6 pointsSo I found this gem (1964 854) in a barn. Poor thing caught on fire but was put out before it got totally destroyed. The Stearing wheel, seat, and throttle cable all burned. Luckily I came along and rescued her and now she’s getting new parts and a new home! I would like to see some horses you guys rescued and gave a new life!

5 pointsGo empty handed. Buy a tractor and a cart or wagon. Cruise all the barns and fill your wagon. When it's full, drive to your truck, unload and repeat process. You can sell the tractor anytime if you like for something better, or more to your liking, but keep the wagon for gathering implements, parts, accessories etc. Easy Peasy!

4 pointsWelcome , I wear a back pack for small items that I buy. Bring a chair to sit in so you can meet all of us ole coots . For larger items the seller will hold after you pay for them or some one will have a wagon or hand cart you can use to haul your goodies to your vehicle.
-
4 pointsFirst off welcome! Love the name - mine is Dell too! As far as shopping, you’ll find folks using their tractors and wagons to haul, hand trucks, kids wagons, etc... I sold last year and had a couple of folks to come in with their vehicles to pick up their big items. Whatever you do, come prepared to have a blast! Oh and watch out for that @oldredrider guy who just posted as I typed - he’s rotten!😂🤣😂

4 pointsEither on this forum or on FB, someone asked about the HEIGHT ADJUST LEVER not staying in the pre-set position(s). Tried to explain in words, but nearly impossible. So, here are a few pics of what I tried to explain using a C Clamp to solve the problem. Loosen (don't remove) the two quadrant bolts enough for it to slide sideways. With it loose, C clamp it to the Handle Spring-loaded Channel. While clamped, tighten the two quadrant bolts.

4 pointsNot a pleasant job, but finally hooked up the third spool. Only place I could add it was under the seat with the tank.

3 pointsI brought out the old Sears 70`s vintage, conversion 10cu cart that I had to take to get my 3rd B-80 many years a go. I had this 6cu tub hanging around so put on the frame and made it work. The B-80- 8 runs and works good now after many weeks of tweaking after I bought it. I hope you enjoy the picks.

3 pointsI'm waiting for the block to come back from the machinist for that exact engine. Motor was very tired and had a burnt valve. Balance gears were shaky so out they went to become paper weights. I always remove them on a rebuild; seen the irriversible damage they can do. You won't miss them in the least and you'll have piece of mind the rod won't come thru the block because of them.
-
3 pointsmostly done in cash, bring a tractor and a wagon, and pick up whatever you buy. There's enough people around and they are willing to help. You'll really enjoy yourself.
-
3 pointsAs long as the engine is running well and has no excessive vibration I would continue keeping up a good maintenance schedule. If vibrations show up shut it down! If major maintenance is to be done then by all means they should be removed. Just my personal opinion, others may not feel this way.
-
3 pointsIf they are running well there is no need to replace the Walbro. The biggest thing you can do for any small engine is change the oil and avoid gas with Ethanol. Use this site to find ethanol free gas. https://www.pure-gas.org/

3 pointsI bumped the charger up to 24 volts last night, the paint seems to just wipe off this morning! I rotated them about 90 degrees for another dip, then I’ll spin them inside out if needed because there isn’t as much action between the rims without an anode present.
-
3 pointsLook through these listings and find you deck, open the manual and follow the height adjustment procedure and you will be fine. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/category/18-mower-decks-reel/
-
3 pointsYou need to level your deck. Front wheels should not touch the ground, they are just there for anti-scalp.

3 pointsEric, Yes, i plan for project creep, as I know me pretty well. I learned a long time ago that if you do the job right, you don’t have to do it over... Unfortunately, that takes time... Danny

3 pointsI decided on Sunday morning to go to the top of MT Agamenticus which is only about 40 minutes from home on the Dual Sport Bike, when I arrived at the top there were only 3 vehicles there, all employees I suspect, but many vehicles at the bottom, all hikers. This at one time I am told was a Ski area as you can see from the Pics the concrete footings under the observation deck, as well as the Ski Lodge Building now used as a nature center. The picture with the Bike is looking South towards Portsmouth N.H,the picture from the observation deck is looking Northwest towards N.H, on a clear day, no haze you can see MT Washington in N.H.Sorry for the cell towers invading space from that beautiful old Fire Tower, was not always that way up there, overall a nice ride and then back home to pick that paint brush back up and continue the task at hand. Thanks to @Sparky for the pictures of you Dad and friends suited up for a ride to the Berkshires, other wise I would have probably just started painting first thing Sunday morning.

3 pointsProject creep... Anyone familiar with that? It is when a really simple job becomes a major project. I did not like the way the hood fit on my 71 Raider 10. The hood had been tweaked a few times by my Dad when he ran into things... I made new brass bushings and a new hinge pin. The hood still did not fit right, as it was a half inch too short. I redrilled the holes in the hinges and slid the hood back. Now it fit great! That is when the project creep kicked in... Now that the hood fit, The dings and dents, particularly in the grill really bothered me. So I sandblasted the hood and started the bodywork. I learned a couple of things: 1) I am not a body man, and 2), do not want to be! I have a newfound respect for those who are! I am happy with the results, considering with what I started with. I spent hours with sheet metal hammers and body dollies. This tractor was repowered with a Techy HH140 years ago, and the hood was cut then. I don’t think it looks too bad with the hood scoop. I ordered a 7” long LED light bar to replace the factory headlights, and made a new aluminum insert to accept it. I made a new Lexan cover to replace the original. The light bar has yet to arrive, but will post more pics when I get it done. Danny

3 pointsKnowing that the Omro car show was coming up, I decided to do something on Sunday afternoon that had been on my “to-do” list for over a decade... my Goat has 295/50/15 tires on it—much larger than stock. The car came with a pair of Gabriel air shocks that probably date from the mid 90’s. They have had leak down problems for the entire time. When I restored the car in 2000, I ran out of money to do the rear end and it has been functional for these 19 years and so I have just kept using it. Dad purchased a 1967 GTO in 2004 that needed a COMPLETE restoration and we began that immediately. We finished that in early 2006 and dad had rear tire clearance issues. He told me that he was going to install a set of air bags and I told him that I would buy a set also. We installed his a couple of weeks after they arrived and I was planning to do mine soon thereafter... RIGHT. Caleb was TWO YEARS old at that time. Yesterday, I decided that we would get at it. I helped dad install his and now Caleb would help me install mine! It took us about an hour and a half but it sure is nice to not have the car sagging down after only about 6-7 hours... It is our annual tradition to do a full detailing off the car on Sunday evening before The Memorial Day car show. The first four years I entered it, I didn’t even have children. Now I have a whole pit crew to help me prepare it... Caleb does a great job waxing and the littles detailed the rims and chrome trim. Claudia normally does the interior but she was sick this weekend... We got up early and met my parents at McD’s for breakfast. It is still surreal for me to go cruising with my parents in their Goat and my children in my Goat. It is even more surreal to think that next year Caleb can drive me to this show...It makes me feel old! The weather wasn’t great today but there were about 75-100 cars anyway and the littles were cute enough that several car owners asked them if they wanted to sit inside. Judge wore his trademark hat and was loving this two owner modified “time capsule” 1974 Camaro. He was really impressed with the chain steering wheel. Zach thought this ‘68 Camaro was pretty sweet. I just enjoyed driving my car, hanging out with my family and talking with friends. One of my Local Circle buddies Dan showed up mid morning and we had a great time talking and I got the privilege to officially meet Mrs. Achto—what a nice lady! It is always fun to swap stories with my buddies. The rain hit about 12:30pm and people scattered faster than rats from a sinking ship, us included! This afternoon, we did some more organizing around the house and have started to prepare to get ready for the work week. I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend. I am so thankful for all those men and women that have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the financial, spiritual, and unbiased freedom to enjoy the very things that we have done this weekend. If my travels abroad have taught me anything, I am thankful for all the sacrifices that have been made in this young countries history to preserve the way of life that we enjoy today. God bless the USA and especially the families of those who have shed their blood to protect our freedoms!

3 pointsAs Memorial day winds down, I figured I would post my fence project. Friday @Shynon and I drilled 20= 10" holes and cemented posts in. The day started around 9am and finished up by 7pm. Day 2 Saturday started around 8am by hanging 16 fence panels and putting up gates finished the day around 8pm. Day 3 Sunday started around 9am ripping down a couple pickets for finishing touches, mounting gate hardware and then the big move in. Still plan to cover the ground with crushed rock but that will be for another day. The total area inside the fence is about 24x 26. Maybe @Shynon will post with his fence and the other half of our weekend project.

3 pointsHere's the few pictures I got to take of the show. Spent most of the day trying to sell the stuff I brought and was kind of sore from climbing over the fender to fix the stupid throttle linkage on my truck on the side of Rt. 2 when the little plastic ball joint on the injection pump decided it was worn out and popped off. Good show overall and not to hot or humid like sometimes. Spent a good while talking to the guy with the Sears Handiman in the third pic. He's out of PA I think he said and has several of the 4 wheeled ones and some of the 2 wheeled ones plus a bunch of David Bradley's . Even got a suggestion from him on what might be wrong with the engine on mine and why it won't really fire even with good spark and a shot of ether, so now I need to dig it out and try it.

2 points@Jennifer these pictures were taken 6 minutes apart. The wheels have been inside the dip less than 24 hours. I simply ran the wire brush along the paint that was dried and cracked, now there’s a second bare wheel. No hard work required! it’s quite amazing, really. I’m glad some smart person figured this our for some Neanderthal like me! i found a 2 pack of the Washing Soda (not baking soda) on Amazon, and gave my loving wife the other box for laundry.
-
2 pointsIt’s an Electrolysis Tank, Or E-tank. It’s water and washing soda, a plastic tank, a steel “anode” and your part. A 12(-24) volt dc charge from a battery charger, or the like. Ground your part, give the anode a positive charge and you’re off to a clean part!

2 pointsI just picked up this 1960 Suburban 400 off of Craigslist. My trucks starter decided to take the day off and I got stranded a hour away from home in Green Bay Wisconsin in the shadow of Lambeau field with my daughter but we got some help from family and got home with our prize. Now I have the transmission torn down and need a spider gear and a shift lever collar. Does any one know if the axle has too much wear to re-use? Any help would be very appreciated. The break lever gear on the shaft seems to have a little more wear on a couple spots than I would have liked to see but I think it is ok overall. (can't seem to get a good picture)
-
2 pointsFrame is red finally. Took about 4 hours of sanding, 3 coats of primer and 3 of paint. Motor is almost back together. All the bearings and seals arrived for the transmission too. So that will be going back together soon

2 pointsI've learned to accept over the last few years that most of my To Do list items go this way. Used to bug me some.... But now I embrace it. Between being very particular about the way I do things and also having a never-ending project list ... I often begin to do something only to discover or remember that I had 1 or 68 other things to do first. It's all good.
-
2 pointsSo it pretty much went as planned. Grabbed a tractor on Saturday from Russ in Norwalk Ct and went on a good long motorcycle ride with my dad on Sunday. Monday’s fishing plans got screwed up when the wife and I slept in late...so we loaded up the bicycles and rode one of the local rails to trails. And to finish it off my son and his fiancé are coming over this afternoon for burgers/dogs/beer

2 pointsBeen a long day today. Pictures are aren't the best. Brought this one from the the Buckeye state (Ohio). I know everyone loves guessing what it is. Got home from work, Left here at around 8:15 got home around 1 then went to bed.

2 pointsMowed with the C-120 for the first time with its rebuilt K321. I'm conflicted whether or not I should call it a C-140 now. It mowed fine (other than needing new blades) and the engine still sounded fine afterwards so hopefully I put it together correctly. Here's a pic afterwards with it running. The engine doesn't match, but oh well.

2 points225. When the meat reaches 165 I take it out & wrap it tight in foil. Then I return it to the smoker until the meat reaches 195 to 200. Then pull it out, wrap it in blankets & put it an empty cooler to rest for a couple of hours. The meat will actually gain a few degrees temp while resting in the cooler. From there it's shred it up for serving.

2 pointsWhat long weekend . I'm retired, every weekend is a long weekend. Guess I'll hang something on the Pit Barrel Smoker, maybe a pork butt. I like big butts . Enjoy you weekend and Never Forget.

2 pointsI had my 40hrs in when I left work on Thurs. My company seems to feel that I should put in another 20hrs yet this week so that's where I'll be today & Sat. Sunday I have a date with a big ol' chunk of pork butt & my smoker (maybe a few beverages too). Should probably do a little yard work in between tending the smoker. Not sure what's on the ticket for Monday, I might take a drive Omro to visit with @PeacmakerJack & check out the car show. Hope every one has a great weekend.
