19 pointsWith all lthe talk about mid-graders, PERFECT TIMING!!! Got 4 yrds. of crusher run for the driveway. Skonk and HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!! got to play in the dirt today. The 6 spd in Skonk is pretty handy for close quarters grading. Elivs came out for a bit but the little guys said " Get out of our sand box"!

11 pointsReceived a text, would I possibly be interested three wheel horses. I was, here are the photos.

8 pointsI have been looking for some time for one of these. Was even going to try to make one of my own. Saw an add for a tractor for sale and asked if he would sell it outright. Well lets say it will hit the ground tomorrow and see how it does. Now that I have one in my hands I will be able to duplicate these no problem. Thinking of making a tough wear blade and bolting to the bottom to give it better and longer life.

7 pointsI’m bringing this one back from the dead. It had a rough life and owners that didn’t take care of it. It rough now but will look great before we bring it to the Big Show. Dillon took it all apart, sanded it and now I’m doing the bodywork/ paint.

7 pointsWell I have been packing up a bunch of stuff and had some room in the shed. Got it to fit in there and set the engine in place. Going to have to do something different with the air cleaner for hood clearance but it fits. That extra 3” of gt14 frame is all used up. May have to trim about 1/2”-1” off the front angled panels the covers bolt too. Thats no big deal. Won’t even notice it. Still have to get the engine mounting plate figured out for belt alignment and then drill/bolt it into place. Then I can get the engine mounted solid. Steering will aslo get done. Baby steps.👣

6 pointsI picked-up this little beauty over lunch. Needs a bath Rear "tipping-foot" is straight as an arrow and nothing re-welded: After a little scrub with some carwash soap and a soft brush (wheel woolies for the nooks and crannies): followed by a WD40 wipe-down: ^^^ easiest restoration ever! Sometime this summer, i'll try to bring out a little more of that gorgeous color and look into using Johnson's wax to preserve it. I'm wondering if you guys can help me nail down the exact year Thanks for stoppin' by!

5 pointsI got the old gals out last weekend here they are my 1956,57,and 1962 Beavers! Such an odd design! love the simple rock your foot forward to go forward and rock back to go back! Im thinking next winter i may put my front blade on one of them and use to plow snow. I bet i will get some odd looks from that! LOL

5 pointsUsing several great suggestions I managed to get a few variables eliminated. I removed the pump to better identify which rebuild kit I would need and I noticed a good bit of air moving as I worked the fuel pump arm . I thought my previous priming attempts didn't work so I after replacing it and priming it again it worked wonderfully . I then removed the carb and removed the needle and gave the whole thing a good cleaning. Finally I was getting fuel in the bowl . Now the motor us trying desperately to run. As long as the starter is spinning its firing and heating up the exhaust. Once or twice it kicked enough to disengage the starter. So close its agony lol. Got the battery on the charger right now. I dont want to overheat and kill the starter
-
5 pointsOn a metal body pump, I always rebuild them. Once you do that, that pump will outlast you!
-
5 pointsThe hood mount is finished with modifications and the hanging weight battery box is tacked back together. It was a little off of plumb square, so it needed some rework anyways. I started to build a solid lift link for the mid mount grader blade as well, but not after I took my own stroll around the field and yard yesterday.

4 pointsSo I've got the B43m Onan 16hp, had been sitting long time so knew it was gonna be some work to get running. Would run on feeding fuel in carb, enough to determine the engine seemed solid. Changed/replaced all fuel sys and rebuilt carb, confirmed was getting what appeared to be good spark --- and, it ran, sometimes pretty good, other times like crap -- very erratic, lot of surging (sound familiar, on an Onan!) pulled manifold and done leak check, OK. recheck carb, OK, getting good spark, Yep.... Getting frustrated by now, I decided to check the valves which were in good condition, just reset and cleaned. While doing this I went ahead and pulled pistons/rods and did a good inspection on the 'guts' all OK but went ahead and ringed it anyway. On reassembly -- same thing, crazy erratic, on minute run very well and next .... UGH!! Seemed to be carburation but adjustment on carb hardly made ANY change. Had got so PO'd I had let it sit for the last few weeks. Pretty day today so went out to mess with it again, decided to go into points/condenser --- AGAIN! Pulled them and cleaned up -- again, but on reinstallation this time I noticed the condenser had a pretty sharp bend in the wire and it was right next to a mounting bolt, decided to take a closer look and WHOA!! looky here! I think I may have just hit the jack pot. Sure enough I scrounged around and found another condenser and danged if this thing dont run like a DREAM! In the picture I had worked the wire around and had opened up the crack a good bit, but you get the idea... So the moral of this story is its not always the finicky carburetor on these sensitive Onan's

4 pointsIf there is more then one Squonk out there, I would be like Willy Wonka who adopted all the Oompa Loumpa's.
-
4 pointsI don't think R & R will eat through the crete. I would make a big potato cannon out of the tube!
-
4 pointsYes. A very nice 854 with a great mower deck, what started life as a C111 and now has a twin 14 hp briggs. Its ready to work with a tall chute thrower, wheel wieghts, chains. The third was a c 141 that the po put in a 8 speed , and started a very nice restore. New tires all around and completely rebuilt engine with new starter, fuel pump, and coil. 1000 dollars was spent on it. I'm pleased.

4 pointsWe old farts do realize it has been 27 years since Carnac the Magnificent.... (I haven't watched the Tonite show more than a handful of times since then.... )

4 pointsI did too, and didn't get any pictures. A guy stop by stop the 312-8 and It wouldn't start back. Got the 120/180 out and hooked it up and finished . Found the problem when I checked the fuse the box came off one side had a short wire not connected to anything. Here is an old picture of the 120/180 -8 with the aerator attached. That aerator has 5 - 12" 75% solid fire blocks at 75 lbs. each

4 pointsThe Great Carnac says....1974 C-120 Automatic With a 12 HP Tecumseh HH120 engine and 9036 Sundstrand.

4 pointsYa I'm feeling lucky myself, I did have to travel to get this one too. I was going to see the President in Grand Rapids, about 2.5 hours from my home. I saw this 10 min after it was listed and it was a little over half way to where I was going. Right on my route. The farmer has a 1975 C120 8 speed for sale, 1 owner, in close to ex condition. He is only asking 300.00 for it with a deck. If I had been in my truck it would be here too.
-
4 pointsWe're almost finished with the engine restoration... I stripped and repainted the block (wasn't a fan of the flat/satin engine paint...nor did I like the paint on the individual components). paint on the carb, fuel pump and governor components was removed and polished the float bowl. The governor was treated with Amsoil metal protectant (gold tint) ^^ I'm in the process of repainting the console... some paint edges needed to be feathered.

3 pointsBetter not @dells68 he might pick up some bad habits. Make him mad one day and come home to find your tractors picked to the bone like roadkill.

3 pointsVery nice cub. It’s great to make these memories. I hope my son will post pics 30 years from now. I’m restoring the white horse for a customer. The red horse is priority though. I think the photo bombing is due to jealousy because it’s on the back burner now haha.

3 pointsHey Mike, there is a hump in your drive way...guess what day it is?? How come there is not a hump climbing video??

3 pointsI actually did do this and it wont pump at all. I will try to rebuild my original pump and remove and clean the carb while I wait for parts to arrive. Thanx all for the advice
-
3 pointsMan after my own heart Mike! Nothin against electric or the plastic ones just prefer the old skool originals so as long as there are kits available... http://www.then-now-auto.com/kohler-fuel-pumps-2/ Finally got one with the elusive primer lever on it. It sat for many years with nothing in it but very stale gas and still works. I would clean the carb regardless Retro. I have inlet needles hang up all the time particularly if the tractor has set awhile.
-
3 pointsJust placed order, I have shopped with him before. Yes he does make quality products hard to find parts made like this anymore. Like the fact that they don't have a made in china sticker on them.....anywhere.
-
3 points@petefaeperth to ! My daughter has a similar Commando 800, it’s biggest job is building smiles, skills and confidence! I’m sure yours is capable of much much more as well! Our parts Commando is more for decoration!
-
3 pointsRebuild or buy new. The new style works well! You shouldn't need to go electric keep her original. My 953 has the factory pump on her and she is still working like a champ! I bought my 953 in 2017 from the original owners son.
-
3 pointsThank you so much MtM! I credit the previous owner for actually saving her from the scrap pile; he said that it was rotting away outside of a local service station. His son had fun with it for a few years (racing stripes say it all!). Here's the original ad:

2 pointsAlright I see how you are @WHX22! And to think I was thinking of letting Emory join up with the Mafia at the show this year😂. That’s what I get for thinking!🤣😂
-
2 pointsOf course you now have to tell the tale of the "white" horse as it has been spotted photo bombing, Good luck with the father son project, my dad and I refurbished his Cub Cadet Original 30+ years.
-
2 pointsHere is one thing to check. Make sure that the + side of the coil has power when the key is in the on position. Reason for this statement - I worked on an engine where some one had hooked the power wire for the coil to the start circuit. It would fire until you stopped cranking the starter. You are correct in this statement.

2 pointsYou're getting there man! if you crank the starter for about 15 seconds and then let it sit for about 15 seconds you should be able to do that a few times in a row without getting it overheated.
-
2 pointsMid graders are easier to control with the manual lift. Eat some spinach or lots of pizza to use human down pressure. I had a homemade blade on my 704. Made it out of a simplicity blade. That blade was heavy and worked much better than the WH blade. But I needed the drool factor on here so I got a good deal on the WH blade and sold the heavy one.
