondzy and @wheelhorseman. I will say, sad though that a fellow collector had to pass away and his beloved machines went back to auction. My fun score of the day comes from while Mike and I were cooling down and chatting in the shade of the machine shed looking over the items yet to sell... staring at a large wooden parts sorter with just two little trays of grease laying in two of the bins. Mike reaches in a leans one up and we just look at each other in disbelief. When the auctioneer came around to sell the "pigeon hole sorter", you should have seen the look he gave me when I asked him to separate the two trays from the parts bin. Regardless... he happily took my bid and sold me the two trays. The lesson here kids is when you see those random farmer parts bins in the machine sheds at a sale.... pay attention to what might have become an object of convenience! I totally have to thank @prondzy for letting me buy them.... let's just say the auctioneer was happy to have a bid and I was happy with the price!

3 points$450 sounds to high a price in my opinion. It does have a newer Kohler K181, that’s about the only thing I see as a positive. Is that white thing on the hood just sitting there of is there’s hole in the hood? Not a fan of the side view mirror and removing it will most likely leave a couple more holes in the hood. Sorry, but his many “custom touches” only take away from its potential value....just my opinion.

3 pointsI too have listened to all the comment's for many years about how much stuff I own starting with Mom, your father never had all this etc. When I purchased the first WH in 1989 I never thought I would ever own another tractor,I did however have the Farmall Super A but I guess classified that in a different category. In 2002 I purchased the 520-H that became available through a friend, at that point, my wife at the time made the same comments that you have heard @achcto and I let it go in one ear and out the other. I have customers stop by my house and see all the tractors and have heard all kinds of various comments.I only own 7 tractors and I don't think that is to excessive. I really at this point in my life don't want to hear it any longer. Some of my customers have million dollar homes along with second lakefront and ocean homes with every toy you can image to go along with it, and I make nothing but good comments to them.I just don't understand why people have issues with the LITTLE TRACTORS,they must think they are very expensive and possibly useless? Patti's brother and wife are visiting from Alaska this weekend and yesterday I had to go into the shop to get something not knowing he was right behind me when I opened the door and when he spotted those WH tractors he said collector,I said no, they are all workers I just take very good care of them. Long story short I traded the ex wife in for someone who enjoy's them as I do.

3 pointsThe guy said he bought it five years ago to make a pulling tractor out of it. But never did. He now rebuilds outboard motors for someplace up in New York. He also restores antique automobile. He had a 48 woody in his shop when I got there in perfect shape!

3 pointsAfter a stronger Flu i‘m back in Service. While im lifted the Agave with the Rearfork back in Fontyard, i hit the Horse after that Action on the rearfork and lift it into Frontyard. to mount the Mowerdeck. A mistake was done, while i drop to early, so the Aluminum Pulley‘s they are located on the Hydraulic pump, both are blasted by movin into Frontyard, i exchange them with a Taper Version in Solid Steel. Diameter was 90mm, than i rework the Mowerdeck lever a bit, that it has more space to the Pulley. Today i do a Testmow, to see if and how it works. Quick resharpened the Blades and fiddling around the Deck height -yes, the Deck works quite better. Smoother surface after mowing so i got an Success. Next issue was the mowing on slope, here i have also an massive improovement. Then i cleanup the old Compost place, to have space for some Birch trim cut. The whole compost was about half meter height. using the FEL to Cleanup and park the Trailer outside the Frontyard beside the new Gate. i love it if Things work that way, just the Drop from Trailer must be made by Hand. After the compost cleanup i trim the Birch from dead wood. Later i move the Horse outside and mow arround the House. To Cleanup the road, i try a new implement in combination with lawnsweeper, It was just an idea so i give it a Try. looks funny but it works better than i expected. To stiffned the riped FEL i rewelded the Rips and recover it, i hope it Lasts. then i made 2 Bushings on my minilathe made of Brass and put it into rim on the Frontaxle and grease it. made them with a Greaseline into. Also this works pretty nice, so the Frontwheels have now less play and rotates easier. I decided Brass, what has capability of emergency selflubricating. So i hope to drop the Wear in long Term. If they don‘t last that long as i expected, The Bushings can be easily exchanged if the wear is too high. let‘s see how long they last... Then, while moving things, i got a crazy idea... 😂ok, maybe it works, i will try if Potatoes are out. I love my universal Horse used as a Hard worker, it was so small, but extremely useful. Even while moving my Trailer or carry heavy things with the FEL, it was a kind of Universal Tool usable for everything, i never imagine before. Things my Wheelhose will lift and move, i must not carry by myself. Let‘s have a Coffee..😎

3 pointsCan not remember the brand, possibly New Holland or Massey square baler that someone has modified to make small bales targeted toward apartment dwellers who have a rabbit or guinea pig as a pet. The whole baler was downsized with a modification made to the knot tier system, it was a pretty cool set up. The bales were small enough to be sent postal. The article I read several years ago detailed the conversion of a full size baler to pump out mini bales, and it was an older New Holland baler he used. Scaled-Down New Holland Baler Makes "Mini Bales" https://www.farmshow.com/view_articles.php?a_id=335 Caution turn your sound down, very noisy video.

3 pointsYou would most certainly be able to get them at the big Wheel Horse show in a couple of weeks. 6/21 6/22 Biglerville PA Well worth the drive if you're into anything Wheel Horse. Even more so if you're looking for parts.
-
3 pointsThat is actually the fill level plug. You need to remove one of the lower bolts that hold the tranny side plate to the center cast piece. This will allow the oil to drain out. When you fill the tranny, add oil until it runs out of the hole that you removed that plug from. The plug is an 1/8" npt pipe plug.

2 pointsDoes look very similar to my Commando 8. Gas tank is different from mine, I have a metal one with the filler off to the side I also spot no deck hanger hardware / brackets, and cant see the back to check for axle mounts or what hitch. May not be set up for anything but putting around. As stated, he could have just painted the motor & trans, or he could have done full rebuilds. Would help to drive price with those questions answered. It does look pretty. If that's what you're looking for, a done tractor, go for it. If you're looking for a worker, I'd say move on.

2 pointsThanks Kevin, I must interrupt the cleanup of the Compost, because i had a huge Hornets nest in. The Hornets doesn’t be very amused about my doing.. Ok, shifting the Timeline a bit to later. Then i’m doing a closer inspection about the Status of my Potatoes and i found, that (i think fieldmice) has eaten several of my Late sort. They don‘t touch actually my early sort, so i hope the late sort works as a part of Ban mile for them. we will see. Then i fired the Beast With the Plow doing a ridging on the early sort, but forgot to setup the Plow much deeper.😱 ok several plants missed now a bit of they‘re upper leaves, but i hope i didn‘t destroy them.🙄 Some day’s are not mine....🤓 or they maybe they are ...👍 while i don‘t wanna allway’s be in dependency to wait if i can work in any Workshop of others, i thinking to purchase myself a bigger Welder. I preferr an 200A Type Inverter, once because of the weight and a Worktime of 65% sounds good to me. Also 155A of Continouse Welding seems to be fine so far for me. Hey, i need a bit time to have a Coffee between the Weldings, i‘m not in a stress.. so therefore i observe several machines and while i just only work outside, i‘m lurking for a Combi welder, what integrates mig/mag, Tig and Flux and is also be able to weld Aluminum. Yes, i know Mig/mag on Aluminum is Rape, but it‘s just a possibility. On my search (just wanna use it privat) i found few machines in lower Pricerange, that seems to be interesting in my opinion. I knew, there will be no professional Tools be sold in that Range, but i just need it sometimes for repairs, thats the Reason for a Cheap one. Ooops, while i wanna click in *bay on observe, i clicked beside and allready ordered a new Welder😎 ok, not a real problem, it was on my watchlist, because my old one is defect and parts are more expensive that the new one - so sometimes things must be exchanged..😂

2 pointsBeen in my shop for 3 months, tore down and painted and a few repairs, it has 3-point, rear PTO and twin rear brakes. Still a few things to finish. Got a new seat coming, and have to rub the paint out. The fender and hood were pitted bad, so it don't look show, but from the neighbors yard it look great. The gas tank is made out of a ditch witch oil tank. It was free. I used the old decals on the hood.
-
2 pointsI'm sure the wheel covers were an option too.Just think,if the wheel cover option was say, like 5 dollars, back when these tractors were purchased,5 bucks was a lot of money.Way too much for a few pieces of chrome that served no purpose. How times have changed.Hate to sound old.....but I am.
-
2 pointsZXT, you may be correct, but i am not sure what adjustments will change the spring tension. When I throttle up, it pulls up on the linkage which is attached to the governor only by the spring. The link between the governor and the throttle blade in the carb is seen better in this picture. Danny

2 pointsThe plating on the hubcaps is thin.I would think that a lot of them were discarded because of rust or dents. The first 416H I bought came with a pristine set of caps. They were the first things I removed. The way I use my machines these hubcaps are safer in the shop.
