I finally got the 701 put together and out for some pictures today!

I'm not askeered of no series one... a beast of a machine they are.

30 years ago I when i was a cub scout and i took home the grand champ trophy in the pinewood derby, 30 years later my 7 year old took home a 2nd. thought it made a cool photo.

It's just you, crap like that never happens to me.

Ditto on the fluidity of the hydro.

Went to menards for light bulbs and picked up this cheap denver model menards plastic semi. Sorry Menards it's now a Wheel horse Hauler.

C175 is impressive in Craig's video's. What's even more impressive is the fact no sandals were worn in making of said videos!

I had a GT 14 years ago. Really liked it but sold it. It was before I found RS. I thought it was strange that a sudden feeling of relief came over me when it left!

Anybody know anything about these tiny riding mowers? My brother and I used to ride this thing around at my grandparents farm as kids. Just actually got it back this weekend. Trying to get an idea of what year it is/what it might be valued at?

Finally found time to get over to O’Qinn trailer and look at their trailers. When I got there, I knew I recognized the salesman, but couldn’t place him. Finally realized it was Danny O’Quinn who used to drive for Jack Rousch a few years ago. Nicest guy you’ll ever meet. I ended up getting a tube top 76”x16’. Really nice trailer, but it didn’t have the heavy duty gate. I didn’t want to pay $600 more for the same trailer to get a heavy gate. So, I just made my first mod - reinforced the gate by boxing two uprights and adding cross braces for ramps. Most of my welds looked like bird turds since it has been so long since I did that much welding. Finally started making decent looking welds when I was almost done. Last pic is the before of the gate. A few more mods yet to come. I’ll post more on them in the days to come. The trailer hit me at $1895 with another $149 for the toolbox. Pretty fair price for what I got I think. Time to wash the welding stink off!!

You're still pretty new around here and as you have already seen/encountered/found out these horses have some --- peculiarities? There are a handful of difficult things on the various models, but to my thinking, removing steering wheels and axle hubs have to be the PITS!!

I’ve been hoping for the day I bring a GT14 home... after reading about all these extra projects they seem to create, you guys have got me rethinking my life goals!

Just wondering if it's just my luck or others also. Last spring I had the deck on my 12 Automatic rebuilt and new blades installed. The second time mowing with it along the road, hidden in the leaves was a huge ratchet strap ratchet I guess fell off a truck. Needless to says I found it or rather the blades did, but not before it took a huge chunk out of the right side blade. Today I put a brand new chain on my chain saw and sure enough on the second pass through the log I hit a rock that was on the other side of the log. Saw the sparks, but way to late. Just couldn't be the old blades or the old worn out chain. Is it only me or what? Gary

OK toothpickers, Time for seat making 101. 1) Glue together the estimated amount of toothpicks. 2) then cut and sand it to the shape of a seat

So I am looking for opinions on this particular machine. Any pros or cons and anything specific to watch out for. The photos are of the one i will be looking at. The owner says deck is solid, just primed were paint peeled and started to rust. Has a extra set of new spindles, pulleys, and belts. Also comes with a snowblade, tire chains and weights. It runs and drives and no smoke or leaks he says.

So if it snows in central NY you know it was Randy's fault!

I have a wife and a GT-14 and once I got them both straightened out they have both been wonderful! Our house is only five years old so no bathroom remodels for me!

This morning I turned the motor over and found out there are four holes with threads on the bottom so I rotated the motor on the frame and bolted it back down . Everything lined up !

So I been needing a light for over my computer for awhile now. Didn't really need anything super bright, so I figured I'd just build a little light. Well this is what I came up with. Just got to finish placing the wire. I wet sanded the hood and clear coated it. Also this hood was smashed and rusted through on the other side, so I didn't cut up a good hood, I do have a conscience when it comes to rusty history.

They have a tendency to rust-weld themselves to the steering shaft. I've likely got that aluminum piece around if you want one. Yours for the price of the freight.

I've an old Wheel Horse sweeper that's seen a lot of use and abuse. I use it to sweep the village green and verges, which are not what you would call flat. Only things to be replaced are the plastic castor wheels. Made some out of oak.

chris this is not a round hood, but you better save it and get it out of the rain. people are gonna wanna know what series engine it has

At our old house across the road an abandoned rail line that I decided to mow the grass some distance up the line for my other half to walk the dog. From an old long ago removed telephone pole found an old pole anchor burred in the ground with about four inchs protruding above ground hidden in the tall grass. Broke a spindle. My father was a logger and he taught me not to cut into the ground. When I was around five years old had pounded a large spike into the side of our chopping block. One day he had spent sharpening chains and tuned up one of his saws when he decided to take a slice off of the old chopping block the next thing to come of was a belt and some of my hide. He found the spike and I've never forgotten the lesson.

I saw this as a young child, probably 5 or 6 years old. We would have to go and catch a chicken and hold it while the farmer whose family babysat us during the summer, chopped off its head. We would then watch it as ran around squirting blood until it finally died. Then its body would be plunged into a bucket of boiling water and we'd have to pluck it, then gutted. Finally baked and on the table for lunch. Because of this 60 years later I'm, yet, tramatized!

What is it with gt14’s, wives and bathroom remodels

Mud season is here. Time to swap out turfs and chains for AGs on the L-107. Switched her to Studs and Lugs a couple years ago . Change over is almost as fast as a NASCAR pit stop. So much easier!!!!

She’s starting to look like a tractor again.

The crack/tear is repaired and should now be prevented, along with the addition of the turbo blower. I need to passivate the repair welds in the pan and we’ll be ready for round two tomorrow!

Don.t even bother testing that ammeter. It's shot. either A connect both wires together with a heavy duty connector or B run 1 solid cable from the switch to the battery + on the solenoid.

@Chris G I say go buy that C-175 before someone else. get"s wind of it . @AMC RULES I turned on the tv to watch the news with a cup of coffee and stumbled on your videos, not that there is anything good on there other than the weather to plan the day, that C175 twin auto is like a mini D-8 Caterpillar in action.My first WH brochure I picked up is a 1981 Premier edition with Jackie Stewart as the pitchman, always wanted that model but the dealer that all of my tractors originated from be it new or used other than the 520-H are all 8- speeds,He was never a fan of the Hydros, in fact he always drove manual trans pickups because he did not trust the autos, long story short there were never any Hydros in the area to collect. always thought the david bradley hoods were a piece of art. they look great from any angle.

AMC RULES is right-on.I have both series1 and series 2 equipped C-175's Neither has given me any engine problems.

Doubt you be disappointed, if price is right. I would prefer a hydro, but that's just me. Besides that, the 1x5 blackhoods are the best they ever made, if you ask me. Simple, rugged, dependable.

As long as you get out the deep scores and gouges...good to go. You don't need a mirror finish on these parts...just a dull buff is good. As for spring tension load.... Collectively between the material removed from the piston slippers, the thrust washer, and the base of the cylinder block, there MAY have been enough material removed to lessen the spring tension. To compensate for this (maybe an overkill) I usually cut open an alum beer can (have a few) and cut out a shim (or 2) to just undersize of the thrust washer and install that shim BEHIND the washer. Shim is out of the way and is stationary so as not to interfere with any movement or rotation...it just sits there.

The PC filter must have become clogged because I said it three times.

I think Gary is right. With the plug removed you are looking at the top of the exhaust valve. Just my two cents As a side note I just rebuilt a K341 for a C160. I spent $400 at the machine shop but that included bore .20 over, crank .20 under plus some work on the PTO end, decking the block,truing the head and a valve job. The rebuild kit was approx $300 including a new carb. Was it worth it? OH YEAH VID_20190129_175812.mp4
