This is for Scottie Have you ever needed a part for your tractor that was just a little better like a tie rod, or even that very hard to find part like the pulley system for a rear mounted tiller? Who do you go to for help? When I needed a cover for a sickle bar mower, I had no luck, I tried finding it on eBay and in the RedSquare classifieds. I put out a feeler to see who may have one and within an hour Lowell PM'd me. He didn't have one so he MADE one for me, not only made it perfectly but drilled and tapped the screw holes AND sent along with it 4 stainless steel fasteners! You all know exactly what I am talking about, because I see it all the time, someone looking for something hard or maybe even impossible to find and you send them to Lowell. This is because Lowell and his wife Joette along with their son's Travis, Bryan and Scott (Scottie) have the reputation as being there when you need them and getting you fixed up and running again without hassle. Additionally, they are just a wonderful family to be around. Then a parent's worst fear happened, Scottie, their youngest son, has suffered serious injuries in an very unfortunate accident. I'm sure that most of you have been following his story right here on RedSquare and know the extent of Scott's injuries as well as his journey to recovery, if not see the flyer below. I am also sure that you all know how expensive this journey can be. Now it's our turn to help Lowell, Joette and their family as they have helped us. Saw this on C/L the other day. Always wanted one so I called about it, He said to bring a big trailer cause the last guy showed up and was ready to buy it when it wouldn't fit on the trailer he wanted to use to haul it with to mow yards. His loss my gain. I went and looked at it. He claimed the motor was rebuilt in 03, which he paper work that said motor rebuild $ 1300.00 but no description of what was done. He said that it probably only has about a hundred hours on it since the rebuild. It started up fairly easy, might have an issue with the starter, no smoke or noise. I'm still trying to figure out the sticks, it ain't easy to get it to go straight with any amount of speed, especially when the sticks aren't quite even. I've always wanted a 24 hp Onan. I was surprised to see that the motor wasn't a P224, it was a T260. 2 for the number of cylinders and 60 for the cubic inch displacement. It had a fuel leak at the fuel filter which I replaced the fuel filter and cut some of the rubber lines to eliminate. He said that it had a fuel leak at the gas tank, but I haven't seen any signs of one. I need to do a complete service on it and sharpen or replace the blades on it before using it. I'm hoping to use it as my main mower this season. The good thing is it is a Wheel Horse or at least in name, so I'm still using a horse to mow my yard LOL ERIC J

This is what I use on roots. They hold up well and are long enough to get to the roots underneath.

I use same thing... Chain saws are not designed for ground contact. High potential to do saw harm and not safe. These are cheap and much safer...

Well, that sounds like a male's description, but I'm assuming a lot of the stuff you are referring to your wife probably has much more attachment to than you do, and I'm betting she wouldn't take kindly to her hubby's description of the loaded personal property. Guys, here's a few shots of the table as a before, in progress, after. This table is 42" Square in these photos. There are 6 leaves I think? It expands out to around 7 feet in length. She used a palm type electric sander for the whole surface and hand sanded whatever else it wouldn't reach including all six legs. I really have almost no idea how many hours she had into this but as you are all well aware once she gets something in her head, it's going to get finished. This table sat under a 4 by 8 foot piece of 3/4 plywood for probably 15 years just used as a storage shelf. The surface stain you see in the foreground was the result of something like acetone or lacquer thinner or whatever ... a couple decades ago. If blending new and old radiuses (spelling?) is the most challenging part, I’m golden from here on out! The Charger 12 guard has about an 1/8” radius, the 753 piece is closer to 1/4”. I built it up a bit and ground it in. When I skim the part, it should clean up real nice.

Steve, as as much fun as it would be, I don’t think Elgin is going to be a good spot to stop due to minimum distances I need to drive per day. I hope to get back for a Wisconsin or Indiana show next year though. And I may get back to the Show in PA. As part of a business trip. Just won’t have any tractors in tow.

That's quite a compliment for her in particular because she's the one that spent roughly three weeks refinishing it. I may have done a thread about that a year or two ago. I can't remember. somewhere in the neighborhood of a hundred years old or a little bit more. Surface was horrifically damaged so the antique value was long gone. She spent dozens of hours sanding and sanding and sanding and several coats of whatever it was...

Always!! Let me check with my scheduling department. Work don't matter, but I don't want to have her PO'ed at me.

You might need a new arm rest.

I plugged one of my mounting holes, but the drill bit must have walked a little and was off center from the original. It’s smooth enough now, that I think I’ll be able to mark my hole and redrill it.... of course with the help of a center punch

Along with working on the seams, I’m plugging holes and fixing cracks today...

Mowed the lawn and when I came out to finish after supper, the throttle cable broke. All in all it was a good day as the 1056 did a good job with the engine out for a first test with plenty of power. This tractor only cost a shade over a c note

I don't have a flip phone , smart phone or any of them there fancy things. I have an land line with an answering machine. Call me there I may get back to you if you don't interrupt my nap , supper or favorite TV show.

Didn't even realize it's been that long. Please tell them I apologize for the delay! Took a break to go to a small little engine show last Sunday and work has gotten busy but I should have some time this Sunday. I've been pecking away at some small stuff and had some trouble with the steering parts last time I worked on it.

If you put a 12 Volt test light in place of the fuse it will light up when there is a high current draw that would blow the fuse. Turn the key and inspect the wires while moving them individually, When you find the shorted wire and it is no longer grounded the light will go out.

I think they are called hackamore bits? They’re easier on the horses mouth.

Trouble is with a zero turn is seat time don’t last as long !!

I know when my 314-8 did something similar to this, it was a fuel filter. Also, check the vent hole in the gas cap to be sure it's clear and not clogged.

Eric had another WH ZTR at the Big show a couple years ago, I had fun driving around the fairgrounds with it. having never used a ZTR, I knew to be super careful until I got used to it. of course Eric needs another tractor.....

I spent the better part of today working up the garden at Dad’s and planting potatoes with him. When I got home, I used a paint removal wheel and cleaned up the donor seat pan and gave it a coat of etching primer. Sorry, no pics. I also cut two replacement foot rest pads from some rubber matting I had ordered, since there are no replacements available. This week I managed to source new taillights, headlights, ignition switch, and ribbed tires and tubes for the front. I hope to paint the fender pan this week so I can begin reassembly. Hopefully more progress this week.
