15 pointsI'm employed as a collision repair technician and the company I work for also owns a large scrap facility. It never ceases to amaze me what some people toss: it doesn't even have a dent in it. I think it will go nicely with my 76 c120
-
9 pointsI found this last night on Craigslist and drove an hour and a half this morning to buy it for $100.

7 pointsI set up a new obstacle course, thanks to the local tree sale. Who wants to come competitively mow my lawn?

7 pointsIt really depends on what you want to do.If you want to lift a pallet and keep it level at various heights then a FEL will be useful. You could make an attachment similar to a fork lift to lift a pallet and keep it level.Picking up things, especially if you can't lift them on your own, with a GT and transporting them is great.Until I get my FEL finished this is my solution.Fabrication skills vary and you need to be motivated.

5 pointsHello everyone. I’ve just got hold of a b80 4 speed. It’s the first one I’ve had after looking for one for a few years. Engine well and all gears work ok but the clutch doesn’t seem right. It didn’t seem to engage properly. When I lifted of the pedal bit did engage when the pedal was pushed all the way down. However I think I’ve damaged the belt by doing this. It must have rubbed on something. Can the clutch pedal be adjusted or could it just be an old stretched belt that’s causing the problem? Heres a picture of the old lass. cheers everyone

5 pointsMy daughter (3) has a major speech delay caused by some sensory issues. Today was her last appointment with her occupational therapist before she ages out of the early intervention system on Saturday. We usually do these appointments while her brother (almost 6) is at school so he doesn't disrupt them, but we had to alter our schedule a bit this week. Today when the therapist got there he sat down on the floor with them and said "I want to learn what you do so I can teach my sister to talk".

5 pointsI believe now, fabrication is finished! Next on the list is pull to the engine, split the transmission from the frame, fix a few leaks, clean then clear the chassis. After that, wet sand and clear all the tins. I am going to re-wire it, with the proper switch, fuses and a light circuit.

4 pointsI have been making some progress on the gt14. I have wanted to post an update for a while but have been too busy between school, work and all of my projects. So... I took it for a test drive and the hydro seems to work pretty good. I am a little worried about the hydraulic lift because it lifts super slowly. I know it’s not supposed to be fast but it seems slower than usual. Opinions? Does the hydraulic cylinder need rebuilt? I haven’t put any weight on the 3pt yet so I don’t know if it is strong or not. I pulled the gas tank and cleaned it up, I am going to try to do repairs on it soon. I didn’t realize how bad it was cracked till I pulled it out. Here are a few pictures of it after I cleaned it up a bit. I am going to clean it up a bit more and see if I can repair it. i pulled the carburetor out and it is shot. The choke plate is bent and the throttle shaft is broken, that explains why it was running a little rough. I have a different carburetor that I am going to rebuild and put on. Picked up transmission fluid and a filter a couple weeks ago. I am going to try and put it in this weekend. I also pulled the 3pt off to clean it up and replace some hardware. I will post another update when I make a little more progress. I am gonna try to have it at least running and driving for the big show in June.

3 pointsNow I see that the little notch on edge is intentional. Thought it was damage. One learns a lot with this silly little game.
-
3 pointsThere's a lot going on there. Suburban frame with RJ hood stand welded on. That lift selector might be RJ-59 early style as the notches are on the top. The pedal is RJ as well as the hood. Foot rests are 1960 Suburban Check the brake band tab on the trans. If it's at a 45 deg angle, that side plate is Suburban, if it's plumb straight up and down it's RJ The tension arm for the idler pulley is RJ Also check the casting numbers on top of trans near the shifter, One of the coolest things is the bullet hole!

3 pointsWell since you can almost stand up straight underneath that truck, desalting must have been a breeze!

3 pointsThanks for the update Kevin. This thread doesn’t get all that much traffic but I love to see young people working hard and excelling in athletics, academics, mechanics, well most anything productive. Please keep us posted on Rylee as she advances in gymnastics. With parents like she has, I know that she will do great! She has an awesome support network and great genes! Caleb has two more weeks left in his track season and then we find out if he has qualified for state. He has continued to run the 200 very well with a 27.7 PR. His coach pulled him out of the relays and had him running the 400M. He has a PR in that of 1:02. I’ll keep you posted if he makes state. We have been super busy over the last month hence the reason I’ve been kinda absent from the forum lately. Once school is complete for this year, things should settle down a little more and I’ll be a little more involved here...

3 pointsWell, I finally have my house under contract to sell. I also have the next Trimble citadel under contract. All should be official June 14th. once we get moved in I’ll send photos oof wheel horses in Idaho grass.

3 pointsIt’s good to see Caleb excel at whatever he puts his mind to, Josh! I like your way of putting a verse into perspective for him. It’s like the lukewarm water passage. Be hot or cold, but not lukewarm. I will spit you out of my mouth... I stopped by the thread to say that little Rylee is moving up to level 4 in her gymnastics club! She’s 9, and will be practicing 16 hours per week. This will also mean that team competition in the fall will be traveling as far as Chicago and Indianapolis I believe, a couple levels up and there will be meets all the way in Florida and around the states. I’m beginning to realize why athletes in the Olympics thank their parents for all they have sacrificed for them to get where they are!

3 pointsGot some more pics. The slot hitch is frozen, so I'm going to have to work on that. The headlights dont have a lens, but I have a sheet of 1/8" lexan I can cut one out of. I also took a pic of the dash with all the accessories. I couldnt get a good pic of the clutch pedal because its packed tight in the garage right now.

3 pointsNot to worry guys! I plan to be there, wouldn't miss it in fact. Plan to bring my 953, and a 1277 not sure what else. Most likely there will be an off color one too, just 'cuse! @ole550 this would be a good road trip for you too.

3 pointsPictured is the "cam" motion friction control...the nut with large flat/friction washer to the right of center is 9/16" is the adjustment...NO grease or wet lubes as these attract dirt/dust ect you may need to disassemble the whole thing thoroughly cleaning and straightening and reassemble with a touch of "graphite powder" and adjust to suit you, if it's to loose you will have to hold the motion control lever while you drive to maintain speed, too tight pretty much what you are describing to a point, hopefully this helps.

3 pointsDo you have a Dozer Blade? If you just want to lift a few inches to move something across the yard you could make some forks to mount on it

3 pointsThanks to some guy selling a McLean for an insane price, some info sent to me by @Lane Ranger, and the awesome talents of @Vinylguy. I have an update on my McLean. The McLean that was for sale alerted me to some missing decals, the info that Lane sent me confirmed it, and Terry made them happen. With out further ado here are some updated pictures.

2 pointsIt is just great to see these things saved and cherished. After all they are our heritage and tell the story of our ancestors. I too hold all that was passed on to me very dear, and used every opportunity to show and enlighten my children as to what they are and what they mean to me. Many of them I already passed them on to them, so now the grandchildren can learn and cherish them. Proudly in my son's home are now displayed tools made by my great grandfather, grandfather, father, and me. Thank you and also Mrs. K for sharing them with us. Also thank you to all the others that participated with their finds, a lot of learning has happened since this post started.

2 pointsHere’s the dash from my Commando 8. Mine has a filler plug where your rocker switch is. It also doesn’t have “LIGHTS” printed next to the spot where a rocker switch would go. Interesting, yours looks factory minus the odd switch you have next to the cig lighter.

2 pointsNobody has asked, nor pointed out the 3/8” threaded rod used as “secondary key ways” in the axles. I plan to replace them with grade 2 bolts, I made that trip to the store last week. Anywho, they are the ratcheting hubs that came from the David Bradley 2 wheeled tractor. They were designed to allow for turning on a solid axle machine, they allow reverse while still being driven. They just fit the axles on Frank and since the DB wheels have a larger bolt pattern, I just used them.

2 pointsHere are some of the Silent Auction items Words can not express the love and support that Scottie has from our School. Most of these items were donated from our Elementary School, High School, and Staff Members. Travis and Bryan's employers also donated items as well and we are truly blessed. If you have not already done so, please check this link out....

2 pointsAnother proud Papa moment concerning @Coulter Caleb: He had a long fall with Cross Country and then a very full winter season with Basketball and so even though he was interested in track, he decided to not go out. Well, his second cousin Tim is the coach and he laid out a persuasive argument that Caleb should participate. I told Caleb only to do it if he was prepared and willing to give his full effort. I pointed him to the verse that states, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might”. Once again, I’m not a big fan of praising mediocrity. Caleb decided to go for it. His first ever track meet was last week. He went out for the long jump, 200M dash, 4x100M, and the 4x400M. The relay teams struggled because Caleb is the only tall larger 8th grader. However, Caleb jumped a 14’9” long jump which set his schools record for 8th graders on only his third jump in competition ever! Even with that, he still took third out of 30 guys and I think he has the capability with training to hit the 16’ mark or better before the season ends. In the 200M he managed a 27.9 which was good enough for 4th out of 25. I feel like he could improve by as much as a second or so there. I am am proud of this young man and how hard he works...
